Chapter 31

Arizona's P.O.V:

"Hey babe, can you bring me out the plates of hamburgers and hotdogs?" I hear Callie call from the back yard. I walked over to the fridge and grabbed the packages of hotdogs and the plate of hamburgers and ran them out to her. Today is 4th of July and it's also my brother's 21st birthday. So, Teddy, Callie and I thought it would be a great idea to throw something together for him. Well, more like Callie and Teddy. But not only is it my brother's birthday, butit's also been over a month since Callie and I made our relationship official. Despite the fact I haven't responded to her 'I love you's' yet, things have been great with us. I have finally started coming to terms with what happened between us on New Year's Eve.

"Anything I can help with?" I asked my girlfriend. With her doing the grilling and Teddy working on everything else in the kitchen, I felt completely useless and want to help in anyway I can.

"Nope, I got it. You should relax before everyone gets here," she tells me, placing a kiss on my cheek.

"I don't want to relax," I growl, "I want to help with something,"

"I don't want you doing too much, not with my baby in there," she says to me. I just roll my eyes at her. Now that I'm further along, she's been way to protective and it was really starting to get annoying.

"I'll be fine," I snap, not meaning to, "I just want something to do. I feel useless,"

"Well, then see if Teddy has anything for you to do," she says to me, "I'm sure she could use some help,"

"I've already asked her. She said she doesn't want me in the kitchen. She said that…" We were soon interrupted by the opening the back door and Mark joining us on the patio.

"Blondie, long time no see," he says with a smile. When he sees Callie, he starts to eye her up and down, "I'm sorry, I don't think we have officially met,"

"Yeah, right. Callie, this is Mark. Seattle Grace High's biggest manwhore," I say, introducing the two. Completely ignoring the name, I just called him.

"It's nice to meet you, Mark. I'm Callie," she says, reaching her hand out for him to shake.

"Nice to meet you too, Callie," he says, eyeing her up and down once more. He leans over and whispers in my ear, "Damn, she's fine as hell,"

"Yeah, well back off, she's mine," I say, rolling my eyes.

"Oh, so you're together huh?" he asks with a smirk, "well then, what would you say to a three some, blondie?"

"Shut it, Mark," I growl, elbowing him in the ribs. I turn to Callie and give her a smile, "sorry babe, Mark has had a crush on me since him and Tim became friends their freshman year,"

"Oh, it's fine," she says, putting her arm around my shoulder, "sorry Mark, three-some's aren't my thing. I don't like to share,"

"Well, that's too bad," he says, "because I'm sure little Sloan would have a great time with the both of you,"

"Little Sloan? That's cute," Callie says with a smirk, "I'm sure mine is bigger. I call mine Big T. You know, for Big Torres," Marks face drops and the smile he was wearing just disappears. I'm standing next to Callie, trying my best to stifle a laugh, but fail miserably.

"I'm going to go find Tim," Mark says clearing his throat. He turns and walks back into the house. Callie and I both burst into a fit of laughter.

"My god!" Callie laughs.

"That was incredibly hot," I say, wrapping my arms around her neck, "I can't believe you said that to him. You know, he's probably not going to look at you the same way now," I say to her.

"Maybe that's a good thing. And maybe he will stop hitting on you," she says, giving me a peck on my lips.

"I'm going to go see if Teddy needs any help," I say to her. I give her one last peck, then head back into the house.

After an hour, everyone had finally arrived. Everything seemed to go the way we were hoping it would. The house is full of celebration and good times. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves. The food turned out fantastic, thanks to Callie and Teddy. Speaking of Teddy. She eyeballs me from across the room and makes her way into the kitchen.

"Hey, enjoying yourself?" she asks coming over to stand next to me at the kitchen counter.

"Yeah, I'm having a blast actually," I say to her with a smile. And I was. I'm happy we could do something like this for Tim.

"Good! Bet you're wishing you could have a drink right now, huh?" she chuckles.

"Yes! My brother is able to legally drink now, and I can't even have a one with him," I pout. Teddy just chuckles, "where's Callie?"

"She's over with Tim, playing a drinking game," Teddy says, "and by the looks of it, she's kicking everyone's ass," I look over to where Teddy was pointing and saw what she was talking about. Callie was playing a game of quarters with the guys and every turn she took, she nailed the quarter right into the cup, making the others drink or take a shot. Apparently, she could feel my eyes on her because she turns and looks at me and our eyes meet. I give her a smile which she returns.

"You two look happy," Teddy says.

"Yeah, we definitely are," I say without looking at her. Which was the truth. I'm happy with Callie. Despite how things started out between us.

"Good. I've seen the way you two look at each other, no matter how discrete you're trying to be. I'm glad things are going well for you guys, especially since how things started with you two,"

"I love her Teds," I admit. Teddy looks at me and smiles.

"You should tell her that,"

"Yeah, I should," I say, "but I don't know if I'm ready yet,"

"Zo, if you can say it to me, then you can easily say it to her," she gives my shoulder a squeeze, then makes her way over to join Tim and his buddies at game table.
