April 11th.
Episode—Practice Makes Perfect.
Hey Jenna!
How's it being back in college?
Letting loose with your college friends?
Definitely can't wait to do that when I leave, although my schooling isn't normal.
Nothing's ever been normal about me, as you may know even more now.
Sometimes I even feel like college isn't for me anymore.
I used to be always so excited about it. About Oxford.
About going to University and making new friends, but then, the excitement went down a bit and a lot of things came up and I decided on online. But then now, I don't even feel that excited about it anymore.
Waste of genius level IQ, I know.
Enough of the angst anyways!
I miss you Jenna but I understand why you're distancing yourself.
I think it's better than here at the moment anyways.
Besides, you can finish your thesis, have your presentation and be done with college life before summer.
Talk to you soon.
Cherith.
It had been 2 days since the big reveal and Cherith had more or less spent her time in her room, away from any and everyone.
Vampire issues, werewolf issues, witches and warlocks issues… she was just tired of it all and she wanted to leave for London.
Fast.
Being on the other side of the pond would separate her from the madness that was Mystic Falls and it's propensity to attract hideous creatures to it.
No wonder it's woods were dying anyways.
She'd had a talk with Elena and Jeremy about Jenna as well.
Jeremy had been startled at first, but then shrugged it off, seeing it as something she should have known a while back though he was now worried about her not picking anyone's calls or messages.
As for Elena, she had been shocked at first, but one look at a stubborn Cherith and she had more or less slumped down in exhaustion and acceptance.
Everyone was tired.
There were lots of threats… everywhere!
If it wasn't the Boogeyman, it was Cherith's own fears as well as her dreams.
She hadn't thought much on how odd her dreams had been getting but as she'd been spending her time all to herself and her mind had been wondering a lot, well… crazy wasn't even enough to explain how they appeared to her.
Cherith looked away from her desk computer as she hit the send button of her email to Jenna and her phone rang.
It was Bonnie.
"Hey Bon-Bon."
"Hey Cherry, listen, about the Martin's residence… how about we go there some time this week?"
She suggested and Cherith thought about how her week would be like.
Her classes were finishing up soon and most of her teachers didn't come for classes anymore as their graduation would be taking place soon and it was mostly free periods for them now.
"Well I don't really have classes anymore. How about you choose a day?"
"Okay, how about… Wednesday? I have 2 free last periods. We could meet at the apartment building around 1?"
Cherith shrugged.
"Yeah sure. See you Bon-Bon."
"Bye Cherry."
She cut the call and her mind suddenly went to Jonas Martin.
As much as she disliked the man and his creepy talks, she pitied him for loosing his family.
When he had grabbed her that night… she not only felt like his magic was being absorbed, but she saw some memories of his.
His wife, dead. His daughter apparently kidnapped by the Boogeyman and then Luka dead.
At least he'd join them wherever they were.
Did supernatural creatures even go to heaven?
Well, witches and warlocks weren't like Vampires or werewolves, but from what she'd seen, some worship the mother earth than the creator.
And then Vampires and werewolves are just on another category. Vampires who regularly kill Innocents without feeling bad and even have the ability to turn off their emotions when it suited them.
Was it a surprise that she couldn't get along with the lot of them?
Heck, the only Vampire she seemed to get along with was Caroline. And Caroline was an innocent. Forced into becoming a vampire by Elena's evil ancestor and having to adapt to the life of vampirism.
Cherith sometimes wondered why it seemed like she could SEE more clearly than the people around her who had accepted how they now lived as the new way of life, but she sure as hell wasn't accepting it.
As much as she had a high case of moral bravado, she still wanted to be happy.
She wanted to live her life without threats of those around her dying.
She wanted to live without blood and carnage. She already had that in her.
She wanted to be understood, be listened to.
She didn't want pain, she didn't want madness… she sometimes didn't even want the chaos!
She wanted to live normal and travel the world and be the teenager she actually was and not the adult that circumstances were turning her into.
