The big question about the current situation was: was this bat beast down? Or was this possibly just a ruse to trick the heroes to let their guard down? This net seemed to have been holding this monster down, as if it was made out of pure hot steel.

'Is it down?" asked Snowball. "I can't tell if it's dead or not."

'There is only one way to find out for sure." said Mason.

Jesse was the one to slowly come up to the trapped monster and take a closer look at it. It didn't stir, telling everyone that it was, indeed, unconscious.

"Looks like we're in the clear, y'all." Jesse noted. "It is down." he touched it's humanpid arm. "And I can feel its pulse, so it's still alive."

"Then we can bring him in for interrogation." Yakov said.

"We should at least be extra careful with that monster. It could break free of the net if it wakes back up." said Sam

"Nonsense!" said Lisa. "My ecto-net is as powerful as plasma. Not even a full-grown white rhinoceros or an African bush elephant bull would be able to break free of it. Have any of my intentions gone wrong before?"

Lincoln and Luna looked at her, looking unamused, and Luna said: "Remember the lie detectors you put all over the house one time, dude? It almost drove us crazy!"

"Or the time you tried to mix liquids that cause explosions in the house?" Lincoln added.

Lisa just made a small growl in reply.

"Or the time you created a hair potion for Lola, but ultimately made her lose all her hair like chemotherapy." said Snowball.

"How do you know about that?" asked Lisa.

"Luna and Lincoln told me of course." the pig replied.

Lisa looked at her two siblings. "Will you please stop telling him these affairs please? It's very degrading."

"Just be glad Stephen Hawking isn't here to notice that stuff."

The prodigy felt like shedding a tear from her eyes hearing that name. Good ole Stephen Hawking was a very important person to her, and deeply wished he was still alive.

"Come on, let's get back on track." said Mason. "Maybe we can get a DNA sample from this thing and see who it is."

"Good idea." Sam agreed.

"Luckily for me," said Lisa, "I have the proper needles for that kind of research." she pulled out a booster and was ready to sample some blood from the bat thing in excitement. "Ooh this is truly remarkable."

"Careful, Lisa." said Snowball. "You did say overconfidence can get you killed if you are not careful."

"I am being perfectly careful. I am a trained professional... well, not trained but a professional either way." she slowly walked over to the beast and before she can poke the needle in its furry skin, the thing woke up with his eyes flashing like flames or beacons from a lighthouse.

The next thing the heroes remembered was: the thing squirming around so much in the net like a rabid animal squirming in pain from rabies, trying to break free.

Sam tried electrocuting it with her powers over and over again until it was unconscious.

At last, having enough of this, the bat monster broke free of the net, making Lisa's jaw dropped in disbelief. Growling, it looked at Lincoln again, and tried picking him up with its talons as if he was a mouse.

Jenny gasped and said: "Lincoln look out!" and she pushed him out of the way, making the thing take her away instead, flying off into the night sky with its captive.

"Jenny!" Lincoln screamed. A great rage built up in him now, and he cocked his gun, shooting it's left wing.

screeching in pain, it forced the thing to let go of Jenny, but Mason flew over to catch her just in time. "Whew! thanks Mason."

Color Fire smiled gratefully. "No problem."

"Wait, Lincoln!" said Jenny before rushing to her new boyfriend's aid to save him. "I'm coming, Lincoln!

She got an idea and said to Steel Soldier: "Yakov! quick, throw me at the beast!"

"Are you sure? said Yakov

"Just do it!"

Yakov did as she told him and he threw her with a powerful throw at the monster. If he was at the Olympics, he would for sure win a gold medal for javelin thrower (if they would allow him to be in the Olympics--probably not because it would be considered cheating with his mostly mechanical body).

Jenny got herself on the back of the bat as Yakov was before and began punching the beast in the face after climbing on its nose. It wasn't working so Jenny thought of another idea: biting on part of its face so hard, it forced it to let Lincoln go.

Mason flew over to catch Jenny, and Luna, on her ice slide, caught her brother before falling to the ground. "Gotcha!" said Luna triumphantly. "You ok?"

"Yep. Thanks to Jenny... and you."

Chuckling a little bit, Luna remarked: "Obviously."

She landed on the ground and Mason after. They then watched the monster soar in the night sky, flapping its wings and roaring in frustration. "That monster got away again." said Mason.

"Dang!" Jesse cursed at himself. "I thought this was going to work!"

"I know." Snowball agreed. "It was supposed to be foolproof." he kicked the snowy ground with his right hoof in frustration.

"How can this be?" asked Lisa. "I had everything planned out. It just fell apart like diamonds turning to sand."

"You could have got a bigger net, stupid." Lynn said

"Lynn!" Rita said. "It wasn't her fault. That thing is probably stronger than we thought."

"Literally no kidding." said Lori. "We'll be lucky if that ugly thing has Ronnie Anne hostage. Otherwise, we would kill it immediately."

"That thing is probably someone who transformed against his or her will." said Lana. "Like a were-bat like Lincoln said."

"Look, it's not the end of the world." said Lynn Sr. "We just have to come up with something smarter and more crafty."

"Well I have never felt so ashamed and humiliated." Lisa bowed her head.

"Don't be." said Lola. "You tried."

"Yes. We did." Snowball sighed.
