There's so many paths I could take for Kenny crying over his bud and seems it was half ass whether I edit it or not. I'm super conflicted to do a second chapter but eyes never lie
Best I can picture at the moment for a follow up. Now I'm debating going by battle suit and will only use that for when Kaneki fights putting him in his alternate attire most of the time.
Ken sat up in deep thought, weighing the options he was presented.
"There can only be one redo to your life so you can be with your friend. The original me went about it the wrong way thinking she was in the right putting us in this position which is good and bad at the same time." says Yuno.
Ken's head hurt over the fact he could continue down the same path unlike his supposed mother and father though the result would go either way depending on his pained actions. The other scenario let him have his brother at heart back but how different would life be around him. He winced at the idea of Hide hating his ghoul form despite everything they did together.
Yuki and Yuno smiled saddened smiles watching Ken's expressions while Murmur was grumbling, likely wanting him to choose quickly.
"Can't there be a middle ground?" wonders Ken setting his sights on the duo.
"Like what?" wonders Yuki.
"You guys being my new family when Hide comes into sight? With you around, it would be easier to talk to him even if just for a little while. Even if he hates me, I'd have you guys to back me up." says Ken tearing up.
"Your 'earthbound' ghoul son seems to be to emotional to think logically." says Murmur Irritated.
"He does have a point though. Imagine him as the old me, a grieving heart unable to bring the dead back to life, only a soulless body to cradle and feeling like the only gateway is to a happier scenario of the earth that was forced to be destroyed." says Yuno glaring dangerously at Murmur.
"But the original you turned out psychotic with a urge to kill anyone who wasn't Yuki. What are the odds the observer won't be the same way?" says Murmur crossing his arms.
"His name is Kenny you little pain." says Yuno frowning bitterly.
"I don't care about names of those I have to search for. I can tell that you two, being my superiors to a nonexistent throne who never bothered to renew this gloomy sight of a godly world..." grumbles Murmur.
"I finally created a new world that you begged me to death to do so cut me some slack." says Yuki looking at Murmur.
"You think Hide in any form would hate you for how the events of the first cycle went? You should know your friend better than that. He'll be like Yuki was when he tried to console original me's heart." says Yuno putting on a smile for Ken.
"Still trying to forget the fact her suicide lead to my demise. No amount of godly power brings happiness without the one your heart longs for." says Yuki frowning at Yuno.
"Can I still be Ken despite living a new life while in hiding? I could care less about everyone else if I can't live in a world without Hide." says Ken.
"No promises. But on the flip side, you won't have to depend on your ghoulish killing sprees. Only person you will remember will be Hide but he won't remember you. He mostly knew you as a human so you'll have to make amends through becoming his friend again." says Yuno.
"That's alot to take in." says Ken gloomily looking down.
"Your actions in the new version of the world will result in the future you bring about." says Yuki.
"A ghoul who shows he doesn't like killing can only get so far." says Yuno remembering how Yuki used to be.
"I wouldn't care what went on as long as I can see Hide's glowing smile." says Ken.
"No take backs after you finalize your decision." says Murmur.
"Just take me to Hide already with us three as a family." says Ken desperately.
"Emotions will only get in the way." says Murmur.
"Deal. The Amano-Gasai couple will live alongside you as regular humans." says Yuki.
"You can't just leave as you please." says Murmur stunned.
"You can handle things here. I'm not letting you interfere with his lifestyle like you did mine." says Yuki sternly.
"If there are questions, you can say we are distant relatives who just found out you were a ghoul." says Yuno grinning wildly.
"Yeah...sure. Just make sure you appear older so we aren't mistaken as siblings." says Ken awkwardly looking from Yuki to Yuno.
"I'm long overdue for a haircut anyway." says Yuki grumbling.
"You don't look that bad." says Yuno combing Yukis hair with her fingers.
"Say that to me when you grow out your hair from deep depression." says Yuki not really caring.
"You look good with long hair though. You won't look like your earth self but you'd always look handsome to me." says Yuno.
