Callie couldn't believe this was really happening. Could she really be here with her Arizona, feeling the weight of her head on her chest, listening to her softly snoring, and inhaling her exquisite scent. It was a miracle. She had never imagined that she'd ever again have the opportunity to just sit and caress Arizona's smooth skin for hours. She was so filled with joy that she was sure nothing could ever remove the smile from her face.
A few months ago, none of this seemed possible. She felt like she was in a dream from which she never wanted to wake up. Yet it was real. Arizona wa really there, resting in her arms. Four days ago, all Callie's dreams came true. She was so happy she felt like she could reach out and touch the sky. After so many years without Arizona, they were finally dating again. Arizona still didn't remember her, but Callie let that pain go. They had another chance. That was all that mattered. She wanted so much more than the sweet kisses and caresses they'd shared. But for now, they would have to be enough. They were a start; a beautiful new start and she was grateful for the second chance.
As Sofia was with Mark all week, Callie was trying to spend as much time as possible with Arizona, which thrilled the other woman. They agreed with not to rush the things. As much as Callie wanted more, she knew that Arizona needed time and she was determined to be patient, as much as it was driving her crazy.
Arizona stirred, bringing Callie out of her thoughts. She looked up and saw Callie gazing at her with the sweetest smile on her face.
"God, Callie, I'm sorry! I fell asleep." Arizona immediately started to get up.
Callie noticed the Arizona's discomfort. "Hey, it's ok." Callie kept smiling at her lovingly, while caressing her head. She didn't Arizona to leave the comfort of her arms.
Arizona turned her head and sighed. "I'm a disaster; I fell asleep on our date... It's pathetic. I'm pathetic..."
Callie couldn't help but laugh. "Sweetie, really, it's not a big deal." She kissed the top of Arizona's head.
"How long I was...?" Arizona asked, upset.
"I don't know... an hour or so."
"What!?. Callie, why you didn't wake me up?". Arizona yelled, her voice full of embarrassment.
"You were tired. You needed to get some rest. Besides, it gave me an excuse to hold you, which I rather enjoyed" Callie explained honestly.
Arizona sighed again and noticed that the TV was turned off. "How was the movie?"
"I have no idea," Callie admitted.
When Arizona frowned Callie continued. "I had the most amazing woman sleeping in my arms. How was I supposed to pay attention to the movie? I decided to enjoy the moment and believe me, I don't regret that at all."
Arizona smiled and gave Callie a peck on the lips. "You are someone special, Callie."
"And you are amazing." Callie leaned in and kissed her, first softly and then again, passionately. Arizona responded to the kisses and then gently moved Callie aside.
Callie protested. "What? What's wrong?"
"Nothing" Arizona answered, looking down.
"Arizona...? Are you ok?" Callie insisted.
"I'm fine, it's just I'm not ready.. I'm sorry." Arizona looked deeply into Callie's eyes.
"Ok, first, stop apologizing. I had an incredible night. I loved very moment of it. Yes, you fell asleep, but just being here with you was wonderful. I will happily be your pillow every night."
"You were pretty comfy, actually, " Arizona interrupted playfully as she kissed Callie.
"And, we won't do anything that make you feel uncomfortable, We have all the time in the world. I have no plans to let you go..." Callie gently brushed a lock of hair behind Arizona's ear.
"I'm glad to hear that."
"I meant it when I told you I'd wait."
"I'm not talking about that, I mean, thank you for that, but... I'm glad you are not setting me free."
Those words brought a big smile to Callie's face. "I'm glad that works for you, too."
Arizona hugged Callie tightly. "Thank you, Callie"
After a few minutes Arizona stood. "I think I should probably head home."
Callie couldn't hide her disappointment. "Why?"
"It's getting late and we have to work tomorrow." Arizona placed a soft kiss on Callie's lips.
"You could stay here."
"Callie, I- "
"I didn't mean it that way. I'll sleep on the couch and you can take the bedroom." Callie smiled weakly.
"If you don't mind, I'd prefer to go back to my place." Arizona said, looking down.
Callie gently liflted Arizona's chin, forcing her to look up. "Are you alright?" she asked, concerned.
Arizona nodded.
"Are you sure?"
"Yes. Are you mad?"
Callie sighed. "Of course not, honey. If you don't want to stay, you don't have to, ok?"
"Is not that. It's just that I -"
Callie kissed her. "Shh. You don't have to explain. I just want to be sure that you are feeling well."
