The night was busy, with the growling noises of cars passing by. Diana, who was standing atop of a building, was starting to get boredom get to the best of her. She turned to the other corner, where a certain Dark Knight was keeping watch attentively.

She blew out a sigh upon seeing this. They were to keep watch of a person of interest that can give a lead to the Falcone Family and their connections to Gotham. Diana isn't really the "Waiting" type and her patience is something that she is not quite proud of

As an Amazon, she just wanted the thrill of combat, to engage in battle and to get the best of her opponents. But as Wonder Woman, she knew it was unwise to have such reckless mindset – at least that's what The Batman told her…

The silence between them was starting to bother her, she was staring at him from the corner of her eyes as her lips started to form into a pout. This waiting is gonna drain her down soon, she needed to at least do something in the meantime

"So… we just have to wait, right?"

"Yeah."

"Oh…" Diana returns to her watchful state, but her boredom was getting too powerful to ignore. Still staring at him, she started to whistle to alleviate the mood. Which Batman didn't seem to mind that much

"Perhaps he is in a better mood today, maybe I can strike up a conversation"

"So… Br– I mean… Batman. Your cape looks more ironed today."

"Thanks."

"Yeah, I mean, it's not that I'm one to say, you know. I don't even iron my battle uniform, if you know what I'm saying, he he…"

"No, I don't."

Diana scratched her head upon making such an embarrassing statement. It was that "cringey" moment that he had told her about

Either ways, she needed to resume their conversation

"So… what did you eat today for breakfast?"

"Pancakes."

"Oooh, I love pancakes. Donna loves hers with chocolate but I love mine with syrup!"

"Cool."

"Well, if you wanna know, I had an omelet for breakfast today~"

"I don't wanna know."

"Hera, very enthusiastic indeed, Bruce"

"You're doing it again?"

"What?"

"Using my name in uniforms."

"Ohhh… I'm sorry."

"Just don't do it again."

Afterwards, another surge of silence rushed between the two. It was fairly awkward, and it seemed that he was too distant from her which she didn't really want

Diana needed to keep the conversation running.

"So… how was your day?"

"Tiring."

"Wayne Enterprises responsibilities, huh… That's way outside of my field, but I wish you luck on that"

"Thanks."

"So, what do you usually do there anyways? I heard your job consists of just firing people and be grumpy as the boss"

"You sure are very talkative today, Princess."

"Well… I don't see the harm on doing so. We can pass time by having a conversation, you know"

"Perhaps."

"Did you see the new movie recently?"

"No, I haven't."

"I haven't either, but I heard it was really good, like really really good"

"That's up to the audience."

"Speaking of movies, what genre do you like?"

"Mystery."

"Ooh, mystery… well I have hard time catching up on mystery movies, most are just very deep for me"

"Okay."

"Aren't you gonna ask me what genre I like?"

"No. I already know the answer"

"Really? Try me then"

"Children's movies about Fairy Tales."

"Hera, how rude. That is not true at all!"

"It is."

"I'll have you know that my favorite genre of movies is ROMANCE."

"Yeah, you like romantic fairy tale stories."

"Wow, I didn't know this is how you see me…"

"This is the real you."

Somehow, his answer struck Diana inside. She has been trying to be all mature and more woman-like but deep inside, what he said was true. And the fact that he knew this says that he knows her very well

"Well… I do watch them, sometimes…"

"Nice."

"Sometimes, I watch horror movies, and all that scary stuff"

"No you don't, the last time you did, you had to sleep in my room because you can't sleep alone in your room,"

"Okay, now that is not true at all. I already told you that the reason behind that was because the air conditioner wasn't working in my room, and it was very hot so I decided to stay in your room"

"We have plenty of rooms in the Manor and you chose mine specifically."

"Well, your room has the best air conditioning, unlike the other rooms"

"Whatever you say, Princess."

"What's with that tone? You're not making fun of me, are you?"

Bruce didn't respond.

"Okay, now you're giving me the silent treatment huh, Okay, two can play that game." Diana crossed her arms in defiance

Bruce then shushed her in response as he pointed at the alleyway. There was a man and a woman walking close to each other like a couple

"Wait… isn't that Deborah Fletcher?" Diana uttered upon noticing the lady

"Yeah, and the man with her is no other than Michael Falcone, the person that could link us to the main proprietor"

"Well, what are we waiting for?" Diana clenched her fists and was about to fly down "Let's beat some information out of them"

Batman held her shoulders still "No, I already know the story behind it"

Wonder Woman looked at him with a curious glance.