Ken sweat dropped watching Yuno and Yuki mingle over if haircuts would be the best choice to blend in. They really were as inseparable as he and Hide were even with setbacks that could ruin their bond. He held back laughter watching Yuno tease Yuki who was blushing madly.
Murmur cleared his throat causing Yuno to let go of Yuki and drag him over to the orb.
"Lets get to it then. This'll be our first attempt at recreating a world from a cycle we are to stay put in." says Yuno.
Yuki was to flustered to pay attention to the chuckling Ken was doing, keeping his gaze on the orb while hiding his face.
"I'm just relieved that we can have another version of Aru as our family even if its sketchy. Akise was always fond of me despite my love for Yuno. So this much I can do for Deus' overseer of earth." thinks Yuki lost in thought.
Renewed cycle 2 world take 2;Tokyo Ghoul earth...
In the new reality, a 27 year old Amon dawned in a dark gray suit and teal tie was walking alongside a very persistent 20 year old Hideyoshi who was dawned in his mistaken for pizza delivery boy attire. Amon finally got to have a day off and of all people to rush up to him was the dead Ken Kaneki's friend who kept bugging him to look into the case again.
"Your best friend Ken Kaneki was torn apart by the purple haired ghoul Rize and both were killed in a construction malfunction. The chances of him being alive are slim to none. Now stop pestering me to look deeper into a case that ended." says Amon grumbling.
"How can it end when you guys could only find the ghoul's body? A dead body can't miraculously stand up and walk away. It'd be pretty messed up." says Hide annoyed.
"Let's say he comes into our sights. Ghosts don't exist and will never exist." says Amon.
"There's a chance he has amnesia." says Hide moving in front of the CCG worker.
"Amnesia would make sense except for the fact you are telling yourself it so you'd feel better about the situation." says Amon.
"Someone had to of found him and is now caring for him!" says Hide.
"The odds of that are slim to none with how things came about." says Amon keeping a frown on his face.
"At least amuse me! It's not fun being haunted with the fact I urged him to take the girl out on a date. Never realizing she was a ghoul until the news was spread." says Hide.
Amon huffed and pushed Hide out of the way before heading toward the cafe that lead to Ken's death.
"Listen to me!" says Hide angrily.
"If it makes you feel better, we'll talk over coffee at Anteiku." says Amon.
"Thank god there are CCG workers with soft hearts." says Hide.
"Don't put me down as soft hearted kid. I just do my duty with mixed feelings depending on the actions the ghouls take." says Amon waving it off.
"That's what you say." says Hide walking beside Amon.
"Since you wanna be amused so badly, we can talk about whether or not you'd enjoy having your buddy as a ghoul." says Amon.
3 hours passed at the cafe and Amon was listening to everything Hide was telling him. He watched all the emotions on the boy's face while taking everything in.
"Do you honestly not care for appearances?" wonders Amon staring intensely at Hide.
"Actions speak louder than anything else. Watching you guys take on ghouls day in and day out makes me infuriated with how you go about it. I'm stuck at your work place as a paper boy unsure if what the CCG do is really the righteous way to terminate ghouls. If we got to know some then we can see things from a whole new perspective." says Hide clenching his fist.
"Think what you want but no-one can trust ghouls no matter the reason." says Amon.
"Alright, we'll ask the first family that walks through the door." says Hide pointing at the door.
"And who would enjoy hearing banter over a lost friend?" wonders Amon raising an eyebrow.
"I don't really know." says Hide setting his arms to his sides.
As if on que, the door opened with a human couple looking to be in their 30's walking into the cafe with a certain half ghoul following them inside. Amon and Hide were the first to spot the mysterious albino teen with interesting eyes. What was more complexing was the sight of the adults showing no resemblance to the boy. The man in question was ushering the boy and what appeared to be his wife to the table closest to Amon and Hide. Hide waved the trio over to them but the estranged teen awkwardly sat between the man and woman.
"That's a ghoul with them but how? Why?" wonders Amon.
"Walk up to them and ask why they are harboring a ghoul mister suspicious." says Hide watching the boy's movements.
The boy was acting a lot like Ken but then again, ghouls have to be weary of CCG workers.
