It is a nice Day

Everything is so peaceful

It puts me at ease

Bruce gently wrote down as his eyes were focused solely on the ink that might scatter to the tanzaku (traditional Japanese paper )

A bead of sweat slowly fell unto his cheek which almost dropped unto the tanzaku, but he managed to wipe it off before so

The library was the place he would often go to clear his mind. With all the stress from his company and his duties as Batman, This is the place where he would find solace in

Suddenly, his stomach started rumbling, indicating that he was starving for something. And so he stood up and carried all his materials unto his small pouch

He made his way to the exit and nodded slowly to the librarian managing the front desk. There were tables and chairs outside indicated for chatting and eating, things one is prohibited to do inside the library

He took out a pack of sandwiches from his bag and munched them without hesitation. His hunger was getting the best of him that he didn't quite notice while being engrossed by the haikus

This is the habit that helps put his mind at ease, something that he can fully express his thoughts and ideas on. And no one actually knew he was into this, not even Alfred himself

And so he looked at his wristwatch and noticed it was 9 am in the early morning. He went for a short jog early at 6 am near a place where he would often jog to, which is his guilty pleasure

He didn't manage to see her today, and so he decided to just take his past time on the library where it was quiet and peaceful

Aside from the Manor, this is the place where he really would be most comfortable in

His extroverted persona is nothing but an act, when in fact, he is probably the biggest introvert in Gotham and he knew that for himself

He dislikes talking to people and feel uncomfortable talking to women whom he doesn't really feel anything with but it is his responsibility as Gotham's most eligible bachelor

He sighed to himself upon finishing his last sandwich as he stood up from his seat and went back to the library. It suddenly got lots of people for some reason, mostly young adults, but Bruce didn't really mind

As long as they don't make so much noise

And speaking of noise…

Beep

A sudden sound came out from Bruce's phone

He checked it out and saw Diana's face in the icon sticking her tongue out

D: Where are you? I'm bored.

Bruce groaned to himself knowing once she finds out where she is, he'll be done for. Diana can be the loudest and most distracting lady whenever she would be on shambles. Clearly she wouldn't fit on such a place like library

She could've just texted him earlier when he was jogging and maybe he could've invited her, but it's too hot now

And so he replied…

B: At the Manor.

Bruce heaved out a sigh of relief upon responding the message. He was about to put his phone in silent when suddenly another beep rang

The beep was slightly louder this time and so he was met with looks and glances from the people

Bruce gave them a smile of reassurance as he checked his phone yet again

D: Liar, I'm at the Manor right now.

Such a revelation caused Bruce to groan again, he didn't expect her to visit him on such a day

D: You're not here, I'm bored. Are you hiding from me?

B: Yes

D: Well then I guess I'll just have to find you then ;)

B: Very fun. Now leave me alone. You're interrupting the reverence here

D: Reverence? So that means you're somewhere quiet

Bruce gasped to himself realizing he just gave her a clue. Diana may be naïve and childish at times, but she can be quite cunning and smart.

It also doesn't help but he had been teaching her about deductions and such that would make her a great detective.

He was so deep in his thoughts that he wasted almost 10 minutes of just thinking

When suddenly, a hand came to his eyes, blinding him in the process

"Guess who" a familiar voice stated

It was at that moment that Bruce had realized the blunder he had created had led her here

He heaved another sigh as he slowly took her fingers out of his eyes

"You figured it out, huh?" He mumbled

"All thanks to your teachings, sensei" the voice responded in a sweet tone

Bruce raised his head and saw the Diana herself dressed in a smart look. She looked so beautiful in her layered sweater with pink collar sticking out just below her back and a nice black pencil skirt. She also had glasses on and her raven hair was tied in an updo.

"Why are you dressed like that?"

Diana sat across the table to face him. She closed her eyes and smiled as she bounced her little bun

"Like it? I figured you'd love my smart look" she responded

Bruce scoffed in response which made Diana look at him with a slightly annoyed expression

"Okay, princess." he responded as he continued writing his haiku

Diana grew curious of what he was doing and decided to ask him about it

"What are you doing, Bruce?"

