The train is riggeding
Badum badum badum!
The bad guys were so bad that they were wearing bad guy clothes… and also stupid hats and eye patches for the added ugly points.
And there were even bad women!
Everything was happening currently in the boarding train… but fear not. The Fastest Hand in the West is here!
That was what happened when a cool man finally came to the scene, he's so cool… very cool… The coolest even!
"What you're looking for is not here, Sheriff" One of the bad guys said, he was so bad that he look ugly also
"I'm here to rescue the princess, now hand her over!" Sheriff Wayne said in a very cool way
"Ahuh, you and what army!?"
"Well… I brought my dinosaur who does karate!"
A big dinosaur came in front while impressing everyone with his karate skills
"That is indeed awesome, but we have a force field dog!"
A small doggie appeared just beside the bad guys but he had cool force field shield also! But not as cool as a dinosaur who does karate!
"Now give it up, Sheriff Wayne!"
"Hah, a true hero never gives up, bad guy"
Sheriff Wayne then pulled out his gun and shot the corner screws of the train, leaving him scrambling to the floor with a big ouchie
"Now where is the princess?"
Just ahead are group of bad women holding her captive, they were carrying swords and shields. The Princess looked at her with her worrisome eyes
"Save me, Sheriff!"
"Fear not, Princess!" Sheriff Wayne said as he pulls out his sword "Sheriff Wayne is here to save the day!"
And Sheriff took care of the bad girls. He hit them with a POW and an AWOW
He kicked their sorry butts!
And now the princess is safe..
"Oh my, how could I ever thank you Mr…"
"Wayne, Sheriff Wayne."
"Sheriff Wayne… You're my hero!"
And then they smooched, a very nice smoochey smoochey in the face
The End

The moonlight above shone through the busy streets of Gotham as the sirens from the police cars echoed throughout. Diana, who was awfully silent, couldn't help but gaze at her partner who wasn't like himself tonight
Mostly, he would be composed and flawless, not even making a mere mistake throughout. But in this certain night, he sure was clumsy and even reckless at times
Something was bothering him.
"B-Bruce…"
"What did I say about using names in uniforms?" He retorted quickly
The Amazon was silent
"I-I'm sorry…" Diana said upon realizing her mistake "Are you feeling fine?"
The Batman didn't respond
Her eves never left his. Despite his stoic and unfazed expression. Something was off about him today. He wasn't really the expressive type, but something is totally off about Bruce today
When they finally reached the batcave, Batman didn't hesitate to hop off and take off his helm as he went to the batcomputer. Diana followed, wanting to reach out and continue their conversation now that they are finally alone in the batcave
"Do you want to talk about it, Br…"
"The night was successful, we managed to pawn down one of Gotham's main proprietor of illegal firearms. The intel was right and we tracked them down easily" Bruce turned to her with his soulless eyes "Thank you for helping today. You may go home now"
Now feeling infuriated, Diana immediately blocked his way as he turned around
"Look at me, Bruce" She glared at him "What is going on with you tonight?"
The Batman did not respond and took the other way instead with a certain Amazon in his way
"Don't you turn your back on me, Bruce Wayne!" Diana roared as she held his arm in one place
He stopped momentarily, slowly shrugging off her hold upon him. For a moment, Diana felt something coming from him. An aura of sadness and gloom
"Leave me alone, Diana"
"Tell me what's bothering you, please…" Diana insisted softly
"Y-You don't understand…"
"Then make me understand…" Diana slowly reaches out to him "Is this about something from your past? Please tell me about your pain, I know how it feels like…"
"YOU DON'T HAVE ANY CLUE ABOUT MY DAMN PAIN!" Bruce snapped, his loud voice startling the bats from the ceiling of the cave and stunning Diana speechless. Diana stepped back in response with a surprised expression
Upon coming back to his senses, Bruce stepped back and looked away "You don't understand my pain… you can't" Bruce wiped something from his face as he sniffles slowly
"No one does…"
He slowly turned to her, and his eyes says it all. His eyes showed misery and regret. He didn't say or express anything, but Diana could feel it from him
Bruce forced a smile "Good Night, Diana"
Batman finally walked away, into the dark depths of the batcave where his form could barely be seen
Diana wanted to follow him but a certain voice from behind caught her attention
"If you would please, Miss Diana" It was Alfred in his usual attire "There is something you need to know about this certain day…"
"Certain day?" Diana puzzled upon hearing this "Is there something special about today, Alfred?"
