Discovering my strength

Chapter 4

I saw Rebekah smile as I left the cab, and she took my small holdall from me as she muttered "You are not to be carrying anymore luggage, Hadrian, I am here to look after you completely and your immediate needs, you are my great nephew and I will not have you ignoring your own needs and wants anymore, is that understood?"

I flinched at her tone of voice and Rebekah grimaced at her own lack of foresight and tact "I raised your cousin Hope for six months and I never expected a fourteen-year-old teenager to have to look after his own needs, may I have a hug" she asked with watery eyes. "Great nephew" I threw myself into her arms. I was going to be home with my real family soon, it was a revelation to me, to feel loved.

"Let's get onto our flight. Have you got your flight ticket ready?" I nodded not trusting myself to speak.

We ran to the check-in gate. Rebekah in human speeds. She grabbed my ticket and asked for an upgrade to business class and then compelled the check-in girl to do that immediately. "Yes Sir, Madam, I'll do the upgrade here" she said in a monotone voice. "That's done, Have a nice flight"

I almost choked on my laughter through security and Rebekah smirked as she looked at me from the peripheral.

As we headed to a cafe in the exclusive lounge, I heard the crack of Apparition and saw a furious and terrifying Albus Dumbledore make a beeline straight towards myself, but Rebekah was quicker and grabbed his throat "Rebekah, don't kill him?"

"He isn't worth a murder charge" I pleaded to her better self. She huffed and slowly put him back on his feet. But then as I backed away, she grabbed his god-awful purple suit and tie, looked in his eyes and compelled him "You will forget Harry James Potter and regret ever abducting him from the originals and his parents. You will wallow in self-pity and self-loathing until you die of natural causes."

"Auntie Rebekah, he is powerless now, he won't come after me again"

A few tears slipped down her face "I just made sure of that, little Hadrian"

I saw the security guards cuff Dumbledore as he protested "I know that boy, he is so familiar, I wouldn't have hurt him! Let go of me, you are all filthy muggles!" Albus yowled as he was dragged back through Security.

"Hey Kid, are you alright?" One of the guards asked. I nodded but I wanted to throw up and I suddenly did. Retched right on the airport floor and Rebekah was rubbing my back "He's okay, but he was being stalked by that nutcase of an old buzzard, it's really taken its toll on him. Do you have a bathroom so he can freshen up a bit?"

"Sure thing, Ms Mikaelson, it's that door on the left, I'll make sure it's empty for the kid" Rebekah smiled

"Thanks for the help, Mr Owen"

"No worries, I hate seeing kids in distress"

"So does my husband" Rebekah replied and smiled faintly seeing that this man

was honest and kind, like her Marcellus.

Harry sat on the seat outside the boarding gate and Rebekah was checking her phone. "Hadrian, do you need more water or are you feeling better now?" I smiled and said I was better now "You sure, you still look a bit green around the gills"

"Could I have a yogurt and some fruit please?" Rebekah smiled and went to the lounge buffet, two minutes later, she came back with a banana, satsuma, apple, and a large pot of toffee pecan Greek yogurt. I assume to replace the sugars and salts I had lost from throwing up earlier. Also, she brought back a bottle of soda-water to replace the Electre-Lytes. "Here you go, I want you to at least eat half of that before we fly"

"Yes Mam" I grinned and chomped away happily at the apple as Rebekah checked her phone. "Aah, your dad has been busy, he registered your details with Doctor Meredith Fell, a doctor at Mystic Falls clinic, your mother registered you with a dentist. And don't panic, but you have an appointment with a child Psychologist Camille O' Connell, ten sessions at least, it's all paid for by your dad"

"Oh, seven hells, I didn't want to be psycho-analysed?" I groaned

"Hadrian, I want you to listen to me very carefully, you need help, it's okay not to

be okay, you were thrown into one obstacle or another at that death-trap of a

School, to be celebrated then vilified one year to the next. That is not okay with

me or any of your family. You were and still are masking your problems and the

damage it has caused you can sometimes be irreparable and devastating."

I nodded slowly

"Good now, they are announcing our flight to Virginia shortly, are you ready for

your first ever flight?" I smiled "I think I am"
