Since it was brought up in a review, yes I am aware there's something of a Worf Effect going on with the Generals. Yes it's annoying, but there are reasons for it. Just remember, just because someone is strong doesn't mean they're always going to be strong, whether by accident or by their own choice.

With that said.

The train rattled forward into the tunnel, the sound of metal on metal filling the tunnel along with the sound of rushing wind. The one guard in the caboose watched the walls of the tunnel zoom past until he heard a loud thunk from the roof of the car. Given everything that had just happened before the train got moving, he didn't want to take any chances and took out his radio. He clicked it on and barely managed to say, "Boss, I think they're on board," when he got kicked from behind and was sent screaming out of the car. By some miracle he had managed to not die from the fall, not that it mattered since the train was now long gone.

"Sorry, you don't have a ticket!" Taiyang shouted after him before he scratched his cheek and muttered, "Then again, we're no better I guess." With a shrug Taiyang moved back inside and toward the hatch he had used to get in from the roof, where the rest of the team was waiting. The wind whipped Qrow's cape, Summer's cloak, and Raven's hair behind them as they moved up the train.

"So what exactly is the plan here Sum?" Qrow asked looking at Summer, "You know, besides fight everyone here and crash the train?"

"We'll need to be careful about that with all the Dust on this thing," Summer said and stopped at the head of the car they were on and looked back at the twins while Taiyang walked up to them. "I don't want to die in a Dust explosion after all. If we can stop the train without destroying it all the better. I don't like the General being here though, so we should try and make killing it our priority."

"Agreed, but why don't we try to get some info out of it before we kill it," Raven suggested, "Salem, their plans, whatever we can."

"If we can, otherwise just kill it. We don't need this to be harder than it already is." Zwei started barking and got their attention as he scratched at a hatch at the team's feet. "Is something up boy?" Summer asked as Taiyang pushed Zwei away and opened the hatch. He flinched away from it when he saw a large device covered in wires leading to a LCD screen in the middle along with several Dust ports along it.

"Ah shit, is that what I think it is?" Qrow asked.

"Yup, that's a bomb," Summer answered with a grim nod, "So that's what they were talking about."

"Why would they need a bomb that big?" Raven asked.

"I told you they were planning something big. But hey, look on the bright side, at least they aren't crazy enough to-" Summer was interrupted by the bomb humming to life and started counting down. "Never mind, they are! MOVE!"

"You had to say something!" Raven shouted angrily as they all moved to the next car except for Qrow who hopped down to the car couplings. He drew Harbinger and prepared to cut the caboose loose when the coupling detached with a clank and the car's wheels sparked as the brakes activated. Raven peeked over the edge and down at Qrow. "Good job, you didn't screw up this time."

"That wasn't me, it just happened!" Qrow shouted back up while he watched the car until the bomb went off. The explosion, along with the Dust reaction of its cargo, was big enough to knock the car up into the ceiling of the tunnel and create a large hole. "Well, that's not good…"

"Yeah, we got more bad news!" Summer called back from another hatch that Zwei was pawing at and found another bomb.

"You're joking me," Raven muttered as Qrow climbed up next to her and slung his weapon across his shoulder.

"Don't think they are. We're also about to have company soon," Qrow said and pointed down the train where a group of White Fang soldiers were starting to climb up onto the train.

"Idiots. Do they want to die that badly?" Raven asked just as the car they were on shook and started slowing down. With the sound of squealing brakes in their ears, the twins sprinted and jumped to the next car. Qrow moved in between his team and the soldiers with Harbinger held up in case someone with a gun got smart while the rest looked back at the car as it exploded.

"What's with this waste of resources? What the hell is that bowler hat idiot doing!?" Summer shouted while Raven pressed the side of her mask to zoom in on the crash. She narrowed her eyes and focused on the hole in the ceiling just as a Beowolf fell in.

"That's not good," Raven said and released the scope and looked up, "Those bombs are making holes to the streets above us."

"In a city that's full of Grimm, that will come down," Taiyang added worriedly.

"And we're on a train full of pissed off people," Qrow said.

"That's heading right to Vale," Summer finished looking at the front of the train, "Oh crap, is Moon planning a full breach!?"

"It's quite a jump from Dust robbery, I'll give it that," Qrow said and flinched away from a bullet that hit Harbinger, "hey douchebag, we're trying to have a conversation!"

"But isn't the tunnel sealed? Wouldn't that minimize the damage?" Taiyang asked.

"I very much doubt that any bulkheads used would stop a train going at full speed," Raven replied and growled when a bullet hit near her feet, "Alright, those guys have got to go!"

"And so do those bombs," Summer added and rubbed her chin in thought. "They're probably all loaded inside the train, so that's where we'll need to be. Disarm the bombs, clear the train, and stop it before it hits Vale."

"And the General?"

"Hope that it comes last." Summer drew York and Soleil and watched the large group of White Fang soldiers coming at them. "Let's get a few cars ahead to get some breathing room. You have point Qrow."

"Got it. And the RoE?" Qrow asked glancing back at Summer.

"I don't think I need to explain," Summer answered, her gaze serious and focused.

"Got it." Qrow spun Harbinger once to catch a few stray bullets and held it to his side as he charged ahead with his team behind him and Zwei pattering along behind them.

Roman wasn't exactly having the best day at the moment given everything that has happened a few minutes ago. He would have focused on anything other than the controls for the train, or at the very least light up a cigar, but he was sure his 'guest' would have some objections to that given how 'she' was leaning against the wall of the train with its arms crossed and eyes closed. The door to the control room opened and a soldier poked his head inside.

"Hey boss? Those kids got onto the train," he said while eyeing the Creature of Grimm warily.

"Well, get some men together and get them off!" Roman said, shaking his head in agitation.

"We're trying, but they're kind of… slaughtering us?"

"What?" Roman asked and looked at Moon when she started laughing to herself.

"You weren't prepared to fight real Huntsman," she said and opened her eyes to look at the soldier in the door and give him a sick smirk. "Especially ones who learned not to hold back when they can't afford to. I wonder if you learn just as fast?"

"Um…" the soldier stammered out and glanced at Roman. Roman, for his part, sighed and turned to look at the soldier.

"Look, get some of the others, grab some robots, and get them off! This shouldn't be hard, they're just kids!" The soldier nodded and left, the door sliding shut behind him with a hiss and leaving the room quiet as Roman turned back to the console. "Stupid animals!" The engineer next to Roman glanced at him at the outburst, but said nothing as Roman added, "Er, not you of course. You're doing fine."