"Sire hasn't told you?"
"He doesn't really tell me anything much about anything like this whatsoever..." Diana looked away in melancholy
"Well… there is something you must know."
Alfred led Diana to the living room where a certain big portrait of the Waynes were at. Thomas and Martha Wayne together in one big portrait
"These are… Bruce's parents… right?"
Alfred nodded "Today is… their death anniversary. Every year, this would be a day of mourning for the young sire. A day of complete misery and sadness."
"It's a tradition then?" Diana asked
"Considerably, yes" Alfred said in a sad voice "It would be a break day for the young sire every year, when he doesn't go on patrol, but when he heard you were fighting Giganta in such a compromising situation, he knew he had to help"
"Great Gaia... I didn't know" Diana whispered under her breath upon the realization "So all of this is my fault then…"
"Not quite" the British butler said "but now, you understand about sire's sudden gloom tonight, Miss Diana. Please have more patience for the young sire"
"After all…" Alfred looked at the portrait once again "Deep inside, he is just a grieving orphan who is carrying the burden all to himself"
Diana also looked at the portrait of the Waynes. She has seen this portrait before, but she didn't know it held such a sentimental value to Bruce.
"I just want to know more about Bruce, I just wish he would tell me more about him.."
"If it helps, There is a photo album of Bruce in his childhood just by the drawer there." Alfred pointed at the drawer next to Diana "You may know him a lot better that way"
Diana opened the drawer, and there was a certain photo album, beside it was a quite mysterious book of some sort
"Well, I'm off for a shut-eye now. Have a nice evening, Miss Diana" Alfred said, giving a bow of respect in the process
"Thank you, Alfred" Diana nodded in response
And so, Alfred headed to his quarters upstairs. The winter evening was just beginning for Diana as the fire from the fireplace provided warmth for the cold winter night in the living room.
Holding the photo album to herself, Diana made her way to the couch. She opened the album and pictures of a little baby came to her sight
The baby was in his crib with a big smile on his face. He was wearing a cute baby outfit and holding a pacifier. Diana couldn't help but smile on how adorable he looked
He flipped the page, and this time, the baby was now walking on his feet while holding the hand of a man resembling the man on the portrait. Diana turned to the side and it was now a photo of the lovely woman holding the baby this time with her bright blue eyes
It was certainly Martha Wayne, Bruce's mother. She looked very gorgeous there. And the baby was… smiling
As she flipped more pages, the baby grew more and more into a little boy. From his first day at kindergarten to his first church service. Then his first time riding a boat and his first time catching fishes
Then another picture was the boy sitting next to… a certain pretty girl with red hair
Each photo told many stories, and in each of them… the boy's smile was very genuine and real
Diana flipped one more page, and there was only one photo left. It was a picture of Bruce riding a swing in the park. There were no pictures left in the album and that was the last one.
As always, he had a smile on while riding a swing. He wore a very nice small waistcoat and a coat in a nice winter afternoon while holding a nice book and a pen
Diana wondered what the story behind that was, and why there were no pictures left. She wanted to ask Bruce about it but now might not be a good time
It was crazy how Bruce's smile faded overtime, and how it seemed to be that way. Bruce must've been really hurt to be that way
Somehow, by looking at the photos, she felt more connected to Bruce. A special part of his life was discovered by hers truly. Knowing how much he has changed over the years is truly heartbreaking
From the happy-go-lucky boy to the gloomy man that he is now..
"If only… I could change the past.." Diana muttered to herself with her eyes closed "If only Bruce's parents have lived… then he wouldn't have to deal with such pain.."
As she thought of him, a sudden feel of comfort came to Diana. The feel of the winter night finally came to her alongside with the warmth of the fireplace. She could feel her eyes slowly drooping down as she leaned on the couch and fell down.