"Of course I am. I'm with you, aren't I?" Arizona responded playfully.
"Sweet talker," Callie teased her between kisses.
"I know. Ok, I'm going."
"Wait, I can take you."
"Baby, I came here with my car, remember?"
Callie smiled, looking deeply into Arizona's eyes. "What?" Arizona asked.
"Nothing, it's just... you called me baby." Callie continued grinning stupidly.
"Is that bad? Sorry I-"
"What? No! I loved it." Over the past few days, Callie had started to use little terms of affection like sweetie, honey, and the like when she talked to Arizona, because that was normal to her. She could remember using the endearments before, and the feelings were still there for her. Tonight, however, was the first time Arizona had reciprocated the gesture, and she was touched.
"Ok, baby." Arizona took a Callie's face in her hands and started to kiss her.
"Mmm, I don't want you to stop."
"Sorry, I have to."
Callie sighed. "Will you text me when you arrive?"
"I promise."
"Ok..." Callie said, not convinced. "Are you sure you don't want -"
"I'm sure."
"Can I have one last kiss?" Without answer they started to kiss again.
"Tomorrow I'll make you dinner at my place. What do you think? I promise I won't fall asleep"
"I can't wait."
Callie walked Arizona to her car. "Be careful, and call me, please."
"I will. Now go inside. I don't like you are here alone."
Callie kissed Arizona, smiling as she remembered the way Arizona tended to protect her in the past. Callie was hit with the realization that now, it was time for her to step up and take care of Arizona.
"I'll be fine, honey"
"Please?" Arizona insisted.
"Ok..."
"Wait! My kiss"
Once she saw Callie step inside and close the door, Arizona started her car and drove home. As promised, she called Callie when she arrived. They spent an hour talking, until Arizona fell asleep on the phone. 'Sweet dreams, my love,' Callie whispered, though she knew Arizona couldn't hear her.
#########################
The morning was complicated and intense. The ORs packed to the point that the doctors were fighting to get time for their patients. Each one felt that their case was more urgent than the other.
"Why can't people stop texting when they're driving?!" Arizona yelled in frustration. Her pager sounded again. It was the third page of the morning and it wasn't even noon yet. "Great. Another kid needs a surgery just because a damn irresponsible driver wouldn't stop his truck for minute."
"Arizona you need to stop." Teddy warned her. "We have other doctors who can take this surgery."
"Really? Who?. No. I'll do it." Arizona stood up to head towards the OR.
"Arizona, please. Let somebody else do it." Teddy pleaded, concern tinging her voice.
"Teddy, I'm fine, really. This is the last one, I promise. Then just paperwork. Besides, I need to go early today because I have to make a dinner, Callie is coming over tonight." Arizona couldn't help but smile when she mentioned Callie.
"So, is it serious? You two are dating nonstop these days." Teddy was happy to see Arizona in such a good mood.
"I don't know... It's weird... When I'm with her I feel great. And I can't stop thinking about her."
"I'm glad for you Arizona. It was time for you to start living again. Callie is a good person."
"I know..." Arizona sighed. "But I'm scared, you know? Do you think that I'm falling for her?. No. it's too soon."
"There's no such thing as too soon when you meet the right person. You just need to figure out if she's the one."
Arizona opened her mouth to answer when Callie entered the room.
"Hi, honey." Callie said, approaching to Arizona to kiss her.
"Hello to you too, Callie." Teddy teased when Callie ignored her.
"Babe, I've missed you." Arizona said between kisses.
"I know, me too. But everytime I tried to see you, you were in the OR."
"Crappy morning."
"Yes, I've heard about it. Are you ok?"
Arizona nodded. "I need to get back."
"What? Again, Arizona?"
"Yes, they're waiting for me. I'm sorry I can't spend more time with you."
"But Arizona, you need - " Arizona kissed her to shut her up.
"I'm fine. Don't worry. Don't forget we have a date at my place tonight."
"Of course I won't. Is seven ok?"
"It's perfect."
"Will you look for me when you finish?"
"Sure." They smiled each other and briefly kissed again.
"Come on! Get a room you two." Teddy teased.
"Seems somebody is jealous" Arizona said, laughing before leaving the room.
"Not funny, Arizona!" Teddy yelled.
"Dr. Torres, we need you in the lab." An intern called Callie from the door.
"I'm coming Benson. What happened? Is something wrong?" Callie asked, worried.
