ok I finally decided on the time setting, not the exact but definitely late or mid 1999 based off some information I've used or plan on using.
Subconscious and forgiveness Part 1
"Boom, the car just blew up in pieces, the parts had to at least made it the the other block". Brad and Tim sat in the garage discussing a movie Brad had recently watched.
"That's too bad would've been some great car parts to use" Tim said tweaking with his hot rod.
"Yeah dad, just forget the person behind the wheel" he said sarcastically leaving the room to go else where.
The last few days flew by rather quickly. It was a new year schools were back open hence Randy leaving for Costa Rica, but there was little to no changes in the Taylor house hold. It was a Saturday the boys eventually went out with friends, Tim worked on his hotrod and Jill was going over some psychology books. Well at least that was until she got bored. Yes, she loved her profession but sometimes the topics took a toll which insinuated her next idea.
"Tim..Timmy" she yelled from the kitchen counter from where she was supposedly studying.
She closed the book and got up grabbing her purse she had near by and the keys to the nomad.
"Jill" he yelled back in a similar tone she was making imitating hers.
"Do you want to go with me to the grocery store to get a few things" she asked him from the door way.
Did they really need more or any groceries at all? No, but she wanted to leave the house desperately even if it only was to go to the grocery store. Gosh she felt pathetic.
"You're just trying to avoid studying again" Of course he knew she was avoiding work.
"I am not"
"You are too, and do you really need me to go to the store with you?"
"No, but I would really like and appreciate your company plus it's always better with you" she said smiling up at him. She knew what she was doing to him and she loved the effect she had on him watching his facial reaction as he raised his right eyebrow.
"I knew you just couldn't get enough of me" he smiled back at her with a cocktail grin. The man didn't need anything near a ego boost he knew what he was capable of and exactly what he was good at. She knew too. The man walked around with the pride of a peacock.
"Tim, are you coming or not " she folded her arms as if she was getting impatient with him.
"Coming" he said washing his hands then drying them with one of his shop towels"
They made their way through the store just picking up a few things and placing them into the cart. There wasn't much to put in the cart since Jill just wanted to distract herself from studying. They strolled through the isles looking at things they may want to try.
Soon she realized that it was a failed attempt in running away from work Especially at a grocery store.
They made their way to the checkout out area where there was a younger male working the cash register. He looked about early thirties.
They started placing items on the checkout counter when Tim caught a glimpse of the man staring. Not at him or anything else but at his wife.
He'd let it roll at first just brushing it off as nothing and proceeded placing the items they had onto the machine.
He felt the waves of jealousy boil up inside of him when he saw him smile up at Jill but it only raged on even more when he saw her smile back before looking down and let out a breathy smirk.
Not only was he trying to flirt with his wife in the front of him. Was she smiling back? Tim thought to himself as he watched her and the cashier exchange looks. He couldn't believe that someone would be so bold with something like this. What did he think he was to her? Her brother? They already had an experience with that something he didn't want to go through again.
He decided that he should definitely do something to end this flirting game the younger man was playing, when he saw Jill hand him the money for their groceries and his hand rubbed against hers intentionally and Jill cheeks almost turned completely red. Not only that but he was pretty sure he heard him whisper "You're so beautiful" to her.
Tim moved Jill to the side before the cashier could give her their change, taking it from him and giving him a death glare obviously sending a threat.
"Start the car and wait for me, honey" he told her handing her the keys from his pocket all without taking his eyes off of the other man.
She couldn't shake the feeling of nervousness that dropped in the pit of her stomach maybe even a bit of guilt. She took the keys and left thinking "what in the world is he going to do?"
As soon as she left the building he grabbed their bags then leaned closer to the other man.
"Look Pal, I don't know what you think you've got going on but she's my wife. Mine. I don't want to see you do as much as glimpse at her. Ever." The anger and possessiveness was made clear in his tone of voice.
The other man nodded and Tim gave him one last nasty look before leaving.
The ride back was silent. He was fuming. Sure, her new hair length made her look younger even enhanced her beauty something he wasn't sure could happen she was already so beautiful. He thought to himself. His remembrance of hearing another man tell her it lit a fire in him.
She sat in the passenger seat rummaging through her head. "What did her say to him. What happened?" She was overthinking the situation. Or was she? What? Or did she even do anything wrong. That's what caused the guilt, she wasn't sure if she did something wrong.
She just knew he'd bring it up when he was ready to speak to her.
They pulled up in the garage and neither of them opened their mouth to speak to the other.
He grabbed the few bags of groceries all at once and made his way into the kitchen, leaving the door open for her.
He started putting groceries away seconds later she walked in cautiously and began assisting him.
"Tim, I can see that somethings bothering you." He remained silent and it scared her for a second.
"Do you want to talk about it?" They stood across from one another one on each side of the island.
She stood still fidgeting with her fingers waiting for a response from him.
"What's bothering me, Jill is I just watched some random guy hit on my wife in the front of me and shockingly unless my eye sights diminishing she flirted back or at least seemed to like the attention"
She didn't speak right away she needed a minute to gather her thoughts along with all the emotions that were being thrown at her. Then it dawned on her. He was referring to her smiling back at him, the small laugh she'd let out and her flirting back and he was right. Who was she to argue they've been married twenty years he knew her in and out.
She might have done it subconsciously but she did like the thought that she could still turn the head of someone younger than her.
"Tim, I didn't mean to. I really didn't realize I was-" she struggled to spit out the words and admit it. "Flirting back, I know what I did was wrong I guess I did like the attention but I promise you it didn't mean anything and I will never let it happen again." Listening to herself she heard how she was rambling and she hated how she sounded.
"I'm sure you won't Jill but it really got to me seeing you smile back especially while I was there, like I was nothing." He raised his voice louder but not enough for him to be yelling at her.
She knew he was hurting, he was was spilling over with emotions without hesitating.
His face was almost red and he had his arms crossed over his chest.
She felt the tears start to form in her eyes. She hurt him and knowing it was because of something she did it destroyed her.
"I'm really sorry, Tim. I really am i didn't mean too. I love you."
Of course he still loved her dearly. She was the most important thing, person to him but right now he couldn't answer her. He didn't want to.
Setting his vision hon her he could truly see that she was sorry and felt what she did.
Her cheeks and bridge of her nose was pink and a few tears rpthat dropped stained her face.
He fought against the thought of just walking upstairs and leave her words hanging in the air without a reply from him, but he loved her too much to leave her like that. He knew she was telling him the truth about not being fully aware of what she was doing because she wouldn't. She was being genuine.
Her heart began she sink as she waited for him to say it back. It was like taking a bullet to her chest that was slowly killing her.
"I know, I love you too. I just-" he stopped to gather his thoughts as well. "I just need a minute." His eyes left her gaze and he went upstairs alone.
"Great" she whispered to herself. He was angry, hurt and he had every right to be. She felt the same way when that reporter came onto him.
She knew he didn't want to speak with her right now but she really wanted to show him she was sorry. Sure he knew she was sorry but she wanted to ensure it. Make it up to him.
She knew exactly
Taa-dah. I think I did a good job with this. There will me a part two. Tell me what you think. Review etc. :)