It was probably why she held such a great hate for this town. Probably why she couldn't fully mold herself into acceptance of people like Stefan and Damon Salvatore.
They pretty much embodied exactly what she didn't want to be a part of.
And now, there was the Boogeyman after her sister.
It made her pissed that she was seemingly stuck here at the moment because deep in her heart, even if she up and left town at the moment, her heart would still wonder how her family was doing.
Regardless of how much she disliked Elena's decisions and still believed it had brought a lot of the troubles they had experienced to their doorstep, it didn't change the fact that she grew up with Elena and had always regarded her as her sister.
The annoying, bratty, airheaded brunette that had always been more lively and fun to be around before their parents death. More loosely moraled, more like a sister.
Now, Cherith knew her dislike for the brunette stemmed from her decisions, but it had begun to make Elena feel far from a sister to her and more of a cousin.
Stupid, yes… but Cherith had no other way to justify why she felt that way.
Even Jeremy.
Jeremy that had always been her rock of sort. Someone she could go to when she was bored, someone she could mess around with, frustrate and joke with.
Now, she didn't even think she could be close to him as before anymore.
Things were changing them, issues, problems, relationships, stances.
The Gilbert siblings were honestly not as close knit anymore. It was more like, Gilbert cousins… as it should have always been anyways.
And then there was Jenna.
Cherith had always looked up to her strawberry blonde aunt.
She was very bubbly, friendly, sarcastic and so… youthful!
Cherith always knew Jenna deserved a world much more bigger and better than Mystic Falls.
When Alaric had come and swept her aunt over her feet, Cherith wondered if Jenna wouldn't mind the small town as years passed, but, well… Alaric had pretty much ruined that relationship anyways.
Trust was always important. Had always been to Jenna. And for her to find out everyone she practically knew had kept a giant secret from her… well…
If it were to be Cherith, she'd just leave and never return.
Especially with how dangerous the town seemed to be as well.
But Jenna wasn't one to turn her back on family anyways.
Still didn't mean Cherith wouldn't find a way to convince her to leave.
Anytime Cherith pictured Jenna living here, she always thought of blood and death. It was always so eerie to think about.
Now though, she had to wait.
It was quiet.
Too quiet.
Nothing was happening at the moment. It was like a calm before a storm and Cherith was waiting.
Well! At least she had something to help her wait seem less petrifying, like the fact that Prom would be in 2 or so weeks, and the fact that her dress would be arriving before the week was out.
April 14th.
Wednesday.
Mystic Falls High.
As the bell rang for the end of class, Cherith stretched where she sat in class, students eagerly getting up to leave and Leslie turned to Cherith.
"You're done for the day right?"
Cherith nods as she checks her watch.
It was just after 11.
Free day indeed.
"Yup. Going to get something to eat. What about you?"
Leslie snorts as she stands up too, putting her books in her backpack.
"Cheerleading."
"Ugh."
"Ugh to you too."
Leslie rolled her eyes, a small smile on her face.
"Damn. Feels like the year's moving faster than expected. By this time next year, we'll be college students. Freshmen all over again."
She wrinkled her nose at the thought and Cherith shrugged as she walked outside with her.
"I don't mind. I mean, I won't exactly have that problem anyways."
Leslie shakes her head.
"Yeah, yeah. Anything you're doing after?"
"Meeting up with Bonnie. We have a date."
Leslie gave her a look.
"Isn't she with your brother?... Mind you, I definitely didn't see that coming."
Cherith waved her off.
"Please, I'm much more good looking than he is. Anyways, I'll see you later okay?"
"Sure, bye!"
They went their separate ways as Cherith walked out the door and towards her car, wasting no time to turn the ignition on and heading straight home.
The Gilbert home was quiet, mainly because no one was home.
It felt strange too.
Cold.
Cherith guessed it was just odd not seeing Jenna home and welcoming her after a few days.
