HEH!? I found facts on Hide searching manga interpretation back in April...so much for OC/imaginary friend/real world view vision... would've been better suited for chapters 10 and 15:
10 Things Everyone Completely Missed About Hide In Tokyo Ghoul cbr site
'°~° Judging by what the facts are, I'm pretty sure I nailed it to a tee more or less although I was thinking a completely different concept than what this claims. "°~°
My mind keeps oofing now...in other words, he's neither real world view nor anime efficient greeeeaaaaat
Couldn't stop reading the facts...they make perfect sense yet are odd just the same. •_• That means Sousuke is the real dad vision the manga presented him if it is true that his actual parents were CCG members. A child of CCG members taking to ghouls...ironic
"Seriously though, I am the coffee maker and server here. I wouldn't be able to secretly make food before someone comes down." says Ken pointing at the stairs.
"We talked all that time and still no-one." says Ginshi.
"Touka would be suspicious though." says Ken.
"What does a fellow worker have to do with us?" wonders Saiko.
"So much yet so little." huffs Ken setting his arm down.
The trio hears footsteps upstairs making Ken feel even more uneasy.
"Please don't be Touka. She screams first, feels relaxed later if no-one speaks ill of my appearance." mumbles Ken shaky eyed.
"To jittery for your own good." sighs Saiko.
'That you Ken? You're not supposed to open up the shop! What are you doing at this hour!?'
"T...Touka..." thinks Ken shadow eyed.
'Say something! Anything! Your door is open.'
"Shit..." thinks Ken.
"No-one is gonna come in this early. Head back to bed." says Touka heading downstairs.
Touka took notice of two new faces with the half ghoul and tried to smile seeing him being social but the suspicious timing made her even angrier.
"Ken? Why are there two people here when the shop shouldn't be open?" wonders Touka clenching her fists.
"...long story." says Ken.
"TELL ME!" growls Touka.
"Bitchy ain't ya?" wonders Ginshi.
"I'M WAITING MUTE!" yells Touka.
"Eeeerrrrrrrmmmmm...I came downstairs to see if I missed anything when I spotted their eyes looking into my soul through the window. Scared the hell outta me at first but we're on good terms. Whatever that means." says Ken sweat dropping.
"I'm supposed to buy that crap?" wonders Touka.
"They've been searching for Hide and got curious about me." says Ken nervously.
"What ties do they have with Hide?" wonders Touka.
"We are work acquaintances of Hideyoshi and he's never seen at the CCG as of late." says Saiko looking at Touka.
"Know where Hide lives purplette or do you prefer bluette?" wonders Ginshi tilting his head at Touka.
"Havent seen Hide since the day this teen appeared. Hide always came here between work and college. I was never sure why he kept nosing around me. I thought he had a thing for me at first but the happy go lucky expression that made him look like he was flirting shifted to a deep frown rambling on about what he did wrong. He let Kaneki get wooed by the purple haired ghoul that always came for coffee like he knew it was supposed to be happening. Days, weeks, months, he was glued to me searching for reasons behind his disappearance that the news knew nothing about. He would act happy around the staff at his work but I'm sure a lot of you noticed the shift in mood Hide brought to the sleazy corporation. He was crushed to not see Kaneki on a daily basis for a whole year. Your staff needs a therapy room so he can vent to someone in said room. Having to be forced to work there is hard enough but its much worse when you don't have a clue where your only friend-best friend is. I didnt pay attention to the new family that came here until they left and Hide followed them to where Ken used to live. Seeing the white haired Kaneki with Hide and Hide brightening up at the idea of him being his lost best friend was to unbelievable to comprehend. It was like some magic voodoo or some shit." says Touka crossing her arms.
"So our lives are like a game!" says Ken.
"Are you dense? He could've had a sixth sense. I wouldn't know what to put Hide down as but he knows things before they even happen and feels fine if he sees you safe and sound but not if you leave his sight for a while making his excited goofy self go into depression mode which looked weird considering his usual self. As if he were Sherlock Holmes, he instantly knew he would be fine around the white head and tried getting me to understand which only made me even more furious. They must think they can't come here anymore so he's having your doppelganger cook for him in the mean time." says Touka annoyed.
"C...cook for him?" wonders Ken nervously.
"Ghouls can't eat regular food like humans so that will lead to a cluster of hells once Hide's work pals find them. I kept screeching it but doubt he listened. Who knows what Hide put in your double's head if the half ghoul hasn't started doing things the ghoul way to get a meal out of em. No version of you could harm him that way? You two are to self conscious and overthink things while rationalizing ways to go about things." says Touka sighing.
"Hide's reverting back to his school days mindset where I always made sure he was well fed despite the odd looks his dad gave us. I was a bad influence on him. Now that he is able to move out, he could do anything he sets his mind to and has my double feeding him nonstop." says Ken mouth twitching.
"Eating sweets does come with a depressed mind making you lose focus on the goals one sets. But to make it so other you looks like the villain is a dumbass move even for him." says Touka.
"Wouldn't put it passed him." mutters Ken.
"Dramas were never my forte either. Being sucked into them only leads you to awkwardly hear both sides and spat out the first thing to come to mind. This is why I live in my room at the corporate building." says Saiko.
"Seems taking to other me brings back benefits the other is trying to come to terms with. He's not used to a heavyset Hide like I was. Spying another Kaneki thats like me in every way doesnt mean they should agree on the same views. Hide...you moronic sunshine. Never letting things get to you unless it involves-involved the me you cant hang around anymore due to stupid morals I clung too. A wonderful dream turned nightmare is how the humans see it. Super..." says Ken reverting his eyes nervously laughing.
