A/N: I am so sorry. I have been away for 2 years and just left you all at a horrible point. I lost my muse when it came to writing because I have been working so hard on my artwork (CKW-Art on Facebook and Instagram if you're interested). Yet here we are now! I hope you enjoy your new chapter and don't hate me too much!

Jareth begrudgingly allowed the healers to see to his wounds as he kept his eyes locked on Kaye who was currently laying in his bed.

"Aquis has informed us that she is on a different plane than us right now. She is locked inside her own mind." Chase said calmly as he walked into Jareth's room. Jareth nodded at this information, running through his mind about what he could do.

"Damn Fae King." Chance grumbled as he glared down at the floor.

Kaye looked around the brightly lit room, everyone laughing and dancing around her in the most beautiful costumes and masks that she had ever seen. Her eyes searched the crowd but she couldn't quite remember who she was looking for, the shadow of the person she was trying to remember tickling the back of her mind.

"Would you like to dance?" A man asked that suddenly appeared in front of her, his large hand taking her own without an answer. Kaye gasped as she was swept away to the floor, momentarily blinded by the man's bright gold mask and suit. She blinked a couple of times as she took in the deep blue velvet gloves on her arms before looking down at her body.

Kaye was dressed in a beautiful deep blue ball gown, diamonds cascading down from the sleeveless heart shaped corset along to the flowing skirt. It reminded her of a beautiful night sky.

"Hate to cut in." Another man said, before taking Kaye's waist and twirling her away with him. She looked up to see he had a red devils mask and was dressed in a pure black suit. Her time went like this for what felt like ages, men and women alike taking her hand or waist and twirling across the floor with her, no one really speaking, just laughing or offering her a drink or bite of food.

"Excuse me, I need to rest my feet for a moment," Kaye said, backing away from the woman in a peach-colored dress and elegant black hair. Kaye moved over to sit at a small round table at the back of the ballroom that was next to a large funhouse mirror. She looked around as she caught her breath, her face flushed with a smile. This place was fun, too bad Jareth wasn't here with her.

Kaye pulled back slightly, the smile on her face falling.

'Jareth? Who is that?' She pondered, trying to remember. Kaye brought her hand to her chest, grabbing a hold of the necklace there as she tried to rack her memory, her eyes unfocused on the floor before her.

"I know that pendant." A soft female voice said from beside her, pulling Kaye's eyes up to her face.

"I'm sorry?" Kaye asked, studying the woman's face. She was beautiful, and the only other one she had met without a mask. She was older than her, probably about 50 years old, grey streaks running through her chocolate brown hair. She had soft wrinkles around her eyes and mouth, showing that she laughed often, that was deepened slightly now as she smiled gently at the young woman next to her.

"The pendant you are wearing, I saw that many years ago." The woman repeated. Kaye looked down at it, her fingers running along the gold symbol.

"It's from... someone important."

The woman watched as her brow furrowed in an upset as she tried to remember.

"You're not from the Underground, are you?"

It didn't really sound like a question, more of an accusation to Kaye as she looked back to her.

"I don't mean to be rude, but who are you?"

The woman let out a laugh as she tilted her head back.

"Smart question to ask in a place like this my dear. My name is Sarah."

Kaye blinked as she looked at her. Sarah... that was familiar.

"Do you know who you are?"

"Me? I... My name is Kaye. Where am I?"

The older woman smiled sadly at her.

"I'm guessing you are trying to find someone you have lost? Or was taken from you?"

"Yes... Jareth. I was trying to find him..." Kaye mumbled as she started to look around again, searching all the masked people before her.

"Mmm, did you wish away a sibling, or perhaps your child?" Sarah asked. "It's alright if you have. Many others have done it before you."

Kaye pulled her hand away as Sarah went to place hers on top of it.

"What? No! I would never do that!" Kaye stood up, backing away from the woman who looked at her in shock. "I wished myself away. I wished that Jareth would save me!"

Sarah stood from the glass table, the soft white silk gown flowing around her like water as she did.

"What? Save you? Child, do you know who this man, this being!, is? What he's done?"

Kaye shook her head at this as she clung to the pendant around her neck.

"I don't care what he's done before. He's kind and protective and cares about what I want. I remember you now. You're the woman who broke his heart. The one who denied his love." Kaye said, backing up again.

"I'm the one he tried to trick into being so afraid of him that I would bow down to his will! He is a master manipulator Kaye! He is not to be trusted!" Sarah yelled, trying to get her to see things from her side. "I have saved many a young woman from his labyrinth over the years with my friends. He has gotten nothing but crueler and more vicious as time has passed. Come with me, let me help you."

Kaye shook her head, backing up further still until she bumped into the deviled masked man from before.

"No, I need to find Jareth. I'm sorry he was cruel to you, but he's a better person now."

Sarah's face went serious as she looked at the young woman before her.

"If he's such a better person, why are you here now? You can only come to this room if you have been magiced to do so." Sarah told her, walking towards her.

"What? I... I don't remember... I..." Kaye tried to force herself to remember more of what was going on but nothing was coming to the front of her mind.

"He wouldn't..."

"But he has. He even did it to me when I was getting to close to being able to leave. He has spun you mornings of gold, but you can't be blinded by all that. You need to break free and come back to the Above-ground."

Kaye squeezed her eyes shut as she clutched the necklace with both hands.

"Jareth would never..." Kaye mumbled, her voice weak and not holding the confidence she had before.

"It's okay. He's been doing this for years, you were upset and he took advantage of that. I'll help you get out of here and I'll also help you Above. It's okay."

Sarah placed her hand on Kaye's shoulder, looking down at her with sad eyes. Kaye lifted her head, brown and blue clashing as her thoughts whorled together.

"No. I believe in him. I believe in the man that gave me this."

Kaye pulled away and rushed into the large crowd of people, Sarah calling after her as she went.
