In the Loud House, the parents were a little worried about how Luna and Lincoln were fairing in one of the greatest and strongest countries in the world. Granted, Luna has ice powers on her side as a superhero, but they were still concerned for their safety. Rita was especially concerned for Lincoln since mothers have a tendency to worry about their own sons if they are gone for an extended period of time, and the fact that he doesn't have superpowers. Alas, there was nothing the parents could do to bring them both back, and they know that they will do the best they can in staying safe and OK in Paris on their nice vacation. Besides, one of these days, the parents knew that one of these days, everyone in the family will be heading to Paris.
"Well, I guess we shouldn't worry about them." said Lynn Sr. "Luna will protect Lincoln in case he gets mugged at night or something bad happens."
"Let's just not think about it too much, Lynn." Rita decreed. "Besides, plane tickets to Paris don't really come cheap for nine people at once. Tickets from here to Paris would cost a fortune if all of us went aboard a plane there. We would have to sell the whole house just to get those tickets."
"Very very true." Lynn Sr agreed. "And we absolutely have no desire to move somewhere else. This is our home, like Vanzilla is our signature car."
Rita smiled and said: "Well, why not make some cookies for the kids and maybe we can talk to Luna and Lincoln on their laptops together later. Probably tomorrow. Because..." she yawned before finishing: "It's a little past midnight and it's probably noon over there in France. So the more sleep, the better we'll be."
"Right. I need some shuteye myself." Lynn Sr said before heading off to bed. Little did they know that Lola was rather awake at night, and she was quietly sneaking out of her room in the night. She needed to be very sneaky to try and get whatever she wanted to get, for the house had a strict curfew from the parents, especially on school nights.
Finally, Lola went into Luna and Luan's room without waking the joke girl up from her slumber (Whom Mister Coconuts was sleeping with). She reached under the bottom of Luan and Luna's bunk bed and got herself a nice purple book. She made a sneaky, evil smile after getting this book. Which turned out to be: Luna's own diary. Lola was dying to know the secrets since Luna won't be back until a few days, and she silently went back to her and Lana's room like a ninja. At last, when she got in her bed, she pulled out a flashlight and began reading some of Luna's juicy secrets int his nice book.
"Ooh, this is really juicy. Yeah, this is gold." Lola said. "I wonder what she is hiding from us."
Boy, Lola was being a naughty little girl tonight reaching into Luna's private thoughts that she wrote in this very journal over the days or even years. She knew that if everyone found out about this, she would be in trouble and get grounded for eavesdropping and not minding her own business. Some of these incriminating subjects in the diary were really interesting and very intriguing.
"Wow. I can't believe it." she thought to herself. "She snuck out of the house to see a Mick Swagger concert again, even though she made a promise to mom and dad not to? Wow. This is great!"
Back in France
Les Invalides was getting more interesting. Napoleon's tomb was something that the heroes will never forget for as long as they live. After taking pictures of the sarcophagus and honoring the great, military hero of France, everyone moved on to the tomb of his son: Napoleon II. "Wow, look at this, he died at 21." Lincoln said.
"Oh yes." said Sebastien. "This is Napoleon's son, Napoleon the second. he was originally supposed to rule France after his pere, but he only ruled for two weeks in his own reign." Lincoln, Luna, Jesse, and Sam were rather surprised by hearing that.
"Jeez, dude." Luna said. "That must have been weird. He could have been next in line after his dad if he died."
"He would," said Mason, "But his famous father's enemies: Britain, Russia, Austria, Spain, and the other coalition victors, refused to acknowledge that."
"Plus," said Sebastien, "He was not very popular among both France and ze rest of Europe at all. No, he was not in the same light as his own father."
"So how did he die at a young age?" asked Jesse.
"He had a severe case of pneumonia that lasted for several months, Jesse." Sebastien replied
"Geez. I wonder if more people died of pneumonia in those days than today." Sam said with slight surprise.
"I think they did." Lincoln said. "Maybe because they didn't have medicine for pneumonia in those days? I mean, I remember reading about the Bubonic plague and how it wiped out half of Europe."
"True," Luna said, "But i remember my history teacher say that: the population of Earth wasn't as big as the big, bad world today."
"Oh yeah. The black death was a very terrible plague." said Jesse. "Note to self, always be careful with wild rats so you don't get diseases. That's why i'm never a fan of rats."
"Well you want to know something interesting?" said Sebastien. The kids were more than happy to hear what the doctor had to say. "Napoleon the second actually died in Vienna since his mother was Austrian. However, Adolf Hitler, one of the most evil men in histoire, decided to bring his body back to France in the name of his honor."
"Hmm? I thought he hated France." Lincoln said
"Oh no. Quite the opposite, Lincoln. Really quite the opposite." said Mason. "One of the most evil men on the face of the earth really admired France and the cultures it has."
"That's right. In fact, when Adolf Hitler was young," said Sebastien, "He was an artiste before he became one of the most monstrous human beings we all recognize today. He took classes here in France before. Hitler had a habit of visiting opera houses in France, which interested him."
"Wow." said Luna. "I didn't know that. Hey, at least your ancestors gave Germany trouble."
Sebastien laughed and said: "Indeed, my grandfather was one of the Maquis' finest troops, and he killed thousands of Germans"
"And we could not be any more happy and proud of him, along with Charles de Gaulle himself." Mason added. "But anywho, there's Napoleon the third."
"A third one?"
"Oui." said Sebastien. "But he is not the second Napoleon's son, he was his cousin."
