Juuzou's forever attire and Hide's work attire are ideas off Amazon. Going by altered anime style.

Its been almost a month of playing cat and mouse between the new Kaneki and the hopeful yet disheveled Hide. The Kaneki that practically appeared out of nowhere was to distant to want to talk things over. Who was he to judge the antisocial half ghoul?

Hide was being uncharacteristically gloomy at the job that would've cleared things up in his heart if he gave it more time. Everyone noticed the sudden change in Hide's attitude as he strolled around the headquarters but no-one wanted to ask the college student what was plaguing his mind. Though a certain few ghoul hunters felt concerned for the new recruit, mostly being Amon with how Hide acted around him. Koutaru Amon was standing next to the 19 year old white haired Juuzou Suzuya, with a similar personality to Crona from soul eater, who was badgering the 37 year old Yukinori Shinohara about dying his hair to the left of Hide as he passed them by. At the other end of the hall was the Levi of Tokyo ghoul, Kuki Urie with his fellow quinx in training, Saika Yonebayashi, Tooru Mutsuki and Ginshi Shirazu(all 3 years younger than Juuzou and Kenny) who were still new to the world of becoming part ghoul. To the right was 22 year old Akira Mado who was enjoying Seidou Takizawa's(also 22) company as they chatted about how amazing everyone was doing against the ghouls which lead to talking about Amon and how great a fighter he was. Akira's admiration for Amon made Takizawa jealous despite bearing with it with a smile.

"Hide, can we have a word?" wonders Amon calling to Hide.

"What do you need the lackey for Amon?" wonders Shinohara looking from Amon to Hide.

"Hide and I saw a white haired teen around Hide's age but it was hard to tell why the ghoul was acting the way it was. Two humans were with it and the ghoul looked panicked for a new arrival." says Amon.

"And you failed to tell CCG?" wonders Shinohara frowning.

"Hide told me he'd check the newcomers out and I agreed to it without making sure there was backup." says Amon.

"There's another white haired boy roaming the city and you didn't let me in on it? That's cruel Amon!" says Juuzou unamused wearing a white casual sports polo shirt with pocket contrast color that had a black neckline the dipped down to look like a V, a bit of black on the bottom of the short sleeves and a black strip on the pocket with a black rogue interchangeable hood, infinite and youth donut judge me pocketed open bottom sweatpants and red pepper clog crocs.

"To be fair, the day after, Hide came into work with a smile like usual but the smile was masking his true feelings. When he came across me to help with the papers that were knocked to the floor, I asked him for an update on the new family residing at the dead teen's house. As a response, I got a slowly forming frown and a murmur of the ghoul being paranoid by both humans and ghouls and how they went about things he couldn't grasp. Hell, I couldn't understand what Hide was telling me with how untrustworthy ghouls were. It was like his personality had shifted from an outgoing super happy ray of sunshine that highlighted a sunflower to a demeanor that was quiet and kept to himself as if he was focusing on what conclusion to perceive for it." says Amon growing concerned.

"All he did was bring up his best friend whenever he spotted one of us. Maybe he's coming to terms with the fact that the Kaneki kid will never come back. No human has ever become a ghoul. Its simply to perplexing to think such a thing is possible." says Shinohara.

"He did wonder if Kaneki had amnesia or rambled about if his best bud somehow became a ghoul since there was no body found." says Amon.

"So many factors come into play but there's only one reality." says Shinohara watching Hide push passed the quinx.

"Yeah, a reality you have to accept." says Amon.

"Hey! What is the boy's name? If you say the boy is a ghoul, that makes me one too!" says Juuzou.

"You arent though." says Shinohara looking at Juuzou.

"Then that means the boy isnt until proven otherwise. If he has kakuju tentacle thingies that means he's either a quinx or a ghoul. There's no real answer." says Juuzou.

"But we only create quinx to keep ghouls from eating humans. If he isn't registered as a quinx that leaves a flesh eating ghoul." says Shinohara.

"You also cant rule out half ghouls which seems rare these days." says Juuzou tilting his head in thought.

"Half ghouls? Where do you get these ideas?" wonders Shinohara.

"Aren't we supposed to look at all possibilities? We cant just kill without backchecking the ghouls for any murderous rampages." says Juuzou.

"Now you're thinking to much into our situation." says Shinohara.

"There would be nothing in our system about a half ghoul sighting. Half ghouls are born from a human and ghoul relationship. It's to disturbing to think about." says Amon.

