Sofia watched the scene. She was standing a few steps away, just as Arizona asked her to do.

She knew that something bad was happening. Arizona seemed to be really mad at her mother, who was trying to catch Arizona, who refused to listen. She could hear their loud voices, but she wasn't able to understand the conversation.

Their argument made no sense to Sofia. Why were they talking about Africa? And Mark? Did Arizona know her father before? Why they were talking about her? Was she the reason that Arizona was upset and her mother was yelling at the doctor?

When Sofia felt a hand over her shoulder, she turned her head. "Aunt, Teddy." Her voice denoted that the child was nervous.

"Sof, what's going on?" Teddy gently squeezed Sofia's shoulder.

"Arizona told me I should wait here." Sofia answered without looking away from the scene. "Auntie, Teddy, could you tell Arizona not be mad with mommy, please?" Sofia didn't know what was happening, but was obvious that Arizona wasn't happy with Callie, and even the three year old girl noticed.

Teddy watched the three doctors arguing and had a bad feeling. "I guess she is mad because mommy wanted to hit the doctor." Sofia stated. "But she only wanted to do that because he hurt Arizona" Her eyes filled with tears.

"Excuse me? What?" Teddy asked quickly. "He what?!" She didn't have time to wait for an explanation. If Adam had hurt Arizona in any way - if he even tried - he'd pay for it. "Sofia, sweetie, wait here just a minute, please."

Sofia just nodded and sighed. "Ok, " she murmured to herself. Teddy was now next to her mother.

"Is that right, Callie?" Callie could feel the pain and anger in Arizona's voice.

"What's going on?" Teddy asked, trying to understand why Arizona seemed so upset.

"Perfect. The gang's all here.." Adam said when Teddy joined the group.

"I am waiting, Callie." Arizona completely ignored the Teddy's arrived.

"Arizona, I - " Callie tried to talk, but Adam interrupted her.

He looked at Arizona with a saucy smile. "I'll tell you more, Arizona. She didn't just know you, she was your girlfriend. But you seemed to not be enough for her, so she cheated you. You see that girl standing over there?" He pointed at Sofia, who was still waiting an adult to come to her. "She was the result."

And there it was. Arizona had to face the truth. A half truth, told in the worst way. Calllie closed her eyes, wanting to avoid seeing the pain on Arizona's face.

"Arizona... I - I'm sorry." That was all Callie could say. She was at a loss for words, frozen, as if stuck in a nightmare. How many times she tried to tell Arizona the truth and she couldn't? She didn't want to hurt Arizona, but nothing made sense now. The damage was even bigger and she needed to find a way to fix it. But was that even possible now?

"So, it is true,." Arizona claimed calmly. She watched Callie firmly.

Teddy glared at Adam. "Bastard." whispered. She wanted to give Callie the chance to talk before she could confront at Adam.

"Yes. No." Callie was nervous.

Arizona remained motionless. "Yes or no?"

"Arizona, it isn't completely right, we were - "

"Just a word!" Arizona yelled, frightening Callie.

"Yes." A clear answer, just as Arizona asked.

Arizona turned and looked at Sofia. A sad smiled appeared on her face. "She was hungry, you should take her to eat."

"Arizona, please, come with us, I promise I'll tell you all..." Callie begged.

Arizona ignored Callie and gave at Teddy a cold look. "You knew it, too. And you didn't say anything." Teddy didn't open her mouth. She knew this wasn't the time. She knew Arizona and she needed to process information before you could talk to her.

"Arizona, please..." Callie insisted, trying to catch Arizona's hand, to no avail. "We need to talk..."

Arizona gave looked at Callie sadly. "Not now." Replied firmly.

"But, Arizona I need to explain, we - "

"I said not now!." She wanted - she needed - to escape.

Callie nodded, biting her lips to avoid speaking. Arizona turned around to walk toward Sofia. "Arizona?" Callie said calling her attention. "Do you want to know the true? I love you. That's the truth."

Adam clapped, mocking Callie. "Excellent, Dr. Torres, you should be an actress."

"Shut up." Teddy squeezed his arm. "Don't say another word or you'll regret it."

Arizona paid no attention to him and went to Sofia. "Sof, honey, I can't go with you for lunch, something came up and I have to go..." She said softly, and knelt to hug her.