"No Dr. Torres. We're ready to move on to the next stage and we don't quite know how to proceed without you." The intern explained honestly.
"Oh, ok. I'm on my way. Just don't touch anything. I don't want you to destroy all the work we've done."
"I'll tell them." Benson said and left. Callie was doing a great job teaching a group of interns and she had earned their respect.
"I have to go too." Callie told at Teddy.
"Callie, wait." Teddy called her.
Callie turned to look at her. "Yeah?"
"Do you have a minute?" Teddy asked.
"Yes, I think they can manage to hold things together for a few minutes," Callie teased.
"I'd like to think so, but you never know with interns," Both laughed. Teddy turned serious. "I want to apologize."
"To me? Why?" Callie asked, bewildered.
"Yes, because of Arizona."
Callie kept looking at Teddy trying to understand. "I don't get it, Teddy. What about her?"
Teddy sighed. "I asked you to stay away from her, but I was wrong. I've seen her the last few days and she's a different person. She's happy, and it's all thanks to you. For a while, I was afraid I'd never see her that way again, but since you came here, it's like she's herself again, even though she doesn't realize it."
Callie remained in silence a few seconds. "I'm the one that needs to ask for forgiveness." Callie's voice was broken.
"Maybe, but not from me, Callie."
"Maybe not, but is you that I'm enormously grateful to, Teddy. You took care of Arizona when I couldn't. She's alive because of you, and I never will be able to thank you enough. Arizona isn't the only one who changed when I arrived. My life has changed, too." Tears rolled down Callie's cheeks. "I just want to make her as happy as she makes me."
"I think you're doing a great job."
"You do?"
"I do."
"It's weird not hearing you warning me about not hurting her again..."
"I don't think you need me to do that, do you?"
"I'll hit myself before hurt her again"
"Don't worry, I'll do it first if comes to that."
"Thank you." Callie said, wiping away her tears.
"Now go before you can't find the lab."
############
It was 4 pm and Callie hadn't been able to see Arizona since earlier, with Teddy. She texted her more than once and Arizona was always in the OR or updating concerned parents.
Callie loved how dedicated was Arizona to her job, but she wished that Arizona would take better care of herself, too. She was just glad that she was able to be here to now try to help the blonde do that. After all the time she hadn't been able to be there for Arizona, now she was determined that nothing and no one would stop her from supporting Arizona now. It wasn't some sense of guilt that motivated Callie, though. She realized she still loved Arizona.
"Dr. Torres." She heard someone call her. She didn't need to turn around to know who it was. The sound of that voice was enough to cause a knot to form in her stomach. She hated that voice. She hated the source of that voice.
"Dr. Boyd." She said quietly, trying to hide her emotions.
"Long time no see," He said sarcastically.
"Did you miss me?" Callie knew that she couldn't have a nice chat with him.
"What do you think, Dr. Torres?"
"I'm thinking that I have work to do." She started to walk away.
"Dr. Torres, it's not polite to walk away when someone's talking to you."
"What do you want?" Callie said derisively.
"I want to be sure that you won't do anything that could turn Dr. Robbins against me."
"Excuse me?"
"You heard me"
Callie approached him quickly. "Don't you dare to threaten me. Do you hear me? Arizona is - "
"Oh, no Dr. Torres, you don't know what Arizona is or isn't. You don't know how she feels, because you don't know her. The Arizona you knew is dead, because you weren't there. You hurt her and you have no rights where she's concerned. Not now."
Callie laughed and bit her lips, trying desperately to control her anger. "Is that what you think is she? An object? A possession? She is nothing of the sort, and I won't let you treat her that way."
"You are delusional if you think that I'll allow you to risk hurting Arizona again."
"Who the hell do you think you are?" Callie was raising her voice.
"Callie, is everything ok?" Arizona asked, looking at both of them. "Adam, what's going on here?"
"Arizona! Hello! You're just the person I was looking for." He forced a smile.
Arizona approached Callie. "Are you ok?" she asked softly.
Callie nodded. "Yes, everything is fine." Callie tried to take Arizona´s hand but she moved away. Callie frowned and saw a confused look on Arizona's face.
"Is just me or do you two fight every time you're around each other?"
"Dr. Torres and I just have a difference of opinion on a few matters. I'm just trying to clear the air. "
"Dr. Torres knows you are my friend, I don't think she has a problem with that. I think maybe you've been bothering her, Adam."
"Of course not, Arizona." Callie remained silent. "I know you two have become friends so she's my friend now too."