With a sigh, she headed straight to the living room, flopping on a chair and whipping her phone out to call for a pizza order.
She'd have headed to the Grill but she'd more or less been trying to keep to herself and it had been working quite well.
She also hadn't seen Alaric since the whole Jenna leaving drama and for his sake, she hoped he stayed away from her for a while too.
While she knew it wasn't fully his fault, he was also one of the catalysts to her more or less leaving.
Cherith would probably send the history teacher to the sun if he so much as said anything to her.
Speaking of Alaric, he had apparently asked for a 2 week leave from school at the beginning of the week. Something about sorting some personal issues.
It was probably about Jenna.
Cherith wasn't so sure she wanted him to go to Jenna though. Call her selfish, but Jenna deserved better than the lies that had been told to her. And deep down… she knew her aunt would probably never forget it.
Martins Apartment.
Cherith got out of her car, and walked towards the apartment building, a dark sunglass on.
As she walked through the doors, she spotted Jeremy and Bonnie at the counter with a young guy behind the counter, probably in his late 20s or so and a look of indifference on his uncaring face.
"Look, we just want to take a look—"
"Yes, and I don't care. You're not family. Their family has been notified and they'll be arriving in the next week to take care of their things."
The guy glared at Jeremy who glared back.
Bonnie stepped forward again, a pleading look on her face.
"But…"
"Leave. Now. Or I'll be forced to call the police for trespassing."
Jeremy's fists tighten and before anything could happen, Cherith stepped forward, a straight smile on her face.
"Jeremy. Bon-Bon. Let me handle this."
The two turn to the new arrival as she walked between them and rested her hands on the counter table, the guy looking at her with an amused look.
"Well, hello there. What's your name?"
"Jason. What's yours?"
He said in a rather interested tone and Cherith smiled coyly, ignoring her brother who kept clearing his throat in a disapproving manner.
"My name? Ah but it doesn't matter, Jason. What matters is this…"
She placed a hand over his and red mist played around her fingers, entering his skin and her eyes glowed crimson behind the sunglasses.
Jason seemed to become dull and his eyes rather unfocused.
"You will allow me and my friends unlimited access to Jonas Martin's residence and you will allow us take whatever it is we want without any problems. And when we leave, you will remember nothing about this."
Jason blinked slowly as if beginning to refocus again.
"Of course. It's no problem."
He then grinned.
"Take your time. But it's our little secret though."
Cherith grinned as she stepped back.
"Awesome. Come on you two."
She turned to the shell shocked couple, gesturing them over with a hand as they entered an elevator and it closed.
Bonnie immediately turned to the girl.
"H-how did you do that?!"
Cherith smirked and shrugged.
"It's just something I can do."
Jeremy gave her a look.
"Why didn't you tell me?"
Cherith gave him a look.
"Life's been busy big bro."
"How is it possible?"
Bonnie's eyes then sharpened as she remembered something Cherith had mentioned in passing a few days back."
"Is it Chaos magic?"
Cherith's head snapped towards Bonnie immediately, startling the mocha skinned beauty and she stuttered.
"I uh… you mentioned it some days back."
Cherith turned away from her as the elevator door opened again.
"Hm. Something like that."
She walked out, Jeremy right behind her still whining about Cherith not telling him all that she could do and Bonnie behind him, deep in thought.
Chaos magic.
What was it?
She'd tried checking the family grimoire but there had been nothing on it.
Was it even real though?
Cherith had always joked about being chaotic and embracing chaos.
Maybe chaos magic was just a joke?
But… no.
Cherith's magic has always been different.
And she remembered what her Grams had once said about Cherith.
She was a special one.
The fact that she emitted crimson like magic, it told Bonnie not to overlook whatever the girl says.
Maybe it'll help her get to know just what the girl carried.
She was pretty sure Cherith knew after all.
"He really was a scholar."
Bonnie gushed as she went through a slightly large old book with writings in Old Latin.
Cherith nods as she puts a book in a small carton she was going to take home with her.