"You don't. You don't want go with us." Sofia claimed and dried a tear off her cheek.

Sofia's sadness broke Arizona's heart even more, if that was possible. "Baby, I have to go, really. But mommy will buy you a pizza, with extra cheese. What do you think?" Arizona tried to cheer her up.

"Do you want me to put away a slice for you?" Sofia asked, hopeful.

Arizona sighed. "I - I don't know... I'm not sure if I'll make it to your place tonight." Arizona kissed her.

"Ok." Sofia said pouting. "Will I see you tomorrow?"

Arizona didn't have an answer and she didn't want to lie, so she avoided answering. "I have to go now, sweetie, I'm late." She kissed Sofia again, though leaving her was felt so wrong.

"I've heard you're hungry." Callie said, fighting against the tears. Her throat was losing the war and the words came out weakly and flickering. Sofia just shrugged.

Arizona watched Callie briefly before leaving without say another word.

Teddy stood in front of Adam, blocking his path. She waited for Callie and Sofia to leave before she spoke. Teddy didn't want Callie or Sofia even more upset because of Adam. He had done to much damage already.

"Listen to me, and listen good, Adam. I don't want you near Arizona ever never again. I won't tell you again."

Adam laughed. "Dr. Altman. Are you threatening me? Because I have to tell you that Dr. Torres tried that and didn't go well... I'm not afraid of you, either." He kept smiling.

"Do you want play this game? Really?. I guess you know I've been in the war... I saw people die ... and I've killing people myself, too. I'm not proud of that. It's a heavy burden that you have to carry every single day... You wake up every single day with that feeling... I'm a doctor, it's supposed to heal people... I wasn't there to kill... And you wish you could turn back time and so that you had never done it but just a second after I remember why I did it... and I did it because I needed to protect people... to protect my people... and still hurt like hell, but I don't regret it. You have to make a choice. Arizona is my people now and I know my choice." Teddy spoke calmly and glance never left Adam's eyes. She wasn't playing. She'd protect Arizona.

"Have you finished? As a psychiatrist I highly recommend you start treatment. This is not a war zone. You go around threatening to kill people.

"I won't kill you, Adam. I'll make your life hell. And believe me, you'd probably wish that I had killed you." Their faces were barely an inch apart and neither blinked.

"You don't scare me, Altman. I've through a lot in my life. I know how to fight to get what I want... When I want something I don't stop. Nobody can stop me...I have patience... I wait for the right moment to jump, but if someone try to meddle with my plans ... " Adam sighed profusely. "I don't allow it."

"This is not a ring, doctors!" Xanders voice interrupted them. "Can you stop fighting in the middle of my Hospital! You're making a scene!" He sounded completely annoyed.

"I have work to do." Adam said as if nothing happened. He faked a smile and walked away, softly whistling an old song.

"This is unbelievable, Dr. Altman. You're one of best surgeons and I found you in - "

Teddy raised her hand to stop him. "Do you know what is unbelievable? That you have doctor like him in there... He is completely insane and he is supposed to heal people's mind... You doctor Sanders, were supposed to protect Dr. Robbins! I left for a few days and she lost her job because the doctor you assigned to take care of her is a lunatic! What do you think that Colonel Robbins would think about you...? He saved your son and you... what did you do to his daughter?" She closed her eyes and took a deep breath, trying to calm herself. "But I think would be better now for her to be far away from here..."

Xanders was shocked. "You're wrong... I did everything I could for Arizona... I allowed her to work here even when I knew her condition... "

"She is an excellent surgeon, she did a great job in this Hospital and you fired her like she was nothing. She didn't deserve that..."

"Altman, she needed treatment, she needs treatment and she won't take it! When doctor Boyd came here asking for a job with a formal request to be Dr. Robbins doctor I thought it would be the best for her... He has an impeccable record... I know him. He could get a job in any hospital... And I fought with the commission's Hospital to hire him... Don't say I didn't look out for her... because I did..."

"Wait a minute... He asked to be her doctor? He wasn't a doctor here?" Teddy asked worried.

"No... He arrived a few days after..."

"Dammit" Teddy murmured.

"What?" Xanders wanted to know what bothered Teddy.