"You do?"

Batman cleared his throat "The only reason why the Falcones are dealing with the Elites is to gain consideration from the higher ups. Michael cheating with his wife is a giveaway of what conceals everything. They are trying to cover everything up by making it seem that way."

"So… you're telling me that Michael Falcone is behind all this?

"No, Michael is the scapegoat. Deborah is a puppet by the elites to keep the scapegoat at hand and controlled. By having her claws on him, Michael won't be able to do anything reckless such as revealing secrets from his family"

"I don't quite follow…" Diana hesitated, clearly confused

"Well, some people are just that good to hide their secrets. And most people fall for it, and that's why the Falcones have gotten away with a lot of their heinous acts throughout"

"Ohhh… I see" Diana was starting to get what he meant "So should we interrogate the both of them then?"

"No, that would alert the Falcones and the elites. The last thing we want is to let them know that we are unto them. Taking them by surprise is the best approach"

"We sneak up on them, take them out of nowhere, then we trap them to a corner where they cannot escape"

"Exactly, you're starting to think like me. Diana" Batman stated in a low voice as he looked at her

"Well, I learned from the best~" She responded in a proud tone

And so, they watched the pair slip away, making it seem like they weren't watched. And they didn't have any idea

"If I rushed to my instincts back there, I would've ruined the plan." Wonder Woman hesitated upon finding the resolve

"That's why we think before we act, Wonder Woman." Batman responded, turning off his detective mode in the process

"It's getting late, go home for now. I'll give you updates on our next approach"

"Yeah, I will…" Diana gave him a look of approval

"Good Evening, Bruce."

As she was about to fly away, a certain voice from behind called out for her

"Wait… Diana!"

In a quick second, Diana turned around to meet him again with joy in her eyes

"Yes!"

"Can I eat at your house tonight, I don't really want to wake up Alfred for a late night dinner"

Joy filled her upon hearing this, but she had to keep it subtle. Right in front of him was Batman after all

"Absolut…" Diana stuttered "I mean, yes. Yes you can, Batman"

Batman then went to the batplane, it opened the shafts just from a tap of a button in his arm as he hopped in

"Would you like to race as usual?"

"No…" Diana dashed to the seat next to him, making herself inside his vehicle

"Tonight, I'll ride with you~"

"Cute, but make sure to fasten your seatbelts"

"I will, if you also fasten yours"

"What kind of a childish banter is that?"

"A special Amazon banter"

"Of course…" Batman couldn't help but smile with that response.

He then starts the engine which made the aircraft float from the rooftop and flew to the skies

"I'll cook."

"No, I'll cook this time"

"You will?"

"Yeah, I've been practicing."

"Well okay then, just make sure to not marinate the vegetables like before"

"That was a LONG time ago, Bruce!" Diana grunted with embarrassment in her voice

"But enough about that, because tonight, we are gonna watch a special movie about romance"

"You mean a fairy tale movie?"

"Bruce!" she huffed this time with her face all red from his responses

"Gee, you always treat me like this.."

"It is the real you, isn't it?" Bruce responded while giving her a side-eye glance

Diana was quiet for a few seconds, twiddling her fingers with a pout on her face. She wanted to be defiant and grumpy, but he was correct.

"Yeah.."

Bruce takes off his helm as a smile forms on his face. The two were currently flying just above the city of Gotham and it was a special moment nonetheless. Bruce was the only man who could see such a side in Diana, and he knew about it damn well.

The Wonder Woman that everyone sees is nothing compared to the childish, whiney and spoiled Diana that he knows

"Let's continue our conversation earlier, as ourselves this time."

Diana's face lit up upon hearing this, just like that, her grumpiness flew way out of the window. She then takes off her tiara and her gauntlets as she leaned more comfortably in her seat. An innocent smile forms on her lips with her sapphire eyes shimmering of excitement

"If you insist, Bruce Wayne~"

The moment was perfect as they talked about random things about each other while soaring the skies of Gotham. There were no Wonder Woman, no masks, no facades…

At that moment, she was just Diana, and she didn't need to be someone else she's not.

She can always be herself with Bruce, and it was one of the main reasons why she really loved being around him very much.

Safe to say that Diana's boredom was... well spent~