"So the insane kid on the squad must sound like he meaning me needs to be in an insane asylum out of curiosity?" wonders Juuzou.

"Juuzou you're not suggesting..." says Shinohara.

"Ghouls couldve taken that Ken kid's body and morphed him into a ghoul right under our noses." says Juuzou smiling sinisterly.

"Crazy kids should keep their mouths shut. You sound like you wanna be buddies with the ghoul." says Amon.

"Would it be wise for us to let you and Hide befriend an unknown ghoul after all we went through?" wonders Shinohara.

"Yes, no. Ghouls got me this way and I'll gladly slice him if he attempts anything. Only the white haired ghoul's spoken words linger in Hide's mind. He did beg for Amon to look into it again and if he isnt moping about the loss of a friend, there's something else plaguing his mind and keeping him from being his usual self." says Juuzou nodding to himself.

Amon and Shinohara werent sure how to reply staring dumbfounded at the revelation Juuzou had.

"Only Hide has the answers and he's not saying a word." says Juuzou worriedly.

Juuzou took off after Hide who wasnt seeing the perfect solution right in front of him. Or rather was staring at him as he searched for a quiet spot to think things through. Hide was practically knocked to the floor by a eager Juuzou who landed on him.

"What the he...crazy kid?! Why are you toppling me over all of a sudden?" wonders Hide looking behind him.

"I wanna check out your ghoul buddy." says Juuzou smiling.

"He kinda hates people being around him right now. No matter what I did after we met, he either ignored for books or acted like he was forbidden to be around me. He's really bitter and wants to keep out of sight of everyone aside from the adults that took him in. I was hoping to get him new clothes but what can you get a introvert ghoul that's black? He only prefers wearing black and white which doesnt give much options in the shirt and pants departments." says Hide sighing.

"If its shopping you wanna do then I'm the only person whod think like a ghoul when giving a second opinion." says Juuzou.

"Do you need clothes too?" wonders Hide.

"Depends on what there is. Maybe there are clothes that will make us look like twins." says Juuzou.

"You do you kid as long as we get the ghoul to open up to us. Now get off me so I can get back to my thoughts." says Hide.

"Oh right." says Juuzou jumping to the side of Hide.

"You'd make great friends with the woman the ghoul lives with. That's if you dont kill eachother first." says Hide standing up.

"Can I come with you to meet the other white haired boy? I think he should have more friends and a human who once lived with ghouls would be perfect right? Right?" wonders Juuzou smiling wildly.

"Maybe that could work. If the ghoul is seen as Batman from the American DC comics, the hero of the night who watches everyone from afar..." says Hide.

"Yeah?" wonders Juuzou nodding.

"What character from the hero comics would best fit you? Joker is as bonkers as you are but if you wanna be the ghouls partner in justice your more likely a Robin who's gone crazy after so many crime scene sightings." says Hide pondering as he stared at the crazed kid.

"A partner of justice who's gone crazy from many battles sounds exciting!" says Juuzou starry eyed.

"But I don't think there ever was such a Robin. You're more like a grim reaper that justifies ghouls without another thought. Ghouls see a sinister smile that sends shivers before they lie on the ground dead." says Hide.

"Batman's sidekick turned into the reaper to kill all who needs repenting? SOUNDS AWESOME! Would make for a great comic!" says Juuzou excitedly.

"We'll see what we can find once my shift ends you weirdo." says Hide smiling before walking away.

"Sweet!" says Juuzou running back to Amon and Shinohara.

Once Hide's shift was over, Juuzou practically dragged him out of the building. Hide's work attire consisted of a white and red cotton ringer t-shirt, taupe classic-fit wrinkle resistant Chino pants, a white and red trucker cap and black lightweight work safety industrial construction sneakers.

"Where's the house? I'd protect him from danger! I promise!" says Juuzou.

"There's nothing to protect him from in a mall. Knowing his current situation, finding a food court would lead to the ghoul experimenting with how much food we could eat. We are the only ones who could get anything there so who knows if ghouls like him prefer more meat on a human's bones." says Hide.

"He'd have to have one messed up mind to force food down your throat without a care." says Juuzou chuckling creepily.

"Says you. You'd follow his lead and screw me over." says Hide crossing his arms.

"Don't couples like to have one feed the other? You and the white haired kid would have to be lovers for the ghoul to pamper a guy like you. Awkwardness makes you do weird things without thinking too. Even say things you don't mean and regret it the rest of the day into the next day." says Juuzou smiling amused.