"Nothing. I have to go." Teddy said rushed.

" I thought that your shift hadn't finish yet."

"I've quit my job. Have a good day." With that Teddy left the hospital. She had to find Arizona. They needed to talk. She had to explain why she didn't say anything about Callie and try to convince her to give Callie the opportunity to explain, too. But first, she wanted to call Mark. Something with Adam didn't feel right and they needed to figure out what…

####################

It had only been two minutes since she rang the bell but it felt like an hour. She couldn't stay still, even though she hadn't slept all night. She had practiced her speech a thousand times. She needed the right words to say. She knew that she didn't have a second chance if she wrecked this.

When she heard the keys starting to open the door her heart stopped for a seconds. "Teddy..." She couldn't hide the disappointment when Teddy appeared in front of the door yawning, half asleep.

"Callie... What are you doing here?" Teddy asked, trying to wake herself up.

Callie frowned. The answer was obvious even to a sleepy person. What could think Teddy she would be doing standing in the door of Arizona house? Of course she wanted to see Arizona. She spent the whole night awake waiting for this. She had left Sofia in daycare and rushed over. "I want to see Arizona, Teddy."

"I'm sorry but you can't" Teddy sighed. She didn't like to do that but it was necessary.

"What?" Callie asked, angry. Teddy couldn't do that to her. She knew the truth.

"Callie, please, don't make it more difficult..." Teddy walked outside, closing the door behind her.

Callie looked at her, confused. "More difficult? More difficult, Teddy? Are you fucking kidding me?" Callie yelled furiously. "How the hell this could be more difficult?" Being awake all night didn't help with her humor. She was afraid to lose Arizona and Teddy was impeding the only chance she had to fix the mess.

"Could you please stop yelling!?" Teddy said coldly. She wasn't in good mood either. Callie stopped herself immediately. She knew Teddy and she never talked like that. "Are you ready to listen me now?" Teddy asked softly when she noticed that Callie wasn't yelling anymore.

Callie nodded. "Callie, you can't see Arizona, right now... She is sleeping..."

"I can wait... I'll wait until she is awake... I need talk to her." When Teddy shook her head, Callie exploded in rage again. "Why are you doing this, Teddy? If you're here that means you had your chance... You talked to her... I need the same." Her eyes were teary. "I never wanted to hurt her, you know that..."

Teddy sighed. "Maybe it was my fault, maybe I never should have allowed you to get close to her again... I - "

"She loves me, Teddy! and you aren't her bodyguard. I'm not dangerous for God sake! And it is not your decision either! This is her house, if she doesn't want to see me, so she'll have to tell me!"

"She can't do that because we spent the whole night in the fucking hospital! She can't do that because she is sedated because she suddenly got sick! I had to carry her into the hospital and she was there again... and her blood pressure was high and they couldn't do anything... and... and I was there just watching and I couldn't help but wonder if all of this wasn't my fault... And - " Teddy bursted in sobs. Callie was frozen. Her heart stopped when she heard Teddy saying that Arizona wasn't well.

"And I was terrified that something happened to her. All of these years I lived trying to hide that feeling and last night reminded me that she is sick, Callie. She'll die someday and neither you nor me can do anything to change that... But I know that I'll do everything and anything to try to delay that moment... " Teddy dried her tears. "I can't allow you to talk to her now, because I'm not sure if she can handle it now... The doctor said she can't stressed"

"How... how is she?" Her heart was beating quickly.

"She is resting now... She'll be ok." Teddy smiled sympathetically. "I'm sorry... I didn't want to tell you in that way... It's just I'm - "

"It's ok. I get it. All that matter is her health. You're doing what you think is best... " Her voice trembled in pain. It was bad enough that she couldn't be with Arizona when she needed someone. The idea that she was the cause of her pain was killing Callie inside.

"Callie... really, I didn't want sound so rude..." Teddy was feeling awful now. Nothing that was happening was Callie's fault and she knew it. She hadn't intended to hurt her with her words.

"It's ok. Have the doctors said something more?" Callie said hesitantly. She felt completely out of place asking about Arizona's health, but she needed to know..

"No. nothing. Just rest. Nothing's changed."

