Alright, here we go. Shit's about to go down. It's going to be a mostly original chapter with certain canon scenes mixed in, and I hope you enjoy it! Also, I have a question that I really could use some feedback on from a reader's perspective so please read the author's note at the end! 3 (Also I made a new fic cover! Check it out!)

Siren strode into the room of the STAR Labs facility with Miss Martian, taking a mental roll call of the people who had gathered when Nightwing called. Something to do about a stranger who helped Alpha Squad escape the LexCorp farm they were assigned to investigate.
"Good, you're here," her co-leader said once they approached the group.
"What's this about?" Siren fell straight into her role as leader, crossing her arms as she looked over to examine the...Green...Beetle sitting in the middle of the room.
"Well, we're hoping Miss M can help us figure that out. This Green Beetle seemed to be on the side of the angels when Alpha Squad met him, but we can't be too careful."
Siren's eyes narrowed. "Yeah, you'd know about being too careful, wouldn't you," she muttered.
She ignored Nightwing's immediate 'what?' as she turned to face Miss Martian. "Can you handle it?" she asked carefully, watching her friend in concern.
Miss Martian looked hesitant, but she nodded either way. She looked over at the metaphorical elephant in the room and approached him cautiously.
"I'm not very comfortable with this," she admitted as Siren edged closer to keep a worried eye on her psychic teammate. "Delving into your mind, it- it is an intrusion."
Since Siren had been told everything that Miss Martian did, it all made so much sense as to why her teammate had been so wary to delve into people's minds since freeing the hostages on the Reach ship. She didn't blame Miss M and had made sure that she understood that, but she could still see what had changed in the Martian woman. And Siren just wanted to make sure she was okay.
"You have my permission," the Green Beetle assured. "We must be able to trust each other."
He then gave what looked to be an extremely poor attempt at a comforting smile, but it only made Miss Martian recoil with a sharp intake of breath. Siren's nose wrinkled in unease as well.
"Does my smile displease?" Green Beetle wondered, the wide, grotesque grin still plastered on his face. "Is this not how humans display friendship and put each other at ease?" Not when it looks like that.
"There has to be another way," Superboy growled.
The leaders glanced back at him, one with more curiosity than the other.
"Look, I'm not sure what the Martian etiquette is here, but Green Beetle is right. We need to trust each other," Nightwing pointed out. "Which means we need to confirm he is who he says he is."
"Not if M'gann isn't comfortable with doing it," Siren sharply added, glaring at Nightwing's questioning gaze.
"Miss M is our only real option," he countered.
Siren crossed her arms, looking away with a frown. She made accidental eye contact with Superboy but thought nothing of it.
"Go for it, Angelfish," Lagoon Boy encouraged his girlfriend. "Reading this guy will be a piece of crab cake."
"Please, proceed with the mind link," Green Beetle agreed.
Siren's hand on her bicep tightened as she took a step forward. Forget it. They're starting to pressure her when she clearly doesn't want to do it. We'll find another way.
But she paused when Miss Martian took a deep breath. There was a lull in conversation as the two Martians began to converse through an obvious mind link, the silent gestures making that much obvious.
When their eyes stopped glowing, Miss Martian turned to face the team leaders. "Green Beetle is on our side."
Nightwing stepped past Siren to continue the conversation, but she didn't budge. Her eyes landed on her co-leader's back as she watched him speak with Green Beetle, but anything he said was lost to her.
How could he lie to me? After everything we've been through together. The eight years of friendship...do they even matter anymore?
Siren's subconscious frown deepened. And on top of still reeling from finding out the truth, she had to deal with a stranger in their midst, one that they had no choice but to trust. All while Kaldur, the man she had loved more than anything else in the world, was potentially beyond repair. Which left Artemis, her best friend who had faked her death, in danger.
This is just getting to be too much. I- I don't know if-
"Is everything okay?"
Siren blinked to refocus her thoughts, glancing from the corner of her eye at Banshee who had come up beside her. She merely nodded, forcing herself to keep her head in the game. It wasn't the time to have a mental breakdown.
"-this consumable contains the Reach's additive, which combines microscopic quantities of two chemicals," Green Beetle had been explaining. "One is a dopamine polymerase, the other an adrenaline inhibitor."
Siren glanced down at the two drinks he held in his hand. She had seen the product out in stores, noticing how they had seemed to appear nearly overnight. She was mindful to steer clear, and now, she was glad she did.
