In the past, being in a bed with Arizona at midnight was relaxing. Callie loved loved to sleep wrapped at her waist, with her head buried on Arizona's neck. She couldn't help but remember all the fun they used to have, both in bed and out of it. But tonight was different. It wasn't just a matter of years she had spent apart, or because time had changed their bodies. She still she loved Arizona's body. Time had certainly been good to her.

However, Callie couldn't enjoy being with Arizona like this. She wished so many times that she could be with Arizona again and now that she had the opportunity she wasn't able to enjoy it.

She glanced at the watch that Arizona had over her night stand. 3am. Callie sighed, frustrated. She felt happy in some ways, but in other ways she wasn't. She was worried for Arizona, even when she seemed to sleep placidly.

Nevertheless, there was something else. Guilt. Callie was feeling guilty that she was hiding their history from Arizona. She was feeling guilty for not telling Arizona about their past together. Arizona told her that she didn't want to know, but was it right of Callie to keep this secret from her? Should she just tell Arizona the truth?

Callie looked around the room. Even with the lack of light she could see that Arizona didn't have pictures, aside from a tiny frame with a recent photo of Arizona and Teddy that had been taken at the hospital. Callie understood that it was logical that Arizona wouldn't have pictures of a past she didn't remember, yet it still saddened her. She remembered how Arizona loved to decorate her house with pictures and bright colors, none of which could be seen here. Callie had been in Arizona's room before, but it wasn't until now, reflecting on their past, that she noticed it. "I'm sorry," Callie whispered while a tear was rolled down her cheek. She hugged Arizona tightly.

"What are you sorry about?" Arizona's voice broke the silence in the room. Arizona didn't move, awaiting Callie's answer.

"God, Arizona, you scared me." Callie's heart stopped when she heard Arizona. "I didn't know that you were awake. How long have you being awake?" Callie started to worry. "Do you feel ok? What do you need? Is there something I can do to-?" Callie was rambling, frightened.

"Hey, stop." Arizona turned to see Callie's face and caressed her cheek. "I'm fine, I woke up and then I couldn't sleep. You need to stop to worrying about me or you'll have a heart attack before my head decides to explode."

Arizona's smile faded when she saw Callie's expression. She could see the pain in her eyes. Callie's voice came out broken. "Don't. Never say that again. It's not funny"

Arizona frowned when Callie left the bedroom within seconds.

Callie knew that she was overreacting, but it was just about Arizona's words. Callie wanted to turn back time. She hated Arizona's sickness. She hated all Arizona had to suffer and that she wasn't there for her. She hated that because of her stupid pride Arizona was alone. She hated herself. Even when Callie knew that they both had some responsibilty for the break up.

"Callie?" Arizona called softly, a few steps away. When Callie didn't answer she approached at her. "Sorry, I didn't mean to upset you."

Callie sighed, trying to calm herself down. "I don't like you talking about things like that." Callie explained honestly and held Arizona's arms.

"I'm sorry, really... it's just that I used to joke with Teddy about it." Once again Callie's eyes were full of pain.

"I'm not her, ok!?. I'm not Teddy. I haven't been with you since the beginning. I can't handle those kinds of jokes, not now. Do you understand?. I can't. I won't do it. Nobody's head is going to explode!" At that moment Callie noticed that she was yelling at Arizona, who was standing frozen as she looked at her. A few seconds later, Arizona put her arms around her.

Callie closed her eyes. "I promise you I'll try not to joke about the tumor, at least for a while. But Callie, this is who I am. This is my life... I live with a tumor in my head. We're both doctors. We both know that these kinds of things are unpredictable. So far I've beaten the odds, and I'm able to be here, hugging a stunning brunette..." Callie couldn't help but laugh softly at Arizona's words. "but Callie, I really need to accept the fact that I have a tumor and I really, really need you to not spend your whole life worrying about me."

"I can't promise that, Arizona. I care about you and I think about you every day. That is a fact as well." Callie was looking deeply into Arizona's eyes.

"Callie, you need to get used to the fact that sometimes I -"

"I know. Some days you'll feel bad and I'll try to not let it drive me crazy. But I always will take care of you and I'll be just a little worried... Ok?"

