Mason was back in the hospital, meeting his father, who was so relieved of making a full recovery (mostly). There was a large cast over his knee where his own brother had shot him at, and while Sebastien mostly made a full-recovery, he was still in pain. "Dad, are you ok?" Mason asked him while sitting on a chair in front of Sebastien and his hospital bed. Sebastien himself gave him a warm smile, and a proud one too.

"I'm doing alright, Mason." he replied. "Ze doctors were able to heal my wound. Although it still hurts, and feels sore. But they said it will be like that for a little while. Ah!" he felt a slight sharp pain in his knee."

The fire superhero smiled and he gently hugged his father, glad that he was going to be alright. Of course, he was careful not to touch the hurt knee so that he wouldn't get hurt more. It was like a broken leg, or a broken knee, but worse. "I'm so glad you are ok, dad." Mason said before letting go of him. "I thought I would've lost you forever." he felt like crying tears of joy knowing that he wasn't going to lose his own dad like this.

"To be fair," Sebastien chuckled, "I honestly didn't think I would live to see this day. What happened in my leg was a grievous wound. Alas, I'm doing a little better than ever before. But they also said I'm going to be in a wheelchair for a little while. Probably a few weeks, or even a month."

Mason frowned hearing that kind of news. For all he knew, that wound might leave his own father permanently crippled, and he might never walk properly again.

"What about uncle Arno?" Sebastien asked, making his own son frown in guilt. Poor Mason didn't really know how to break the news to him. He was worried that his own father would never forgive him because Arno was his younger brother after all. "How is he?"

The fire teen felt like breaking down, completely guilt-stricken. "Look dad... I didn't want to do this, but... You weren't there. He... he- he was about to kill me and my friends when my back was turned against him, and- and- I didn't want to but..." a tear escaped his right eye. "He was about to shoot me, and I... disintegrated him with my powers." The last part he said made him broke down before taking his mask off, revealing his crying face. "I didn't want to do it, but he didn't give me a choice." he turned away while crossing his arms and clenching them with his hands as if he was unusually cold. "I'm sorry dad. I'm really sorry. I know he was your brother, but... he did horrible things and-" before he could say anything further than that, he suddenly felt something warm behind him, and it was his father.

Turns out; despite him being told not to use that injured leg for a little while, Sebastien just got out of the bed and hugged his own son to make him feel better. "Look at me, Mason." he gently said. "look at me, s'il vous plait."

Reluctant, his superhero son slowly turned and embraced his father. "I didn't mean to kill him." and then he looked at his father's eyes with his own watery ones, streaming more tears. "But He shot you, and... I was just so angry at him for trying to hurt me and my friends! Please don't be mad!"

"Shhhh, it's ok, son." Sebastien soothed him. "I understand what had happened. I know he was my brother, but... I understand what kind of a monster he had become. He was... probably beyond saving if he tried to kill my own son." he bowed his head. "Truthfully," he continued, "I would say this is my fault. I never meant for any of this to happen. I should have seen how jealous my own brother became of me. I would have helped him, but... he was very secretive." he looked away. "I should have foreseen this coming a long time ago as me and him were growing up. I could have helped him myself."

"No, dad. It wasn't your fault. And I didn't mean to kill him. He was good at... keeping secrets from us. But I feel like I have done a terrible thing. I... I know it was either me or him, but..." he blubbered. "He made me."

"You had to do it if you wanted to save yourself and your friends. You saved all your lives from death. Sure, he was my brother but you did what you had to do."

"Luna said the same thing." Mason snivelled in sadness and more guilt. "I hope I'll be forgiven for what i've done. I hope you understand."

Sebastien hugged him again. "Of course I forgive you, Mason." he assured him. "I can never hate you. You are my son, and I will always love you."

Mason eased his crying a little and looked at his dad again. "I'm glad you're not mad."

"Of course I am not mad at you." Sebastien remarked. "I am only sad because my brother went down a really dark path that eventually led him to be beyond saving."