Green Beetle continued, "Taken over generations, they will slowly addict the entire population to Reach and make the people of Earth placid, literally incapable of revolt."
"That matches up exactly with Flash and Atom's analyses of the additive sample acquired from Lex Corp," Nightwing mused.
Green Beetle looked disheartened. "Ah, I see. Still, I am...tested."
Siren's lips thinned. She didn't want to assume the worst, but with everything that had been happening lately, it was hard to just believe everything they were told. Not that we should do that in the first place.
Nightwing sighed. "Look, we're sorry, but-"
"No, it is wise," Green Beetle quickly reassured. "As they say on your world, 'all cards must be off the table.'"
"'On the table.'" Blue Beetle shied away as quickly as he interrupted when Banshee elbowed him. "Uh, I mean- Never mind. Ignore me."
"On the table, yes. That does make more sense," Green Beetle realized. "So here is my final card on the table...My scarab informs me that the additive also contains a mitochondrial marker which works as a meta-gene tracer, allowing The Reach to identify and isolate potential superpowered individuals."
Shit. Nightwing's eyes widened at the same time as Siren tensed up. "Making it easier to harvest and weaponize the meta-gene!" he voiced out loud. "Our analysis didn't reveal that. Thank you."
"Can't we go public with this?" Blue questioned the leaders.
Siren pinched the bridge of her nose. "We'll get in contact with Captain Atom, but with the League's credibility being as low as it is..." She grimaced.
"We'll probably have to bide our time," Nightwing agreed, making Siren nod. "Good work, everyone. Meeting adjourned."
Banshee stretched his arms above his head. "Good. I'm two seconds away from collapsing."
Siren ruffled his hair. "Get some rest. I'll see you on patrol tonight," she promised.
Her eyes trailed over to her co-leader as he approached Green Beetle, a frown slipping back on her face once more. I still don't know what to say to him. Or how to do it without blowing up.
As Miss Martian and Lagoon Boy passed by the blonde, the latter grabbed his girlfriend's arm. "So, Angelfish, could we go somewhere private...to talk?"
Miss M hesitated, sparing a glance back at Siren, then over to Superboy who was near her. Siren's brow furrowed when Superboy visibly shrugged before walking off. Something's happening between those two.
"Um, sure, La'gaan," Miss M answered eventually. "We can talk at my uncle J'onn's apartment in Chicago."
As she listened to Miss Martian's response, Siren began to walk away. She supposed she wasn't the only one with an overdue conversation to have.
Nightwing had cornered her once she got near the Zeta-Tube. "Si, are you feeling okay?"
Siren stared at him for a split second, silently cursing the fact that it was always so much harder to tell what one was thinking when they wore a mask over their eyes. She quickly averted her gaze, knowing that she'd get nowhere.
"Peachy," she waved off. "I'll contact Captain Atom the first chance I get, so, keep me updated on everything else."
She didn't give Nightwing a chance to answer, setting the coordinates for Star City into the Tube. Then she was gone with a flash.

April 9, 05:15 PDT
"Sorry for the early call, Captain."
Jenna sat at the table in her kitchen, laptop open and on a video call to the Watchtower, with a coffee mug within reach since she had yet to go to bed.
"That's alright, Jenna. How did Alpha Squad's mission go yesterday?"
Jenna sighed, her grip around the mug handle tightening. "It went."
She launched into a brief overview of everything that happened. Her protégé had kept her up to date since she hadn't been at the debrief in person, and he had left a huge spiel on her phone to read after her conversation with M'gann.
In short, they found the information that they went for but unfortunately encountered Black Beetle again, barely escaping with their lives. They might have been goners if it wasn't for the newcomer.
"With everything going on, I don't know who we can trust," she admitted, meeting Captain Atom's gaze on the computer screen.
"The best we can do is keep an eye on him. But Miss Martian did confirm his intentions, correct?"
In her hesitation, I'm not sure. "Yes," came out of her mouth instead.
"We can trust her and her abilities undoubtedly."
Are you trying to reassure me? "Of course."
Suddenly, Jenna's phone rang loudly. Her eyes zeroed in on where it lay face-down on the table. Her brow furrowed, wondering who might be calling so early in the morning. But she quickly silenced her phone so she could focus on the current conversation.
"So what about the Reach drinks? We can't let them stay on the market if what they do is as bad as we think," she said worriedly.
"I'll see what strings I can pull about the Reach and their collaboration with LexCorp." Captain Atom then sighed. "There may not be much we can do though."