Arizona could see that Callie was hurt and she knew the reason. She needed to explain Callie why she wouldn't take her hand. She needed to be alone with her.
"Ok. So, Adam, what do you need?"
"Whoa Arizona, are you mad at me, now?" Adam noticed that Arizona was uncomfortable.
Arizona sighed. "No Adam, I'm not. I'm just tired and I don't like to see you two fighting constantly. So tell me why you were looking for me."
"Because I miss my friend and I was thinking we could go out tonight. That's it."
"I'm sorry I can't. I have plans tonight."
"Arizona, you can cancel Teddy. She won't get upset."
"My plans aren't with Teddy. You and I can get together another tme."
Adam laughed. "Arizona, I know you well, you don't have plans besides Dr. Altman."
Arizona glanced at Callie, who was refusing to look at her. "I've said no, ok? I'm a grown woman and I don't need to tell you everything I do. I have a life other than you or Teddy. That may not have been the case in the past, but you need to get used to it, because things have changed."
"Ok, I was just saying, I haven't seen you in a while. We can even ask Dr. Torres to join us, too.
"That won't be necessary. Thank you anyway." Callie's voice was cold. "I'll let you alone." She turned around and left the hallway.
"Adam, I have to go too."
"I won't take any more of your time." Adam said, trying to hide his anger.
Arizona nodded and walked away.
When Arizona opened the door, Callie was taking of her scrubs.
"Sorry." Arizona said in a lower voice.
"It's a public room. You can be here any time you want." Callie answered distantly.
"Callie, I'm sorry for what happened before."
"What are you talking about? Oh, right! You needed to get away from me because he was there."
"That's not so! Callie, please."
"It's not? So how was, Arizona?" Callie was staring at Arizona with her arms crossed over her chest.
"Callie -"
"What? Are you ashamed to be with me in front of him?"
"No! Of course not and you know that. It's just that - " Arizona paused.
"What, Arizona?"
"Not long ago, he asked me if we could have a romantic relationship. I told him I wasn't interested in him that way. I didn't want to hurt him by making our relationship obvious so soon. That's all"
"Ok, I feel better now." Callie continued to get changed.
Arizona approached and wrapped her arms around Callie's waist. "Sorry, I promise I'll make it up to you tonight."
"You don't need to. You can go with him." Callie turned her face and her lips were just a few centimeters from Arizona´s.
"I want to be with you. Only you." Arizona moved even closer to Callie. "What do I have to do to get you to believe me?" She asked playfully.
"Hmm, I don't know..." Callie said without taking her eyes off Arizona's lips.
"I'll try this." Arizona kissed Callie.
"It's working, but not enough." Callie's eyes remained closed so she couldn't see the smile on Arizona's face. "I think you need to try harder."
"What about this?" And this time the kiss turned passionate.
"Mmm, better, much better." Callie said between kisses. "But I think we need to stop." Callie was right. If they kept kissing this way she wouldn't be able to stop herself.
"Callie, I'm sorry, really."
"It's ok. Just don't do it again. It's not fair, I can't stay mad at you."
"I promise. And Callie?"
"I would never be ashamed of you ok?"
Callie smiled. "Ok. But I still want my reward."
"And you will have it." They kissed again.
"So, Arizona. What are you doing here? Shouldn't you be going home?" Callie asked seriously.
"Yes, but I couldn't. I'm going now. I'll do the shopping and you'll have your meal. I can't promise it will be as delicious as yours, but I'll do my best."
"I can help you."
"If you help me it won't be me making dinner for you." Arizona said disappointed. "Are you afraid I'll ruin dinner?"
Callie laughed. "Of course not. I'm sure you'll do an excellent job, but since it's almost five, I was thinking that I could go with you and we could spend more time together."
"That's sounds great, but you're a guest, so you aren't allowed to work, ok?"
"Deal. And kissing you while you're cooking, is that allowed?"
"It's more than allowed; it's required." Arizona hugged Callie.
"I love it."
########################################
Grocery shopping had never been so fun for Arizona. She really enjoyed Callie's company. They bought all the ingredients they needed for dinner that night, laughing and teasing the whole time. Of course Callie forced Arizona to buy other things that Callie considered necessities in any well stocked refridgerator. She was going to do her part to ensure that Arizona ate healthy.
Both women were in the kitchen. Arizona was sautéing vegetables in a pan while Callie was sitting at the table looking at her with adoration.