"Of course he is… for a grub," Moon added along with a quiet laugh. Roman looked back at her as she looked toward the back of the train with a small smile. "And to think I didn't want to come here at first. This has suddenly gotten a lot more interesting."

Despite what Roman said, fighting on top of a train was very difficult. Especially if you weren't used to it as both the White Fang and Team STRQ found. Even so, they both still went at each other. Qrow shot past the front line to dive right into the crowd and knocked several of them out of the way while the ones on the frontlines had to deal with the rest. It didn't bode well for them when the first guy who tried to attack got his arm caught by Taiyang and then summarily thrown straight through a hatch on the roof.

After that the soldiers were wary to approach him, not that the other nearby choice of Summer was any better since her sword skills, well placed shots, and tactical position made her hard to approach. The few who managed soon had their attacks deflected and were soon put down by her or were redirected to one of her nearby teammates who did the job for her.

And then there were the poor fools who ended up facing Raven. Unlike her teammates who at least tried to keep their lethality down, Raven didn't bother and cut down anyone who got too close to her. She kept her face set and blank, which was made easier thanks to her mask, while she swung her sword with practiced precision.

"Raven, left!" Summer shouted suddenly. Raven hopped backwards to dodge the saber that was swung at her, parried a follow up swing upwards, and countered with a downward swing that tore into the attacker's chest. He gasped at the pain and grabbed at the wound before Raven kicked him off the train and moved onto the next soldier. He was naturally wary of Raven, but still went for an attack only to get his sword blocked in the right way for Raven to slide her sword down it and across his throat. She rolled out of the way of the blood spray and watched a woman in front of her get knocked off the train when another was thrown into her.

Summer blinked past her and dropkicked another soldier and launched off him into a backflip as he went flying backwards with a scream. She landed and held York up to block a blow before shooting her in the leg in retaliation. The soldier screamed, backed up a step, and got hit in the chest by Summer when the pressure was gone and knocked off the train. Summer blinked up into a side flip to dodge another sword and followed with another pistol shot that hit his arm and caused him to stumble back to Taiyang.

Summer landed in a low crouch so Raven could use her as a step to jump into the air and bring her sword down on a soldier with small deer antlers coming out of her hood. She had managed to get her saber up fast enough to block Raven and grit her teeth as she held it there with as much effort as she could while staring at Raven's red eyes leering through her mask. With a small bite of fear filling her, she took a chance and took a step forward to try and kick Raven's feet out from under her.

That didn't go how she thought since Raven dodged backwards, hit the flat of her sword on the soldier's hand holding the blade, and parried the saber up and away. She was helpless as Raven took the chance to dive in for the kill and stabbed her sword right into the soldier's side under her armpit. It lasted only a second before Raven pulled her sword out and turned away from the soldier as she collapsed on her knees coughing blood and trying desperately to breath through a pierced lung. Her body was already going limp however and her vision started to blur.

"Demons…" was the only thing she could say as she collapsed and let out her last breath, the rattling of the train causing her body to roll off the train. Raven watched this and flicked the loose blood off her blade before she looked over at her brother, who suddenly found himself alone as the soldiers retreated with shouts of 'fall back!' following them.

"I think they finally got the hint!" Qrow shouted and looked back as his team jogged up to join him. "You think we're far enough ahead?"

Summer looked back at the train cars behind her and nodded. "Looks like it. I don't think any more have disconnected, so maybe they're trying to space them out now?"

"If that's true, then we have some time right?"

"Maybe, but not enough to take care of all the bombs individually. It'd probably be better to work our way to the one holding the main remote, if you get my meaning."

"Torchwick," Taiyang answered. When he got a nod from Summer, he moved to a hatch on the train car and stomped on it. The door fell inside and Taiyang knelt down to look inside when the train shook a little. They looked further up and saw a Paladin shakily climb onto the top of the train a few cars ahead, which got an annoyed groan from Taiyang. "Goddammit, fuck off with this!"

"We don't have time to deal with this," Raven said and reaffirmed her grip on her sword as she turned to face the Paladin, "I'll take care of this."

"Are you sure?" Summer asked, looking between Raven and the Paladin, "It's a giant robot."

"I'm aiming for bigger targets anyway," Raven replied and moved her sword to her other hand to hold in front of Summer. "Give me a light?" she asked and looked back at Summer, who shared the look for a moment before lighting York and striking it against the blade. With her newly ignited blade, Raven moved it back to her right hand and started walking to the Paladin while Taiyang and Qrow dropped into the car. Summer thought for a moment before she shut off York's fire and sheathed it before she looked at Zwei.

"Stay with her Zwei, keep each other safe," she ordered the corgi, who barked and ran over to Raven's side. Raven herself looked back at Summer, no doubt incredulous at the order, only for Summer to drop into the car after the boys. Raven then looked at Zwei, who looked up at her with his tongue lolling out, and she rolled her eyes under the mask.

"You want to earn my respect mutt?" she asked, getting Zwei to stand at attention as she pointed her flaming sword at the Paladin, "Then help me take that down."

Zwei barked and turned to growl at the Paladin. He then jumped up and curled up into a ball, an action that Raven managed to understand with little effort. Zwei bounced once while Raven reared her sword back and swung it at the dog, the flat of the blade hitting him, causing him to burst into flame and launch toward the mech. The ball of flaming angry dog flew through the air until it hit the Paladin and exploded in a great fireball that blasted the mech off the train.

Raven stared wide-eyed at the carnage, frozen as the Paladin's wreckage flew past her on the track and Zwei landed on his feet no worse for wear, and grinned madly under her mask.

"Okay."

The explosion was felt by the rest of STRQ as they made their way through the train car, which was probably big enough to probably have held dozens of people back when Mountain Glenn was still around. Summer led the way with Soleil drawn with the boys following close behind, all the while carefully looking around for anything odd. "At least Raven's having fun. I think we're the only ones here," Taiyang said and relaxed his stance a little.

"Ice Cream was hanging around here," Summer replied and looked back at Taiyang, "so don't let your guard down too much." Taiyang gave Summer a quick thumbs up as they walked. They only got a few feet before Summer saw the metal case of a bomb on one of the seats and rushed over to it. "Not activated, thank god. They must have been rushed more than I thought if this isn't properly hidden."

