Chapter 27
When the plane touched down in Miami, I couldn't be happier. My nerves ran a mile a minute the entire flight. Callie did everything she could to calm me down, but nothing worked. I've always had the fear of flying, but ever since I had gotten pregnant, it just seemed like my nerves have doubled since then. I couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief once the plane came to a full stop.
"Here we are," Callie states as she unbuckles her belt. She stood up and grabbed our bags from the overhead compartment.
"Thank god," I growl as I unbuckle my seat belt as well. Callie just lets out a soft chuckle.
"Why are you so afraid of flying?" she asks.
"Apparently, you haven't seen the first Final Destination movie," I counter, "the one where the plane explodes,"
"Oh, so you're afraid that you will end up having a premonition just like the kid in the movie?" she laughs some more. I'm glad she finds this whole thing funny because I sure the hell don't. Planes can explode out of nowhere.
"I don't know. Maybe, Ever since Tim, Teddy, and I went to go see it..it just..."
"Okay, first off, it's just a movie. They made that movie to scare the audience,"
"Yeah well, it worked," I state matter-of-factly.
"Look, plane crashes don't happen as much as you think. Odds are that we get struck by lightning,"
"Really? You're seriously going to tell me that while I'm having a freakout moment?" Everyone that was in the aisle waiting to get off the plane just stared at me.
"What? I was just saying, Arizona," she laughs, "planes don't go down as often as you think and they sure the hell don't explode just out of nowhere,"
"How do you know? Have you watched the news lately?"
"Can we go now? I'd like to beat the crowd and actually flag down a cab," Callie says. I grab her hand and she escorts us off the plane and into the terminal. As we were approaching the luggage carousel, I understood what she meant. The airport was busy. Which was understandable with it being Memorial Day weekend. There was a crowd of people waiting for there bags.
"Wait right here. I'm going to try to get our bags," she tells me. I do what she tells me and stayed in the same spot of the airport and waited for her to come back. I watched her shove her way through the crowd. Five minutes later, she returns with our bags, "Okay, now let's see if we can get us a cab," We exit the terminal and lucky for us, she was able to flag down a cab in just a split second.
After a half hour, we were finally pulling into the parking lot of our hotel. It took us a lot longer than what we expected with the evening traffic. We were even at a dead stop at one point.
"Torres Hotel? Your father owns hotels?" I asked her after reading the sign on the door.
"No, my grandfather does. He wanted my dad to take over the business, but my father told him no. He said that he would never run the business owned by a snobby bastard,"
"So, what does he do then?"
"He runs his own pharmaceutical company. Plus helps me run the record label in his free time,"
"Oh wow," I say in surprise, "so that's where you get your successful business traits from,"
Callie just laughs, "It runs in the family I guess," She grabs our bags from the trunk of the cab and pays for our fare and head into the hotel.
"I'll get us checked in," she says then heads to the counter.
"Hello, welcome to Torres Hotels, how can I help you today?" The receptionist greets with a smile.
"Yeah, I'm just checking in. I have a reservation,"
"Oh, great," I hear the receptionist say, "what's the name?"
"Callie Torres," Callie says to her.
"Torres? Oh, are you…"
"Yes," Callie cuts in, "he's my grandfather,"
"Well…isn't that nice," she says, flashing Callie a smile.
"Yeah, sure," I watched the receptionist type a few things on her computer, then take Callie's card from her then run it through the machine.
"Okay, you're going to be on the top floor, Ms. Torres," the receptionist says, handing back Callie's card and the keys to the room, "If there is anything you need, don't hesitate to ask. Enjoy your stay with us,"
"Thank you," I hear Callie say.
"Everything good?" I ask, as she approaches me.
"Yep, were all set. You ready?"
"Yep,"
"Alright, let's go," she says, grabbing our bags, the walk to the direction of the elevator.
"Here we are," Callie announces, opening the door to our suit. She steps aside for me to enter.
"Holy Shit!" I exclaim as I look around, "this is more like an apartment,"
"This is the penthouse," Callie says, bringing our bags further into the room, "I figured since we're going to be here for a couple weeks, might as well feel almost at home," I give Callie a warm smile, then walk over to the window to check out the view.
"This is amazing," I say, looking out into the Miami evening. From our room, you get a nice view of the beach, which is spectacular.
