Oh my fucking...I lean on the app for chapter uploads
I'm not annoyed just prefer the old way where you can do the description and chapter at once
Rewriting Ch 50 will make it to long so trying to think out ways for the characters to appear without butchering it. Reading the descriptive paragraphs puts MatPat voice in my head especially the one where kakuja go by instinct when in search of a meal. Watching FNAF theories isn't wise at night
I'm treating Hide like MatPat good job brain
Week of Christmas and New Years day...
Day 2:December 27
It was the day after the Christmas party and everything was slowly going back to normal. There were 2 things Hide had to go over in his mind; first:He would have to make his own meals during the times Centipede appeared which bummed him out a bit, second:The student body and teachers will probably be weirded out by the semi black armored albino they thought was portrayed as a dragon when in reality it was buglike.
As things stood, Centipede was a tough ghoul to follow around the house. Only questions the armored bug young adult would say were 'Have any blood?', 'Why can't I leave to get a good meal?' and 'Blood looks good, doesn't it?'. To any normal average human, those quotes would instantly weird the person he was chatting with out. Who wouldn't be when staring blankly at the pointy helmet mask that barely covered the teeth? Hide for starters.
Here you have your typical goofy freakishly happy bubbly blonde who loves the idea of friendship to all he comes in contact with. But when did the love of ghouls actually stem from when being in school with human kids you'd see fearing monsters of all kinds. You rarely saw ghoul kids in the school buildings when growing up. So when Hide and Ken became friends, the only strange oddity was loner book worm gaining a friend to chat or hang out with. Yeah, there were frequent chats about ghouls between the boys during school hours but, lets face it, there wouldn't be anything juicy aside from ghouls or anything hobby related. Things were as they should be aside from minimal differences the classmates were at a loss for when the boys came into view.
Currently, with creepily timed questions like those, Hide wasn't fazed one bit after being around the first version of Ken. First question was when he came up to the blonde. Regardless of where, Hide was spotted with Centipede getting grumpier the more he pressed his face to Hide's. The second question was when Centipede dropped down next to Hide with a pouting frown feeling like he was housebound. That last one had to go with the first one. Those two questions felt back to back like they were meant to go one after the other. So, yeah, Hide wasn't fazed by the question going about whatever he was doing while Centipede followed him around repeating the phrase. Centipede must've been pissed at Hide for keeping him at the house at all times.
Under normal circumstances, Ken would be thrilled to be indoors and away from stares and rumors from citizens. Yet this was Centipede and kakuja did things differently than regular ghouls. Going about the streets without a care in the world as they did what instinctively felt right whether they trashed places or found humans to salivate over. Hide was keeping him home, meaning Centipede felt caged even though he could do what he wanted with the fattening human as long as no-one came to the door.
Side 1:Usual keep out of sight 24\7 rollercoaster mind Ken the public needed to get used to; Side 2:Armored Buggy Centipede that was more extrovert than introvert. Gotta question the circling 180 factor when getting to know albino as a whole. Normally an introvert who shuts everyone out turns extrovert in order to feast on the living walking buffet that was the human population.
What looks true from one angle wasn't true to everyone and Centipede made it hard to ponder how the blonde saw the kakuja.
Evening...
"Centipede, four days till the ball drop! What do you want your resolution to be?" wonders Hide cooking up spaghetti with a bunch of meatballs in sweet and tasty tomato sauce in one pan and spiral noodles being boiled.
Do ghouls have resolutions like humans? He is part human so becoming a real dark knight in a way that makes sense of Centipede acting villainous while protecting him would cause more problems than he could count. Bats aren't bugs yet this looked pretty weirdly timed for the next stage of villainous heroic actions. So much for letting the albino feel human again.
Suddenly Hide felt fingers in a crawling motion going across his stomach: one hand lifting the shirt while the other was feeling around the fleshy stomach.
"What are you doing? Feeling how flabby I am? Would you rather I was shirtless the rest of my gain? I can assume around the house only. Being mute 24\7 doesn't help your end in the slightest. You're going by action alone and that worries me for when we get company. I doubt anyone knows where I-we live. That violates privacy, doesn't it?" says Hide focusing on his meal.