"Ok, I think that's ready." Arizona said, removing the pan from the heat.
"It smells wonderful, sweetie." Callie stood and went to Arizona and started to kiss Arizona's neck. "Do you need any help?"
"No, thank you. I've told you, you're my guest." As Callie kept kissing Arizona she turned her face. "Baby, I don't want to burn the supper."
"It's not on the burner anymore. We can do that. Besides I'm fulfilling my obligations, remember?"
"You are right. You have done an excellent job until now."
"Thank you." Callie kissed Arizona cheek.
"I'll set the table." Arizona said, breaking the hug.
"I'll help you."
"Ok, but keep telling me about yourself." While Arizona was cooking they were talking about their lives. Arizona wanted to know Callie's life and she was more than pleased to tell her. "How is your relationship with Sofia's dad?"
"With Mark? Great. He's my best friend actually. I have a good friendship with his wife too."
"Lexie, right?" Callie nodded. "She is a little.. I don't know... weird."
Callie laughed. "She is a good person, and she is really good with Sofia. It wasn't easy for her."
"You mean dating someone with a daughter?"
"Well... actually they were dating when Mark told her that I was pregnant."
"Oh... did he cheat on her with you?" Arizona asked intrigued.
"No, it was complicated, they weren't together. They were getting back together just as I found out I was pregnant."
"Ok..."
"Arizona, this is delicious." Callie said tasting her food.
"I'm glad you like it."
"What about you? You live here..."
"I don't have too much to tell you. I just work. You know my friends. Teddy and Adam were my support." Arizona smiled weakly.
"Adam, right..." Callie said, unable to hide her dislike of the man.
"Mmm, are you jealous?"
"Maybe..."
Arizona took a Callie's hand. "You look very sexy when you're jealous."
Callie grinned. "So are you doing this on purpose?"
"Guilty." Arizona kissed Callie's hand.
Dinner passed between talks about life and Callie's life. Since Arizona had few memories of her past it all was Arizona questioning Callie.
"Do you have a big family?"
"Yes, but we don't talk too much."
"Are you estranged?"
"Something like that... my family didn't take it well that I'm gay." Callie answered sadly.
"Sorry. But your parents?" Arizona answered.
"Well, my father took away my trust fund."
"Did you have a fund?"
"Yes, my family is wealthy. I had to choose between the trust fund or a girl."
"And you chose her. I guess she was the first."
"Not really... Then my father accepted me, but my mother is very traditional. It was difficult for her to accept that I would be a single mother and now she thinks that being gay was a choice"
"Do you like to dance?" Arizona asked suddenly changing the subject.
"What?"
"To dance, do you like to dance?" Arizona stood, offering her hand to Callie.
"I love dancing with a beautiful woman"
Arizona turned the radio and both started to dance. Callie couldn't help but remember when they had done this in the past. She asked herself if in some way Arizona was remembering her and was trying to relive good memories.
Callie hugged Arizona tightly when the music slowed. Arizona had her head on Callie's chest and Callie was happy that Arizona couldn't see that her eyes were filled with tears.
"Thank you for this night, Arizona." Callie said in Arizona's ear.
"You are welcome."
They continued dancing several minutes until Callie felt Arizona froze.
Immediately, Callie stepped away from Arizona. "Honey?" She called when saw that Arizona had her eyes closed. "What's wrong?" Asked worriedly.
"I'm fine, just give me a minute." Her eyes were still closed and her breathing was heavy.
"Arizona, you're scaring me. What do you feel?" Arizona lost her balance, concerning Callie even more. "Arizona!"
"I'm a little dizzy." Arizona answered in a lower voice.
"Here. Sit down." Callie guided Arizona to the couch.
"Thank you." Arizona put her hand over her forehead.
"Is it your head?" Callie answered, knowing the answer.
"Yes."
"We'll go to the hospital."
"No, Callie, it's not necessary. Could you bring me the pills that are in the cabinet?"
"Sure." Callie left Arizona on the couch and went to find the pills and water. "Here." Arizona sat up and took the pill."Easy."
"Thank you, I'm better. I guess it was a stressful, busy day. I'm sorry for worrying you." Arizona smirked guilty.
"It's my fault, actually, I should know better." Callie knelt in front of her. "Are you really better?"
"Yes, babe, in a minute I'll be as good as new."
Callie was staring at her when Arizona stood. "We need to continue with our dinner, I can't promise I can keep dancing, but we can keep talking."