The rest could go with Bonnie. They were mainly just books on witch history with the occasional spell book here and there. And the more Cherith went through the spell books, she just wasn't sure she was actually interested in learning nature magic.
There was just too much to lose to be able to access the more powerful side of it. Although there were some cool spells here and there that she might learn some time later on.
Jeremy snorts as he goes through a rather giant tome.
"Jonas Martin must really be a lover of scary stuff. This book has it all."
Cherith goes to see the book as her brother perused through it.
"From the myth of 'The First Immortal' to the 'Other Side'. Oh, there's one on some 'Original Witch'… 'The Darkhold'…. 'Cult of the Darkhold'… ooh, people in cloaks."
Cherith looked away from the page she had been going through.
"People in cloaks?"
Jeremy nods as he points at the page and Cherith suddenly had a feeling pass through her as she suddenly remembers the dream she had while in the hospital.
A particularly gruesome one that had involved some people in cloaks.
Bonnie looked up from where she sat.
"Alright you guys, enough scary stuff. We're almost done here."
"I think I'll take this one."
Cherith said as she moved back to her seat, book in hand.
"It's always good to give yourself the creeps every once in a while. Especially in a safe environment."
Jeremy snorts.
"Always knew you were crazy anyways."
She throws him a middle finger while ignoring his snickers.
She does spot 'The Myth of The Scarlet Witch' in the book though.
About 30 minutes after, the trio were done with their packing and set off to the Grill for an early dinner.
"So, you can communicate with dead witches?"
Cherith asked her as they ate their food in the slightly noisy Grill.
"Hm, more or less yeah. It's a bit weird and more complicated than that but they do talk sometimes, especially when it is rather important."
"Like this Klaus issue I'm sure."
Jeremy added and Bonnie nodded while Cherith seemed to be deep in thought.
"Hm… I'd love to talk to them…"
She said offhandedly and as Bonnie opened her mouth to talk, she spots Matt walking past their table and sends him a wave which he reciprocates as he walks by and Bonnie sighed.
"I'm just glad that will the whole craziness happening, Matt's not one."
"Oh yeah. Caroline compelled him to forget right?"
Cherith piped up as she looks at the boy and Bonnie nods.
"Yeah. Better for him to not be involved in all this drama."
Cherith makes a noncommittal noise at the back of her throat as she watches the boy.
She'd always been an observer.
And Matt… something was off about him.
He seemed more jumpy than usual.
He makes eye contact with her and he stiffens for a moment before a smile grows on his face and he waves, Cherith waving back as he hurries through a door.
Very strange.
Anyways…
"I just can't wait to say goodbye to this horrid town. It reeks too much of despair."
Bonnie gives her a weird look.
"You talk like an old soul sometimes."
Cherith rolled her eyes.
"Well that's because I feel like that in this town! It's messing with my mojo!"
Jeremy scoffs.
"It's sort of online college for you though… you'd still be coming home more often than usual."
Cherith wrinkles her nose.
"I don't know about that. I mean, except teleportation is real, you won't see me flying across the pond for your sorry asses."
Jeremy takes a swipe at her but she dodges with a cheeky grim while Bonnie chuckles, basking in the familiar and welcoming feeling.
If only for a while anyway.
April 17th.
Saturday.
Woods.
"Okay you two… here is a big enough clearing, don't you think?"
Caroline piped up as they walked into a rather open clearing in the woods and looked around.
It was weekend, and Caroline, Cherith, Bonnie and Jeremy had decided to head into the woods for a little practice showdown.
Well, more like Cherith and Bonnie anyways. The other two were just spectators.
Elena was busy with the Salvatore brothers doing God knew what.
Deep down, Cherith was glad they weren't around. Too much Damon snarkiness and she just might bury him underground one way or the other.
They were currently dressed in simple outfits. Well, in the girls' case, yoga pants and simple round neck tops with converse and Jeremy in sweatpants and a shirt as well.