"Ok..." Callie answer softly. "Well, I guess you want go back to sleep. Sorry for disturbing you."

"It's my fault. I should have called you."

Callie shook her head and laughed bitterly. "Why would you do that? All of these years you're the one who's been by her side. You're who she calls when she needs someone, not me. All I want is to be there for with her, but everything I do turns out wrong..."

"Arizona told me you and Sofia are the light in her life... for someone who is always doing wrong I think you're doing pretty well. Arizona has never about someone like that since the tumor." Teddy replied with a light smile.

Callie looked at her, intrigued. "But, she did before so... Because you said - "

"Yes. She did. She said the same words to talk about you, Callie. Everything will be fine. She needs a little to time to process all of this..." Teddy sighed thinking about how the things played out. "And I promise that in the meanwhile I'll update you about every single detail..." She smiled at her trying to cheer her up.

"Promise?" Callie wanted to ask for more, but she knew it was the best that Teddy would agree to for now. She could only hope that Teddy would keep her word. Teddy nodded. "I'll go now, but, Teddy, please call me... I'm begging you..."

"Callie, I promise... really."

"Ok. Bye." When Callie turned to leave she heard Teddy call her.

"Callie?" Callie looked at Teddy "Come here, you can see her a for few minutes. She is sleeping and I don't think she'll be awake any time soon... if you want see her ..."

Callie's face lit up. "Yes, please... Thank you..."

########################################

She felt exhausted. A week went by without any contact with Arizona. Teddy, as she promised, talked to her several times a day, but it wasn't the same.

She knew, due to talking with Teddy, that Arizona was much better now but she still refused to talk with her and Callie didn't want to take the risk of upsetting Arizona. Even when she was sure that Teddy was taking good care of Arizona, she couldn't help but feeling guilty about not being able to be there for her.

The last few days she had to spend all her time in her apartment. Not working was giving her too much free time to think and she wasn't happy about that, because the only thing she could think about was Arizona, and how she was missing her.

Callie let herself collapse on the couch. Sofia was resting in her room and she had a few minutes before she had to return to check on her. Callie closed her eyes, trying to rest for awhile. With everything going on, she hadn't been sleeping well. Unfortunately a soft knock on the door interrupted her attempt at rest.

She frowned, refusing to open her eyes. She knew that Mark wasn't coming so she guessed it was probably just a neighbour asking for something. When she heard a second knock she forced herself to get up and answer the door.

When she opened it her heart started pounding immediately. A pair of beautiful eyes were looking at her timidly.

"Hi..." Arizona said in a low tone, almost imperceptible.

"Arizona..." A smiled drew on Callie's face when she saw Arizona in front on her.

"Teddy told me Sofia is sick." Arizona rushed to explain.

"Oh... yes. Please, come in." Callie moved away to the door.

The tension was present in the air. Neither of them said a word for a few seconds.

"The doctor said it's the flu." Callie said awkwardly, as Arizona was clearly avoiding her gaze.

"Mmm, Can I ... Can I see her..?" Arizona asked hesitantly.

"Of course, Arizona. She'll be very happy to see you. She's missed you a lot..." Callie replied honestly. Sofia have been asking for Arizona since they left the hospital after the incident with Adam and Callie hadn't any real answer for her.

Arizona smiled at Callie's statement. " I've missed her too..."

"She isn't the only one who's missed you, Arizona... I've missed you so so much..." Callie couldn't stop herself from blurting out the confession. But she felt a pang in her heart when the only answer she got was Arizona watching the floor. Callie bit her lips, trying to control the tears forming in her eyes. "Ok... You know her room... you can go."

"I won't be long..." Arizona looked away from Callie quickly, not wanting to see the pain in her eyes.

"Arizona, take all the time you want...I'll be here so you can feel more comfortable..." Arizona nodded and walked to Sofia's room.

"Hi baby girl..." Arizona whispered to Sofia, who was passing the pages of a book resting in her bed.

"Arizona!" Sofia exclaimed in excitement when she heard the Arizona's voice.

Arizona rushed to the girl and hugged her tightly. "Hi Sof, how are you feeling honey?"

"I'm sick..."Sofia pointed as if it wasn't obvious just hearing her nasal voice.