Arizona smiled. "Just a little, uh?"

"Well, maybe not just a little, but you'll get used and you'll love it, you'll see."

"I'm think that I'm starting to love it..." Arizona kissed Callie with adoration. The woman made her feel special. Callie was amazing and she knew it. "Just don't be spending every moment thinking about that. I need to live as normal a life as I can."

Callie nodded; she understood what Arizona was saying. "Arizona?" When Arizona looked at her she continued. "I'm sorry for yelling you."

"It's ok, really. I think that you should give me a kiss, though, so I can show you that I forgive you." Callie happily obliged.

After a few moments, Arizona moved away. "I'm going to the kitchen. Do you want anything?"

"You." Arizona laughed. "You've already got me, Callie, believe me."

"What are you doing?" Callie asked when she saw Arizona taking a pill. The answer was obvious but she couldn't stop herself from asking.

"I'm taking mymeds. These help me with the headaches."

"Why you didn't tell me?" Callie raised her voice, concerned.

"We talked about that, Callie." Arizona looked at her expectantly.

"Ok, I'm sorry." Callie exhaled. "Can I at least take to you to bed?"

"Please." Arizona extended her hand and Callie held it the whole way to bed.

Callie covered Arizona and kissed her forehead before to climbing into bed with her. "Now sleep, sweetheart."

"Callie? Are you asleep?" Minutes had passed and Arizona was still awake.

"No. Why?"

"Can I ask you something?"

"Yes, what do you want to know?"

"I keep thinking about you told me at dinner..." Arizona was talking shyly.

"And what was that?. Which of my follies are bothering at you?" Callie asked playfully remembering that they were talking about Callie's youth.

"Mmm, it's not that..."

Now Callie was intrigued. "So, what is it?"

"You told me that your parents were angry when you told them you're gay, and that you chose the woman you were with over them."

"Yes..." Callie didn't like where this conversation could go.

"What happened with her?"

"What do you mean?"

"Well, you were with Mark after your relationship with her, so I was thinking if you really enjoy being with wo-"

Callie cut Arizona off. "I'm bisexual if is that what you're worried about"

"Ok." After minutes of silence she started to talk again. "Do you ever regret that you chose her against your mother's wishes?"

Callie thought a few seconds. "No. If I'm being honest, it wasn't just about choosing her. I was choosing myself. I chose my dreams, my wishes, my life... I chose myself and being with her it made the choice a little easier."

"Did you love her? I'm sorry, you don't have to answer."

"Very much." Callie was uncomfortable talking with Arizona about this, but she needed to keep talking. "She was incredible."

"Why did you two break up?" Since Callie was answering Arizona kept asking.

"It's complicated. She won a grant and left me in the middle of airport."

"Wow... it's ... I don't know... why you didn't go with her?"

"Is a long story, and you need to rest."

"She is a silly, you know? but I guess I have to thank her because you're here with me..."

Callie couldn't respond. Those words hurt her a lot. She needed to tell Arizona the truth and she needed do it soon.

####################

Her alarm sounded. When she turned around she saw Callie's eyes opened fully open. A huge smile formed in her face. Callie had a magic effect over her. No matter what, Callie always made her happy.

"Where are you going?" Callie asked before Arizona kissed her and left the bed.

"I'm going to take a shower, so I can go to work. Do you want to go first? I can wait."

"You aren't going anywhere." Callie said calmly.

"What? Callie, I don't need to remind you that today is a work day, do I?" Arizona was confused.

"I know what day is it, Arizona. But today you're taking a day off. You need a break, and you know it."

"Callie, really I fine."

"No, Arizona. I accepted that I need to stop me worrying about you, but you need to take care better of yourself or I'll do it for you. You barely slept last night and I can tell by looking in your eyes that your head is hurting. Isn't it?"

"Callie, I ... "

"I'm waiting, Arizona."

Arizona sighed. "Yes, it is hurting. But that's normal in the mornings..."

"Well, I don't care. You'll call in sick today and stay in bed."

"What? Are you crazy?"

"I'm not. Now, take the shower and I'll make breakfast."