"Sorry I ever brought it up." says Hide slightly embarrassed.

"Messed up minds think alike anyway. We better get going. Once we get the boy, we are better off getting the clothes before my hair gets dyed." says Juuzou grabbing his arm.

"I dunno about dying your hair. Clothes were top priority to me. Being reserved the way he is, doesn't really give him the courage to gain much needed friends. Being friends with him in another life is one thing. Getting to know someone who you feel like you already know is another. He can trust no-one allies or enemies." says Hide looking at the sky.

"We going or not? The kid can't stay indoors forever!" says Juuzou poking Hide's arm annoyed.

"Alright. Alright. But its only you two who get new clothes. Bright colors are more my thing and you two need dark colors to feel like yourself. White being the exception if you feel its needed." says Hide walking away from the building.

"You've just never heard of a 19 year old who prefers torture as excitement even though its demented in most ways. Having weapons on me makes me relaxed since you never know when there'll be an attack. You should be happy to see me as a substitute brother at heart taking Kaneki's place. No-one could ever replace the teen though." says Juuzou frowning.

"If you keep standing there, I'll leave you behind!" says Hide slowly getting out of sight.

"Do you want a knife to the face as revenge from me!? I'll do it if tempted!" says Juuzou running after Hide.

"You can't be a substitute of Kaneki because he's as safe as safe can get him with the way he is now compared to when he was in school with me." says Hide.

"The hell's that mean? I was just assuming he'd been turned into a quinx or the demons took his body away to turn him into one of them to spite him. That can't be true though. If I'm insane in the head for living amongst ghouls for fights then you can only imagine the trauma his body went through if he found his way back to you." says Juuzou.

"I dunno what to believe when Kaneki strays away whenever I come up to him. Meeting him again should've brought excitement and happiness. All I got was a depressed reserved Kaneki in the place of shy and awkward like how I remember him being. He did hint at the awkwardness in the air but his words were that of someone who doesn't belong anywhere and wants to keep out of sight." says Hide.

"He really did get turned into one of those demons!? But you can't put demon organs in a dead body! There must be an explanation! He'd be better off a quinx so he'd fit in at headquarters!" says Juuzou ending up beside Hide.

"Its super rare for a human to have white hair. Aside from you and Arima, that only leaves one other. He can't leave the house otherwise the workers who scour the city will be after him. House arresting himself for the better good without seeing the outside world feels wrong. You can't ignore me forever Kaneki. I won't let you. And now there's someone who will keep you on your toes more than me." says Hide looking at Juuzou.

Juuzou stared with his mouth slightly open knowing the workers wouldn't feel the same around Kaneki like they would. Its a nice thought while it lasts with only Hide and himself as friends and everyone else giving dirty looks. Regardless, Kaneki would beable to take out ghouls and keep whoever his friends end up being along the way safe. But that's only wishful thinking if an unknown ghoul strolls around a ghoul killer fortress like the new kid in school who could never see himself getting friends and alienates himself. Just like his human life but now no human would dare want him around.

"Freaky." thinks Juuzou picturing school life but it being the headquarters instead.

It took some time getting to Kaneki's place and before Hide could knock, Juuzou broke the door bursting into the living room. While Yuki and Yuno were out gathering information about ghouls, Ken immediately jerked his head to the sound of the unhinged door breaking apart and a creepy white haired boy staring at him with an even creepier smile.

"Knocking would've been the better choice. We don't want people thinking the CCG was here on warrant for the ghoul's arrest." says Hide walking up to the duo scratching his hair.

"Hide, why is the creepy ghoul killer with you? Of all people to end up visiting with...this kid was the one to come with you?" wonders Ken freaked out.

"The kid jumped at the chance of meeting you and I mean literally jumping onto me so I would accept his offer." says Hide pulling Juuzou off Ken.

"Oooh...yaaaaaaayyyyy..." says Ken weirded out.

"He's not gonna torture you unless you use your kagune tentacles against humans or us." says Hide.

"I'd rather act human than let the CCG drag me to a cell upon seeing you two training with me. One look at the insane human using weapons against me while shielding you and the experts will fight me to the death before locking me up and be treated harshly for my appearance." says Ken sitting up.

"That'll have to wait for another day. Today, we three get to go clothes shopping so you two can look normal despite your personalities. Maybe even me if I spot something." says Hide.