"Okay. So, no maiming and no over the top stuff, I'm looking at you Cherith."
Cherith put her tongue out at the blonde Vampire.
"Alright! Jeremy and I will just… move towards safety and leave you bitches, I mean witches to it."
Caroline turned to walk off as Bonnie threw her a look.
"You said that on purpose."
"I'm not even going to deny it."
Cherith grins amused.
"Alright then! Shall we tangle, Bonita?"
Bonnie rolls her eyes amused.
"You sound like a bad guy."
"Aren't we all?"
She then lights her hands up with a sly grin.
Bonnie immediately holds her hands in fists, a focused look on her face as she whispers.
"Ad Somnum."
Immediately, Cherith felt so tired all of a sudden, like she could just lay on the ground and sleep for centuries—
She blinked rapidly, staggering back a bit and shaking her head before incorporating her magic to rapidly heal and she smirks amused.
"Bravo Bon-Bon. Try again."
Bonnie frowns, before taking in deep breaths and suddenly, the air picks up rapidly around them, making Caroline and Jeremy move back a bit.
Cherith though uses her magic to increase her density as she stands straight in the middle of the growing wind, Bonnie putting more power into it.
Cherith grins, twisting her fingers slightly and chaos energy forms all around.
She had been practicing creating energy constructs ever since she realized she could use such a power and her mind had definitely been creative with it.
From the ground, 4 large vines burst out and raise high up much to the shock of those present.
"What the fuck!"
Jeremy shouted out almost stumbling to the ground while Cherith focused on the panicked look on Bonnie's face, her eyes crimson.
"Ah, so you know fear… good… let's play."
With a wide arm swipe, the 4 vines immediately snap towards Bonnie with speed so as to wrap themselves around the girl but Bonnie throws herself away from their line of attack and they hit the floor with such strength that the sand picked up in the air.
Bonnie throws an exasperated look at the younger girl who had an excited look on her face.
"Okay first of all… no maiming. Second, you're way into the villain persona, it's unbecoming."
Cherith grins cheekily before raising her hand again.
"Good practice for you though. The Boogeyman wouldn't be so nice and you know that."
"She could be worse than the Boogeyman I suspect."
Jeremy whispers to Caroline who nods at that.
Cherith then swipes her hand and the vines raise up in the air again and sped towards their target who rolls away on the ground.
"Invisique!"
She shouts out in a voice full of panic and right before their eyes, she vanishes.
Cherith's jaw dropped.
"Since when could you do that?? Jeremy!! Since when could she do that?"
She turns to him with an excited look and Jeremy shrugs.
How was he supposed to know??
Cherith turns back to the clearing, slowly walking around.
"I don't think you can do that forever though… come on Bonnie, I could bribe you with a one year supply of chocolate?"
She calls out and Caroline snorts.
"Typical villain behavior."
Cherith throws her an amused look.
"Isn't that what I'm going for here?"
Suddenly, there was a small snap of a twig, like someone stepped on it and Cherith wastes no time throwing the vines over and they wrap around an invisible force and Bonnie's spell falls as she finds herself wrapped around the large green vines in shock and lifted into the air.
"How did you…"
Cherith shrugged with a smug grin.
"Former girl scout remember? So... give up now?"
But Bonnie wasn't about to.
While she had been drawing some power from the witches, she hadn't been drawing enough, and so, with a concentrated look, she calls in a large amount of their magic into herself and with a shout, the air picks up slightly and the other three watched as the vines get torn apart and explode into crimson mist that vanishes, and Bonnie falls to the ground rather clumsily and breathing heavily, leaving Cherith impressed.
After all, she sort of knew what her magic was capable of, and she'd made the vines rather strong and powerful.
For Bonnie to have been able to destroy them, it meant she had some power of her own too.
"Bonnie?"
Jeremy calls out worriedly, moving to go help his heavily breathing girlfriend but Caroline stops him with a huff.