Jenna's lips thinned. "I know. So does Nightwing."
Just then, her phone began to ring again as another call was coming through. Who in the world...
"Go ahead and take that," Captain Atom encouraged. "We'll speak more later."
Jenna nodded subconsciously, eyes trained on her phone as she bade farewell to the League's leader before he hung up. Once the video screen disappeared, she picked up her phone, turning it over to see who was trying to get ahold of her.
Dick? Jenna frowned, but she decided to answer. "Yeah?"
"Jenna." Her ears immediately picked up on the stress in her friend's tone. "You need to get to Chicago. Now."
Her heart rate spiked as she braced herself for the worst. "Why? What happened?" she managed to get out.
As she hurried around her apartment to gather necessary items, her blood ran cold at Nightwing's next words.
"It's M'gann. She's been kidnapped."
~/~/~/~
Jenna rushed down the hall as quickly as it was deemed appropriate in a hospital, already knowing the room number since Nightwing had texted it to her as soon as they were admitted.
She dodged a nurse walking by, idly wondering how in the hell they managed to get La'gaan admitted for his injuries since he didn't exactly appear human, but she knew that there were bigger things to worry about. And huge questions that needed answered immediately since Nightwing didn't have time to explain. This is crazy.
"What. Happened," Jenna demanded the moment she opened the door.
Lagoon Boy was struggling against Nightwing's and Superboy's hold, not that he could go anywhere with a broken leg. "Neptune's Beard! Let go of me!" he demanded. "I've got to save M'gann!"
"La'gaan, calm down," Nightwing said exasperatedly. "There's nothing you can do for her in your condition."
Lagoon Boy settled momentarily, instead turning to glare at Superboy. "Then what about him? Why isn't he rescuing her?" he countered. "I know you dumped her, but do you really hate her that much?"
Jenna's mouth opened, ready to come to her friend's defense but he beat her to it. "You have no idea what I feel for her!" he said angrily.
Lagoon Boy scoffed. "You're right. Because I would never abandon her to Kaldur and his flunkies." What?
"Will someone please explain the situation to me?" Jenna snapped, throwing her hands up.
Lagoon Boy looked to the end of the bed where she was standing. "Don't you get it? That's who took her," he answered. "Aqua-traitor's personal ninja pal, Tigress!"
Artemis took M'gann? Jenna's eyes widened slightly.
"And when I get out of here, I'm going to personally hunt him down and-"
Jenna's eyes narrowed. "That's enough." Her tone was stern and left no room for arguments.
All three guys paused—Lagoon Boy's struggling and the other two's attempts to keep him still—and turned to stare at Jenna. But she looked at one person in particular with a scathing glare.
"Tell them. Now," she ordered Nightwing.
The former Boy Wonder's eyes widened, likely in shock that she seemed to know the truth and wondering how she found out. Then he slowly turned back to Lagoon Boy and Superboy.
"I'm not supposed to tell you...to tell anyone," he started, looking back at Jenna who just raised an eyebrow, "but Aqualad is not a traitor."
The boys froze in shock before shaking out of their fog. Superboy crossed his arms while Lagoon Boy spoke, "What are you talking about? He killed Artemis!"
"No, he didn't," Nightwing confessed, sinking into a chair nearby. "Aqualad has been on a deep cover mission for months, infiltrating Black Manta's troops, the Light, and the Reach. We faked Artemis' death. She's alive."
He lifted his head to make eye contact with Jenna who hadn't looked away from him. Her stare was ice cold. "In fact, Artemis is Tigress. If she kidnapped Miss Martian, there has to be a good reason," Nightwing surmised.
Lagoon Boy rounded on Jenna, brow furrowed. "Why am I only hearing this now? I mourned Artemis. Neptune's Beard, I tried to tear Kaldur limb from limb," he said, voice rising as he continued. "You two should have told me!"
"I didn'tknow," was all Jenna said, crossing her arms. "Not until last night."
"You didn't even tell her?" Lagoon Boy snapped at Nightwing, appalled. "What were you thinking?"
"Nightwing's our leader," Superboy interrupted. "We put our trust in him. I'm sure he didn't keep this from us...from all of us"—he shared a look with Jenna—"without having his reasons."
"Look, we will figure this out. Together," Nightwing promised as he stood, clearly wanting to end the conversation. "In the meantime, get some rest."
Jenna was the first to leave the room, sinking in one of the chairs that sat across the hall. She put her head in her hands, refusing to look up.
