Chapter 7
"Ok, how this will work is, come put your name up and when I call you, you can give me the name of the song, but if it's a duet, I will pick a partner for you. It would most likely be the next person in line after you. So, with further ado, let's get started. First up we have Teddy Altman-Robbins. Come on up here Teddy. You will be the first to start us off." The D.J announces
"Woohoo Teddy. You got this babe." Tim shouted as Teddy made her way to the front. She leaned over, giving the D.J her song, then turns back to the crowd.
"This song here, I'm dedicating to the most amazing man, whom I now call my husband. We've been together since my freshman year of high school. What's funny is that no one ever thought that we would make it. My parents always thought that it was puppy love, but it wasn't. Only one who really believed in us was my best friend, who I now call my sister-in-law. Yes, we may have had our ups and downs, but we always found a way to get through it. So, Tim, this one is for you." Teddy says. After her little speech, the D.J played the song.
"Looks like we made it Look how far we've come, my baby We might have took the long way We knew we'd get there someday..."
"God, Teddy's voice is amazing." I try saying to Tim. Obviously he didn't hear me. He was so caught up in Teddy's voice. Which I can't blame him, her voice is amazing.
"They said, "I bet they'll never make it" But just look at us holding on We're still together, still going strong...You're still the one I run to The one that I belong to You're still the one I want for life (You're still the one) You're still the one that I love The only one I dream of You're still the one I kiss goodnight. Ain't nothin' better We beat the odds together I'm glad we didn't listen. Look at what we would be missin….."
When Teddy's song finally came to an end, whole bar started cheering for her. She really did do an amazing job. She placed the mic back on the stand and walked back to join us at our table with a huge grin on her face.
"Babe, that was amazing. Thank you." Tim says standing up, then placing a kiss on his new wife's lips."
"Thank you, Teddy. Alright, next we have Tim. Come on up, Tim," The D.J announced.
"Be right back sweet cheeks." He says to Teddy, then walked up to the front.
"Somebody gag me already." I say with an eye roll. Teddy turned and looked at me.
"What?" I say to her, giggling.
After about few minutes, Tim's turn came to an end.
"Alright, thank you, Tim. Very Nicely done. Ok, next we have...Arizona," D.J calls out my name. I made my way to the stage and gave him the song I want to sing. Even though I don't have anyone special in my life, I still went with a love song that I heard a while back.
"So, Since Arizona here chose a duet, we're going to have Callie Torres come up as well. Come on up here, Callie."
"Alright, Arizona, I'll start the song here in just a few. We're just waiting for your partner to get up here." He says to me. A minute later, the most beautiful woman that I have laid eyes on joins me on stage. As she was walking up, I could see that she has the most beautiful chocolate brown eyes, and her gorgeous hair is black fell just past her shoulders. My eyes travel from her angelic face to her body. She's wearing a pair of loose black jeans and what looks to be a cut off shirt under a leather jacket. My eyes travel back up to her face and I couldn't help but give her a weak smile, which she returns.
"Hey," I say to her.
"Hey." Answers back.
"Looks like you're my partner for the night." I tell her.
"Lucky you." She replies, giving me a bigger smile. Right then and there, I thought I was going to faint. Her smile was out of this world. Great! Now that's all I'm going to think about while we're singing together and those beautiful brown eyes.
"Okay, are you two ready?" Asks the D.J.
I gave him a nod to confirm that we are already.
As the music starts to play, I can see Callie tense up. Her posture had changed a little bit. Which tells me, she doesn't do this very often. She then leans over and whispers in my ear, "Bear with me, I get stage fright."
"No worries. It's a piece of cake, you'll be ok." I tell her, giving her the best encouragement as a I can.
As the song starts to play, I let out a deep breath and shift my posture to get ready to start my part. Seeing the words pop up on the screen, the words began to highlight as I begin..."A fire burns, Water calms You cool me down When I'm cold inside You are warm and bright You know you are so good for me With your child's eyes You are more than you seem You see into space I see in your face The places you've been The things you have learned They sit with you so beautifully..." I sang.
After a slight break, Callie starts her part...You know there's no need to hide away You know I tell the truth We are just the same I can feel everything you do Hear everything you say Even when you're miles away 'Coz I am me the universe and you,...