As if on cue, there was a knock on the door forcing Hide to yank Centipede's arms away.
"I need you to hide in case it's one of the doves and that's not including Juuzou. Hard to say for the quinx group. Launch yourself at them and it won't be a comfortable night when explaining if they let us and that's a strong IF." says Hide.
The citizens on the other side of the door were from school; the club members Sankou, Cain and Kiyama, as well as some of Hide and Ken's classmates. Hide was so focused on hiding Centipede before finding a shirt that he never realized the knocking turned to pounding. By the time Hide opened the door, he was face to face with the cult club, the student that wanted to know about Ken through him, the two students that heard Ken's truth loud and clear and the few students that joked about a knight that neither looked villainous or appeared as a savior.
"Where's the dragon knight?" wonders the male that sat closest to Hide.
"He's not himself right now. Saying he's out of commission sounds like an insult due to what became of him." says Hide.
"If he's not sick then-"
"He has some black armor in gear but his mindset is a different story. His armored dark knight appearance isn't finished. That's if black knight is technically called a dark knight. Its his armor and it can't be taken off." says Hide staring at the student that questioned Ken's relationships.
"You encouraged the albino to have friends. Now we can't introduce ourselves properly to the two known freaks of the school?" wonders the student angrily.
"It's just that I'm in the middle of cooking myself dinner while keeping my eye on him. He's 100% clingy but he doesn't care that he disappears for some time. With him being silent, I don't know if he killed while out of my sight or not and he keeps rambling about blood and feeling cooped up. Its hard to read knighthood villainous hero Ken more than usual Ken." says Hide frowning.
"We came all this way for nothing." says Kiyama.
"Let us in fat ass. It's not like we're going to be bored." says the infuriated student.
"It's getting late. This isn't a sleepover like from when Ken and I were kids. There's not much space for nosy students." says Hide sweat dropping.
"Says the observer who watches everyone before jumping the gun to be in our faces." says the student.
"Club aside, there's not many females and males who would willingly search this house down." ponders Hide huffing.
"Can we see the knight or not?" wonder Hide's classmates.
"How about tomorrow or the next day?" wonders Hide looking behind him.
"Focus on your schoolmates or we will let ourselves in." says the student.
"Who knows what Centipede is doing now?" thinks Hide looking around.
"Hide!" say the students.
"Cain and Sankou must've lead everyone here by following my scent but that only explains the club members wanting to talk in person. What of our classmates? They only talked once to get information then saw Ken on full display. Shouldn't they be distancing themselves?" ponders Hide slowly turning his head to face everyone.
"Hello in there? Food, music and ghouls shouldn't be your only hobbies!" says the student.
"Disaster everywhere you turn. I understand the freak club but what of the rest? Shouldn't distancing be a thing? Its what Ken wanted all along while keeping his lone friend from the havoc of Tokyo. He needs more friends within each class or some but can we trust what you claim? Lying is known more than honesty between species." says Hide curiously.
"We're going inside." says the student pushing Hide aside.
"My house is a mess." says Hide hitting the wall.
"Excuses. Excuses." says the student.
"Next time I need to learn names and genders solely from observation alone. Hairstyles are tricky too." thinks Hide watching everyone pass him.
Living room...
The students who weren't part of the club were separated from the club members; the two students who talked to Ken being a female with long hair and male with shoulder length hair, the student that was as bitchy as Touka toward Ken's relationships looked female but could've been male(a male version of Touka would be interesting), the rest you could tell were male or female. The idea of being next to the club felt alien to the normies yet they couldn't leave after just entering.
"What is the armored Ken to you? An animal you can't let loose once off the leash? If he's bored being indoors, can't he stretch his legs by messing with the doves and attack humans? You know ghouls are wired to eat humans so its only possible that your mutt buddy isn't supposed to be free. There's gangs of ghouls yet one halfa that should never have existed. Born that way or being tested on for doves to kill off in seconds of being in range." wonders Cain.