"Thanks for backing me up in there," Nightwing said gratefully once he had shut the door.
"You don't leave a guy a lot of options," Superboy immediately turned on the team's co-leader. "You have no idea what your secrets have done to us."
Nightwing sounded offended. "What does that-"
"M'gann believed Kaldur had killed Artemis," Superboy continued, making Jenna jerk her head up with a gasp. "So when she found him on the Reach ship, she fried his brain."
"You know too?" Jenna said, ignoring the wave of sickness that washed over her at his reminder. So that's why he seemed so against M'gann using her powers to search Green Beetle.
Superboy turned to Jenna, searching her face. He eventually nodded. "That's got to be why Artemis grabbed her. To try and save Kaldur's broken mind."
"Does she even know how?" Jenna asked weakly.
"No," Superboy answered, rounding back on Nightwing. "So Manta may just kill her and kill Tigress if she blows her cover trying to save her."
He turned his back on the two, not even bothering to look at Nightwing anymore. "And we'll have lost all three of them because you thought it was a bad idea to share."
Jenna watched from her hunched position as the Kryptonian walked away.
After an extended silence, Nightwing sighed. "That could have gone better."
Jenna scoffed. "You're damn right it could have."
After a beat, she turned her head to glare at Nightwing. His shoulders were tense, his expression full of guilt.
"Jen-"
"No. You're going to shut up and listen."
Nightwing went silent when she stood, examining her face carefully as if to try to determine what she would say next.
What she ended up saying was, "I, of all people, know that being a leader calls for difficult decisions to be made, but what the hell were you thinking?"
Jenna's fist tightened at her side. "When did you decide that it was a good idea to let two of your friends risk their lives to go deep undercover, but to also neglect to tell your other friend, one that has been by all of your sides since the beginning?" she demanded to know.
She slowly took a step forward, moving over to where Nightwing was standing to make him turn and face her. "You, me, Kaldur, Wally...we started this whole thing. We promised that there would be no secrets between us, not after the mole incident," she continued, running a hand through her hair. "And I'd say that letting Kaldur become a double agent that would pretend to kill Artemis is a pretty damn big secret."
"I know, and I'm sorry. I just...you've had a lot on your plate for a while and I didn't want to add more to it," Nightwing finally spoke up, but, upon seeing Jenna's steely glare, better have immediately regretted doing so at all.
"So you think the heartbreak of my boyfriend betraying us all wouldn't add to it? That the death of my best friend wouldn't?" she ranted. "Do you have that little trust in me to where you'd think that I would be so overwhelmed with classes, leading, and teaching Sam, that I couldn't keep my shit together?"
Jenna reached out, poking him sharply in the chest. "In case you forgot, Dick, I've been running this show long before you," she pointed out.
At that point, there was hardly any space between her and Nightwing, giving her no problem in looking him dead in the eye thanks to them being close enough in height. There was one beat, then two.
"You better hope your little plan doesn't fall out and that Kaldur, Artemis, and M'gann don't get killed because of it," Jenna warned before taking a deep, measured breath. "Or so help me, Richard Grayson, I will never speak to you again."
Nightwing blinked once and she was already a few steps away, staring him down. A moment passed as she waited, with the little bit of confidence she had left in him, for a response. But he didn't seem to have any.
So with a disappointed shake of her head, Jenna turned around and walked off, pulling out her phone to make a call along the way.
~/~/~/~
Jenna banged her fist on the door in front of her, every pound making her angrier than the last since the person she had been trying to call wasn't answering. And she had been trying for weeks.
"Wallace Rudolph West, I swear to everything above, if you don't answer this door right now-"
The door swung wide open to reveal her friend looking both confused and wary.
"Jen, what are you-"
She didn't give him a chance to finish his sentence before she shoved past him to enter his house. His and Artemis' dog, Brucely, even seemed to want to avoid the blonde's anger as he slunk away from trying to greet her.
Once Wally had shut the front door, Jenna rounded on him. "You are going to explain to me why Kaldur went undercover as a double agent, why he pretended to kill Artemis, and why she is undercover with him now," she snapped. "And you better do it quickly before I lose the little amount of patience I have left."
Wally closed his eyes, sighing. "Dick finally told you?"
"Actually, no. M'gann did because she searched Kaldur's mind and the guilt was eating her up."
"What? Why?" Wally asked, brow furrowed in worry.
Jenna crossed her arms, cocking an eyebrow. "You first."