"That's convenient," Taiyang said looking over the bomb. "So… do you know how to disarm it Sum?"

"Of course I don't! It's not like there are extracurriculars for this kind of thing!"

"Well, I wouldn't be surprised if you did know."

"And I don't think it's a good idea to try that with me around," Qrow added as he peeked around Summer at the bomb, "who knows what could happen?"

"Well we have to get rid of it! Do you see how much Dust is on this train!"

"Yeah, I noticed! You got an idea on what to do?" The boy's argument was interrupted when Summer turned around and fired Soleil twice at one of the windows. Qrow and Taiyang flinched away from Summer as she set the pistol down on the seat, picked up the bomb with both hands, and moved to throw it through the broken window with a shout.

"There, problem solved," Summer said and watched as a second Paladin fell onto the tracks outside, taking a moment to process that before turning back to retrieve her weapon. "Just do that with any more we find. We don't have time for anything else."

"Ah, the 'fuck it' method. I'm down for that," Qrow said with a nod.

"At least give us a warning before you go firing that thing off," Taiyang complained as he cleaned out an ear with his pinkie, "that shit is loud!"

"Sorry," Summer said with a shrug before walking to the door to the next car. The boys shared a look and followed her. The next car was the same model as the first, though with more modifications done to the inside and several crates set to the side. The bomb for this car was on one of these crates, loosely held down by a singular strap.

"I got it," Qrow said as he walked over to it and looked it over. Once he was sure it wasn't wired to anything he took the strap off and threw the bomb out a window, smirking at the sound of shattering glass. "That's a lot of fun actually. We gotta break shit more often."

"As long as it doesn't belong to us," Summer said glancing back at Qrow. "We need to pick up the pace if we're going to—"

Suddenly Summer was knocked off her feet by thin air and flew back towards Taiyang. "Sum!" Taiyang shouted when Summer landed on her back and skidded back a few feet. Wasting no time she aimed at where she had just been and fired twice, the bullets shattering the air like glass when they hit a familiar looking parasol. Neo moved to sling it over her shoulder and smirked as Summer got to her feet.

"You again," Summer growled and trained her pistol on Neo, "you just can't stay out of my way can you?"

"This must be how they feel about us," Qrow said and grabbed Harbinger's handle, "let's just kill her and get on with it."

"She's slippery," Summer said and narrowed her eyes as Neo shut her parasol and gripped it with both hands behind her head, "and if she stalls us too long we'll be in serious trouble."

"Then screw her," Taiyang said and massaged a fist, "you guys go ahead and I'll take her on."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, I've been wanting a rematch anyway." Summer looked at Taiyang for a moment before nodding and looking back at Neo. She raised an eyebrow when Summer and Qrow ran at her and raised her parasol to block a couple of shots from Summer before she Blinked past her. Neo gave her a cursory glance before looking at Qrow as he jumped over her and swiped his sword at her that she blocked with her parasol. When they both landed they ran into the next car, Qrow sparing a glance back before the door closed.

"Just us now. You're not going to get as lucky this time," Taiyang said and shook out an arm before settling into a fighting stance. Neo closed her parasol and swung it around to hold in a reverse grip and smirked at Taiyang, waiting for him to make the first move. Neither of them moved for a while, simply staring the other down, until Taiyang shrugged. "Ladies first."

Neo frowned and moved to hold her parasol behind her with both hands, though once she did that Taiyang stood up straight, stretched his arms over his head, and let out a yawn.

"Don't want to fight huh? I can't blame you really, not after the ass beating we gave you last time." Neo's eye twitched and she gripped her parasol tighter as Taiyang scratched his hair and started casually walking over to her. "Well if that's how it is, it's fine. I have more important things to do anyway. Later Ice Cream."

Taiyang stepped to the side to walk past Neo, which was just about the last straw for her. When he was close enough she swung her parasol at him, which was blocked by Taiyang before he grabbed it with this free hand and kicked at her. Neo flipped over the kick and used her parasol to throw Taiyang over her and toward the back of the car, though he managed to land on his hands and flip back onto his feet with a laugh.

"There we go! You just needed some coaxing!" Taiyang said getting back into stance and slowly edging over to Neo, "Or you just like fighting on your terms. This'll be fun." Neo rolled her eyes and shifted her parasol into a normal hold as she walked toward Taiyang. She was practically in his face when he threw a punch that was easily deflected. Neo used the opening to kick at Taiyang's legs, which was deflected by a kick of his own. He used the wider stance to plant himself and push Neo away before launching a roundhouse kick at her head.

Having barely stumbled from the shove, Neo ducked under the kick and popped open her parasol to block a follow-up kick. The block to her view caused her to not see the slight glow of Aura surrounding the kick, which caused her to buckle under a much harder attack than she anticipated. Taiyang gave off a quick laugh, which caused Neo to scowl and angle her parasol so the leg slipped off the top. She gave a quick spin, closing her parasol as she did so, and thrust it at Taiyang only for him to catch it between his arm and body.

With Neo locked in place Taiyang hooked a leg behind one of hers, put his hand on her face, and threw her forward while sweeping her legs out from under her. The back of Neo's head hit the floor, her Aura flaring at the damage, and Taiyang let go of the parasol to hit Neo away with a spinning back kick to her back. Neo got a hand under her and flipped onto her feet long enough to throw her parasol at Taiyang before continuing backwards in a series of flips. Taiyang blocked the parasol, though the impact pushed him back and launched the parasol back towards Neo. She caught it just as she stopped flipping and sat cross legged and smiling on a Dust crate.

"You know, that's a good idea," Taiyang said when he saw that and flopped down on one of the seats, his arms splayed on the back rest and crossed his legs. "It's always a good idea to rest up during a long fight. I don't know if fights to the death count, but my folks never said otherwise."

Neo's smile gradually fell as he talked. She didn't exactly have a high opinion of Taiyang given past experiences, but this wasn't helping at all. If anything, he was rapidly rising to the top of her 'hated persons' list.

"So… are you just quiet or can you actually not talk?"

Very rapidly.

"He'll be ok, right?" Qrow asked as Summer disposed of another bomb.

"I'm sure he will. Ice Cream's a tough customer, but we've only been getting better too," Summer replied as she dusted off her hands and drew Soleil, "For now, let's focus on these bombs and Moon." The train shook again from an explosion and Qrow saw a few White Fang soldiers fall off the train screaming through the windows. "And avoid getting caught up in whatever's happening up there. What is she doing up there?"

