Full Chapter Title--Jenna Sommers And The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Bad Day.

Few Hours Earlier.

April 27th.

Night to Full moon.

Whitmore.

Jenna rolls uncomfortably in her bed as she stayed awake the previous night reading for her upcoming finals and was enjoying sleeping in, thankfully this time without too much nightmares.

Ever since her talk with Cherith, things hadn't been the same.

She jumped more at moving shadows while occasionally wondering if the students around her were vampires or werewolves or even witches in disguise.

It made her keep to herself even more as she tried to focus on the coming exams for her Masters program.

She had been avoiding calls from Mystic Falls with such intensity that while she felt sad about it, the thought of Mystic Falls… made her shiver all the way to her very bones.

Vampires.

Vampires had been in her home.

In the place she regarded as a safehouse.

Her family had known about it, heck one was a witch.

And her boyfriend… or rather, ex?

He had been involved with it and hadn't told her about it.

What did they all think she was going to do after finding out?

Smile and say 'Oh it's okay. I totally understand why me, a free thinking adult, was kept in the dark like some pansy child to be protected?!'Not when the people that should have been protected were her nieces and nephew, who were now stuck smack dab in the middle of everything fucking thing!

She huffed as she turned in her gradually uncomfortable bed.

It was a bit past 2 in the afternoon and Jenna honestly had no urge to get up and do anything.

At least her room was safe.

She had locked her windows ever since the day she got to Whitmore, and every night, she made sure her dorm door was locked.

She was honestly going through a high case of paranoia.

In fact, the urge to get a shotgun had played up in her mind for days before she decided getting one was just asking for drama.

Looking up at the ceiling, the thought of leaving everything behind seemed so nice to think of.

Hawaii was looking way and way attractive to her now more than ever.

Buzz… Buzz…

The sound of her phone vibrating cut her off as she turned over in her bed, making a grab for it on the side table and lazily checking the new message.

It was from Jeremy.

Jenna, please call soon.

Cherith is missing.

Please, just call!!

--Jer.

Jenna's eyes popped as she scrambled to sit up on her bed.

If there was one thing that could make Jenna Summers think of running back to the dark and infested town that was Mystic Falls, it was the love of her nieces and nephews.

She had to go back.

April 28th.

Full moon.

When Jenna had been messaged by Jeremy to find Elena, she hadn't expected it to be in the den of the demons that had been giving her nightmares for days now.

Staring at the front door to the Salvatore Boarding house, a small shiver of apprehension went through her as she continued to stare at it.

The moment the door opened though, she took a startled step back as she hadn't heard any footsteps prior.

"Jenna… hi."

Stefan stood awkwardly by the door, a hand in his pocket while trying to put an easygoing smile up on his face.

It wasn't working for Jenna.

Her heartbeat could cause an earthquake in it's own right.

Stefan almost winced but lord knew what Jenna would do.

She cleared her throat.

"Is um… is Elena in?"

He nodded.

"Ah yes. She's just in the living room, if you'd like to come in?"

Jenna looked behind him, an unsure look on her face as she tightly grasped at her handbag.

What if he was lying??

The sounds of slightly harried footsteps behind Stefan made her look up again and just in time to see Elena's look of relief.

"Jenna!"

She cries out as she runs past Stefan and hugs Jenna tightly.

It took a moment, even as Elena hid her hurt, but Jenna awkwardly patted her before extracting herself from the hug.

"Any news?"

Jenna asked and Elena's face fell slightly, making Jenna feel bad. But now wasn't the time.

"I uh… we've reported it to the police. But it needs to be a full 48 hours before she's declared missing."

Jenna scoffed.

"And Liz? What about her?"

Elena shook her head, a sad look on her face.

"Would you… would you like to come in?"

Jenna shook her head.

"No uh… I'll just… I'll stay at home or something…"

She turned to leave but Elena held her hand with a pleading look.

"Please Jenna. I know I've done you wrong but… the house… it isn't safe. Not right now."

Jenna frowned, looking closely at the troubled look on her niece's face.

"Why? What's wrong with it?"

Elena hesitated.

"It's a… it's a long story."

"Make it short then. Cherry already told me quite a lot about the things you've all been up to. What he… and his brother are."

She said the last part quietly, throwing a cautious look at Stefan and Elena sighed.

"It's more complicated than that. Things are really dangerous at the moment. I think… I think you should know…"

Jenna looked at Elena for a moment, trying to ignore Stefan's look, and with an hesitant nod, she allowed herself be dragged through the threshold of the building by Elena.

