Lincoln couldn't stop thinking a out the beautiful girl he met as he was in front of Clyde's house, ready to knock on the door of his best friends' place. Jenny LaRue looked like an interesting case to him.
He didn't want to just jump to conclusions and decided to try and get to know her first when he had the free time to do so.
It wasn't a very common thing for someone to move to Michigan from Maine. Of course, Michigan was a far more populated state and it meant more job opportunities for Jenny's parents.
Jenny seemed like a really nice girl and it made Lincoln think of his past girlfriends. Ronnie Anne, unfortunately, is in Great Lakes city, which was like three hours away from Royal Woods, and Stella is just a good friend to him abd said she wasn't interested.
Lincoln knocked on the door anyway and waited for an answer. At last, Clyde's two fathers: Harold and Howard McBride, came out to warmly greet the white-haired boy.
"Ah Lincoln." said Howard
"What a pleasant surprise." Harold added. "Do come in. Would you like some cocoa?"
"Please. That would be nice, Mr. McBride." Lincoln smiled gratefully before setting foot inside the McBride residence. It felt so nice, warm, and cozy inside this house and these people knew how to live, that's for sure.
They were obviously a little richer than the Loud family since the parents only have one kid and they have their own massage chairs. He was given a nice cup of hot chocolate with those little marshmallows in them.
After all, who doesn't like Marshmallows in their cocoa? Of course, it was still a little too hot to gulp sips down his throat, and he had to wait for it to cool down so he wouldn't have to burn his tongue, or his larynx.
"Clyde is right in the living room if you are going to help him install that new game console." said Harold before giving a small frown. "But i hope he doesn't get himself glued to the TV playing it for too long. It can ruin a person's eyes if he stares at it for a long time."
"Oh come on." said Lincoln with doubt. "I'. sure Clyde's knows that. i mean, look at you guy. You always make sure he's safe and makes sure he gets the right medicine to help him. You guys raised him well."
Both the McBride fathers were glad to hear that. "Well, guilty as charged." said Harold
"Yes. We both make sure the well-being of our son comes first." Howard added. "Like any other good parent in the world." Lincoln smiled before heading to the living room to help his best friend out with installing the console for him to play.
"There you are, buddy." said Clyde, always happy to see his own best friend. "I could really use the extra help with this baby. This is supposed to be the next new console of the decade!"
"Right?" Lincoln agreed with him. Both boys started in trying to put the console pieces together and it was a little more difficult than expected. Alas, gaming was one of the boys' specialities. They did manage to put it together, and tested it out to see if it worked by turning it on; which it did. Both boys cheered at the success and hugged one another. "Yeah baby!" they both cheered while high-fiving. "Clincoln McCloud forever!"
"Thank you so much, Lincoln." Clyde said.
"No problem. Anything for my best friend." Lincoln said. "So what game should we play?"
"Well, I was thinking that game with the... key sword."
"Ooh, that's a good one. And all the Dairyland and Walt Donkey characters." Lincoln remembered. "Conquest Brains!"
"That's the one!" Clyde remembered the title. "And... maybe when you're not so busy fighting crime with your sister, we can play it later."
"Actually... there's not a lot of crime happening right now." said Lincoln. "Ae can play it right now."
"Yay!" They both played a little of Conquest Brains on the new console, and they were having fun with it. Little did they know that it they were playing it for three hours already, and they didn't even notice it. Games can be quite addicting for many kind of people and Lincoln was greeted by Luna, coming in the house to see where he was.
"There you are dude!" Luna said. "What have you been doing all this time?"
"Oh Luna! I'm sorry. I was just hooked up on this video game after helping Clyde out." her brother looked a little embarrassed. "Sorry for not telling you."
Luna made a small smile before saying: "It's cool. Did you have fun at least?"
"I did."
"Well, I need your help restringing my ice guitar dude." Luna remarked
"Oh. OK. Sure." he looked at his best friend. "Sorry to cut this short Clyde. We'll play another time."
"Sure Lincoln." Clyde smiled.
"Would you like some hot cocoa, Luna?" Harold offered.
"Ooh, yeah. Me likey a latte." said Luna. She found herself drinking some hot cocoa with her brother, whom she noticed was a little out of place in his mind, like he was daydreaming of some kind as he was looking up on the ceiling. She took another sip of her cocoa before asking: "You ok? You look a little distracted, dude."
"Oh! Sorry Luna." said Lincoln. "On the way here, I met this beautiful new girl that just moved here from Maine. She looks like my age and she's gonna go to my school when they open again."
Luna made a gasp, and realized that her little brother might have another chance to find love once again. "Really? That's awesome, bro! How did you guys meet?"
"I slipped on ice and accidentally crashed on her." Lincoln admittedly, looking quite embarrassed. "God, I'm so clumsy."
"Don't sweat it, accidents happen."
"you're not as clumsy as me." Clyde admitted.