"Weren't you thought to never get in between two fighting girls??"
Jeremy opens and closes his mouth, having nothing to say and they turned back to the practice spar going on in front of them.
After all, who could ever say they'd witnessed the power and might of two powerful witches?
"You okay?"
Cherith asked the witch and Bonnie took in a big breath, looking slightly disheveled but with a determined look on her face.
"Never better."
Cherith smirks.
"Good. Cause I'm just getting started."
At that, Cherith lights up her hands and rises up in the air, a playful grin on her face that they all recognized and Jeremy took a wary step back.
"She's in the mood for a prank."
He whispered harshly at Caroline, elbowing her slightly and Caroline slapped his hand away, shifting back with him too.
"Don't you think I don't know that too??"
Cherith twists her hands and crimson lights burst out around her and they all form to create…
Hundreds of balloons in the air.
"W-why…"
Bonnie stuttered out as she stared up at the floating girl with awe and confusion.
"How are you doing that?!"
Caroline shouted out from behind.
One thing Cherith knew ever since her whole power absorption from Jonas was her magic seemed stable… for now, that is. She just had that feeling that it only made her stable for the time being.
Her chaos magic had always been unstable, but also, she'd gotten nature magic from her mother. It's just that, nature magic couldn't compare to chaos magic, not only in power, but abilities too.
Her in born nature magic could never compare to the unending well of chaos in her. But after absorbing Jonas', it seemed like magic had increased her nature magic and it was sort of a… calm before the storm at the moment.
"Cherry… there's no need to do this…"
Bonnie tried to convince the girl but Cherith smirked, replying in a rather creepy like voice.
"Come now Bon-Bon… why so serious?"
With that, Cherith raises her hands and was about launching the balloons when Bonnie took a deep breath in, the air around her picking up as she called in the magic of the witches and as Cherith launched the balloons, Bonnie let out a shout, clapping her hands upwards towards the balloons directions.
"INCENDIA!!"
A mighty storm of fire blew out of her hands as soon as she clapped and flew towards the balloons, Caroline blurring away as the heat of the fire got closer to the Vampire while Jeremy stumbled to the ground in surprise.
When the fire died down, Bonnie fell to her knees as she felt rather empty, breathing in and out rapidly and seeing slight dots.
As she shakily looked up though, her eyes bulged in surprise.
"What…"
Cherith grinned.
"That was super awesome Bonnie… but not enough."
Behind her, there was still a little over a hundred water balloons, and with a small wave, they descended towards Bonnie who fell to the ground with a panicked shout as they pelted her with water continuously.
Caroline let out a small shaky laugh from where she'd been hiding while Jeremy just sat on the floor as his girlfriend was pelted with water balloons.
After she was done, an amused Cherith floated back to the ground.
"I'm definitely impressed Bonnie. Those witches really did give you a power boost after all. But remember, sometimes in a fight, your opponent never expects something like pranks. I mean, imagine if I filled the balloons with vervain instead of water. Ha! Fatality!"
"Hey now! Innocent Vampire here!"
Caroline shouted out at the ruby haired girl and Cherith grinned.
Bonnie's eyes narrowed though as she slowly got to her feet, wet from her head to toe and a look of revenge on her face.
"Oh yeah?"
Cherith turned to her just in time to see the mocha skinned girl let out a small war cry and run towards her, jumping on the unsuspecting girl who let out a 'oof' as they landed on the ground.
Cherith wrinkles her nose.
"Oh come on Bonnie! I'm not against someone hot being all up on me but one, Jeremy might kill me in my sleep in case of straying hands and two, your disgustingly wet."
Bonnie amusedly poked her nose as Jeremy huffed, finally walking up to them and helping his girlfriend up and Caroline walking over.
"You've been corrupted by the world."
Jeremy said, rolling his eyes and Cherith beams.
"That was one hell of a magical battle. Elena would pout knowing what she missed."
Caroline grinned.
"Anyway, what should we do now then?"