"This I have to see for myself. A fattened Hide with an awkward friend that looks away when in public." chuckles Ginshi.
Touka and Ken shot Ginshi a death glare making him suddenly go mute.
"He's dug his own grave and doesnt care one bit." say Touka and Ken.
"Still gotta see it with my own eyes." says Ginshi intrigued.
"You do you shark boy and emotionless girl." says Touka waving the duo off.
"I'm not emotionless waitress." says Saiko.
"You act like it." says Touka.
"I should say curiosity killed the cat but which view to the humans will be killed in the end? White haired Ken for fattening an innocent college student or the keep out of sight for years on end tiptoeing around a coffee shop Ken? Gambling all options away makes people lose sight of what's truly going on." says Saiko.
"We got all the info we need. Though its not the variant we expected." says Ginshi getting up.
"Telling Amon what we found out would make things interesting." says Saiko.
"This is between us and Hide with his replacement Ken. Why didnt these thoughts come around that day he shoved his phone in my face urging me to smash it to pieces? Fine, we'll go by Hide's rules. We could pass off as a couple right?" wonders Touka glaring at Ken.
"HEH!? I...I...you...me...HEH!? Ghouls can't do romantic things like go out to eat, can they?" wonders Ken wide eyed.
"We're already working together." says Touka.
"And gain a love hate relationship with someone I know nothing about!?" wonders Ken.
"This sounds like a blast of a time." says Ginshi.
"We failed to get the location. Was a nice chat nonetheless." says Saiko.
Saiko and Ginshi left to search for Urie and Mutsuri they didnt know were preoccupied.
"Dining on suicides is really creepy during the night hours." says Ken hesitantly.
"Ghouls can't gain weight so there's no way I can get you to get fat. You'd have to aim for a school's worth of students to gain any form of fat and that's fucked up. We would be betraying the humans we grow close too." says Touka setting her hands on her hips.
"A mob of startled teachers and students upon seeing our true selves having the ghoul killers at the front to fend us off...anything better we could do that's ghoul related and not based around humans?" says Ken.
"You're the one who brought it up." says Touka unamused.
"You sprung this onto me. How are we supposed to go about this without looking suspicious? I can't act like you are Hide but you grew up around humans so thats a plus all on its own." says Ken staring at the coffees that were hardly touched.
"We ought to think up ways a mute book worm and a feisty female ghoul who tries hard to be human-since I'm still in school unlike you-can do stuff that doesnt get boring quickly. Being a ghoul high schooler surrounded by humans is hell but I get by. Doesnt help my female human friend keeps bringing me leftovers." says Touka irritable.
"I can vouch for that. Although in my case, Hide instinctively ate whatever I grabbed at during lunch. I'm not sure how lunch time goes for you but it sounds like my school years before meeting Hide. Oblivious humans that don't put 2 and 2 together." says Ken sweat dropping.
"I don't know how you managed to handle things around Hide." says Touka.
"I never could. Hide was the one human that kept me going even if my mind was in a dark place all that time. Calling him an angel is a stretch but he only had time for me ignoring those around him. Kids, preteens, teens about to be adults...only I was able to be his friend, shunning everyone else in the process. Making us stick out as weirdos-outcasts among the students but Hide didnt mind one bit." says Ken.
"Well, you could start off by picking me up from school." says Touka pondering.
"I have no idea where your high school is." says Ken.
"But that's what college boyfriends do." says Touka.
"I'm a college dropout." says Ken.
"Whatever." growls Touka.
"Dropping out as soon as college starts is suspicious to the humans but what do you expect me to do in public after almost being mutilated by Rize? Piercing eyes of the humans who thought I died with murmurs and whispers all around us. Wonder if everyone would freak out or be thrilled? I cant chance it." says Ken.
"Be nice to have some form of normal relationship." mutters Touka.
"What hobbies do you have in high school? Books must get boring over time for you unlike myself." says Ken.
"Hobbies?" wonders Touka.
"I took to books to imagine worlds I could be part of. What about you?" says Ken.
"Why should you care?" wonders Touka.
"So we have a better understanding the more we get acquainted with eachother." says Ken.
"I wouldn't know what best suits me. Like you, I've had my fair share of insecurities through low esteem which is why i'm always rash about things. I don't want people thinking I close myself off as much as I ought to. I want to live in a world where ghouls and humans go about their daily lives without harboring hatred and deeming ghouls monsters on the spot to kill off through pitiful ways of justice." says Touka reverting her eyes frowning.
"If that could happen I'd wouldn't have to fear being around humans. Other me would love to feel human again. If things were to turn out in such a way, having human friends wouldn't feel fake. Finding more people like Hide would feel like I had my own safe haven through a group of humans I can share anything with." says Ken.
"Did that sound weird? I just called a group of true friends you can turn to a safe haven in a world where there are no safe places to stay." thinks Ken wearily staring at Touka.
"The only safe haven we have is here with fellow ghouls who have the same desire as us. Hard to say with the humans but this generation may be against what the adults claim. Kids do take after parents so you have to be suspicious of everyone around you." says Touka.
"That's why I'm saying how would I be able to tell what humans are like Hide or not? Can ghouls tell fake friends from real ones? You'd probably know better than I would." says Ken.