"Bruce…"
It didn't take much too long before slumber finally got to the princess…

Great Gaia, what on earth…
For some reason, everything was white and there was nothing there at all
Am I… dreaming?
"Where am I?"
"Greetings"
I stumbled down as I notice a certain black cat from below. It had golden and purple eyes, different from each side
That's quite a peculiar color for a cat
"I've never seen a cat talking before" I said quite surprised
"That's because I am no ordinary cat" The cat then hopped unto the branch of the tree as it looked far ahead "I am the dweller of space between time and beyond, and I can see all events happening throughout"
"That's odd" I blurted
"Yes. Yes it is." The cat meowed as it turned to me "I have many names, but I am most known as Father Time"
"Father Time?"
"Precisely, child" The cat responded
"Well then Father Time, can you tell me where I am and what I'm supposed to be doing here"
"If you haven't noticed yet, you child, is in a dream"
"A dream?"
"Many moons ago, a certain individual named Bruce Wayne and me had a very important deal. Surely you know him"
"Yes, I do know him" I responded just as immediately
"It turns out you may have been intertwined with this boy's fate, such as thing called destiny. Destiny is far beyond my field, but time is certainly what I roam upon"
The cat hopped two times before landing on the roots of the tree
"You made a certain wish that would conceive through" The cat explained while licking it's paw "Would you like to see it happen?"
"You mean Bruce's parents never getting murdered and him being happy in the long run?"
The cat nodded
"Yes, I would love Bruce to be happy and so I would love to see that"
The cat let out a sinister scoff "Well, be careful what you wish for, child"
All of a sudden, the empty space now consisted of certain sceneries. A city of some sort that was awfully familiar to me
"Are we… in Gotham?"
"Yes we are.." Father Time said as he walked through the streets with his four little paws and tail swaying back and forth
Despite being Gotham, something was awfully off about the city. It reeked of vile and an even more sinister aura with the entire thing seeming straight out of a story book of a villain's lair. I looked around, and there were barely people in it, it was like a ghost town throughout
"What happened to the people?"
"Most have left, I'm afraid" The cat responded "There is no such thing as a perfect place, but this one is far too insufferable for the people to stay in. With corruption strewn all over, crime on the rise and the never ending dangers of the city overall"
A certain question came to my mind "W-What about Bruce… where is he?"
"Speaking of the devil.." The cat said as he looked ahead. There was a group of papparazis with their photo flashes and cameras all over. And out a certain limousine was a certain familiar man who had the brightest smirk among them, holding two women in each arm.
"Bruce…" I couldn't help but utter
What raved my mind was he was going to this building called a strip club. What was he doing there? What business does Bruce have to do in such a place
"What is he doing in there, Father Time?"
"Well… he's up to his usual degenerate ways" The cat licked his paw upon responding
"Degenerate? Bruce is anything but degenerate!" I couldn't help but bark back
"This is not the Bruce that you know" The cat responded as he leaped on one of the store roofs
"Bruce lived a life of wealth and leisure, of power and prosperity. Obviously, this would be how it turns out"
"Heeeelp!"
A certain voice of a little girl called out as she was being chased by a group of men holding weapons. Upon seeing this, an instinct came to me to help, but as I was about to make a move, the voice spoke to me
"We are mere apparitions, child. You cannot do anything even if you want to"
The passerbys seemed to be blind over what's happening as they went on with their usual night of walking
"What about the police? Why isn't anyone trying to help?"
"Why would they? What would they gain from doing such a noble thing when the city itself is trying to drag them to the ground?" the cat meowed
The cat made no sense, there must still be good people here… but then, a certain man came to my mind..
"Batman…" I spurted out "What about Batman?"
"Batman?" the cat chuckled feintly "What about him?"
"Where is he?" I reasoned out "Why isn't he doing anything in this whole thing"
The cat now turned to me with a serious look "There is no such thing as Batman."
Hearing such revelation almost made me stumble. A Gotham without Batman is like…
"Wha…What?"
The cat ran in circles
"When his parents survived the attack, Bruce never got the motivation to save his city or protect the innocent. He never got the drive to push himself to the limit to do what must be done and he never gotten the ultimate push to become a symbol of fear for those wicked ones"
"N-no… this is simply untrue" I stuttered slow upon hearing such revealing "This simply cannot be.."
