The Prince was throwing some bombs at the heroes, but they would all be frozen by Luna's ice blasts, discharged by Sam's electric shock waves, melted by Mason's fire, and exploded into oncoming rocks by Jesse with his rock powers. When Yakov was having some bombs thrown at him, he would just throw them aside or kick them aside as if they were soccer balls. Jenny used her fast speed to throw so many snowballs at Prince from the ground to try and knock out the pompous supervillain. Alas, it only distracted him for a brief period of time. As more of his bombs were being destroyed and dodged by the heroes, Lincoln managed to fire his machine gun at one of the engine turbines of Prince' glider and make the turbine stop from all the bullets being lodged.
As soon as Prince of Pop felt it, he saw that his glider was about to malfunction and instead of looking very scared at first; he had an annoyed look on his face and said to himself in a flat voice: "Oh no. That is so not good." then he felt the full force of his glider fly out of control and he was screaming as the thing was spiraling in a crazy matter, like a plane that just ran out of full while in flight.
Lincoln shouted in triumph as he got the glider without the villain even knowing or at least while Prince of Pop was distracted focusing on the heroes with super powers. It comes to show: never underestimate a superhero that doesn't have any superpowers on him (or her). "Nice thinking, Lincoln!" said Luna, cheering at her little bro. Prince was still spiraling out of control on his glider, and ultimately, when he was closer to the ground, he thought he would be safe, but he crashed on the roof of a nearby car, knocked out cold from the impact. Once again, he was stopped by the heroes of Royal Woods, and it didn't take long for the police, led by Chief Duncan himself, to take him away and confiscate the villain's glider and weapons he possessed. Yes, some people just never learn, and Prince of Pop is one of those kinds of people.
Duncan got several officers to detain and subdue Prince and confined him to a bed with straps as if he was going to a funny farm for some mental rehabilitation or some therapy to cure his crazy. The chief smiled at the heroes for their usual good work, and walked up to them. "Thank y'all so much for saving the day guys. You have done it again."
"All in the days work, chief." said Luna boldly.
Lincoln couldn't help but ask Jesse's father, "So chief, have you... found Ronnie Anne yet?"
"Sorry Lincoln." Duncan sighed before kneeling on one knee to try and console him. "We're tryin' everything we can to find her. The Great Lakes city police department still hasn't seen her yet." The boy frowned at hearing those words, even though he expected the chief to give him this kind of answer anyway. Duncan tried to cheer him up and added: "Look, i'm sure we'll find her."
"Good." Lincoln tried to smile.
"So good job as usual everyone." he turned to his squad. "Men, make sure he stays strapped and if he tries any funny business, tase him."
"Yes sir." said the other officers restraining the unconscious Prince and hauling him away to an armored truck to be hauled all the way to jail.
"I say he needs some therapy or a psychiatrist." Yakov commented
"Like a shrink." Jenny added.
"We can certainly try." said Duncan. "Might not help him, but we can definitely give him some kind of help for his mental state. Although you can't some people that their hair's on fire, no matter how much it's burning."
"What do you mean?" asked Jesse
"He means you can't save everyone, mentally or physically." Sam pointed
"Oh. Right. That makes sense. If they do cure him from being evil, then it would be one less bad guy to worry about." Jesse said. "We can only hope."
"All of us can hope." said Mason.
"Well Lincoln, we'll continue our search to find your friend. Just assume the best for her and that she'll be alright." Duncan reassured the white-haired boy again. "Just leave it to us and we'll be sure to find her. After all, you guys still need to find where that bat monster who attacked last night came from."
"Good point, sir." said Luna. "That thing did come out of nowhere, like in the still of the night." she looked at the sky and added: "We'll take a look tonight and see if we can stop it. And... we might have a feeling it's Wernicke. Or what's left of that evil company. What if they still have influence?"
"Not to worry, Luna." said Duncan, "We'll question those corrupt monster about it, and give them a lie detector test. Or, we can ask Lisa since... polygraphs are not always right."
"Good point." said Lincoln. "I just want them to tell the truth if they are hiding something."
"We have ways of making people talk. Not saying we do cruel and usual punishment on our prisoners." Duncan pointed. "In the meantime, just keep on making this city and the United States a better place." the chief made a gun gesture to the heroes. "Take care."
He and the other officers got in their cars and drove off to look for clues about Ronnie Anne's whereabouts.
Lincoln was reloading his weapon with more bullets in a new cartridge after using up his old one.
Suddenly, Luna's phone rang. "Hey... oh hey Jackal what's hanging?" Luna said. "Oh, you wanna talk to us at your place? Sure, we'll be over there. Wait, all of us?... Got it." then she hung up. "Well guys the richest man in the city wants to chat with us."
"Are we in trouble?" asked Jesse.
"No." said Luna.
"If we were in trouble then he would probably send some of his security forces after us."
"That's a good point." Mason said. "Many rich people in movies do that to people they don't like, especially mobsters or mob bosses."
"Who's the Jackal?" asked Jenny
"The richest man in Royal Woods." said Yakov.
"He's a guy who works like a police officer or an agent of some kind, like he's in the FBI." Mason pointed. "He's very rich and he has many things many people around her don't."
"He also gives out jobs to us to take down bad guys in his own favor and he pays us some of his dough as a reward." said Jesse.
"Jackal is an ally to us." said Lincoln. "As far as we are aware of."
"Maybe as long as we stay on his good side, then yeah." Sam remarked. "He kinda reminds me of the Sicilian mob a little once you think about it."
"Huh. So it's like bounty hunting jobs or mercenary jobs?"
"Pretty much everything." said Yakov. "And I get big bucks from him doing jobs taking down villains. I even got myself some renovations for my house thanks to him."
It felt rather nice to be in the presence of this mysterious do-gooder again. Rupert the chow chow was happy to see everyone, wagging his curly, fluffy tail in happiness, and giving out a few small barks while panting his purple tongue.
They all had a seat with Lincoln, Luna, Mason, and Sam sitting on a sofa, Yakov just sitting on the floor, Jenny sitting on a stool and Jesse sitting in a chair.
"It's so nice to see you all again." said Jackal. He looked at Jenny. "One of the reasons why I called you here is to know you, little lady."
"Call me Lightspeed." said Jenny. "The newest edition to the superheroes of Royal Woods."
"A pleasure to meet you, Lightspeed." Jackal smiled. "And for the second matter, I hear you all have a little problem looking for someone."
"Well... yeah." Lincoln admitted. "Her name is Ronnie Anne Santiago. She's a good friend of mine and she's gone missing. I don't know where she is."
"I see." Jackal said flatly. "I think I can help you with this."
The heroes got a look of hope on their faces in hopefully finding her. "Here, I have a source that got a picture of Ronnie from one of her friends from the police."
"Wait, Chief Duncan gave thay to you?" asked Luna
"Yes. Normally, we don't see eye-to-eye, but since you are friends to both of us, we decided to settle a compromise. For that, you have my word to help you."
"Thank you so much!" said Lincoln.
