Luna was crying on the couch, realizing that she really messed up big time. Mason, himself feeling very very guilty, and sad about losing a friend like this. "I am so stupid." Luna cried to herself. "What have I done?"
"I can't believe it." Mason added. He wasn't crying but he was sad as well and wanted to cry. He didn't mean to cause this, and he blamed it on himself.
Lincoln went downstairs and he noticed that Luna and Mason were not in their usual, happy selves. "Oh. Did I miss anything?" he asked. "I should, probably go." he was about to walk away to another room, but he was stopped.
"No, no it's fine, bro." Luna said, lifting her head up. Her eyes were leaking tears with mascara mixed with the drops, like Lori and Leni would have around their eyes, and she wouldn't normally have that on her face.
"What's wrong, Luna? what happened?" he went up to her.
"It's nothing, dude." Luna said, sitting up and hugging the right pillow.
"But, you said i can tell you anything if something's wrong. Why not tell me what's bothering you-"
"I said it's nothing!" Luna snapped, looking angry with tears still streaming down her face in despair.
Lincoln was shocked and surprised by that outburst.
"I'm sorry. I'll just leave you alone." he was about to get off the couch, but he was stopped again by his big sister.
"no! I'm sorry." Luna gently placed a gloveless arm on Lincoln's left arm. "I'm really sorry I snapped at you, baby bro."
"Look, please tell me what's wrong." Lincoln urged him.
"I lost my head, Linc. I really lost my mind."
"What are you talking about?"
"What she means is..." Mason said. "Me and Luna did something so stupid that you would be apalled, Lincoln."
"What do you mean?"
"Me and Mason just kissed."
"Kissed?" said Lincoln. "But i thought you were dating Sam?"
"I know!" Luna buried her head in the pillow as she was crying some more.
"Sam saw us making out on the couch and, we didn't know what came over us." Mason added. "Our faces were in front of one another and we just lost our minds."
"You guys... fell in love?" asked Lincolm in realization
"Yes." Luna admitted. "I mean, i fell in love with him. OK? i didn't mean to betray Sam like that. It just... it just happened." she looked away in shame.
Mason was a little surprised and said: "I didn't really know you felt that way about me, Luna."
The rocker girl decided to calm down a little hit and wiped her nose with an arm. "Yes. I admit it. I ain't to broad to confess, but I have... feelings for ya, ok? I admit it. You are my disease. You infect me with your kindness."
Mason looked touched but he said: "look, Luna, I'm sorry. i didn't know what came over me either. I didn't want to come between you and Sam like this."
"Wow." Lincoln admitted. "This is... so much to take in right now." he himself looked away."
"You can say that again, dude." Luna blew her nose.
"And she saw you guys kissing?"
"Uh-huh. But my heart belongs to Sam. Me and her belong together." Luna said, wiping more tears from his face. "But I think I lost her forever. So, here i go again on my own. Maybe I was born to walk alone."
"Don't say that, Luna." Lincoln said. "Look, you made a mistake and you guys let your emotions get the better of you. We all make mistakes."
"Yes, but this is like... an ultimate betrayal of trust." Mason said. "We hurt Sam in the worst way possible: right in her own heart."
Young Lincoln was obviously lost in words and didn't know what else to say about this situation. He thought to himself: if this was probably a good idea to stay out of these affairs, but this is his sister thay was suffering from a broken heart.
"Look," he said at last. "i know love can make people do crazy things. But, i'm... disappointed with how you guys just... kissed each other. I didn't think it would happen like this."
"I know." Luna sniffed. "I feel dirty. Dirtier than a cow pie. But, I guess we're even now."
"What do you mean?" asked a rather confused Lincoln.
"Remember when i said u wws disappointed in you when you disobeyed me for saving us in Paris?"
"Yeah."
"Well, you said you're disappointed in me for losing my marbles in front of Sam likw that."
Realizing what she meant, Lincoln was disappointed that Luna would kinda... step out on her girlfriend lile that, even if she didn't mean to. "Look, you can fix this. I might not know Sam as much as you do, but I know how laid-back and easy-going she is." he got off the couch and stood up, sounding like he had in idea.
"What do you think I should do?" Luna asked
"What should we do, Luna. I had a hand in this too." Mason admitted, coming up to Lincoln.
"Well, why not give her the greatest kind of apology you can give her. something very sweet and well-meaning to her." Lincoln suggested.
Luna stopped crying for a moment and Mason put a comforting hand on her shoulder. "Well, maybe I can write a song to her to show how sorry I am."
"Yeah, that's not a bad idea, Luna." Mason said. "Or if you want to do it solo, that's fine too."
"But, what if it doesn't work?"
"Maybe... we should give her some alone time.' Lincoln thought of a plan B. "I can imagine how hurt Sam is right now."
"True." Luna said. "Let's leave her alone and... maybe in a little while, we can talk to her."
"Bonne Idee. (Good idea)." Mason smiled.
Sam was walking in the snow at the park, and she never felt so hurt and betrayed like that before. All she wanted was to be alone right now, and sat on a bench.
She didn't care how cold she was, and she was sobbing to herself as she clenched her hands around her elbows.
"I thought she loved me." Sam said, looking over the snowy horizon. "I am so confused."