"Haiku." Bruce sharply responded, not even bothering to look at her

Diana bit her lip as she inspected all the papers on the table. She reached out for one and read it out loud

The wind is so nice

It feels very nice today

Puts me in good mood

A sudden rush of embarrassment came to Bruce upon noticing it. And without hesitation, he reached out for the paper Diana was holding which she held away from him

They made quite a noise which disrupted the silence of the library, and so they were met with shushes from the library

Diana giggled silently and Bruce was conquered in embarrassment. He gazed at her laughing and it irked him even more

"This is why I didn't want you to come" He whispered

Diana rolled her eyes in response

"Oh come on Bruce, you know I can be quite the laidback soft-spoken type"

"Oof, really. That's what you said when we were kicked out from that one cinema because you were spoiling everything—"

Diana covered his mouth, preventing him from talking even more

"Please Bruce, that was a loooooongg time ago" Diana stated with a nervous smile on her face

Somehow Bruce was eased with this, seeing her reaction made him chuckle slightly

"Anyways, what is a haiku Bruce?" she asked

"A haiku is a Japanese poem which has 17 syllables divided into three lines of 5, 7, and 5 syllables."

Diana tapped her lip with her finger and looked up, indicating she was thinking of something

"So like.. Bruce is so grumpy, He is so bossy and strict, I really hate him"

Bruce smiled in response as he raised his head to look at her

"That was pretty good Diana, you're a fast learner" He uttered sarcastically "I didn't know that's how you feel about me, not at all"

"Thanks, I learned from the best" she responded with a wink

Bruce dropped the pen and leaned on his chair, crossing his arms in the process

"Haiku is a good way to express your emotions, thoughts and things that you've been hiding inside" He explained

"Things that I've been hiding inside?" she repeated

"Precisely, and so that poem earlier that you made is like your way to express your impression about me" he responded

"And that was very sweet, thank you" he sarcastically added

Diana giggled again; she liked this sarcastic part of Bruce so much. She finds it funny how Bruce can be brutally honest and condescending at times

"Can I take a paper?"

"Be my guest" he responded sharply

And so Diana reached out for a paper and started writing her personal Haikus with enthusiasm

xXx

It was almost 12 pm and the two didn't even realize they had been there for almost 3 hours. Diana, for some reason, is having a hard time creating the best haiku that would suit her thoughts and emotions

Bruce is such a jerk

He reminds me of a hedgehog

I really hate him

Diana groaned to herself, realizing the syllables failed to achieve the 5-7-5 format

And so she tried again

Bruce Wayne is a kid

He is very immature

He is like a child

Diana giggled in amusement upon reading the haiku that she created. Bruce noticed this and casted her a slight glance. He then saw Diana writing rapidly with a smile on her face

Bruce couldn't help but also smile seeing Diana like this

"And another one!" she pondered to herself

I ate fries today

It made my tummy grumble

I hate fries now.

Somehow, The last part failed to reach the 5-7-5 format and so it doesn't count

Thinking about food made Diana hungry all of a sudden, a grumble was heard from her tummy

She closed her eyes off embarrassment, hoping that no one noticed, especially the man across her. And when she opened her eyes, she saw Bruce with a smirk on his face looking at her

"Say, how would you like a bento for lunch, Diana?" he suggested

Diana smiled in response upon hearing Bruce's offer. She had never been in a Japanese restaurant before

"That would be lovely Bruce" she responded

And so Bruce stood up and stretched his back. He turned his attention to the table and reached out for Diana's haikus in a fast motion

"Hey!" she retorted

Bruce then read one of her haiku

"Bruce is a manchild. He looks like a gorilla. He likes bananas"

Bruce scoffed as he was reading her haiku

"This doesn't even make any sense" he uttered

Bruce reached out for another paper which Diana, again, failed to take away

"My apartment sucks. I feel so alone and sad. I really miss home."

Reading this made Bruce guilty all of a sudden, He turned to Diana with concern and she was just staring at him sadness in her eyes

Bruce closed his eyes and gave the paper back to her which she hesitantly accepted. There was only one paper left on the table, and when Bruce reached out to it…

A sudden hand that came out of nowhere swiftly took it away

"Noo, not this one Bruce"

"Come on, Diana. You can share anything with me" Bruce stated

Diana embraced the paper tightly to herself, not planning on ever letting Bruce see. For some reason she was getting flustered and embarrassed

"Still a no." she responded with a slight blush on her face

"Nobody should ever see this! Especially you Bruce…"

Bruce sighed to himself as he gathered all his materials. They may be good close friends and partners, but Bruce still respects Diana's privacy and such

Bruce gave her a smile as he stated

"I'll be waiting for you outside, go finish your haiku"

And then walked away.

Diana looked at him as he was getting farther and farther.

She was still holding the haiku close to her with her heart beating fast. A big relief came to her upon realizing he failed to see what was written on the paper

"It would've been very awkward for the both of us" she thought to herself

Slowly, she took a glance of that paper again and a smile formed on her lips

Bruce may not know this

but I think of him a lot

I really love him