"Cutting loose probably. You've hardly ever seen her when she really doesn't hold back," Qrow said and flinched at another explosion. "Still, I'm surprised she can take on those mechs by herself. She must be pissed about something."

"You can tell the difference?" Summer asked before she shrugged and started walking to the door, "She always seems mad to me. Well, as long as it's not directed at us it should be fine. Let's just-"

Sparks suddenly flew from the door and Summer barely managed to jump back in time to avoid a chainsaw blade that started sawing through it. The door opened before it was finished cutting through and revealed a massive White Fang soldier in a full face mask carrying a chainsaw longsword. He slowly stalked toward them with the blade held barely an inch off the ground and uncaring of Summer aiming her gun at him.

"Oh come on, what's with all these people!?" Summer growled out.

"He's a White Fang higher up. I saw him at the rally," Qrow explained and drew Harbinger, "I think you should go ahead."

"What?"

"Call me crazy, but I think he has the hots for me," Qrow said, laying Harbinger on his shoulder as he met the Lieutenant's stare, "And you got your own dance to go to." Summer and Qrow shared a look and nodded before Summer moved a hand down to her sword handle and ran at the Lieutenant. He lifted his chainsaw and tried to bring it down on Summer, only for her to draw her sword and Blink past him. The blade dug into his side as she passed him, causing him to grunt in pain while his Aura flared to block the blow, and Summer ran out the door further into the train.

"Too bad," Qrow said as the Lieutenant found his footing again, "guess you'll just have to dance with me. You'll wish you hadn't though."

"We'll see, little man," the Lieutenant growled out before pressing a finger to his ear. "One got past me, a girl in a white cloak. I'll deal with her friend." He pulled his finger away and redoubled his grip on his weapon, Qrow doing the same with Harbinger as they both readied themselves.

"Are you fucking kidding me!? They're kids! Why is it so hard for you animals to stop them!?"

Weiss chuckled to herself at the sight of Roman losing his temper, more so the very real anger he was giving off as he shouted into his scroll.

'It was very much worth it to come here,' Weiss thought before she asked, "Are you having a little trouble Roman?" Roman looked back at her, anger scrunching up his face, and shook his head after a moment. He snapped his scroll shut, grabbed his cane, and stomped to the door at the back of the room. "And where are you off to?"

"I'm going to take care of this. Just watch everything here until I get back."

"Bold of you to order me around," Weiss said with another chuckle and watched as Roman left the room, leaving her and the lone conductor alone in the room. Without Roman filling the room with anger, Weiss focused on the conductor as he filled the cabin with fear. Weiss pushed off the wall, eliciting a spike of fear from the conductor to her amusement, and walked over to the console. She was only there for a moment when she saw him turn his head slightly towards her and give off another spike of fear.

'I might as well put him out of this misery,' she thought and leaned a little closer to the console. "You know," she said, causing the conductor to jump in surprise, "I heard that trains like this have a sort of safety system to prevent crashes. What was it called again? It was…"

"…A dead man's switch?" the conductor offered.

"Yes, I believe that's it. It activates the brakes if it's not reset every few minutes right? I don't believe it's here though, not from what I can see."

"Well… that's because we removed it." The conductor missed the smile on Weiss' face as she straightened up and started pacing a little. "We've been moving these trains back and forth so much that dealing with it was just too much of a hassle." He paused for a moment and rubbed his chin in thought. "Thinking about it now, that's probably a bad idea. We should have left that in." It was only now he realized Weiss had stopped behind him.

"Yes, it was." Pain exploded from his chest and a shower of blood covered the console. He looked down at his chest and saw one of Weiss' arms thrust through it from behind. In her armored hand was his heart, futilely beating. "Because I can do that and ruin nothing," Weiss said and let the heart go, the muscle bouncing on the console and onto the floor.

Weiss pulled her arm back out of the conductor, the force pulling him backwards and onto the floor. She shook the blood off her arm as she watched him grab at the hole in his chest while gasping for air until he finally stilled. With that done she left him where he lay, gave the console one last glance, and started walking to the back of the car. 'Time to see if the Huntress lives up to my sister's hype,' Weiss thought as the train shook from another explosion. 'And then there's whoever's causing that havoc.' Weiss chuckled to herself and rubbed her chin as she smiled.

"What a day."

"Will you idiots stop shaking the train! What is even happening up there!?"

"Sorry if we're busy fighting a fucking demon!" a soldier shouted into a radio as several others climbed into what remaining Paladins they had. They had thought four would be enough for the attack, which was very quickly proven wrong given how quickly two of them were destroyed. They didn't even see what happened, only a fireball knocking the mechs off the train. Still, there were two left and they were going to use them as best they could.

The bravado of the pilots lasted until one started closing the front of the cockpit when it was blocked by the 'demon' when she jumped in the way. The way she looked to him, hands covered in blood with a stark white mask and deep red eyes, all he could do was let out a yell of fear before he was stabbed in the chest with her sword. While grasping at the blade he was lifted out of the cockpit and tossed off the train, the blade still in his chest having separated from the hilt.

With the cockpit now empty, Raven sheathed the hilt and hopped in to take a quick look at the controls. After a test with the control sticks extended one of the arms, Raven jerked them to the left which spun the top of the mech around and dragged its arms along the floor of the car. Any soldiers that were in the way were knocked off the train and into the side of the sole remaining Paladin. Metal scraped against metal as the force of the impact knocked the other mech to the side. One of its legs shot out to try and catch it from falling only to step off the train itself and fall off fully when the speed of the passing ground caught it and pulled it off.

Raven ignored the bang as the mech hit the car behind her as she looked over the controls one more time. Out of curiosity, she pressed down on one of the pedals and gasped when it lurched to the side. She had barely managed to jump from the cockpit onto the flatbed and looked back at the Paladin as it stepped off the train and disappeared when it hit one of the metal scaffolding supporting the tunnels.

"What the fuck was that!? Why would a pedal make it go sideways!?" Raven shouted and rubbed her mask in irritation. "Leave it to Atlas to make tech do something dumb. Fucking Ironwood." A bark broke her out of her thoughts and Raven looked up to see Zwei jump off the top of the car and trot over to her. He sat down in front of her, his tongue lolled out, and stared up at her as if expecting something. Raven rolled her eyes and knelt down to give the dog some light scratches on his head.