Arizona knew that she didn't have any chance to change Callie's mind. "I don't take days off."

"See? I'm right, now call your chief." Callie gave her a grin. "Please?"

"I don't like being alone..." Arizona said softly.

"And who says you will be? I said that I'll take care of you. I'm staying here all day."

"Really?" Arizona seemed excited to spend her day with Callie.

"Yes, absolutely." Callie gave her a tender kiss. "Now, call the hospital."

"Yes, ma'am."

After calling in to let the departmentknow that she was sick and wouldn't be coming in today, and making sure that a resident would take care of her patients, Arizona decided to go back to bed and wait for Callie while she was making her breakfast.

"Luckily I forced you to buy some healthy things. What do you eat usually, Arizona?" Callie said as she entered the bedroom with a tray with two coffee cups, orange juice, cereal and milk.

"I knew that there was a down side to you staying here."

"Do you want me to go?" Callie said, pretending to leave the room.

"No! I was kidding... come here..."

"I don't know... I'll think about it.."

"Ok, I could just go to work then, even though my head hurts and you're the only one who makes me feel better. But it's ok."

"You are mean, Arizona Robbins. Don't you play that card."

Arizona laughed. "So, you are staying here I guess."

"Yes, but I remembered that Mark is coming with Sofia today, so I need to go to in the afternoon. Sorry." Callie would have loved to spend the whole day with Arizona but she needed to get Sofia.

"Oh, it's ok. I get it. You must be missing her a lot." Arizona tried to hide her dissapointment.

"Yes... I'm sorry. If Mark were available I'd ask him to keep her for one more day, but he can't."

"Callie, really, it's ok. I miss her too and I'll be fine. I can read or I'll watch some tv or I can call at hospital and help with some charts..."

"Nope, no work for you. Promise me?"

"If you promise me that you won't feel bad because you're leaving me here."

Callie sighed. She knew that it was impossible, but she lied. "I promise."

Arizona kissed her. "Ok, now, where is my breakfast?"

Callie made sure that Arizona had a healthy morning meal and now was waiting for Arizona to get out of the shower.

When the door opened and Arizona appeared in the bedroom, with wet hair and wrapped in a towel, her mouth went dry instantly. Arizona was so beautiful, so perfect...

"I'm sorry I took so long. The bathroom is free now. I left a towel there and you can take whatever you need."

Callie wanted to say something but her words didn't come out. "I - I'm ... "

"Callie, are you alright?" Arizona asked when she noticed Callie staring at at her.

Callie nodded and stood up. When she walked past Arizona a hand reached up to take catch her wrist. "I'll miss you, don't take too long..." Arizona gave her a peck on the lips.

Callie couldn't resist the urge to kiss her and the soft kiss transformed into a passionate one. Arizona responded to Callie's kiss, holding Callie's neck. A soft moan escaped Callie's mouth and she moved away from Arizona.

"I better go shower." Callie knew that she couldn't resist being in Arizona's arm too long. She wished so much to be able to be with her in the most intimate way. She missed Arizona's body next to her.

"That can wait." Arizona kissed Callie again.

"Arizona, really, I need to stop now or I won't be able to..." Callie was breathing hard. "You are so beatiful..." She was caressing Arizona's cheek. "So, so beautiful..."

Arizona closed her eyes. Her heart was racing. She could feel every single beat. She had the same desire. Callie was gorgeous. But it wasn't just about sex. Arizona had feelings for Callie. Her heart claiming Callie.

Arizona was scared. She was scared by her newfound desire to enjoy every intimate moment with Callie, to wish that those moment never end... She was scared because she wanted the same thing that Callie did.

Despite her desire, she was frozen. Her head was working rapidly, trying to figure what she should do. She wanted to make love to Callie but she wasn't sure she knew what she was doing. She wished she had some kind of text to follow, but she knew there were no guidelines or rules to follow. When you are in that moment, it is just that... your moment with the person you choose.

"Kiss me" Arizona stated. She was hoping that the kiss would give her the answer.

"What?" That was all Callie could say. "Arizona, I'm serious if we don't st-"

"Just do it." Arizona opened her eyes and looked deeply into Callie's eyes.