"But it is what it is…" The cat meowed again, preparing his hunting stance upon spotting a certain rat by the creek "Things happen for a reason after all"
"So that means… if his parents never got murdered…" I gazed upon a certain alley way between to buildings as I uttered "Then there would be no Batman"
"Precisely" The feline said
A city without a watcher
"But fret not, look at him there" The cat turned to Bruce Wayne making out with some random lady by an alley "He looks genuinely happy and enjoying his time, isn't he?"
"But this… this isn't the Bruce Wayne I know." I could feel my chest tighten as the sight of him kissing another lady came to me
"This is a prize of everything you wished for, but at least Bruce is happy, right?" The cat insinuated
"I… I don't know…" Diana muttered under her breath "It just… pains me to see him suffering over something he has no control of. And the fact that he had to live through it for the rest of his life is even more sad…"
"All I wanted was him to be happy throughout, but this is what it leads to… it simply isn't fair" I felt my heart ache upon saying this.
"Well, everything do happen for a reason after all" The cat meowed loudly afterwards
The price of him being happy is such a cruel punishment
Why can't Bruce be happy? Why can't he grow up like any normal boy would?
Why?
.
.
.
"Hey lady!"
A certain high pitched voice brought me back to my senses as I turned to the source. It was boy who was swinging next to me
"What's your name?" he asked me
Swinging? When did I get here?
As I looked around, I was now at a small park or something in a nice winter afternoon. The cat was no longer with me also. Who knows where on Gaia's green nature he ran off to..
"Soo… are you gonna answer my question?" the boy asked again
"Oh… uh.. my name is Diana." I stuttered slow with his remark
"Diana huh.." the boy uttered while looking up for deep thought "That's a great idea for a name!"
The boy then wrote something on the book he was holding with his pen on his left hand. He was now engrossed with the whole thing, completely focused on whatever he was doing
Somehow, it piqued my curiosity
"What are you writing?" I asked
"It's a cool story of a man saving a princess. And I needed a name for a princess" the boy responded, still focusing on writing "I think your name will be nice, Ma'am"
"Why... thank you.." I softly hummed
After a few seconds, the boy finally closes his book and turns to me. "Thank you, Ma'am" As he did, he notices something about me
"Aren't you cold?" he asked with concern "Where's your coat?"
"Oh don't worry about me, I can handle cold pretty well"
The boy pouted as he stood up to his feet and gave me his book "Wait here, I'll just go grab something and I'll be back. Don't go anywhere!"
He then ran to the opposite direction with a dash of haste
Meanwhile, I was now all alone in that swing while holding the book that he was writing on. It was bookmarked at the last word that he wrote which is my name.
As I read through the whole thing from the beginning, I couldn't help but chuckle at how ridiculous the story was, but it was to be expected from a story of a little boy's perspective.
Wait… why does this setting seem awfully familiar?
"I'm back!"
The boy's voice was heard from afar and he was now carrying a big blanket and two hot chocolate in his mitten covered hands. He made his way back to his swing and gave me one of the mugs
"This is for you" he said nicely
"Aww, that's very kind of you" I fawned in response. The boy was very precious indeed
"And here, you can have this." The boy said as he covered me with the blanket in addition
"I don't want you to catch a cold, Ma'am. I caught a cold once and it wasn't very nice"
This fondness, his gentleness… his tender and care…
It reminded me so much of a certain someone
Those eyes looking back at me, those eyes that I knew so well
Hera, I know this so well
And so, I returned his book which he accepted eagerly
"Your story was very good" I remarked in a nice way
"You think so?" he chimed in "What was your favorite part?"
"My favorite part was when the Sheriff saved Princess Diana from the villains"
"Bad women!" Bruce chuckled just as immediately "I feel like there are some bad women out there, not just men"
"I sure do know a lot about bad women" I murmured slow under my breath
The boy sipped a portion of his hot chocolate as he said "Me and my folks are gonna go watch a movie tomorrow and I'm so excited!"
"That sounds very wonderful, what movie is it?"
"The mask of Zorro, it's one of my favorite ones.."
