The heroes looked all over the city for Ronnie Anne, but no one had seen the poor girl, wherever she was. Alas, they had to give up the search for now as if it was fruitless and they had to look for her another day. At home, it was just about bedtime, and Luna was worried about Ronnie Anne as much as Lincoln was, for she was his second best friend; only behind Clyde. Sadly brushing his teeth, Lincoln was still wondering where she was, or if he'll ever find her at all.
Alas, there was nothing he can do right now, but hope for the best for Ronnie.
Most of the siblings had their lights out, and the only ones awake now were Lincoln, Luna, Lisa, Lori, and Leni. Lincoln yawned and realized that he will find her one of these days. He might find her tomorrow, or the day after that, or the day after that. There would be no way of knowing for sure, but he knows he will find her. He laid in his bed and looked at the ceiling for any solutions on how to find his own friend. Alas, he was getting too tired to think of anything anymore and he just wanted to get through the night.
Luna couldn't help but set foot inside his room and hovered his head above him. "Bro? you ok?"
Sighing, Lincoln replied: "I'm fine, Luna. I'm just worried about Ronnie Anne."
"Don't worry. we'll find her. So come on, sit up so I can sit with ya."
He didn't want to, but Lincoln reluctantly agreed and sat on his butt. After that, Luna sat next to him. "You need some water?"
"Yeah, that would be good." Lincoln remarked
Luna smiled and said: "cool. So we'll keep searching for her tomorrow and see what we can do."
"Thanks, Luna." Lincoln gave a slight smile. "I just want to know what happened to her and why this happened."
"Trust me, you're not the only one thinking that stuff. Me, Mason, Yakov, Sam, and Jesse are thinking the same thing."
"I know that Luna."
Luna then went to get Lincoln a nice cup of water for the night. Deep down, Lincoln wondered if Ronnie Anne was feeling alone and hurt right now. "What did I do wrong to let this happen?"
Luna came upstairs and got him some water. "Look, you better get some sleep. You're gonna need your strength tomorrow."
"OK." Lincoln nodded his head before tucking himself in. "Bonne nuit."
"Bonne nuit aussi, Lincoln." Luna gave jim a tender kiss on the forehead before leaving the room and turning the light off.
An hour later, Lincoln was asleep and was dreaming of finding Ronnie Anne, safe and sound, and everyone living happily ever after. Yes, he was dreaming good dreams until about two in the morning when he heard Clyde call him on his walkie-talkie.
Lincoln awoke, startled and sounded groggy. "Lincoln? Lincoln! are you there?"
Looking tired, Lincoln grabbed his device and asked in a groggy voice, "Clyde, what's going on? it's Two in the morning?"
"Sorry to bother you, Lincoln, but there's a kind of flying monster rampaging near where I live."
"What?" Lincoln sounded surprised and said: "What does it look like?" he was trying to keep his voice as low as possible so he wouldn't wake everyone up.
"It's... like a demon or a bat, or a bat demon of some kind. Or... like a mothman." Clyde answered. "Someone's gotta do something."
"Shh. calm down Clyde. And not so loud, you're gonna wake my family up."
"Sorry buddy. But he's gonna cause more damage if someone doesn't do something to stop it."
"I'll go take a look." Lincoln said. "Just sit tight." he got his trunk under his bed and pulled out his French Chatellerault gun, cooking it slowly and loading it with the right amount of bullets.
He quietly got out of his room and slowly creaked open the front door, outside under the waning moon shining on the surface. He walked a few steps near the curb and looked at the sky to look for this bat monster.
Three long seconds passed, and thing, a horrible screeching was heard, and swooping down next to Lincoln, like a falcon or a hawk swooping down to catch it's prey, but missed.
"Whoa!" Lincoln exclaimed. He got a closer look at the monster and there was the many sounds of people screaming and a small glimpse of something glowing many miles from where he was standing, like a fire burning from the distance as if something exploded.
Lincoln got a closer look at the beast under the moon and this creature did look like a bat, or a were-bat with wings and large ears.
"what the?" Lincoln said. The fur and skin of this monster looked black as obsidian or jet on it and it was ready to swoop down on Lincoln, but Lincoln dodged and tried shooting it down with his gun, but the monster was faster than he anticipated and Lincoln missed every bullet on the beast.
"Darn it!" he cursed at himself. He continued trying to fire on it but to no avail.
The lights in the Loud house came on and everyone in the family woke up. "What the heck is going on here!" said Lynn Sr.
Luna rushed out and said: "Lincoln, what is going- whoa!" she got a glimpse of the bat monster and tried to freeze it with her powers, and it got the creatur's left wing, making it fall on the ground with a loud thump like a small meteorite had hit it from outer space.
"Can someone tell me what is going on here right now?" Luna said.
"I have no idea." Lincoln admitted. "It just attacked and came out of nowhere."
"Is it dead?" asked Luna.
"I... I don't know."
suddenly, the bat creature got up and managed to shake the ice off it's wings before giving out a roar of anger in the sky. "Uh-oh. This is so not good." Luna said, readying her ice powers again. The bat thing suddenly charged at Lincoln, but the boy fired his gun at the beast, making it shriek and screech as the many bullets were being lodged into it's skin, and it immediately flew away in a frantic hurry.
"What is that thing?" asked Lincoln
"That's what I wanna know dude." Luna panted. "But it ain't getting away. The bullets didn't really seem to have some effect on the monster and the beast was flying normally like any other bat, flapping its wings and soaring into the full moon. Luna created another ice slide to catch it, and tried to freeze one of its wings with an ice beam, but the bat thing shook the ice off it like it was just snow. To Luna's astonishment, the bat charged at Luna, making her almost lose her balance. Despite how powerful and forceful it was, Luna created another ice slide to catch up to it.
The beast swooped down on Lincoln like a harbinger and picked him up with its talons, making the boy drop his gun, and the family gasp in shock. "Lincoln!" the rest of the family shrieked. Lynn swiftly grasped the gun, and tried shooting down the monster herself, but the bat was smarter than everyone though. It dodged every bullet by doing barrel rolls, and doing loops like an airplane run by a fancy pilot. "Darn it!" Lynn said. "It's out of ammo!"
"Bro!" Luna shrieked at seeing her brother being captive by this... thing. She grew so enraged and tried to blast the bat into oblivion by using both her hands to increase her power into a large wave of ice and froze the large beast completely. She was careful enough to not freeze Lincoln, and not aim her hands low enough to freeze him too, and before he knew it; Lincoln was falling fast into the sky, yelling as he was just about to hit the ground in a painful manner.
Before he could hit the ground, Lincoln felt Luna catch him in a swift swipe and held him in her arms. "I got you, Linc."
"Whew, thanks Luna."
"Don't mention it. You ok?"
"Yeah. Thanks to you.
The bat broke free of the ice however, and flew off in a frantic retreat. "Jeez, that was really freaky."
"Right? I don't know what that thing is. But it can't be good."
The police arrived a few minutes later, and it turns out, not only Clyde and his dads were under siege from the bat creature, but several others in the neighborhood were attacked by it. "Is everyone ok?" asked Duncan.
"Just fine. But we have no idea where that bat monster came from."
Lucy made an excited gasp, and said: "Is it a vampire? Because It's my dream."
"Lucy!" the family members scolded
"Sorry."