To her though, it was like walking into the proverbial lion's den.

Now she had to find a way to survive long enough to get the fuck out.

"So… if I get this straight… some creep who is after Elena as well as obsessed with some sacrifice, did something to Cherith and it affected her… her powers so much she had to leave?"

Jenna mumbled slightly, looking at Elena and for a moment, Stefan and Damon.

Elena hesitated for a moment.

She didn't think it would after all be a good idea to tell her aunt that she was to be the sacrifice in a few hours from now for a homicidal beast.

And so she nodded.

"Yes."

"… Oh God… this cannot be happening."

Jenna mumbled to herself as she dragged a shaky hand through her head.

Damon scoffed blankly.

"Oh you have no idea."

He eyed Elena and Stefan with a look.

"Besides… you've forgotten the whole Alaric possession thing."

Jenna scoffed.

"Oh I know that. But right now, my priorities lie with my nieces… and Jeremy. Jeremy is okay right? No madmen after him?"

Elena nods.

"He's fine. He's somewhere, safe. I promise."

Jenna huffed.

"Promises have been broken for the past few weeks Elena, it doesn't really mean much to me at the moment."

Elena winced and Jenna continued.

"But that's not what I'm here for. I can hold grudges, but Cherith is much more important than that. I have to go look for her."

Jenna jumped to her feet, ignoring Damon's scoff and Stefan took a small step forward making Jenna freeze slightly.

"Jenna… it's not safe for you out there."

She gave him a stink eye.

"It's not safe for me outside? It's not safe for me in here!"

She snapped back at the blonde vampire and Elena stood up.

"Jenna—"

"No Elena, you might not have known about vampires and… and werewolves and witches and the whole lot of it from the beginning, but when you found out about it, you couldn't tell me?? You couldn't take measures to protect your family??"

She glared sternly at her niece who looked away.

"You continued to associate with… with them! When it could very well lead to the deaths of your family! You chose this people over us. You lied to me! You all lied to me! Like I was nothing! An insignificant spec that needed to be protected like some hatchling! So sit down niece of mine and be quiet!"

Elena's mouth dropped as she flopped down on the couch in slight shock, guilt and apprehension.

Jenna sighed coldly, pacing slightly.

"I have been keeping all this inside, trying to avoid what Mystic Falls has shown to me. How much in the dark I've been. How this town, so shrouded in mysteries has made me feel and… and how I realized my own family has been hiding things from me."

Damon huffed.

"Look, this is all emotional and all, but it doesn't change the fact that Elena is right."

He walked up to her nonchalantly and Jenna struggled not to take a few steps back though her heartbeat quickened.

"Damon—"

"Shut up Stefan. If you walk out that door, Jenna, there's a high possibility that you're walking towards your death. Klaus? He's out there, looking for ways to make Elena do his bidding. What's to say he doesn't know about your arrival in town? What's to say he doesn't already have eyes on this place?"

Jenna swallowed softly, looking away as the truth seemed to hit her slightly, no matter how rude and harsh it had been delivered.

Elena looked pleadingly at her aunt and Stefan took a small step forward.

"Jenna… I assure you we are looking for Cherith. But our freedom at the moment isn't large. Klaus probably has eyes everywhere."

"Probably in people's assholes too."

Damon added but was ignored.

"Cherith is probably safer wherever she is—"

"But you don't know that, do you?"

Jenna scoffed.

"You people told me she was attacked. What makes you so sure she is okay?... What even makes you so sure that she's still… alive?"

Her voice shook and no one knew what to say.

After all, it was true.

What proof did they have of the little spitfire being safe and sound?

"Elena, a word, if you will."

Jenna's neck snapped to the sound of the familiar voice just in time to see Elijah Smith walk in through a hallway.

Her mouth dropped as he turned to her with a cautious nod and smile.

"Jenna. Good to see you again."

Elena slowly excused herself as they walked off and Jenna's incredulity showed as she turned to Stefan and Damon.

What the heck was Elijah fucking Smith doing here?!

Damon sighed, walking off and patting his brother as he walked off.

"I need a drink. You take over the rest of the explanations."

The next few hours brought her up to the present. How Elijah 'not Smith' was centuries older than fucking dirt!

Not only that, but Elena had some sort of evil twin named Katherine!

Also, her ex? Had entered the equation too, and while Jenna had almost put an arrow through him—she might not be that accomplished, but she'd learnt a thing or two from Grayson and that asshole John. Who were apparently hunters! And not of the deer kind too!

