Chapter 20

General P.O.V:

Callie felt like she was floating on cloud nine after hanging up from talking to Arizona. After their little encounter back at the college few weeks prior, she didn't think she was going to actual hear from the blonde that stole her heart. She had waited for weeks to hear from her, but she never did. But when Arizona called her that morning, it gave her a feeling of hope that maybe Arizona had a change of heart and was willing to give them a chance, but she wasn't bound to push the issue.

As she pulled into Arizona's driveway, a rush of nerves raced through her body and her mind went a mile a minute. She needed to prepare herself for whatever way the conversation turned. Letting out a sigh, she unbuckled her seat belt, got out of the car, and made her way to Arizona's door. Here we go Callie thought to herself as she rang the doorbell. The nerves she was feeling caused her body to shake with anticipation. She started picking at her nails, waiting for someone to answer.

"I'll get it," she hears a female's voice from inside the house. When the door swung open, Callie's face went from a small frown to a small smile.

"Hi Callie," Arizona greeted her, giving her a small smile in return, "Come in,"

"Thanks," Callie says nervously. As she entered the house, the smell of pumpkin hit her nose.

"Thanks for coming," Arizona says to her, "want a cup of coffee?"

"Yes, please," Callie answers, still sounding nervous. Arizona walked into the kitchen to pour them each a cup of coffee as Callie looked around the place. Some of the walls were filled with pictures, some from when Arizona and her brother when they were little, and up on the entertainment center sat a picture of a couple of who were probably her parents.

"Here you are," Arizona says, coming to stand next to her, "that's my mom and Dad," Callie just stared at the picture with a smile on her face. Then looks at Arizona.

"Thanks for calling, Arizona," Callie says, "it meant a lot,"

"Well, there are some things we need to talk about," Arizona answers. To, Arizona, this wasn't a social call. It was more like 'you're about to be a mother' call.

"Yeah, okay," Callie says. When Arizona walked to the table and sat down, Callie followed her lead and sat down next to her, "So what's up,"

"I..umm.." Arizona fumbled with her words. She didn't want to just blurt it out to Callie that she was having her baby, she wanted to be cooler about it, but the words just couldn't seem to form in Arizona's mind, "I'm sorry, I had this all planned out on how I wanted to actually talk to you and now that you're here my mind just completely shut down on me,"

"It's okay, take your time. I don't have anywhere else to be," Callie tells her, placing a hand on hers. She just decided to go for it. She decided to just rip off the band aid and tell Callie what she wanted her to know.

"Okay, the thing is Callie…" Arizona starts again, "I'm pregnant," Callie froze in her seat. Her whole body stiffened. She wasn't expecting to hear that she was about to be a mother to a tiny human. A tiny human that would depend on her for the rest of her life.

"You're…"

"Yeah, I'm pregnant," Arizona repeated. Callie ran her hand through her hair, trying to figure out what to say next, but nothing else comes to mind. She was at a loss of words, "...and it's your baby,"

"You're absolutely sure?" Callie questioned. The look that Arizona was giving her told Callie that maybe she shouldn't have questioned her the way she did, making her sound like a slut. That was the last thing she thought of the mother of her child.

"Yes, I'm sure, Callie. It's your baby. It's not anyone else's," The look in Arizona's eyes tell her that she was being completely honest. But Callie just felt like she had to be sure.

"So, what do we want to do? How far along are you?"

"About 12 weeks, give or take. I'm due in mid to late September from what the Dr. told me when I was still in Indiana for school. And I know that things are still a little rocky between us right now, But I want us to be able to raise him or her together. This baby deserves two parents,"

"I couldn't agree more with you," Callie says to her, "I'm willing to help raise this baby with you and help you with whatever you need for him or her. You're not alone in this. I promise,"

"Callie, if were going to do this, you need to understand that were only co-parenting this baby as friends, nothing more than that," Arizona says to her.

"Is that what you want? Us to just raise it as friends?"

"For now," Arizona answers shortly.

"Okay, then we will raise it as friends," A small smile peaked on the corner of her mouth and just gave Callie a small nod.

"Okay," Arizona says quietly. Callie knew deep down, she wanted to be more than just friends, but she was willing to take what she could get.

Callie's P.O.V:

It's been a week since Arizona told me that she was having my baby. Ever since she told me, that was all I could think about. I've always wanted to have my own family. I really did. I just didn't expect it to happen right now at the age of twenty-five. But it is happening. Now, not only do I have to plan for my days at the studio, but also need to start planning for my baby's arrival in September.

"Callie, are you okay?" Doug asks me, waving his hand in front of my face.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just a lot on my mind," I tell him. I bring myself back to the real world and continue to watch Kelly with her newest song that will be on the new album. Once she was done, I hit the intercom to talk to my artist, "Okay, Kelly, were going to try that once again, but this time, I need you to give me a little more," she smiles then gives me a slight nod. She sits on her stool waiting for me to start the song back up again.

"So, you going to tell me what has you so distracted?" Doug asks.

"I'm fine," I tell him, trying to avoid the subject.

"No, you're not," he says, "I've working with you since we opened this label and I know when something is up. You're distracted and Callie Torres doesn't get distracted,

"I'm going to be a mother," I spit out. Now that I said that aloud to someone else, it started to feel more real.

"Really? Who's the lucky lady that's carrying your child," he asks, sounding surprised.

"Arizona. That girl I met in the bar New Year's Eve," I tell him with a smile on my face.

"She finally got a hold of you?" Doug asked, sounding surprised.

"Yeah. She called me up last week, told me we needed to talk, and then she told me she was pregnant with my baby,"

"Wow. That's a lot to take in,"

"Tell me about it," I rely.

"So, how do you feel about it? You know, having a kid?" That's a great question. How do I feel about it? I don't know about Arizona, but I'm having mixed feelings about it all.

"Honestly, I'm scared to death. What if I'm not good Mom? Or what if my kid hates me?" I admit to him.

"That's normal. It's okay to feel scared, Cal. Raising a kid is scary. But believe me when I say this, I think you'd be an awesome mother. That kid will be the luckiest kid on the planet to have you as their mother," he says, giving me a warm smile. He wraps his arm around my shoulder and pulls me in for a half of hug.

"Thanks Doug,"

"I'm really happy to hear that she finally got a hold of you. Now you can stop moping around here like a lost puppy," he jokes. I just give him my Torres glare, then go back to working on Kelly's album.

*So, Arizona told Callie about the baby. Think things will turn into something more between the two women before baby arrives? Also, there will be some time jumps. I'm not going to drag out Arizona's pregnancy. *