"Going out in public for humans with anxiety is just as bad as hesitantly awaiting the expert ghoul exterminator squadron to pierce me any second. Lucky me to have both species fears. One that gets looked over and the other that's a horrific reality." says Ken reverting his eyes.

"Keep thinking you need isolation after meeting up again and we will never get to hang out. I dunno how the quinx would feel about you but you got us and your estranged foster parents to shield you from the ghoul killers who don't see you for you." says Hide.

"You'd be showing me all kinds of clothes if you didn't act like a sour puss infront the guy who wants to comfort a friend in need." says Juuzou pouting.

"Your new parents suggested that you'd be perfect for the role as Batman and I can't see for myself if you laze around the house." says Hide reaching for his cell phone to look at old pictures of him and his black haired Kaneki.

"And I'd be an evil looking Robin, the sidekick to the savior of the night who looks down on the city dwellers to watch their every move in the peace of the starry night." says Juuzou happily looking at Ken.

"Black and white would look best on you like it would me. Flashy colors are Hide's thing." says Ken.

"Hide, what heroes wear black besides Batman?" wonders Juuzou looking at Hide curiously.

"No idea. I only recognize the heroes from justice league. And there's no telling who you and I would be if Kaneki is the dark knight." says Hide pondering.

"What does grown up Robin look like? Is he secretly a villain masquerading as a hero?" wonders Juuzou.

"I'm at a loss for Dc and marvel logics." says Hide shrugging.

"Then what kinds of heroes make everyone's days bright just from seeing a smile like yours whenever around people?" wonders Juuzou pressing his face against Hide's forcing him to drop his cell.

"Good question. There's so many heroes now, I wouldn't be able to know who best fits me." says Hide sweat dropping.

"That's a tough one. In Hide's case, could be anyone from Flash and Thor to manga heroes. Theres to many to count." says Ken picking up the cellphone.

Ken instantly noticed the selfie of Hide making a peace sign at the camera with the other arm around his black haired half's(would it be wise to call it that?) neck as his human form looked away embarrassed as they get their picture taken. Ken looked at the duo bickering at each other before looking back at the cellphone to search the web for Batman and the hero of the night was either clad in gray and blue or all black. Scrolling endlessly didnt help much so he put the words 'Dark Knight' next to Batman and alot of realistic batman pictures appeared. He sighed putting 'comic' after dark knight and found a suitable picture to click on. It was a comic cover to a Batman Dark Knight comic series of Batman kneeling on the roof of a building with his cape swaying in the wind.

"I see what ya mean Hide. But I can do without the mask and cape." mumbles Ken saving the picture to Hide's photos.

Ken glanced back at Hide and Juuzou chuckling to himself at how peeved Juuzou was at Hide for not knowing who Robin turned into as he got older. Ken's amusement died when he looked back at the cellphone and looked up who Robin from Batman was and read 'Dick Grayson'. Scrolling through a wiki on the guy in question, he found out he eventually went by a different hero name.

"Nightwing? He transformed from a bird to a bat from Batman's influencing? Most likely." mumbles Ken having stopped caring about the bickering in the background.

Ken internally shook his head shrugging looking up what Nightwing would look like. It was hard to say if the nightly hero would look awesome or not. To his surprise there was a black and red version and a black and blue version. Which attire would be the best looking on a crazy kid who got in people's faces? He settled on what he assumed was a comic picture of the Black and Blue cladded Nightwing skydiving assumingly off a skyscraper with binders under his arm. He smiled a brief smile saving the picture to Hide's photos.

Ken stood up and walked up to the duo to pry them from eachother so he could hand Hide his cell.

"I added the Batman and what Robin became as an adult to your photos." says Ken.

"When did you nab my cellphone?" wonders Hide taking his cellphone.

"Between talk of heroes and whatever insanity overload kid is griping about. Wasnt paying attention enough while entertaining myself." says Ken looking at the cellphone.

"How long were you looking through my photos?" wonders Hide annoyed.

"If I wanted to look at photos they'd be of me as a human. Are you harboring any photos of human me while we were hanging out in school or at eachother's houses? Was I to gullible to notice?" says Ken reaching for the phone.

"That's my business." says Hide.

"Yet its me you take a pic of without my knowledge." says Ken.

"Are you suggesting Hide has a thing for...the more you know." says Juuzou snickering.

"I just want to check your photos. Your secret is safe with us." say Ken motioning for the phone.

"We're all a bunch of weirdos." says Juuzou laughing amused.