"Ohhh, I'm going crazy! I'm going crazy!"

She whispered harshly to herself as she walked out of a room with a 'bleeding' Stefan Salvatore who had just been stabbed by his own brother!

If this wasn't a Cain and Abel shit, she didn't know what it freaking was!

And she getting irritated!

No one was doing anything!

They were all just meandering about!

And no one was saying anything about Cherith!

They were all focused on this sacrifice thing.

Oh she knew they hadn't told her everything. She could see it in Elena's shifty gaze… she could see that Elena was truly in trouble.

But Cherith was a witch. And apparently rather powerful like Bonnie.

But Jenna hadn't seen the extent of Bonnie's powers yet. As for Cherith, she'd seen some. Maybe a little.

And she knew Cherith would be able to do something about this madness… once she was found!

Jenna's hands trembled as she glanced at the crossbow on the table in the living room where she'd excused herself to.

She couldn't just sit and do nothing while her niece was missing!

What kind of a guardian would she be??

It was all her fault for leaving in the first place!

She ignored the rational part of her mind telling her she could have done absolutely nothing in such a situation.

The living room was quiet as she stood up, grabbing the crossbow.

She had to find her niece, but she would have to protect herself while at it too.

As she moved towards the front door, harried footsteps made her turn.

"Jenna! Wait Jenna, where are you going?"

Jenna watched a worried Alaric walk towards her.

He was still the same as ever.

Caring, nice… protective.

Heck, if nothing had come between them, she could admit to seeing herself getting married to him and even popping out a Saltzman-Sommers or two.

Now though… now, when she looked at him, she felt only hurt and betrayal.

He might have lied to protect her in some twisted way, but it still didn't change the fact that she had her own feelings to put before others.

She could see that he'd had good intentions… like her family, but it didn't mean she would just stop feeling anger just because they were doing something for the greater good.

Whose greater good though?

"I'm going to look for Cherry."

Alaric sighed.

"Jenna… please, it isn't safe."

Jenna scoffed.

"I'm not a baby Alaric. Everyone's told me exactly that all morning. I have nodded like a drone being told what to do but I still can't stop my want to go out there and look for her!"

"Jenna please, let's discuss this—"

"Together?"

She huffed.

"You should have thought that through when you'd decided to keep me in the dark."

She turned to walk away but he jogs to her front.

"Alaric. You can't stop me. Quite frankly, I know how much Elena, Jeremy and Cherry have grown on you. Heck, you regard them as family… though technically Elena could be, what with being your sort of stepdaughter. But I care about my family too. Even though Elena isn't telling me the whole truth about that Klaus person, my mind is still on Cherry. Do you know how scary it is, imagining finding her but only her body??"

She shouted out in a scared voice.

"I'm heading to the station, Ric. You can't stop me. And don't even try."

She added as he opened his mouth.

With a look, she excused herself and left, heading towards her car.

She knew it wasn't safe.

Heck, she felt like she was making a mistake.

But…

This was Cherith!

Even though she was emancipated, she felt deep down, that out of that house was where she needed to be.

And where Cherry was, was the safest to be at.

As Jenna drove off, she had no idea that maybe, just maybe… she'd made a cosmic decision.

Mystic Falls Police Station.

She had been there… for over an hour.

Over one freaking hour!

Jenna gritted her teeth as she checked the time on her watch.

After 3pm.

They were all telling her the same thing.

Cherry couldn't be declared missing since it wasn't up to 48 hours yet.

Jenna huffed from where she sat, glaring at any deputy that passed her by as they tried to avoid staring back at her.

To make things worse, apparently Liz was out of the office, probably doing God knows what!

She'd expected the woman to at least make this a priority, but apparently this wasn't important enough for her.

"Well fuck this!"

Jenna scoffed out, ignoring a deputy who jumped at her sudden anger.

If they weren't going to help her search for her niece, she'd do it her fucking self!

She stood up, glaring around one last time.

"Useless."

She walked out and the collective police force breathed out a sigh of relief.

Jenna walked out of the station with a small frown on her face as she walked towards her car.

The last place Cherith had been seen was the school.

Heck, her car was still there as no one had her keys except for her.

The girl valued 'Pietro' above all others.

A small smile wafted across Jenna's face as she closed her door, before a small frown came on.

She well and truly hoped Cherith was at least fine.

Because above all else, she really missed the little demon.

As she turned on her ignition, her destination changed to somewhere else.

Mystic Falls High.