"The mask of Zorro?" suddenly, a premonition came to me. It was… his parents and that incident
.
.
.
Father Time now appeared beside me as the environment changed yet again. It was nighttime, and the boy was walking with his parents in a nearby alley
They had smiles all over their faces, genuine smiles.
But suddenly, a man of some sort had pointed a gun at them in which horrified them thoroughly, especially the innocent boy with them
I wanted to help and stop such thing, this is something this sweet innocent and caring boy shouldn't experience
But yet again… stopping this incident would mean a lot of changes..
And so I had to stand by and watch as the boy that I knew become orphaned in a split second, absolutely wrecked of what just happened with his eyes completely soulless
The joy and happiness that filled his eyes was no longer, and replaced by emptiness
I wanted to approach the boy and console him. And despite the tragedy, it was something that should be done, no matter how much painful it was, it had to be done… for the sake of everything.
.
.
.
"Diana!"
I heard the boy call out to me, and just like that, I returned to my senses. Now back at the park and on the swings in the nice afternoon, I turned to see the boy smiling at me with pure excitement
"Yes… I'm listening.." I hesitated slow
"How do you think the movie is gonna be?" The boy said as he stood up and drew his imaginary guns from his imaginary holster "I bet it would be very awesome and wonderful!"
"yeah… I..uhh" I looked away out of guilt, my heart ached for what awaits the boy. I kept my lips sealed… it must be done
I want to stop him, prevent him from going. I want to prevent everything from happening.
But that would mean… a lot
And so I had no choice but to stay still and do nothing. The bitter truth made my heart ache, bur f
The boy then turned to me with his usual kind eyes, his smile as pure as ever as he hummed…
"Thank you for reading my story, Diana.."
~0~
Diana's eyes opened, savoring the warmth of the fireplace as the surreal feeling of everything no longer was there. As she sat up, she felt something wrapped around her – it was a blanket of some sort that was strewn all over her.
A certain scent also caught her attention, it was coming from the table just near her. As her eyes landed on it, there was a mug of hot chocolate, hot and ready on the table and a note that says
~0~0~0~
You slept in your uniform again, again for the thousandth time, Diana.
P.S. Keep warm, it's cold in here. I hope the hot chocolate and the blanket will
-B
~0~0~0~
A smile forms on her lips. Somehow, he still manages to show his care and tenderness despite his awfully distant mood.
It sure was awfully familiar of her dream just now…
And now, there was one thing that she should do
~x X x~
"When was the last time I went here?" Bruce uttered to himself, shivering at the cold brushing past him and the snowflakes landing on his face.
The young man was currently at a certain park just a few blocks of the Wayne Manor. He was holding a book of some sort in his right hand which seemed very important to him
Even so, Bruce didn't have the courage to open it. It had been so many years already since he's done so. And surely, it would only bring back memories
Reminiscing the memories made him remember the past again, the same awful sceneries and the sound of the gunshot still haunting him till this day
Before he was completely captivated by his darkness, a certain presence caught his attention. It was a lady wearing a nice red sweater and holding two mugs that had a hot chocolate scent in it
"How did you find me here" Bruce sighed as he looked at the ground
"The same way I always manage to find you~" Diana responded playfully as she hands him the mug of hot chocolate which he accepts eagerly
"Thanks…" Bruce uttered slow as she looked at her "And… I'm sorry with how I treated you earlier. I shouldn't have done that.."
Diana shook her head sideways "No, I completely understand, Bruce" she smiled at him in addition
Bruce smiled back as he returns her gaze. After a few moments, he looked at the park where they were currently in
"I used to come here a lot as a kid" Slowly caressing the cold feel of the metal bars from the swing "A place that held a lot of my childhood memories, you know.."
Diana turned to him, as her gaze lands on the book he was carrying "What do you have there?"
Bruce looked at what she was pertaining to "This is a book that had a story that I wrote as a kid, it's not really that interesting.."
"Would you mind If I read it?"
Uncertainty brewed in Bruce as his eyes fumed of worry. It was something very personal and precious to him and was a big relic of his former life… basically something that he never shows just to anyone
But Diana is not just anyone.