They stared each other down until Wally sank into the couch cushions and began to retell everything.
Jenna knew the basics at that point, but she still listened as Wally reiterated what Nightwing had said before. He explained how both Kaldur and Nightwing devised the plan for the former to be a double agent and infiltrate the Light to discover their plans and new partner. How they wanted to minimize the risk of Kaldur's cover being blown so originally it had been the two of them that knew.
"Well, clearly that changed since Artemis is involved and you at least know about it," Jenna pointed out, not having budged from her spot in front of the coffee table.
"I'll have you know that I never wanted this to happen," Wally said, trying to defend himself. "You know that Artemis and I had left the life behind after Tula died. But things changed."
He continued to say that Kaldur was having to prove his loyalty to his father and the Light more and more. Many were still skeptical so Kaldur and Nightwing knew that he had to take a risk. And eventually, they decided that the risk would be to 'kill' an old teammate to prove that he was no longer on their side.
"So they had a second chance to clue me in, but still didn't," Jenna muttered, feeling a pang of hurt in her chest. After everything we've been through.
"I only just found out when Artemis agreed to help if I was brought into the fold," Wally continued, either not having heard his friend or not knowing how to justify his other friends' decisions.
Jenna glared at the redhead. "So you've known all this time and you still didn't tell me."
Wally looked away. "I'm sorry," he muttered.
"Are you though?" Jenna accused. "Forget risk. At this point, four of you knew this, but somehow thought that I couldn't handle it or that my knowledge would somehow be the one thing to accidentally blow Kaldur's cover."
She paced the living room floor. "And now, thanks to your little secret, Kaldur might be in a catatonic state forever, leaving Artemis to be found out anyway, and possibly getting killed alongside M'gann."
Wally's eyes went wide as he stood up abruptly. "What?"
"M'gann confronted Kaldur when we went to find the four missing team members," Jenna explained irritably. "And guess what? She thought Kaldur had actually killed Artemis so she destroyed his mind."
She threw her hands up to tug at the roots of her hair in distress. "So who I now know is Artemis kidnapped her so she could try to bring Kaldur back. Which they have to do before the three of them are found out," she continued, voice slowly rising in volume out of both anger and fear. "And they'll probably have to find a way to get M'gann out without her dying. All because of this stupid plan!"
She dropped her hands and her head, squeezing her eyes shut. "And despite all of this, what makes me the angriest is that my best friends lied to me," she whispered.
"Jen, I'm-"
She held up a hand, keeping Wally from fully approaching her. "Don't. I don't want to hear any apologies because I don't know if those are true either," she muttered.
She was tired. Frustrated. And she didn't want to talk to any of her friends anymore. So, she crossed back over to the door, walking out of Wally's home and slamming it shut behind her.
At first, she didn't know where she was going. Then, because she was so lost in thought, her feet led her to a Zeta-Tube and her fingers typed in a specific location of their own accord.
"Recognized: Siren, B-zero-two."
Jenna looked up when the announcement ended. She briefly glanced around to ensure that she was alone, but considering the Tube was located in an old junkyard, she already knew she was.
It was even messier than a junkyard would be. Clear signs of a tussle. Oh, M'gann...I hope you and Artemis know what you're doing.
Shoving her hands in her pockets, she wandered around the area. She wasn't really sure why she wanted to. There weren't going to be any clues as to where they might have gone. Artemis was too smart for that...and, well, surely she had a good reason for what she did.
Of course she did. She did it for Kaldur. If they were desperate enough to kidnap M'gann...it's worse than we think.
She continued to walk around the hood of a car, eyeing where a couple of them seemed to have been launched. She was putting up a fight. Or pretending to anyway. But something caught her attention as she walked around.
Her foot hit something near a back tire, causing her to look down. The toe of her sneaker brushed against the pristine voice recorder that was just barely out of view. It was too nice of a device to be in a junkyard.
Jenna knelt on one knee, being careful as she picked the recorder up off the ground. She wouldn't have done otherwise if it didn't already have a few minutes of recording on it. And her gut told her to listen.
Her thumb pressed the playback button.
The first sound was a long sigh. One she recognized all too well even though the proximity of the noise made the microphone crackle.
"Hey, Jen. It's me."
Jenna's throat tightened upon hearing her best friend's voice again. It was at a lower register, but she'd recognize it anywhere. God, I missed her.
"If I know you, and I do, by now you know the truth. So you came here even if you didn't know why you'd need to, which is why you're listening to this now," Artemis' voice continued to say. "...To start off, I just want to say I'm sorry."