The next hour was magic. Callie was holding Arizona tightly over her chest like she was afraid that she would flee. Arizona was caressing Callie's arms. Neither of them said a word for minutes, as if speaking would break the moment. Arizona didn't know why, but the instant that Callie began to kiss her body she knew what to do; she knew what Callie wanted... the experience was so sweet and incredible. She could stay with Callie all day... or maybe her whole life...

"Are you ok?" That was the first words that Callie said, despite the fact that she was wished she could say 'I love you'

Arizona nodded. "Are you sure?" Callie insisted.

"I was just thinking"

"Thinking about what?" Callie was happy to feel Arizona's weight on her chest.

"You... me... us... that was amazing... I felt so right with you and I was trying to remember if some time I felt the same way with someone else."

"Do you want to know about your past?"

"No. I'd remember if I had being with someone like you, don't you think?"

Callie had a lump in her throat. "Arizona, I want to tell you something..." Callie sighed. "It's something about your past that maybe you would want to know and- "

"Not now. I want to enjoy the moment Callie. I don't want to talk about my past, ok?"

"Ok..." Callie felt guilty, but on the other hand she was relieved because she didn't know if Arizona would want to be with her when she knew the truth. "I have to go in awhile."

"I know." Arizona said showing her annoyance.

"But I'll call you and check how you're feeling."

"How do you think I'll be? I'll be sad of course! I'll be missing you..."

"I'll miss you too, honey."

"Say hi to Sofia from me."

"I'll will."

"Callie?"

"Mhh?"

"Since I won't be with you until tomorrow, don't you think that maybe we can enjoy the time until you go to pick up Sofia?"

Arizona gave Callie a mischievous smile. "I'd love it."

####################

"Are you sure about that?" Teddy asked concerned.

"Yes, Teddy, I'm telling you. I want to tell Arizona the truth. I need to do it but every time I try to do it, she avoids me." A few days had passed since Callie and Arizona were together and Callie knew that the more time went by, the more difficult it would be to tell Arizona the truth.

"She says she doesn't want to know. Maybe you should just leave things the way they are..." Teddy suggested, unconvinced.

"No... I can't do that to her..."

"But you know that if you tell her there's a possibility that - "

"I know. Believe me, I know." Callie sighed deeply. "But I think it's best."

"And when are you planning doing it?"

"I talked with Derek and I'll go to see him this weekend. I'll tell her everything when I get back."

"You think that Derek can operate on her now?"

"I hope so... I hope so..." Callie prayed every night for that.

"How long you will be there?"

"Who is leaving?" Arizona asked, embracing Callie from behind.

"Me..." Callie said timidly.

"What? You didn't tell me anything..." Arizona sat down in the chair next to Callie. "Where are you going?" Teddy was watching quietly.

"I need to go Seattle. My chief called me today and ask me to come back for a few days ." Callie hated to lie but it was necessary.

"So you're leaving me here alone..."

"Honey, I have to..."

Teddy knew that Arizona was joking but she also knew that Callie was feeling guilty so she decided to help. "Thank you, Arizona. You know? I used to be your friend before Callie stole you from me."

Arizona laughed. "Don't be jealous Teddy, I didn't say a word when you spent all your time with Henry."

"Who is Henry?" Callie asked curious.

"A patient."

"You're dating a patient?"

"Long story." Teddy answered quickly, trying to avoid the subject.

Arizona smiled when noticed Teddy blushing. "See? I told you that you should start calling him your boyfriend..."

"He is not!, Arizona. Maybe I shouldn't tell you anything..." Callie and Arizona laughed.

When the laugh finished Arizona asked Callie, "So, you're leaving this week...?" She was holding Callie's hand between hers.

"Yes, honey. But it's just a few days, we can talk..."

"Ok..." Arizona answered, resigned. "I guess I should change my plans."

"Did you have plans for us?"

"Yes, Sofia wanted to see a movie and the premiere is this Thursday so I was thinking I'd take both of you."

"Sorry, sweetie, perhaps next week?" Callie didn't want to be apart from Arizona for even a day, but she had to go to Seattle.

"Sure."