"Well, it wasn't your fault, dad." Mason said, wiping a couple of tears from his eyes. "Arno tricked all of us."

"True. Like I have said: he always wanted to be an actor before zis happened." they both stopped hugging and Sebastien sat back on the bed. "Come here, sit with me my son."

Mason did just that and took a seat. He was crying less and less. "I just want you to understand what happened. Besides, I'm sure a couple of people got it on video."

"Of course I understand. It was either you, or him. In the end, there can be only one from these kind of situations." Sebastien said. "Like Charles Darwin stated, survival of the fittest. Sometimes, there are situations where you have to kill if absolutely necessary, and ZIS is one of those situations."

his son was quiet and slightly looked away.

"And besides, remember whatbl you told me about what happened in New Orleans those years ago?"

Color Fire's eyes opened wide and remembered something horrific he saw when he was still living in Louisiana. "How can i not?" Said Mason.

"There you go. But if you prefer not to talk about it, i understand." said Sebastien.

"I don't." Mason closed his eyes. "but what would my mom and brother think?"

"Don't worry, Mason. Granted, they may be shocked, but they will perfectly understand. Have i ever lied to you?"

"No. Of course not."

"Mason?" said Luna, outside the room with Lincoln, Sam, and Jesse, looking concerned. "This is probably a bad time, is it?"

"Come on, guys." said Sam. "Why don't we leave them alone for a while?"

"Good idea, Sam " Jesse agreed with her.

"I'm sorry about this, guys." Mason wiped a few tears from his face. "But yeah, that would be good."

The four left the room, out of the sight from the father and son. "Poor Mason." said Lincoln. "It's so much for him to take in right now."

"For real." Jesse said. "I hope he'll be alright."

"That's what his dad's here for, dudes." Luna pointed. "If anyone can make him feel better if not us, that would be him."

"Right." something struck Lincoln's brain like a lightning bolt, like an idea had struck him. "You know what guys?"

"What's that, baby bro?" Luna asked, ready to listen to what Lincoln had to say.

"We should go to Lafayette's grave again and tell him that we've helped France once again."

"Ooh! I like the sound of that, little man." said Meteor. "Bring some more flowers to honor him, that sort of thing."

"If he were still alive, he would have been very proud." said Sam, "same with Charles de Gaulle."

"You can say that again." Lincoln concurred. "Heck, there should be a celebration with what we've done for France."

"And wait until my dad hears about this. I'm sure people have got us on video."

"no doubt about that, Jess." said Luna. "the chief would be very proud. Or maybe we can get citizenship for this country like the French Foreign Legion."

"That would be even better." Lincoln smiled. "That way, we can always come here without any trouble, like if there was anything going wrong. I always wanted to be a citizen to another country."

"Yeah, it's quite a privilege." Sam remarked. "And we should make our last days here in Paris memorable. Something totally worth going in our memory book."

"We've gotten a few group photos here. I winder if there will be fireworks."

"Let's hope, Lincoln. we can all hope."

"Guys?" Mason came out of the hospital room. "Sorry about this. You can all come in now."

His friends smiled. "Awesome!" Luna said. She and the other heroes entered the hospital room to see Sebastien. "Are you doing OK, Sebastien?" the frosty hero asked

"My knee is a little sore, but I will pull through." said the professor. He looked at Lincoln, still in his Ace Savvy suit, and taking his eye mask of, revealing his naked face. "Ah, Ace Savvy." Said the professor with a smile. "I recognize that kind of super suit anywhere."

"Lincoln saved us from being killed from Arno, dad." said Mason, side-hugging him as if he was his big brother. "You, and your big ideas, Lincoln." he chuckled.

"He's one of a kind." Jesse gently punched his arm. "It was a clever idea for him to call the president of France and send his soldiers to help us."

"That's my baby bro for you." Luna winked at Lincoln

"Yeah, he is a real hero." Sam gently ruffled his white hair, accidentally electrocution him. "Oops! sorry."

"Nah, don't worry about it, Sam." Lincoln smirked.