"No, Arizona, you need to rest and you will rest." Callie was mad that Arizona didn't care about looking after her health more carefully.
Arizona sighed, knowing that Callie was right. "Ok."
Callie started to guide Arizona towards her room. "What are you doing?"
"I want to be sure you go to bed."
"Can I go to the bathroom, first?" Arizona asked grinning.
"Go. Do you need help?"
"Callie..." Arizona protested.
When Arizona left the bathroom Callie was waiting, sitting on the edge of the bed.
"I want to walk with you to the door."
"I'm not going anywhere, so you can put yourself in bed."
"Callie, I'm fine."
"I already heard you. Now rest." Arizona looked at her confused. "I'll go to clean the table. Whatever you need, call me, ok?"
Arizona just nodded and Callie left the room. Once she was alone, her body starting shaking and tears rolled down her cheeks. She needed to leave the room so Arizona couldn't see her. She needed to cry. She was so scared that she couldn't breath. She knew what happened just now had become normal for Arizona, but she was reluctant to accept it.
When she was ready, she reentered the room. Arizona was sleeping placidly. Callie caressed softly Arizona's face. "You'll be ok, I promise." murmured.
Callie went to the living room and got her phone.
"Hello?" a sleepy voice answered.
"Teddy, hi. I'm sorry, you were sleeping."
"Callie? What's wrong?" Teddy asked alertly.
"Is Arizona, she -" Callie couldn't finish the sentence.
"What's with her? Is she fine?"
"Yes. No. I don't know."
"Callie, I don't get it. Yes or no?" Teddy asked anxiously.
"She's sleeping right now, earlier, she had a had a dizzy spell and she fainted. I think her headaches are getting worse" Callie explained.
"But, how is she now?"
"Fine, I guess."
"Ok, keep me posted. But I suppose that isn't what you wanted to tell me."
"No. I need Arizona's scans."
"Callie, I don't have them. You need to ask Arizona. Why do you want them?"
"So I can send them to Derek. He'll find a way to take away this fucking tumor. I need your help because I don't want to tell Arizona now because she'll think that I'm not sure about her health."
"Callie, I sent them to Derek a few years ago and he said that he couldn't do anything. Don't you think that I wanted the same?"
"I don't care. He'll look at them again and he can keep studying them until he can figure out the solution." Callie's voice broke
"Callie..." Teddy sighed.
"And if he can't I'll find someone who can! If I need to go across the world to find the right doctor, I'll do it."
"I'll see what I can do." Teddy knew it was impossible to try to talk with Callie right now. Besides, they'd lose nothing by trying one more time.
"Thank you."
When the call ended, she went to see Arizona. Now Arizona was awake.
"Hey, did I wake you?" Callie approached to the bed.
"No. You were talking, weren't you?"
"Yes, was consulting about a patient." Callie lied. "How do you feel?"
"Fine."
Callie could see that wasn't the truth. "Arizona... please, I need you to be honest with me."
"I'm tired."
"Sorry, honey." She kissed Arizona's forehead. "Go to sleep, I'll be right here."
"You can go babe, really. Go rest, you need it too." Arizona took Callie's hand.
"I won't. I told you. Just tell me where I can find sheets. When I'm sleepy, I'll go to the couch."
"No."
"Arizona, I already told you I won't go, you can insist all you want but-"
"Here." Callie watched her. "The bed is big enough for both of us. The couch isn't comfy."
"You sure? Because it's not a big deal for me to sleep there."
"You can find some clothes for you, you know the place."
"Thank you."
After going to the bathroom, she climbed into bed. Both women remained silent. Callie's heart was raising just knowing she was sharing a bed with Arizona again after so many years. Even if was just to sleep.
"Goodnight." Callie pecked Arizona on her mouth. "Promise you'll wake me up if you need anything." Callie knew that she wouldn't sleep, but she wanted to be sure.
"Promise." Arizona smiled at her.
Callie thought that Arizona would be more comfortable is she was at the other end of the bed. When a few minutes passed Callie heard Arizona's voice.
"Callie?" Arizona called her softly.
"Yes? Is everything ok? Do you need something?" Callie freaked out.
"Can you - Can you hold me?" Arizona asked hesitantly.
Callie turned and wrapped her arms around Arizona. "There's nothing I want more, sweetie." She kissed Arizona, who fell asleep with a smile on her face that was at least as big as Callie's, if not even bigger.