"Alright, I'll admit that was easier with you around. Or maybe the pilots were just shittier than Torchwick. Either way, you've earned a bit of my respect." Zwei barked in response and tilted his head as Raven stopped scratching and stood up. She pressed the side of her mask and said, "I'm all done out here. Anyone need help?"

"I wouldn't mind a hand," Taiyang answered.

"Coming right up." Raven took her hand away and snapped her fingers, creating a portal that she glared into. "Mutt, ball," she said and watched Zwei as he bounced and curled up into a ball. Raven reared a leg back and kicked the dog ball into the portal before walking in after, her hand going to her sword on instict.

Summer ran through the train car with her eyes set only on the next set of doors. She was focused, a kind she had rarely found herself in. Nothing else mattered but the doors. Bombs were noted and just as quickly forgotten as she ran, her knuckles were starting to ache from how hard she was gripping her weapons, and if she had encountered any White Fang soldiers on the way she either didn't notice them or they didn't last long enough to be noticed.

At that moment, all that mattered to Summer was making sure that that Grimm General was found and put down. Everything else could wait until then. Summer ran through a door and slowed down when she saw someone she very much didn't want to deal with right now.

"Hey there squirt," Roman said twirling his cane with a smirk, "we just keep running into each other like this, don't we?"

"Get out of my way," Summer said simply and continued walking, her eyes firmly locked on the door behind Roman. She stopped when Roman aimed and fired at her, the shot landing where she had been before she had Blinked backwards. When the smoke disappeared Summer glared at Roman as he smirked at her.

"What, just because some other fish shows up I'm suddenly yesterday's news?" Roman asked while waving a finger. "Now that hurts squirt."

"Like I care, trash is trash no matter what they are. Do you even understand what you're working with, or do you just not care if you smell money?"

"I won't deny that, but I'm more interested in staying alive. You've seen how they treat people they don't like, so I want to stay on the good side of that."

"So you're a coward on top of it all huh? Well then get out of my way and you won't have to worry about her anymore."

"Yeah, that's not going to happen. Unlike you, I—" Roman's rebuttal was interrupted by Summer firing at him and forcing him to block the bullets. The first hit near his feet while he managed to block the last two.

"I don't need to hear anymore from you," Summer said, lowering Soleil and igniting York with a quick swing, "So either get out of my way, or get ready to be put down."

"Oh ho ho, now you're speaking my language." Roman fired a shot that Summer dodged by jumping onto the wall before Blinking toward him. Roman blocked Summer's sword with his cane, the fire coming off the blade getting a little too close to his liking, and flung Summer away from him to another wall. Summer got a shot off that barely missed Roman's head before she flipped, landed feet first, and launched toward Roman again.

Roman swung his cane at her only to miss when she Blinked down to the floor, landed on her shoulder and bounced into a flip, and fired twice at him that both hit home. Roman's Aura flared as he swung his cane at Summer and missed, slamming his cane into the floor while she Blinked away to land on the opposite wall. For a brief moment Summer and Roman locked eyes before she launched at him again, sword and cane crossing as she flew past him.

This repeated two more times with Roman being worn down from the pressure until Summer saw an opening. Roman had flinched a little too much from the flames coming off York on a pass and had closed his eyes. So on the next launch Summer swept Roman's legs out from under him and left him sprawled on the floor. She landed in a roll and aimed backwards at Roman as he was starting to get back up and fired a shot that both floored him and broke his Aura. All Roman could do was groan as Summer walked over to him, kicked his cane away, and stepped on his neck.

"Gah, easy!" Roman said grabbing Summer's boot only to get the tip of a flaming sword stuck in his face.

"Enough of this shit! Where's the General!?" Summer demanded pressing her foot down harder on Roman's neck.

"Really, that's what you're worried about? Shouldn't there be something more 'explosive' to worry about?"

"I'll take care of that as well, but I also have prio—" Summer was cut off by a door opening.

"You know, as much as I like sitting around like this, I do have other things I'd like to do. So whenever you're ready. You know, this reminds me of this one time when—"

She hated him. With every fiber of her being, Neo hated this blonde muscle head sitting in front of her. He was just talking about whatever came to his mind as he sat there, and judging from the smirk on his face he was loving every second of her life he wasted. It was nearly enough to get her to rush him as fast as possible and end his life right there. Unfortunately Neo knew that would be foolish considering he had the strength to toss a girl hard enough to knock a metal door right off its hinges.

Best keep her distance until she was sure she'd actually win.

"And then Gale slugged him hard in the… you don't care, do you? About any of this?" Taiyang asked and swept a hand across the train while looking at Neo. "Which I get, don't get me wrong. I don't care about you either, I just wanted to waste your time for a bit. I'm sure Sum's kicking Torchwick's ass right about now, huh?"

Neo's eye twitched.

"And on that note," Taiyang stretched his arms and stood up, "I'm gonna jet, since you don't want to fight. Later Ice Cream." He gave Neo a small salute and started walking away.

That was the last straw for Neo and she showed it by rolling backwards and kicking the crate she had been sitting on at Taiyang. Taiyang backflipped and let the crate slide under him and crash into the seat he had just been sitting on while he landed on top of the backrest in a handstand. His body rocked along with the train as he looked at Neo with a grin.

"Oh hey, you got your fight back! Great, I was really dying of boredom!" Taiyang launched off the chair toward Neo and brought a leg down on her, which was deflected by her parasol. His foot slammed onto the floor and Taiyang rolled backward into a handstand to kick back at Neo. She managed to jump out of the way of the attack and readied herself as Taiyang got to his feet and started edging towards her.

This is how it went as the two danced around the other's blows while any straight attacks were blocked outright or countered into glancing blows. The glancing blows were starting to add up and both Neo and Taiyang were starting to feel the strain from the fight. At this point both were just waiting for a proper opening for a finishing blow.

Neo saw her chance when she blocked a punch and used his arm to flip onto him and wrap her legs around his neck. She balanced on him for a moment until Taiyang leapt backwards in an attempt to slam her into the floor. This is what she was counting on since she put her hands underneath her and levered her body to throw Taiyang onto the ground, where he landed roughly on his shoulders and tumbled for a few feet before settling on his back.

"Ah… that sucked," Taiyang muttered and looked up at a smirking Neo as she drew a blade from her parasol.

"I'm all done out here. Anyone need help?" Taiyang couldn't help but smile at the sound of Raven's voice and pressed a finger to his ear.

"I wouldn't mind a hand."