"I know sweetie..." Arizona put her hand on Sofia's forehead. "You're a little warm... Have you taken your medicine?"

Sofia nodded proudly. "They're yucky, but I did it. Mommy said I'm a good girl..."

"Of course you are... and a very smart one..." Arizona kissed Sofia's cheek.

"Will you stay tonight?" Sofia asked, holding Arizona's hand.

Arizona sighed. She knew that Sofia would ask questions that she didn't want to answer, but knowing that Sofia was sick she felt the need to see her. She'd tried for the past ten days not to think about Sofia or her mother, but was impossible. "No. I want... Sorry."

"Are you still mad at mommy? Can you forgive her? She always forgive me when I do something wrong...Mommy says that when someone is really sorry, they deserve to be forgiven... and mommy is... I swear..."

Sofia was breaking her heart into pieces. "Sof, it isn't that... it's complicated... you don't have to worry about that, ok?"

"But I want you stay with me... please..." Sofia crying just wasn't making her visit easy.

"What about if I read you a story? What do you think?" She was rubbing Sofia's back, trying to calm her down.

"Yes...?" Sofia seemed pleased with Arizona's idea. "Mommy doesn't tell me the stories as good as you do..."

"Ok... you just lay here... " Arizona pointed to the bed.

"You too..." Sofia moved over, giving Arizona some space so she could lay in the bed too.

When both were comfortable, Arizona began to read the story. After a few minutes of doing the voices of the story she knew from memory, Arizona heard a soft snoring. She turned her head and saw that Sofia had fallen asleep. Sofia's head was resting over her shoulder. Carefully, she tried to moved the girl without waking her up. "Sleep tight, sweetie..." Arizona caressed Sofia's head, kissed her head.

When Arizona started to walk outside the room, she noticed that Callie was watching her from the door frame. Both left the room.

"She need take fluids. Don't forget to control her fever, she was a little warm, but while I was reading I put compresses on her, I think the fever is down for now..."

"Yes I saw you... Thank you. And don't worry. I'll take care of her, I'm a doctor too, you know?" Callie said playfully. She loved the way Arizona cared about Sofia.

"I'm sorry... You're right. I shouldn't say anything." Arizona answered coldly. She didn't take Callie's words in the right way.

"What?, No Arizona... I didn't mean it like that... I really appreciate that you care about Sof... really... Sorry." Callie smiled at her trying to show her that she never wanted to sound rude.

"Ok..." Arizona watched at Callie for a few seconds, not saying a word. Both were lost in their glances. "You look tired."

"You look beautiful." Callie pointed lovingly.

"I better go now." Arizona started to walk towards the door.

"I miss you, Arizona." Callie's voice broke. She didn't want to lose the chance to talk with her.

Arizona stopped and closed her eyes. "Not now, Callie..."

Can we talk, please?" Callie asked nervously.

"Today is not a good day, Callie. I'm just here to see Sofia."

"Please..." She begged. She didn't wait for Arizona's answer. "Arizona, I know I made a mistake... and I'm sorry, but I love you..."

"A mistake?, A mistake, Callie? You call playing with me a mistake?" Arizona asked angrily.

"I never did that, Arizona." Callie felt offended by Arizona's words. "Yes, maybe I should talked to you sooner, but I couldn't... I tried, but..."

"Maybe!?" Arizona yelled while she walked into the living room.

"Ok!, I should have told you! But, how was I supposed to do that when you asked me not to talk about your past?"

"Great. Now it's my fault you betrayed me... I didn't know you were my girlfriend... I have a brain tumor, you know? And I have amnesia! You do remember that, right?" Arizona asked sarcastically.

"Of course I remember, Arizona... and that was one of the reasons kept my mouth closed." Callie answered sadly.

"Yeah... and now, the sickness card... Poor Arizona, she is dying, don't tell her the truth..." Arizona was furious, she wasn't hearing Callie.

"What? Arizona, you know that is not true... I never treated you as a sick person... I always respected you." Callie said calmly trying to calm Arizona.

"Well, you didn't do a great job with that..." Arizona was frightened when Callie took her hand suddenly.