The white haired boy, looking 19, clad in a black top with black shorts over his battle suit from the Anteiku raid was staring at the table with trembling arms as if something was bugging him. The man, looking to be 33 may as well have been a double of Akai Shuichi from detective Conan(long haired version) aside from his kind blue eyes and spiking hair going up his neck despite the straight part going down to his waist and wearing a beige beanie on his head, a plain black turtleneck top covered with a light brown over shirt and tan pants was talking to the woman who looked about the same age maybe a bit older about living at the apartment Ken Kaneki used to live in. The 35 year old woman had light pink hair pulled up into a high ponytail with some hair covering her ears and dark pink eyes to match was wearing the same top as the man except it was sleeveless and white capris probably to match the boy's alternate attire he would have to eventually wear around the house, his black turtleneck top that was wide enough to covered his mouth somewhat shown mouth and seemingly ripped in half to look like shorts white pants. He was one to never wear shoes with that attire.(were they ripped?) He preferred that one to his battle suit that he had to cover the open back part of the jumpsuit with another attire.
"Why do they wanna stay at the home of a dead teen's?" wonders Hide.
"Probably because no-one would be foolish enough to rent an apartment or house of someone presumed dead." says Amon.
"Hmmmmm...never thought tourists would wanna live in a ghoul infested place like this." says Hide.
"There's a first for everything." says Amon huffing unamused.
"I know where the house is so you'll hear from me if the ghoul is trustworthy." says Hide.
"And if he ends up being the missing body?" wonders Amon.
"There'd be no way in hell I'd turn him in. Besides, I can play dumb when they let me in." says Hide frowning at Amon.
"You do that. There must be a reason for humans to treat a ghoul like normal." says Amon standing up to leave.
"Well, you're no fun." grumbles Hide setting his chin on his hand with his elbow on the table.
Watching the table, Hide noticed the soft murmurs coming out of the boy's mouth as the teen looked at him at times. Something seemed off yet familiar about the teen ghoul but Hide didn't want to startle the odd trio. Maybe it was just him but the boy in question acted like he didn't belong inside the coffee shop. What happened to make a ghoul weary of a coffee shop? As much as he wanted to ask, he felt it would be to soon.
Once the trio got to Kaneki's house, Ken was staring at the ceiling in his bedroom with a longing look on his face.
"Are you part of the CCG in this reality? What memories did they give you? Would it be wise to chat at the cafe with you alone?" thinks Ken.
Downstairs, the seemingly 33 and 35 year old(Yukiteru:14 and Yuno:16 adding onto Kaneki's age before RE) Yukiteru and Yuno were peacefully watching tv without any concerns toward the ghoul to human ratio around them. It was hard to concentrate on what was on the television when Yuki kept glancing at the steps going up to the bedrooms seeing no sign of Ken wanting to spend time with them.
"Amazed Ken hasn't called down for coffee yet. You'd think he'd be at us about what to expect from the lively Hide boy by now. Its too quiet to tell what he's up too." says Yuki getting anxious.
"If you're getting anxious about Kenny not coming down, that just means Ken is racking his mind about how to talk to Hide without freaking him out. I remember you wanted to say so much after our everlasting hug but everything bottled up came out all at once forcing me to shush you." says Yuno.
"The rush of excitement overcame me. I haven't seen you in what felt like eons." says Yuki nervously chuckling.
"Asking around for human meat could get risky but he acts more like a kid who doesn't need to eat." says Yuno getting up.
"Not like people welcome ghouls and freely hand out meat to the demons." says Yuki feeling bummed.
"Rewinding time would've been the better choice but rearranging memories having to do with Kenny might help him come out of his shell. To everyone in Japan, Ken Kaneki died so only the ones who really knew Kenny would think it peculiar." says Yuno shrugging before heading into the kitchen.
"In other words, the cafe staff is a maybe but Hide would immediately think its strange his friend suddenly has white hair in the place of black hair. Let alone, the fact Ken is alive and well when everyone thinks he's dead. Given the fact we put Hide back in the CCG like the original version is like saying he's living a different perspective of his time with the ghoul killers." says Yuki.