"Coming right up." Taiyang dropped his hand and pushed himself up into a sitting position even as Neo walked toward him twirling her blade. She was nearly on him when Taiyang snapped his fingers and pointed at her.

"Hey Ice Cream, do you remember this trick?" he asked and (thankfully) didn't flinch when a black and red portal opened next to him. Neo blinked at the portal and put her guard up in time to block a black and white ball that came shooting out of it. It hit with a lot more force than she was expecting and was pushed back to nearly the back of the train while the ball uncurled and landed next to Taiyang. She blinked and tilted her head in confusion when she saw a corgi standing next to Taiyang growling at her.

Confusion turned to horror however when a girl walked out of the portal as well. Neo's eyes widened and her irises turned to a stark white when she saw a familiar mask staring at her. Neo took a step back as the girl gripped her scabbard and a whirring noise came from it. "Really? You're having trouble with this bitch again?" she asked and moved her head just enough to look at Taiyang.

"She's surprisingly tough," Taiyang replied with a shrug, "you're more than welcome to try if you want."

"With pleasure," Raven said just as the whirring stopped and she drew her sword. Its red blade gleamed as Raven pointed it at Neo and both girl's eyes met. "After you," Raven said and only got a rapid head shake from Neo as she sheathed the blade, leapt backwards, and shattered into glass pieces that scattered along the floor. "Tch, of course. Coward."

"I wouldn't say that. You can be very scary when you want to be Rae," Taiyang said, drawing Raven's gaze as he started petting Zwei. "So how was the mech business?"

"It's taken care of. They won't bother us."

"That easy for you huh?"

"The mutt proved his worth." Raven looked away from him and sheathed her sword while Taiyang gave Zwei some extra hard scratches.

"You hear that boy? You're growing on her!" Zwei barked in response and walked over to look up at Raven.

"Don't test your luck. So where are the idiots?"

"They ran ahead while I bought time here," Taiyang said and pushed himself up to his feet.

"Of course they did," Raven replied shaking her head, "And they're probably in trouble now. Let's go bail them out."

"Fine with me. Let's go boy!" Zwei barked and followed after Taiyang and Raven as they started running to the front of the train.

Qrow was not having as smooth a time as the others were, though he wasn't exactly surprised at this. Even if it weren't for his luck, fighting a guy with a good head or two over you with a chainsaw sword is going to be difficult no way you cut it. At least it was easy to dodge and block his attacks since chainsaws were unwieldy no matter who wields them.

The roar of the chainsaw filled the car every time the Lieutenant swung his sword, the teeth sending off sparks every time it scraped along Harbinger. It was deflected away from Qrow and he saw his opening to land a couple of slashes before darting away to avoid a backhand from him. He was just as hardy as expected and Qrow was having a rough time whitling his Aura down.

"I don't get why you're so out to get me," Qrow commented, giving Harbinger a light twirl to work some soreness out of his wrist. "I mean, it's not like I did anything particular to you."

"That's what all you humans say," the Lieutenant replied as he dragged his chainsaw along the floor and glared at Qrow. "It's always 'We didn't do anything' while you grind us all into the dirt. All so you can live comfortable lives paid in blood."

"Uh huh, maybe those words would hit harder if they weren't coming from similarly racist and far more violent terrorists. Just saying."

"And there it is. The ones you scared away at the rally were probably the lucky ones, while the ones who did follow us were killed by you." The Lieutenant's grip tightened around his weapon at the thought, a growl of anger escaping from his throat. "Every one of them you murdered had people they cared for, and you write them all off exactly like bastards like Jacques-"

He was cut off by a sudden burst of gunfire, the first hitting home in his chest and flaring his Aura while he managed to get his sword up to block most of the second blast. He glared at Qrow past his blade, the barrels of Harbinger smoking with the blade snapped down.

"I'm stopping you right there. They chose to fight and they died for it," Qrow said and flicked Harbinger's blade back into place, "It sucks, but that's how the world works. If you honestly think differently, you're in for a rough lesson. And frankly I don't have time to worry about every asshole who wants me dead. If I did, my sister would top that list. So sorry if I don't give a shit."

The Lieutenant growled again and ran at Qrow. He swung his sword down, which Qrow dodged and returned with a swipe to his stomach. Once Qrow saw the flare of Aura he jumped away from the Lieutenant, avoiding another swipe from the chainsaw, and countered with an upward slice. Having been off balance from the whiffed attack, the Lieutenant was thrown into the air and barely managed to keep his focus.

Qrow fired midswing, the shot hitting the Lieutenant and speeding up his swing into a second slash. The attack clipped his legs and sent him into a back roll before getting hit by another shot and a third attack. After that Qrow dragged the blade into the floor to stop the spin and jumped up to drop kick him in the chest and send him tumbling across the floor. Once he settled his back and didn't move, Qrow pulled Harbinger out of the floor and walked over to him with his sword held up.

'Is he dead? Nah, no way am I that lucky. Best to be sure,' Qrow thought before raising Harbinger over his head. He swung it down and was blocked by the chainsaw blade. Qrow could only give an annoyed growl as his sword was knocked away and a hand shot out and grabbed his neck.

"Got you, little birdie!" The Lieutenant shouted before standing up and lifting Qrow up to slam into the floor. He was dragged along in a half circle, his Aura flared from the damage, and then thrown into the wall hard enough to bounce off it. While he hung in the air with a large chainsaw coming right at him, Qrow was sure he'd get a pretty painful ending when he had a realization.

'Birdie? Oh yeah.'

The Lieutenant was surprised when Qrow shrunk considerably and left him swinging on thin air. "What!?" he shouted as he was thrown slightly off balance from the missed hit and looked around at the mostly empty car. He thought he saw a flash of black out of the corner of his eye before it disappeared and he felt the bite of metal digging into his back. He growled, revved his chainsaw, and swung it behind him only to miss again. He saw the same flash of black, but this time when he swung he heard metal clicking into place. He barely missed and saw Qrow grinning madly with Harbinger behind him, it's blade just finished clicking into a crooked form, and swung it down with a shout.

The Lieutenant screamed as the blade cut through his arm, leaving his separated hand holding onto the weapon for a second before it relaxed and fell to the floor. He did his best to hold both his weapon and hold his bleeding stump while glaring at Qrow.

"Looks like I win," Qrow said as the blade shifted back to normal.