The skies were a dark orange as the sun began to set and Mystic Falls took on a sort of magical appearance.

Maybe it was because of what the day signified.

The Full Moon.

Or rather yet, the day Niklaus Mikaelson would be unlocking his Werewolf side.

But not everyone knew that though, only the major played did.

And as Stefan and Elena spent their 'last day' together, Damon Salvatore was busy rescuing Caroline and grudgingly Tyler, from being used for the ritual.

Of course, they should have known.

Klaus was a master strategist. He was always going to be two steps ahead of whatever it was they planned.

And while they might have taken Tyler from the original, wolves travelled in packs, and Jules was there for him to use.

As for the vampire though, then came the hard part.

They had taken Caroline from him, and so, as a form of revenge, he tried to target the next best thing.

Jenna Sommers.

But in this universe, things went differently.

As Klaus compelled Katherine to call Jenna and lure her towards his path, Jenna was heading towards the high school in the hopes of finding her niece and so, she ignored any and all calls from anyone who would want to stop her from doing what she planned.

Unknowingly, Cherith Gilbert had saved her.

And in a way, Klaus Mikaelson had evade death from a mythical being.

Katherine, wanting to save herself from Klaus' ire, immediately brought up the thought of using someone romantically linked to one of the Gilbert Siblings.

Someone that would be missed.

Mystic Grill.

The seniors all ran out of the Grill after being thrown out by a frustrated waiter and the laughed boisterously as they walked towards their respective cars.

"Did you see his fucking face? Ah! Prime blackmail material."

One of them jested and the others agreed.

"We should probably leave the premises before the ass calls the police."

Then one of them stopped, patting down his pockets.

"Shit! I left my wallet in there!"

The others snickered.

"Sucks to be you man. See you around okay? Don't call me if you're arrested though!"

As the rest of his friends walked off, he turned back towards the Grill, rolling his eyes.

He didn't care anyways. He'd be graduating in fucking months!

Just then, a beautiful mocha skinned girl with curly black hair sauntered over to him with a saucy smile and he smirked.

Well then… this day just got better.

He thought.

"Hey there… I'm new in town… could you tell me where the great spots are?"

He grinned.

"Well of course. I could even show you around if you like. What's your name?"

The girl grinned.

"Greta… Greta Martin. And yours?"

She pulled her hand for a shake and as he raised his, he answered.

"Call me Timmy Turner."

As his hand made contact with hers though, a drowsy feeling went through his body, and immediately, he slumped to the ground.

She smiled, crouching next to him, running her hands through his face.

"What a pretty face. It's too bad."

She turned to the two guys who walked over to her.

"Put him in the back seat. It's almost time for the ritual."

And it was.

As she looked up into the skies, the moon was already out, and almost full.

Back to the present.

Mystic Falls Woods.

Cherith stumbled a bit as she took a step forward.

"Woah… woah… what the hell? I'm not even high!"

She whined slightly as she held on to a tree, looking around.

The Full Moon in the sky was looking ominous, and she felt like a smug feeling was coming from it.

Fuck destiny!

Why was she doing this to her?!

"Well I'm just going to have to ruin your plans, don't I?"

She grumbled under her breath as she stumbled in the dark with her purse over her.

She had tons of messages from everyone, asking where she was and if she was okay.

How cute.

But not really her problem at the moment.

She put her phone back in her purse, preferring to stumble in the dark than attract something or someone to her.

Deep down she still felt like she was forgetting something important.

What it was, she had no idea.

"Eh, whatever! It's probably not too important anyways!"

As she slowly moved through the woods, hands stretched in case she ran into something, she heard a small crack of a twig and froze, looking around.

It was dark, except perhaps for the Full Moon gradually brightening up and a slight part of it still clouded.

"H-hello?!"

Cherith paused at the sound of the familiar voice and blinked.

"God, I'm going crazy!"

The voice sighed and Cherith's eyes widened.

Jenna?!

Jenna!!!

With a huge grin, she stumbled towards the voice, catching sight of her aunt holding a small torchlight while also struggling with a crossbow?

What the—

Jenna's neck snapped towards the sound of footsteps and she let out a scream at the sight of a… mud… thing… rushing towards her.

"Oh my God!"

She dropped her torch with a shriek, angling the crossbow at the deadly creature who stumbled to a stop, hands raised.

"Woah! Chill Jens, it's me!"

Jenna gasped, her heartbeat still going a mile a minute.

"Cherry??"

She crouched, picking the torch and pointed it at said person's face and a look of relief came on hers.