"Yeah, the view from up here is incredible. Especially at night," she says, coming up behind me. She wraps her arms around my waist and nuzzles her nose into my neck. I hear her release a content sigh. I turn in her arms and place a gentle kiss on her plump lips.
"Thank you for inviting me to come along," I say to her.
"Of course. I just couldn't stand the thought of being away from you two weeks," she says, connecting our lips again.
"That makes two of us," I say, connecting our lips once more. The kiss started off slow but instantly deepens. We pull apart when our chests burn from lack of oxygen.
"Wow," Callie says, out of breath.
"Yeah," I say, trying to get my breathing under control as well. I put my hand on the back of her neck and pull her in for another long, searing kiss. I slide my tongue along her bottom lip and was immediately granted access. Callie's left-hand moves to the small of my back as her right-hand slides beneath my shirt. My body instantly reacts to her touch. Breaking our make-out session, I lift my arms, giving her permission to remove my shirt. Callie's eyes go wide with surprise.
"Are you sure?" she whispers. I give her a slight nod in confirmation. She reaches for the hem of my shirt and pulls the article up and over my head. Our lips reconnect. She grabs the back of my thighs and hoists me up, wrapping my legs around her waist, and she walks us to the king-size bed. She lays me gently on the bed, then leans up strips herself of her shirt. I work the belt to her cargo shorts. When I get the item loose, I throw it to the floor and begin undoing the buttons and zipper. Her shorts instantly falls to the floor with a plop, leaving her in just her boxers and bra.
"I need you, Callie," I say in a whisper. She strips herself of her bra and boxers, her erection springing free. I unsnap my bra and throw the item down on the floor with the rest of Callie's clothes.
"Slide back," she husks out. I do what is asked and slide up onto the pillows. She crawls her way up to where she's hovering over me and reconnects our lips. Our lips still connected, she works the button and zipper of my jeans.
"Please," I beg. She grabs the sides of my jeans and pulls them down, panties and all, and tosses them to the side. She slowly strokes her shaft, then places the head at my entrance and slowly guides herself in. "Fuck," I hiss out. We haven't done anything in almost six months and even though this is our second time, it still feels like the first but this time, we're both sober.
"You okay," she asks, trying to be as gentle as possible. I nod my head, then reach up and place my hand on the back of her neck and pull her down into a passionate kiss. She swallows my moan as her hips slowly rotate against mine, still buried within my warmth.
"God, you feel so good, Callie," I moan out. My breathing starts to become heavier as my climax starts to reach its peak. "Fuck, Callie, I'm going to cum," I moan out. Her thrusts continue, but faster. Callie's breathing starts to become fast pants as sweat begins to form on her forehead.
"Ah, god, Arizona, you feel so good," she pants out. She continues to her thrusts as she hits my sweet spot over and over. She moves her hand down to my clit, giving it a hard pinch, sending us both over the edge into euphoric bliss. We both moan as she pulls out and lays down next to me. I snuggle up beside her with my head resting on her chest, letting out a content sigh. This feels good. It feels right. I don't know how I didn't see it before, but it really does feel perfect. I lay quietly in her arms, taking everything in. My mind starts to float back to what happened between us almost six months ago. How could I have treated her the way I did. My eyes start to sting with tears as the memories of how I treated Callie take over.
"I wasn't expecting this," Callie says, breaking me out of my little bubble I was floating in. I look at her and furrow my brow in confusion.
"Wasn't expecting what?" I ask her.
"This! Us," she says, "I wasn't expecting us to…"
"Have sex?" I say, letting out a soft chuckle.
"Yeah. Don't get me wrong, it was amazing, but I just didn't expect it,"
"Yeah, well, neither did I," I say with a grin.
"So, what does this mean? You know, for us?" I lean up on my elbow and look at her. Blue eyes locked on brown. "Are we together? Are we friends? What?"
"What do you want us to be?" I ask her.
"I want us to be together, but you said that you don't want to date me or anything," she says sadly.
"What if I change my mind?" I ask her, "what if I want us to be together,"
"Do you?"
"I can tell you this, I don't just want sex," I tell her, giving her a soft smile.
"So, are we together?"
"I don't, are we?" I say, teasing her a little bit. I lean down, placing a soft kiss on her lips.
"I think I'd take that as a yes," she says, smiling into our kiss.
"Good, you should," I tell her, rolling on top of her.