"As long as I have one arm, I won't stop fighting," the Lieutenant growled and readjusted his grip on his weapon. "Some fucking Human like you isn't going to—"

The door behind Qrow opened and he smirked as he tilted his head to the side enough to let a sword fly by him without harm. It slammed into the Lieutenant's chest and spun back towards Qrow as he jumped into a sideways roll so Raven could dash under him. She grabbed her sword out of the air and slashed at the Lieutenant's arm, causing him to drop his weapon, before landing a spinning straight kick to his chest to knock him back. He flailed at Raven and barely missed as she jumped away from him and stumbled from the pain.

That was when the roar of a chainsaw filled the car again and the Lieutenant saw Taiyang rushing at him, the chainsaw sword at full rev. Taiyang brought it back and shouted as he brought it down as the Lieutenant reflexively held a hand up to try and block it. He screamed the moment the teeth touched his hand and tore his middle finger off before cutting messily through the rest of his hand and forearm. It cut fully through and half of the Lieutenant's arm fell to the floor while he stumbled backwards nearly blinded from the pain.

He felt a kick to his stomach that launched him into a side door and he managed to focus through the pain enough to hear the chainsaw slow down, someone coughing, and metal shifting against each other. He looked up to see Qrow with Harbinger completely unfolded and reared behind him as he readied a swing, a gunshot speeding it up enough to slam the blunt end of the scythe into the Lieutenant's chest and send him crashing through the door.

"Finally! Mother fucker!" Qrow shouted as he spat at the train door and shifted Harbinger back into a sword. Raven walked past him sheathing her sword to look out the door while Qrow looked at Taiyang as he dropped the chainsaw sword and tried to look anywhere that wasn't the leftover arm or the blood all over the floor.

"That's a lot of blood," Taiyang muttered holding a fist over his mouth and looked at Raven as she looked out of the train, "I wasn't ready for that. Are we going to have to worry about him later?" Raven used her mask's scope to see the Lieutenant settle from his roll and barely start to sit up when a pack of Creeps fell on him. She didn't hear him screaming as he tried to kick them away, or see the fear in his eyes as a Creep wrapped its mouth around his head. His mask barely offered any resistance when the Creep bit down.

"No, he's done," Raven answered and looked at her brother, "So where's Summer?"

"She ran ahead," Qrow answered as he swung his sword to get the blood off, "I was just buying her time here."

"Goddammit, we can't even try to stay together can we? Which way?" Qrow gestured at the far door and Raven took off in a run with Zwei following right behind her. The boys shared a look before going after Raven, Taiyang doing his best to step around the blood as he did so.

Summer hadn't been sure who to expect when the door had opened, but seeing her target of the day just strolling in like it was nothing was still a little jarring.

"I'm sorry, but you were talking about those bombs? They're controlled by his scroll," Moon said as she leaned against the side of the door crossing her arms. "It's in his coat's right pocket. It even has an… app, I think you call it."

"What? Who's side are you on!?" Roman demanded just before Summer took her foot off him and stabbed her sword down next to his head.

"Shut it," Summer said as she reached down to search Roman's pocket, her pistol aimed at him while still ready to snap at Moon in a moment's notice. She barely started her search when she found the scroll and flicked it open, followed by her raising an eyebrow at the app clearly marked 'bomb control' with a cartoon bomb icon. "God, you're stupid," she muttered as she opened it and, with the press of a few buttons, disarmed all the bombs on the train.

"What can I say, it's convenient," Roman replied with a smile as Summer stood up and stomped on his face, which knocked him out, knocked his hat off his head, and (she hoped) broke his nose if the small trickle of blood was any indication.

"Shut," Summer said and barely managed to step away from him before a red glyph appeared around his torso and dragged him to the side of the car and forced him into a sitting position before turning black. She turned to Moon, who lowered her hand and walked toward her. "He does have a point though, why did you do that?"

"I don't appreciate interruptions, especially from something as small as a bomb," Moon answered and stopped a few feet away from Summer, kicked Roman's hat away, and rested her chin on the back of her hand. "It's best to get those out of the way for what really matters. Namely, you, little Huntress."

"I'm flattered," Summer said, putting away Roman's scroll in her pouch before pulling York out of the floor.

"You should be, it's very rare for a human to peak my curiosity. To be able to face two of my sisters and come out of both times alive, how could I not get curious?"

"I'd rather you be dead," Summer said and pointed her sword at Moon, the flames coming off it slightly obscuring the General. Moon rolled her eyes and lowered her hand to cross her arms and shake her head.

"So you're one of those types. Ozpin certainly knows how to choose his pawns." Moon shrugged with a small smile before adding, "Well, as much as I like smearing Ozpin's name, we have far more important things to do. I need to see if you live up to the praise, or if my sister's have slipped over the years." She held a hand up in front of her and formed a red glyph just above her palm. A sword handle appeared from the glyph, which Moon pulled on to form a black rapier that she swung to the side.

"The only way to tell that is you see first hand. As such, I'd like to challenge you to a duel," she said while pointing her sword at Summer, "do you accept?"

"Like you'd give me a choice," Summer replied and switched Soleil back into a dagger and took a fighting stance.

"Not like that," Moon lowered her sword and put her free hand on her chest, "if we're going to duel then it needs to be fair and honorable. Blades sing far louder than guns or Dust, wouldn't you agree?"

"Honor from a Grimm? Now that's a laugh," Summer said as she tightened her grip on her weapons.

"Believe what you will, I like to think I have more honor than someone like him," Moon gestured at Roman with her sword and put her hand on her hip. "All the same I'm happy to wait. You won't be able to get past me without a fight, and I doubt you have the time to wait either." Summer scowled Moon, who simply stared back with a knowing smile, and dropped it as she straightened up to sheathe Soleil and shut off York's flames with a quick swing.

"Fine, I'll play along for now," Summer said and pointed her sword at Moon, "and I can just cheat later if I need to." Moon chuckled a little and returned the gesture.

"A good philosophy. I'm starting to like you Huntress." She looked thoughtful for a moment before asking, "Actually, would you honor me with your name? 'Huntress' doesn't have quite the right ring to it."

"Why would you care?"

"Why would anyone care about anything? Call it simple curiosity if you must." Summer glared at Moon for a moment before letting out a small sigh.

"Summer Rose. Hold onto it, because it'll be the last thing you remember."

"Really?" Moon asked with a quirk of an eyebrow, "A warrior's name. This will be interesting."