"Will you take care of her?" Callie said looking at Teddy.

"I always do." The answer was simple and true.

"I know, thank you." Teddy just smiled and nodded.

"I'm here, remember? Can you stop talking about me like I'm not in the room?"

Teddy's pager sounded. "I have to go." Teddy stood up and was a few steps away when she turned to Callie. "Call me later, please?"

"What? Why she should call you?" Arizona said pretending to be jealous.

"She's my friend remember? I introduced her to you!" Teddy yelled between laughs.

"You're right. Thank you Teddy! I can never thank you enough for that!" Arizona looked at Callie, who had a huge smile on her face. "I mean it, Callie, you and Sofia are the best things in my life. I never thought I would be happy, but now... you two are showing me that I was wrong..." Arizona's voice broke.

Callie had to fight back tears. She hugged Arizona tightly. "You are ours... you are ours, Arizona."

She checked her watch a third time in twenty minutes. Derek was fifteen minutes late, but to her it seemed like hours. Callie was paced continuously in the small room at the hospital. Teddy had given her as many of Arizona's scans as she could get, and Callie had them with her to show Derek.

Neither Callie nor Teddy told Arizona about this. Both agreed to talk to Arizona when Derek have a plan. They thought it best not to get Arizona's hopes up at this point.

"Callie, hi. I'm sorry I'm late. Zola decided to play hide and seek just as we were about to leave." Derek explained when he entered the room.

"Hello, it's ok. Sofia does the same when she doesn't want to go to daycare."

"How have you been? How is your project going?"

"We are fine, and the project is going perfectly, thank you. How are Zola and Mer?"

"They are fine too, I guess Zola is with Sofia now. They're growing up way too fast." Callie and Derek laughed. "But you seemed a little worried when you called me. What's wrong? "

Callie was thankful that Derek got to the point of their meeting. "I need you to look at these scans."

"Ok." Derek took the envelopes that Callie held out him. "It's a glioma, astrocytoma..." Callie nodded. "Do you know the symptoms?"

"Headaches, sometimes vomiting and tiredness." Callie paused. "And amnesia."

"When was this diagnosed? I can see she had a surgery."

"Almost five years ago." Callie saw the strange look on Derek face. "What?"

"She must be an incredibly lucky woman. It's not common for a person with this kind of tumor to have such a long life expectancy." Callie's heart sank at those words. "I don't get it. What do you want to I do?"

"I want you to remove the tumor"

Derek frowned. "Torres, that is impossible. The tumor is almost unapproachable. I could cause palsy, blindness, and that in the best case. I'm sorry, I can't"

"You don't get it, Derek. I need to you save her." Tears welled up in Callie's eyes. "You're the best in the country. You're Derek Shepherd."

"Callie, I can't -"

"Those are Arizona scans." Callie let out.

"Robbins?, Arizona Robbins?" Callie nodded. "Callie, I'm sorry. I didn't know"

"Please, Derek, you need to do something..." Callie begged.

"I - I'm " Derek sighed. "I would need all the scans and studies you can get, but I can't promise anything, ok?"

"Just tell me you'll try."

"I will. But I won't put her life in danger in any unnececcesary risk, do you understand?" Callie nodded. "Does she know you're here showing me these scans? Where is she and why she is not here?"

"She doesn't know who I am, or that I'm here with her scans. Teddy gave me them" Derek looked confused. "It's complicated..."

"Ok. You'll tell me some day. I have a surgery in a hour, so I need to go to get ready."

"You'll find a way, right?"

"I'll try. I promise." Derek turned to the door but he stoped before going out and thought a few seconds. "Callie, will you be here tomorrow?"

"Yes, why?"

"I hope you have free time because I want to discuss some things about our new case."

Callie smiled. "Of course I do. I have my whole life for it. Just tell me when."

Derek winked. "I'll call you later."

Callie took her phone. She had promised Teddy she would call her when she had talked with Derek. But before that, she needed to hear Arizona's voice.

"Hi, sweetheart, how you doing?"

"Callie!, I miss you babe..."

Teddy could wait a few more minutes.

"I miss you too, Arizona, Tell how is your day going..."
