A trip to Paris? Luna would never have thought that in her life. Sure, he thought that she would visit London one day, like her own father did, but Paris? It was a whole new level of extraordinary for her. She could bring Sam, and make it a romantic trip since France is the country of love abd romance, snd she was starting to imagine being at the peak of the Eiffel Tower, the country's most famous landmark and making out with Sam under the light of the full moon to make it more magical.
Meanwhile, there was a knock on the front door and Luna went to answer it. It was Jeff, Tammy, and their nephew, Elroy with his faithful dog, wagging his tail and panting like any other dog would do. "Hi Luna." said the small boy.
"Hello Luna," said Jeff. "We hope we are not intruding in any affairs such as crime-fighting, searching for villains or anything like that."
"Nah. Not busy at the moment, Jeff. What's up?"
Tammy spoke next when she said: "me and my darling husband are going out to dinner tonight, and our babysitter for Elroy canceled at the last minute after one of her family members had died from a heart attack."
"We were wondering if you could watch Elroy for a few hours until seven o' clock?" Jeff added. "We'll pay you ten bucks per hour."
Luna smiled and looked at the adorable boy, then smiled, looking at the boy's adopted parents before replying: "sure thing. I'll make sure that he has a fun time with me and to keep him company. Besides, I saved this little dude from... you know."
She didn't want to bring up the abusive parents thing, for he didn't want to make him cry or ring uo really terrible memories of being with his abusive mother and father putting him through much domestic violence before Luna saved the lad and brought him to his aunt and uncle. "Elroy, you wanna have some fun with me and my cool family?"
"Yeah! I would like that. So would Dave here." The boy said with excitement. His pooch barked with happiness, feeling just as excited as his young owner. "What can we do for fun?"
"Well, what do you want to do for fun, buddy?"
"Gus's Games N Grub, maybe?" Elroy suggested the superhero.
"Sure! That sounds fun. We'll go there and play some games in the arcade."
"Well I hope you will be fine with Luna, Elroy. Just listen to her and do as she says when she tells you to something." Jeff said.
"And if there is any trouble," Tammy added, "just give us a call and we'll help you." She pulled out a piece of scratch paper, and wrote down her and her husband's phone number in case there is an emergency, and gave it to Luna for safekeeping, and she put it on the coffee table in the living room.
Jeff and Tammy hugged Elroy before the boy's aunt gave him a kiss on the forehead, and the uncle patted Dave's head, making him move his tail happily. "Dave, please protect him with your life." Jeff addressed the sweet dog. Dave nodded his head, promising that he will protect the poor kid in case something happens.
"Perfect! Come on, Tammy. We have to try the Italian-German mix restaurant that just opened." Jeff said, sounding excited
"Right behind you, darling." Tammy sang before they both head out for dinner.
Elroy was with Luna for the time being and he hoped that Luna will be good with him, and not be like his abusive parents thag will no longer hurt him. The kid didn't even want to think about it after all he has been through with his parents. The kid didn't know why his parents would do this to him and he thought that all parents were supposed to be very loving towards their children.
But, alas, not all parents are like that. There could be other parents like Elroy's in the world that are like them, or even worse than them. "You ok, Elroy?" Luna asked him.
"Yeah. I'm fine. Why?"
"You just seem quiet. Something wrong?"
"Well, I was thinking about my mommy and daddy." The kid admitted. "I love them, but... why would they hurt me? It's like... nothing I do is good enough for them."
"Hey Luna, who was at..." Lincoln came downstairs and he was holding one of his handheld games in his right hand. "Oh, hi Elroy." he greeted the child.
"Hi Lincoln." Elroy replied: "how are you?"
"Good."
"Elroy's gonna be staying here for a few hours while his aunt and uncle are out for a romantic dinner." Luna explained.
"Oh. That's cool."
"I wanna play at Gus's Games N Grub today." Elroy said.
"Awesome! I wanna join in on the fun." Lincoln said.
"Sure little bro. I know how much you love gaming." Luna said. As they walked in the snowy street down the arcade, Luna said to Elroy, "look buddy, I know how you feel about your folks, but you shouldn't worry about it. And about what happened with you, it wasn't your fault."
"Yeah, you are a good boy." Lincoln added. "Granted, i do not know you that well, but i know that you would never do anything bad or evil."
Elroy smiled and he said: "thanks, Lincoln. I don't hate them but I just want to know why they would hit or hurt me."
Luna gave him a sympathetic look and wrapped her arm around his small shoulders. "I have no idea, Elroy. I really don't know why they would do this. And I wasn't really there to see what they would do."
"Probably a question even they can't answer." Lincoln added.
"Yeah! That's right." Luna said. "But don't worry about it. You got your aunt, uncle, and Dave here."
The friendly retriever barked a few times and licked Elroy's face, making him laugh. "Yeah, I guess you're right."