'I fail to see how,' Summer thought as she and Moon lowered into their respective fighting stances. Summer held York in front of her with both hands grasped around the hilt while Moon moved her rapier near her face, staring down along the blade at Summer. They held the stare for a moment until the train rocked and Moon shot forward.

Summer Blinked toward Moon at the same time, with a shower of sparks behind both of them being the only sign any contact had been made. Once she had landed, Summer barely had enough time to turn around and get her guard up when Moon slammed into her and pushed her back a few feet. Though her arms ached, she didn't falter and looked up at Moon grinning at her, and angled her sword so the rapier could slide past her. Summer let the force carry her into a spinning slash, which was stopped by Moon doing the same thing.

"Interesting style. Self-taught?"

"Not that you'd care!" Summer shouted and kicked at Moon's legs. She backflipped out of the way, knocking Summer's sword away in the process, and lunged at her again when they had settled. Summer jumped backwards and swung her sword upwards to parry the stab before circling it around to do the same to two follow up stabs. She saw an opening after the third stab and slashed at Moon's stomach.

Moon jumped over the slash and started spinning over Summer, almost ready to attack the girl from the air when she Blinked backwards. Moon's eyes widened, she saw where Summer ended up during her spin, and put her guard up. Summer thrust at Moon and did her best not to let out a groan when a red glyph appeared to stop the attack. Moon put her feet on the glyph and pushed off it to jump backwards through the car, landing and bouncing on her feet a few times before she got back into a ready stance. Summer saw a glyph hovering around Moon's free hand that pulsed red.

A wall of glyphs appeared behind Moon, a similar set appearing behind Summer when she looked behind to check. She looked back at the widely smirking Moon and let out a soft breath as she adjusted the grip of her sword in one hand. Moon's smirk widened as the glyphs finished forming and gave Summer a light nod before they both jumped back onto their respective glyphs and launched forward.

Their swords clashed as they passed each other, landed on another glyph, and jumped off again. The glyphs disappeared as they jumped from one and Summer realized she was slowing down with every jump, even if she managed to keep up with the attacks. Soon there were only two glyphs left and Summer had barely hit hers when Moon launched off with her rapier ready to strike. With her last bit of concentration, Summer jumped off, Blinked toward Moon, and swung her sword as she passed by. York missed the rapier and Summer felt a brief flash of pain as the rapier hit her side before her Aura flared. She hit the ground and tumbled to a still while Moon landed on her feet in the other direction.

Summer got up into a crouch while holding her side and looked back at Moon as held her hand up to her throat. She held it for a moment before pulling back to look at her blood covered hand and started laughing as she turned around to look at Summer.

"Good strike. On anyone else that strike would have ended the fight right there." Moon closed her eyes and clenched her fist tightly as the wound in her neck closed until there was only white skin showing through the cut collar. "It's a shame then that it didn't."

"I'm really starting to hate how hardy you fucks are," Summer said and looked down at her side, the pain dying down now and any wound that may have been there now healed.

"You're not the only one, I assure you," Moon replied and shook the blood off her hand. Summer noticed the blood disappear into smoke after a moment, though her focus was back on Moon soon enough when she pointed her rapier at her. "But if you're winded just from that little exercise, then this duel is all but over."

"Don't bet on it," Summer said and started to stand up when the door behind her opened. Moon gave a huff of annoyance as she raised a hand to make a glyph, which shattered a second later when a black and white ball slammed into it. The ball uncurled and Zwei landed next to Summer, fangs bared and growling as harshly as he could.

"Summer!" Summer looked back at Taiyang as he, Qrow, and Raven entered the car. "Whoa, shit!" he added as he skidded to a stop next to her and settled into a stance.

"Is that it?" Qrow asked as he stopped next to Summer, his eyes widened as he held Harbinger in front of him. "What? Why does it look—"

"Who cares?" Raven interrupted drawing her own sword and holding it up. "We can sort that stuff out when it's dead." Raven's eyes narrowed when Moon rolled her eyes before looking at Summer as she finished standing up.

"Guess our duel is over," she said drawing Soleil and aimed it at Moon as it switched into a pistol. "Too bad, huh?"

"I agree. I would dare say I was having fun for once," Moon said and stabbed her rapier into the floor. "It really is a shame to cut this short."

"Who says we are?"

"I am. I refuse to fight you all."

"That's not how this works!" Qrow shouted as Moon dragged her sword across the floor until it was in front of her and put her hands on top of the hilt. "We just went through hell to get here and we're not leaving until you're dead!"

"You've forgotten something important," Moon said and leaned forward until she was resting her chin on her hands. Her eyes bore into each of them one by one as she said, "My victory was not dependent on beating you."

"The hell are you talking—" Raven said only to stop when her meaning hit her like a splash of cold water. The rest of her team had the same realization judging from the varying degrees of horror on their faces. "Shit!"

"The train!" Summer shouted looking outside at the tunnel passing by them, "none of us got to the cab!"

"Of course you didn't," Moon said and smirked when they all returned to glaring at her. "You're just as predictable as your master is. The second me or my sisters poke our heads out, you rush us and forget the bigger picture. Case in point, your feet." Moon twisted her rapier and Summer looked down in time to see a trail of glyphs going along the floor towards her into a larger glyph. They all lit up white and Zwei let out a yip as ice shot up from the glyph to encase their feet in ice.

"Ah hell!" Taiyang shouted as the ice encased Zwei and shot up to his knees.

"Every goddamn time!" Raven shouted as the ice shot up to her chest.

"You…" Summer said glaring at Moon as the ice completely encased her and her team. Moon's smirk widened and pulled her sword out of the floor. She gave Roman a look before walking away to a door and opened it. With the rushing wind blowing her hair around she looked back at the ice chunk and gave a humorless laugh.

"Maybe I was wrong. Still, you were impressive enough Summer Rose. You and your team can live today. For however long that is."

Whether Summer heard or not, Moon jumped out of the train onto the opposite rails. She braced her legs as she landed and created a gouge in the rails until she came to a stop. The train continued to shoot past her as she sheathed the rapier and turned to start walking back to Mountain Glenn. A small pack of Beowolves and a King Taijitu shot past her, causing her to stop and look back at the train. After a quick moment to think, she sighed and walked over to the wall of the tunnel to lean her back against it.

'I better wait and see how this goes,' she thought as she crossed her arms and closed her eyes, 'just in case.'

Further down the tunnel, there was a loud crash.