She would recognize her niece anywhere… even if her hair looked like a troll had helped her wash it… and she looked like she'd just crawled out of a grave or a swamp.

"Oh my God! Cherry! I've been so worried!!"

She threw the crossbow on the ground and rushed to hug the girl, ignoring the dirt on her.

Cherith eagerly hugged her aunt back.

She had missed her so terribly!

"What are you doing here, Jenna?"

Cherith asked after they finally separated and Jenna scoffed.

"You're really asking me that?? You were missing! Missing!!! Of course I had to come back… where the hell were you?! Just because you're emancipated doesn't mean you disappear off the surface of the earth!"

She ranted and Cherith grinned.

"Sorry Jens. Sort of visited my mum."

Jenna blinked for a moment.

And then blinked again.

"You visited your… you know what? That's for later. Are you okay? Are you hurt?"

She looked at Cherith carefully.

"Yes, I'm fine. More importantly, what the hell are you doing in the middle of the woods with a crossbow??"

"Hunting for yo—I mean, looking for you!"

Cherith snorted.

"Okay, Artemis. Where's everyone though? Elena? Jeremy?... Are they okay??"

"They're good. I haven't seen Jeremy since I got here this morning, but Elena was with Stefan and Damon last I remember."

"Oh."

Cherith grouched.

"Those two are still alive."

Jenna raised an eyebrow and Cherith sight, waving at her to continue.

"They were sort of busy. Something about a ritual??"

Cherith blinked.

"Ritual."

"Yes, that. Oh, and can you believe Elijah Smith is a fucking old as dirt vampire?!..."

"Ritual?"

"And I thought he was gorgeous!... I mean, he still is… but still!"

Cherith was in a world of her own though.

Ritual.

Holy fuck!

Her eyes widened as she brought her hand to her head.

"Fuck!! I forgot about the fucking ritual!!"

Fear gripped her at the thought of being too late to stop the ritual.

Her mom's words rang in her head.

There is nothing you can do to stop the ritual from happening…

Her very soul shook as she turned back to the gradually concerned Jenna.

"Jenna…"

A sad look appeared on her face that put Jenna on edge.

"What?... What is it?"

"It's Elena… the ritual… she's not…"

Her voice cut as she gritted her teeth and tightened her fists and Jenna immediately understood what she was saying.

She'd felt they'd been hiding something from her, but this… this was…

"Awoooooo!!!"

The sound of a wolf howling into the full moon pierced the air and Jenna shook at just how powerful and hollow it sounded.

Cherith though, immediately turned around, staring into the darkness.

She knew it was probably not the original… this one was different, very familiar…

Was it… was it freaking Tyler??!!

"Shit!"

She looked around urgently.

"Cherry? What was that??... Was it a wo—"

"Shh Jenna! It'll hear—oh fuck!"

Cherith moved in front of her aunt as just a few feet away, in the darkness with hundreds of trees surrounding them, Tyler Lockwood the Wolf stumbled on them.

But he couldn't recognize them though.

As he only recognized them as one thing.

Prey.

So that's it!

Jenna centric chapter.

Jenna is tired of all the shit that has been going on!

So I decided on a Jenna and Cherith team up.

Cherith has never taken on a wolf before… wolves are fast and slender and easily dodge things thrown at them. Don't forget their sharp, frothing jaws filled with venomous fanged teeth.

Uh-oh indeed.

Lol, poor Cherith, destiny really said 'even though you're a mythical being, I'm older and more wiser though.'

Destiny is definitely going to try to stop Cherith from interfering and I truly want Klaus to become an hybrid.

Hybrid Klaus was fun to watch. Anytime someone killed his hybrids, he looked like he was going through an internal crisis.

He hasn't truly met Cherith yet so… and besides, everyone is partially going through their own stuff but hey! This is a Cherith Story so… eh!

Did you see what I did there with Timmy Turner?!Lmao! The poor boy!

They really thought he was in a romantic relationship with Cherith.

I'm sure Katherine did it just to spite Cherith.

On another note…I stumbled on some of my old stories I thought were deleted from years back.

One was a Gilbert twin story who wasn't actually even related to Elena. Guess what her birth name was?Hope.

Lol, it made me laugh at the odds because I wrote the story when TVD was still ongoing.

TVD was still half way through season 3 when I wrote it so when I reread some parts I realized that I had created a witch version of hope before there ever was a witch version of hope in Originals, lol.

Only difference is that my Hope was in a relationship with Kol.

Thanks for reading!!
