Wow that was a huge break I took! Time for my authorly update I suppose. I had another breakdown of sorts and now I'm on some medications and everything is okay again. It was really hard writing this chapter, and so it's gonna be kind of short. Just a heads up! More after the story.

"I would strongly advise against this course of action," JARVIS informed us urgently, "I have already informed Mr. Stark and he is on his way." I bit my lip and glanced at Pendragon.

"I don't want to hide out down here until Mr. Big Bad goes away, Pen?" I asked.

"I don't know Jack," the blond merman frowned, "He's dangerous." I inhaled deeply, straightening my spine.

"Yes, but so are we." The elevator door opened in front of me and I walked in with my head held high, "At the very least we can be a distraction until Tony and Steve get here." Pendragon sighed and followed me in. I pressed the button for the balcony level.

The door opened slowly, and I took a tentative step into the lounge. On the balcony, I saw the invader standing with his back to us. I crouched, balancing on the balls of my feet. Pendragon followed my example and we stealthily moved behind the couch.

I mustered up my power, silently turning the faucets in the nearby bathroom on. If worse came to worse, I'd need that water. Loki, however, must have heard the running water and decided to come see what was going on.

"I know you're in here," His voice flowed through the room like honey, British honey, "Come out now, no need to hide…."

Forcing myself to breathe, I camouflaged myself, Pendragon doing the same. I stood up, just enough to see over the couch. He was very close, and he was also very attractive. His eyes drifted over to me, and the corner of his mouth twitched. I could have sworn he stared right at me, his eyes meeting mine, and then he looked away, quickly. I reached out with my power, pulling the water out of the faucet and towards me. Pendragon reached out and touched my hand reassuringly.

"Ah!" I squealed in surprise. Pendragon recoiled, but Loki didn't react. I knew for a fact he had heard me, but he was pretending he didn't. Shooting a concerned look towards my boyfriend, I gnawed the inside of my cheek. In the corner of my eye, I saw a puddle forming.

Licking my lips in concentration, I focused on the water. Loki's back was turned and I had my chance. A bubble of water lifted off the floor and froze into an ice spear. I aimed at his shoulder, the one holding his own spear and plunged it in deep. Loki screeched in pain, and dropped the spear with a clatter, his blood dripping off of the ice. I flinched, sick to my stomach. I stood up, revealing myself. I walked over to the injured man.

"Don't make me kill you," I commanded him, "Don't move until I allow it." My voice barely shook, and I felt powerful, that was, until he vanished in a flash of green. My icicle dropped to the floor and broke in the middle, and the blood disappeared. All of a sudden, a hand gripped my throat and yanked me backwards.

In my panic, I lashed out, splashing water behind the couch and onto Pendragon. At least he'd be safe for the moment.

"So, an aquamancer?" Loki purred in my ear. I gripped his hand, trying to loosen his grip. "Quite the trick you had there, you sneaky bitch. Striking while my back was turned? You fight dirty. I like that…" I tried to slow my breathing, and kicked his shin with my heel. He shook me in response.

"Get… Get off of me!" I panted, fighting for air. Loki threw me to the floor in front of him. I scrambled to my feet and reached for the water again. Suddenly, the water exploded in a blast of light. I screamed and staggered back.

"Now now," Loki tutted, "Don't get any ideas about fighting back. I could use someone with abilities like yours. Why don't you join me? Fight on my side?"

I spat at him, "I'd never betray my friends!" Loki's smile faded.

"You don't have a choice in the matter…" He said firmly. Fear seized my insides as he approached, spear raised. He could have stabbed me, but instead, he rested the tip against my sternum. A cool rush spiraled from that point, flowing through my veins, into my heart and into my head. I started to feel peaceful, and my breathing regulated instantly. Steam rising in the corner of my vision yanked me from that peace.

"Jacqueline?" I heard Pendragon ask as he stood up. I smiled at him.

"Jacqueline?" Loki asked, "So that is your name? Jacqueline, bring the boy to me."

I started to say no, but my body reacted on it's own. "Yes sir," I heard my voice say as it advanced towards Pen. I tried to scream, but the sound never even started in my throat. I had no control over my body at all.

"Jack, what are you doing?" Pen backed up.

Pendragon run! I screamed.

WOW that was exciting wasn't it? Who knows when I'm going to update again? MUWAHAHAHA!