God her voice. It's so magical. I could get used to hearing her voice every day. I try to focus on the song, but with the woman next me it was really hard for me to concentrate. I know the song by heart, but I keep looking at her instead of the screen, so I miss a few words.
"Just like stars burning bright Making holes in the night We are building bridges You know When you're on your own I'll send you a sign Just so you know I am me, the universe and you."
As we sang, I couldn't help but stare at Callie. I was smitten, but who can blame me, right? I mean, I've seen some beautiful women before in high school, but no one holds a candle to this beauty. This woman is insanely hot. As hard as I tried, I just couldn't take my eyes off her. Well ok, I could, but I didn't want to. As we continued to sing, I continued to stare. I couldn't help but lick my lips as I looked her up and down, just checking her body out. She could tell that I was checking her out, but she didn't seem to care because she looked at me and smiled. Our time on stage came to an end. Everyone in that bar were on their feet. As we went back to our seats, the D.J got up once more.
"Oh, What an amazing performance folks. Thank you, Callie, and Arizona. That was just beautiful,"
A smile played on my face as I found my seat. I was on cloud 9 after that performance.
"Damn, Zona, talk about a standing ovation. You and Ms. hot stuff had everyone standing for you guys," Tim says.
"Well, I have her to thank for that. I think I may have missed a few words."
"Probably because you couldn't stop drooling." Teddy snarks with a grin.
"I wasn't drooling. I was just...you know..checking out her body," I smile, "Anyway, I got to pee."
"Thanks for that announcement sis," Tim says scrunching up his face.
"Hold up, I'll come with you," Teddy says standing up from her seat, "Tim, can you watch our drinks please,"
"Sure can. Hurry back,"
Teddy and I made our way to the bathroom.
"So, any chances of losing your v-card tonight?" Came Teddy's voice from the stall.
"Not a chance. I don't want to be drunk when I have sex for the first time. You know, I want it to be special."
"Well, the way you looked at her up on that stage tells a whole different story. You looked at her as if you were a hungry lion stalking its prey."
"No, I wasn't." I say defensively.
"You so were. Maybe getting laid would be the best idea for you. You're wound up so tight, you really need to loosen up. Sex helps. Lots of it actually."
"I'm not having sex, Teddy," I snap, "I'm not that way. I don't just screw the first person that bats their eyes at me. No matter how gorgeous they are. And, just because you and my brother screw like rabbits, don't necessarily mean I have to also."
"Geez, Arizona, chill out. I was just saying. Maybe it wouldn't be a bad thing for you," she says. I heard the toilet, then a second later, she comes walking out of the stall to wash her hands. "Besides, she may even be your soul mate."
Okay, may she has a point. I honestly never really believed in love. Not until I saw Callie coming up on stage. It was like love at first site with her. I had some crushes in high school, but never fallen in love with anyone, so maybe Callie could be different. Maybe she could be my first love. She could also be the first one I sleep with. Just not right now. Not tonight. I want to be able to remember that moment. I don't want to be one of those teenagers who loses their virginity after a night of partying.
"Oh and another thing," She says, "We don't fuck like rabbits. I turn myself to where I'm actually facing her and raise my eyebrow.
"What? We don't," I could see a slight smile form on her face as she said that.
"Oh please. Then what was that last night? Huh or the night that I flew in? Why do you think I had a hard time waking up that morning? You and Tim kept me up most of the night," That confession made her blush. Nothing embarrasses her, but apparently now knowing that I heard her and brother having sex really did the trick.
"You heard that?"
"Who couldn't hear it?" I laugh, "As loud as you were, I think the whole fucking world heard it. So, tell me again, that you two don't fuck like rabbits," Yeah, judging by the look on her face, I had made my point that they fuck like Rabbits. "Oh, one more thing, I'm really surprised by the way you two were going at it, you haven't made a baby by now."
"Ok, fine. I get your point, we screw like rabbits. What's the big deal?" She stops talking for a minute, then continues. "All I'm saying is that, maybe sleeping with Callie wouldn't be a bad thing."
"Look, I really want to get to know her first." I say, "Once that happens..."
Before I could finish, she cuts me off.
"The best way to get to know her is by sleeping with her." She says, wiggling her eyebrows.
"As I was saying," Letting out an embarrassing chuckle, "Once I get to know her, then maybe we will have this conversation again. But until then, our talk right now, ends here," I say sternly. I finished drying my hands, then threw the paper towel in the trash and headed back out to our table.