"I mean… If you want.." Bruce hesitated as he hands her the book which she eagerly accepted
Amused, a smile forms on Diana's lips upon reading the contents. As she finally reached the last page of the text, she took out the pen from her pocket and wrote something in the remaining space
Diana returned the book to him sheepishly which he found a bit strange. He read the book again and notices that her name was on the remaining part
"Princess Diana?" Bruce gazed upon her
Diana smiled at him "Fits better that way, don't you think?" she bit her lip in anticipation, hoping it would be perfect and okay with him
His response was awfully unexpected, as a chuckle escaped from him. He closes the book covers as he turned back to her
"Yeah, it is better that way, Princess Diana" Bruce winked playfully
"See, I told you, Sheriff Wayne" Diana bit back with a teasing look of her own
As she stared at him, she remembers the same setting from her dream. He was at the exact spot with the same exact smile on his face. Despite being through so much, she can tell the young man still tries to be happy once in a while
Despite the tragedies, the Bruce that she knows is still standing despite everything. Against all odds, he went through them alone
But not anymore..
After a few moments, the temporary smile on the young man's face finally faded with an uncertain frown.
Diana held his hand, it was cold as expected from the climate and the snow from the outside. It also reflected Bruce in a lot of ways, the cold and unnerving life of a person that had the remaining happiness in his life taken in just one night
"I've heard about what today was supposed to be" Diana slowly uttered, holding his hand tighter with every second "I'm very sorry.."
This was… the only thing Diana could do at the moment. Bruce's happiness is always intertwined with a bad consequence every time. The poor man was cursed throughout and he has been carrying the burden on his shoulders
And the worse thing is no matter how much she wanted to help him with the pain… there's nothing she could do…
But to be with him in his darkest times.
Bruce turned to her with an annoyed expression "Don't be.." slowly shrugging off Diana's hand on his
But before he could do so, Diana caught his hand again with hers as it caught Bruce's attention to her
"Please…" Diana glanced at her with concern. Her sapphire blue eyes shimmering just by the moonlight from above "Forgive me for being so helpless… for not being able to do anything about your pain despite everything you've done for me"
"Please, let be here for you… even with something like this" Diana added, her eyes staring straight into Bruce's.
Despite everything, his happiness is her happiness as well. She wants nothing more than to see her precious partner and friend be happy for once… genuinely happy
Diana's voice shivered, the guilt emanating from the deepest abyss of her subconscious and out by her words. "Don't worry about me, I can handle it.."
Bruce then turns to her with a smile on his face, his eyes still lingered of sadness and misery but his smile was radiant and pure, quite similar to the smile he had as a boy
"Thank you for reading my story, Diana."

The lights flickered open, as I found myself a bit blinded by the sudden brightness. There in the door was mom herself in her bathrobe
"Now what did we tell you about staying up late, young man?" she said
"B-But Mom… I was just finishing my story!" I whined in response
"A story is it?" Dad's voice echoed also in the room
"What kind of a story is it?" Mom asked
"It's a fun story of a Western cowboy and how he saved a princess!" I bragged in joy as I gave the book to my Mother that she started reading
"A western cowboy… and a princess?" Mom repeated in surprise "He sure took after you, Thomas Hee-hee!"
"Oh come on, I sure am not that childish, Martha" Dad spoke in response "Well maybe a little"
After finishing reading my story, Mom turned to me "You left the name of the princess blank.." she said "What would you like to name her?"
"hmmm… I was thinking of the name… Diana"
"Diana?" Mom said in surprise "Now that is a wonderful name!"
"Anyways, we got to git to the hays now, Bruce" Dad said as he held me and mom "Goodnight Son"
"G'night Dad!" I greeted in response
"Goodnight, Bruce" Mom soothed as she kissed my forehead in addition
"G'night Mom" I mumbled with my eyes closed
"Do have sweet dreams, Honey" Mom said as she stood up from my bed
"And Tomorrow is gonna be the premiere of that Zorro movie you've always wanted to see so you better have plenty of rest" Dad whispered to me as Mom was about to leave the room
My eyes opened in excitement as I heard this. I can't wait till tomorrow…
.
.
.
"Tomorrow is gonna be the best day of my life."