Bonnie made a noise at the back of her throat as she looked at her state.
"I think we should head on home now. Mainly because I need a change of clothes."
Cherith nodded as she turned to go, walking arm in arm with Caroline.
"Not a bad idea. You look like a swamp beast."
Bonnie threw her a look from where she walked ahead.
"Hardy har har."
Bonnie shook her head as Jeremy looked down at her with a soft smile on his face.
"You good? Cherith can be rather violent sometimes."
Bonnie nods with a smile.
"Yeah. I'm fine."
"Great. Cause you did awesome! The witches definitely have you a lot of power!"
Bonnie forced a some on her face as they walked out the forest.
Her thoughts were on Cherry.
She was super powerful, there was no doubt about that.
The way she just seemed to create things out of nothing. It was impossible!
How was she doing the things she could do??
And so effortlessly at that!
Because at the moment, Bonnie felt exhausted with their 30 practice.
It felt like she had been fighting an actual adversary.
Cherith looked like she hadn't even strained herself though… whereas Bonnie had almost exhausted herself and if she were to be honest, had used quite a lot of her magic and the witches' to amplify her incendia spell and the one she'd used to destroy the vines.
What exactly was Cherry capable of?
Rather yet… what couldn't she do… and how could Bonnie be as good, no… great, as her?
She really needed to be ready for Klaus.
While Cherith had the power to back her, she didn't have the spells needed, Bonnie did.
She was the one who would save everyone, and she'd use her dying breath of she had to.
Cherith had excused herself from the others after asking Jeremy for the way to the witch house as he had followed Bonnie the first time around.
It was sort of a maze in a way, but Cherith could feel magic saturating some places and acting like a beacon leading her somewhere.
It hadn't stopped her from being wary though.
This was the forest. Be prepared for any and everything.
Well, she was surprised alright when she more or less wondered into a clearing with an old white house a few feet away from her.
It was a white lodge house of sorts with pillars by the side.
Old and dead roots were wrapped around the house.
It was eerie and quiet and also didn't seem empty at the same time.
"Ghosts… I hate ghosts…"
She mumbled under her tone before pausing as she felt a feeling of affront come from the house.
She paused as she stood in front of the house and blinked.
"Um… hello? Witches?... Witches of Mystic Fall—No, they're dead."
She ignored the increasing affront.
"Um, powerful dead witches?... Dead witches who haven't moved on?... Dead Bennetts?... Um oh! Dead Be—"
The front door slammed open at her rants and she jumped a bit startled, pressing a hand to her chest.
"Geez… a little warning next time!"
She frowned disgruntled and the door slowly began closing again.
Cherith's eyes widened at that and she quickly rushed in before it closed again.
Who'd have thought.
Witches were not only judgy, but were easily affronted, especially the dead ones.
The room was slightly dark except for the sunlight from the windows.
It was also dirty… and dusty.
Best not to say that out loud anyways.
She walked around.
"Hello?? Witches? How do I talk to you guys?"
Almost immediately, she heard voices in her head and she stumbled a bit, holding onto her head in discomfort.
It was like hundreds of whispering voices trying to talk over one another before it quietened over a title.
'Scarlet Witch.'
Cherith blinked as she stood straight again, dropping her hands and wincing a bit.
"That was weird. But yeah… that's me! The Scarlet Witch! Nexus being."
She joked in a rather depreciating tone and she felt disapproval from them making her frown.
"What now? Are you all going to rant about how I have all this power and I can't us it?! How I'm scared too? You think it's easy??"
She glared at nothing in particular but her hackles were raised as all her frustration she'd been hiding began to pour out.
"You think it's easy having powers that could destroy any and everything?! With no way to control it?! Believe me I've tried but it just leads to more and more discoveries and it feels like I'm leading myself somewhere bad… or rather… rather I'm attraction the attention of someone or… or something I'm not meant to."
She whispered the end, shivering slightly at the remembrance of some of her more plaguing dreams.