"Cain." says Kiyama looking at Cain.
"He's our problem now too. So he doesn't need to hide away from those we brought here." says Cain.
"We're the ones who barged in despite it being a bad time. He's still getting used to him being more aggressive hunter than awkward screw you loner. Hide's his safe zone so us being here throws off keeping things hush hush." says Sankou.
"Must be super entertaining watching Ken crash into things with all that energy not being made to good use." says Cain sarcastically.
"It's his actions toward us once spotted. Will he attack or see us as friends?" says Kiyama.
"How will he present himself if he were to spot us during dinner? He has to crawl toward us at some point." mutters Cain.
"Don't you mean show his face before deciding friend or foe? Enemy of Hide or something like that?" wonders the male.
Cain shrugged with one arm.
'I can handle ghoul Ken just fine. Kakuja are a different thing though. You can call it what you want however you please and make me the bad guy for part timing at the CCG. Don't paint a image in your head without close observation. If you hate me or Ken for whatever reason, get out of my house. All ghouls should feel safe here not play the blame game.' says Hide.
"What ghoul would enjoy the company of a ghoul killer? You can easily die without Ken knowing." says Cain.
'Hey creepy snake fucker, if you're not interested and doing this for new club mates alone, my place isn't for negative bitterness.' says Hide looking at the group.
"You can't claim this home as a safe place for demons if you only had the half breed at all times." says Cain.
'Don't confuse this house for my house growing up. Black haired Ken got to stay at my childhood house, animalistic half breed albino Ken gets to currently stay here. Neither brothers nor boyfriends. Just two oddities searching for loopholes that don't appear as easily as we need them to be.' says Hide.
Once dinner was over, Hide left the plate on the table heading into the living room to sit between the norms and the freaks.
"Chat away." says Hide smiling.
"Sunny people would look eerie in a dreary world like this. Your radiance doesn't suit the darkness surrounding both species. A half breed is perfect for someone who stands out." says Cain.
"Anyone else wanna talk? Hippie? Girl that keeps quiet? Guys?" wonders Hide looking around.
An awkward silence filled the air.
"Ken will appear when he wants to." says Hide.
"What are we to you?" wonders Kiyama.
"Sorry, you look like you're living as a modern hippie leader. Happy go lucky me that loves horror or anything Halloween but headband screams hippie. The purple haired guy that triggered Ken, he's a snake faced Tsukiyama who wants to get his hands bloody by forcing situations? Getting people to swarm those you hate so they'd be out of the picture? The girl is hard to read. Intelligent silent emo? Silent types don't mesh with people well. No...not sure. We are alike in a way that brings people who enjoy scares together. I mean, who doesn't love Halloween? Blood is perfect for Halloween scenes and her being quiet makes for great scares. Only thing I add to the mix is my love of ghouls and demon manga. Abnormality you wouldn't expect. Ken...his view point is black and white horror movies of vampires, werewolves and Frankenstein monster so he checks out even if you only want me in." says Hide looking at the club members.
"We're here to talk befriending the aloof animalistic ghoul that you dragged to school not fucked up horror films." says the student angrily.
"I know. Ken has his own way of doing things so its hard warming up to people he's never known. That is until you bombarded me and Ken then snooped us out. At least I know Ken fits perfectly with the club. Can't trust the purple head though. How will normals be there for Ken; acting human or ghoul? We can't lean on the club forever." says Hide turning his head.
"Focus fat fuck." says Sankou.
"Free spirited love everything for what it is types are as rare as half ghouls. And I mean super rare. Hippie and I may be the only two in existence. Loyalty feels super rare too with people having to watch what they say." ponders Hide.
"The 'Be yourself' quote falls on deaf ears to both species when loyalty only succeeds human to human or ghoul to ghoul. Never human to ghoul or ghoul to human. If there was, there's no proof in relationships until Ken was, in his words, experimented on in a blink of an eye. What are the odds of Ken being born to a human-ghoul relationship and never know the parents?" says Kiyama.
"I don't want to talk about that." says Hide.