"No. You're right. I didn't ... because I was so scared you'd leave me that I decided to wait for the perfect moment..." She laughed bitterly. "When I saw you the first time and you acted as you didn't know who I was, I was so angry... and hurt... But so happy to see you again... then Teddy told me about your tumor and why you didn't recognize me. All I could think about was how I could help you... and we thought that it was better to keep the secret for a while..." Callie dried a tear off Arizona's cheek. "A few days later, I was so in love with you - as much or more than I was five years ago... and I swear I wanted tell you the whole truth, but I decided to take the risk if that meant you'd have the best treatment... I prayed that if you figured out before I toldl you, you could forgive..."

"Did you do all of this because a revenge? Did you do this because I left you five years ago?" Arizona was sobbing.

"What? No, Arizona, god... Of course not... Why are you thinking that... Do you remember something, Arizona?" Callie asked confused.

Arizona shook her head. "Adam told me the truth..."

"Adam?" Callie breathed deeply, trying to calm herself down. "Arizona, Adam wants to hurt you and he didn't tell the truth... I did this because I love you... I love you, Arizona... And I could be wrong... and I shouldn't keep the secret, but I did it because I love you... I never wanted to hurt you... I hope you can trust me, because there are just one truth, and that is that I'm completely crazy in love with you and I'd do anything for you..." Callie took Arizona's face between her hands. "I love you, Arizona. Do you believe me?"

Arizona didn't know what to believe, if Adam was right, Callie wanted hurt her. If Callie was right, she was trying to protect her. "I - I don't know what to believe, Callie... I - "

Arizona's doubts was killing her. How could Arizona doubt of her love? "Ok, maybe you can feel it, so." Callie kissed Arizona passionately. Her mind could be confused, but a heart is never wrong.

When the kiss was over Arizona, opened her eyes. "Can I get a glass of water?" she asked timidly.

That wasn't the answer that Callie was wanting, but she noticed that Arizona was sweating and paler than usual. "Sure, right away." When Callie returned with the water Arizona was sitting on the couch. "Are you alright, Arizona?" Callie felt guilty that their conversation could have caused stress at Arizona.

After a few sips Arizona was able to answer. "Yes, sorry. But Dr. Evans changed my meds and my body is trying to get used to it..."

"But is everything fine?" Callie forgot about what they were talking about and now was absolutely worried again.

Arizona shrugged. "Yes... I guess..." Arizona replied casually..

"I guess, Arizona? Really?" Callie was mad about Arizona answer. "Maybe I should take you the hospital."

"That's not necessary, Callie, I'm fine."

Callie knelt in front Arizona and put her hand over Arizona's knees. "Baby... Sorry, Arizona" She couldn't contain herself. "Sorry, was the... you know..." Arizona nodded sadly. "If you want to know how things happened, I'll tell you... if you never want it..." Callie sighed. "Ok... I'll be waiting you forever I guess... I'll be here loving you in silence... But, please, please, Arizona, swear me that you'll go see Dr. Shepherd. And please... stay away from Adam... He is a bad person..."

"Callie... I can't keep talking about that right now..." Arizona stood.

"No... I get it... Promise me you'll take care, and when you feel a little better we'll talk..." Callie caressed Arizona's cheek.

"Callie..." Arizona warned.

"Ok... Ok..." Callie sighed.

"I'll go, Callie. Say bye to Sofia."

"Wait!, I don't like you go alone... but I can't leave, Sofia...I could - " Callie was rambling nervously.

"Callie, it's Ok, really."

"No. At least let me walk with you to the car..."

"Callie, it's not necessary, really..." Callie didn't want to hear Arizona. In a few seconds both were in the elevator. "Callie, I'm not alone..." Arizona said feeling herself culpable.

"Were you with Teddy? Why she didn't she come up with you?" When Callie opened the door she couldn't believe what she saw.

"Dr. Torres... Thanks for bring her..." Adam said sarcastically.

Callie looked at Arizona, who avoided Callie's gaze. "Adam, please, just go." Arizona walked towards him.

"Have you told her?" Adam asked at Arizona.

When she didn't answer Callie couldn't resist the urge to ask. "Tell me what?"

"We are leaving... In a few weeks we're moving to London."

Callie opened her mouth but not words came out. She looked at Arizona, praying that she would deny Adam's words. But Arizona got on the car and left with Adam.