Jenna bit her lip, the ache in her chest becoming almost unbearable. Guess if I won't let Wally apologize, she'll do it for him anyway.
"I know you're going to be angry. At Kaldur, at Dick, at me. Probably at Wally too. For everything that's happened up to this point. But, please, try to...wait...until we're through the hard part. Because right now, things are about to get really difficult.
"I know most of your hurt is going to be aimed at him, but right now, Kaldur's bad, Jen. I wouldn't be doing this if it wasn't absolutely necessary, but we need M'gann. Otherwise, all of our secrets would get out. We need her to save Kaldur's mind and to save us from getting killed."
Anger welled up in Jenna, but she forced it down for the time being. She was upset with them, sure, but the thought of them dying at the hands of Black Manta made her protective instincts override her feelings of betrayal. I'll destroy him before he even gets the chance.
"I wish we could take you too," Artemis had added. "Maybe with you being here, your presence would ensure he comes back to us. I don't think you realize just how much he loves you."
Jenna screwed her eyes shut. It felt like those three words had personally reached inside her chest and ripped her heart out.
She slowly shifted around until her back rested against the banged-up car, needing the extra support to hold her up. She gripped the recorder with both hands as if she was physically clinging to Artemis' every word.
"But I don't want you to be put in danger. Kaldur certainly wouldn't either. And I know what you're probably about to say-" Jenna's mouth clicked shut. "-I'm well aware of how capable you are of protecting yourself. But we're going to be lucky enough if we can get just the three of us out of this mess. I don't want to risk bringing you into it too. Kaldur would never forgive me for it."
Artemis sighed again. "I'm going to do everything I can to get us out of this, Jen. And if I do...well, I think something's coming up that could finally turn it all around. Then when we come home, you can finally kick our asses, okay?"
Despite everything—despite her hurt, her heartbreak, her fear—Jenna let out a small laugh. Sure, 'Mis.
The tears were still falling as the recording began to reach its end. Artemis was speaking softer, sounding tired. So tired. "I love you, Jen. If everything works out...I'll see you soon."
The end of the recording was replaced with Jenna's sobs.
~/~/~/~
My heart broke a little while writing that last scene. Man. :( And things aren't over yet.
Speaking of over, we're almost done with this fic! If I have it calculated right, I have 5 chapters left to finish writing and post. Like I said in the last chapter, I think I'm going to take a sort of break. It might not be an official one, it'll depend how I feel about War once I finish it (I'm nearly done writing it), but I may also just force myself to not post even if I get done with more chapters just so I have every remaining one finished before I start uploading again.
I'm going to try and give myself a month to do so because I've got a ton of research papers for grad school that are now a priority if I wanna get my master's. But I'm determined to finish this fic by the end of the year so that early on in 2023, we can start going into the third season/fic. I'm excited to get into it because contrary to popular beliefs, I liked the third season (maybe because I was excited to see the characters again after such a long wait between seasons) and I have a lot of plans.
And speaking of plans, here's the question I mentioned before the chapter. I need your guys' help. I knew when writing this fic that Sam wouldn't get into a relationship during it. I had too much that I wanted to emphasize with Jenna and her relationship with Kaldur that I knew it wouldn't really fit. It won't fit much in the next fic either, but I wanted to give him a relationship even if it's only occasionally seen. Which is why I plan on Sam being in an established relationship from the start. Mostly as a thing that you don't see fully developing as a reader until it's already happened and learn about it later on.
That being said, I'm not really sure who I want to pair Sam with. Back in the first fic, I got some feedback early on about who Jenna would eventually be paired with and I listened. Even though ultimately it's up to me, I want to listen to your opinions here too. If you wanna know who I've been going back and forth between, it's been either Jaime or Bart. I've slightly considered some others but I didn't think their stories would work if they were in a relationship with Sam considering the events of season 3 (spoilers ;)).
But tell me what you think. Do either Jaime or Bart seem appealing? Does someone else entirely? Maybe you picked up on some things in past chapters that I didn't even consider. Or maybe you think someone in the next season would be interesting to see a relationship with, one that we haven't even met yet? Don't be afraid to throw out suggestions here and there.
Damn, I always talk more than I intend to. I've been meaning to bring this up before now, but I always forget to. And if I plan on Sam having a relationship from chapter one of the next fic, then I'll need to decide soon but not urgently. So I'd appreciate any help!
See you in about a month!