It was quiet for a moment and she sighed.
"I need help. You all are the only one I can ask at the moment, even if you're all dead. I don't know much about all this. I know I'm the Scarlet Witch. I know it's some sort of title… a mantle. I know I'm supposed to stay away from the Harkness family, whoever they are. And, I know I should be wary of something. But what?... What is it that I have to be wary of?! Who or what am I supposed to fear?! Or fight?!"
She gritted her teeth.
"Tell me! What should I be wary of?! What am I supposed to watch out for?!"
She pleaded and immediately whispered voices filled her head again and the air in the room picked up as they blew against the windows and the trees of the forest moved as of they would be uprooted.
The sky turned grey for a moment and it seemed like darkness had seeped around the area.
And it was gone.
But they left a single word in her head.
'Darkhold.'
Alaric's Residence.
Klaus Mikaelson pours himself a drink as his back was turned away from a tied up Katerina Pierce, a playful smirk on his face as he lifts the cup of bourbon, takes a sip and makes a small look of distaste.
"Cheap."
He'd have to manage for the time being.
That said, he turned to the vampire and relished the fear in her eyes.
Ha… how long had he waited for such a moment.
"So, where were we love?"
He took a small step forward with his familiar swagger and his not quite English accent was heard even without being in his body.
"Ah yes. My latest doppelganger. A junior you've said. With Stefan Salvatore, the ripper. How disgustingly sweet."
He grinned as she sat down, crossing his legs and Katherine shivered a bit as she nodded.
"Yes. But Damon Salvatore has a thing for her too."
Klaus nods absentmindedly as he shook the glass of bourbon in his hand and a rather melancholic smile grew on his lips.
"Of course. History repeating once more. How delightful. So… she has an aunt, two best friends, one being a Vampire and the other… the Bennett witch. The one I have to watch out for. The, strong adversary."
He said amused and turned back to Katherine.
"And then two siblings, who are all actually cousins. Am I right?"
Katherine nods.
"Yes, but they did grow up together so they see each other as siblings."
Klaus waves her off, not concerned with the probably soon to be dead family.
"They're no concern of mine. They have no use for me."
Katherine smirked rather viciously at the remembrance of a certain ruby haired girl she was no huge fan of but was occasionally amused by.
Oh how she wished she could watch their first encounter.
The witch and the big bad wolf.
"I wouldn't say no concern, Klaus. Especially the youngest."
The original looked at her with inquisitive eyes.
"Oh? And why would I concern myself with a young brat?"
"Because… I suspect she isn't normal. Not by a longshot."
Klaus' face turned to one of interest.
"Oh? Tell me more Katerina."
Hi guys!
So another chapter!!
I wanted to do one with Bonnie and Cherith testing out their powers amongst each other, even though it's in a fun but sparing way.
The spar went how I planned too.
Bonnie has always been described as a rather powerful witch, and with witches behind her, well...
Cherith is wary of her powers and so wouldn't fully unleash it out of fear whereas Bonnie has a thirst to prove herself, to prove she is stronger than imaginable and she can fight and so she would let loose, especially when she has the witches behind her and she wants to show that she can handle it. She wouldn't really bother about the consequences. She has always seemed like a Gryffindor to me all with the whole 'I'll die to protect my friends and family.'
Bonnie definitely is beginning to take notice of Cherith even more and I feel like it'll be one of the catalysts to the Scooby gang finding out about the whole Scarlet Witch business.
School doesn't seem as important to our genius Cherith anymore and that is to be expected. She's a nexus being with a lot of issues. Something like school would start to seem rather hollow and more of a responsibility as she dogs deeper into her past.
I feel like I'd have some fun when writing Klaus. His speech and thinking will have to be done rather patiently because he talks like an angst ridden teen and then sometimes like a noble man.
Lol, I also had to have some fun with the dead witches. I feel like Cherith would run her mouth still and they'd feel offended somehow.
