Chapter 5: Pretty Poison
Okay so I know it really has been a while since I last updated this one and I am quite sorry about that. Life just has a way of getting in your way, ya know? But hey, at least I'm back to finish this if anyone is still reading!
I do not own Terraria, that belongs to Re-Logic and Microsoft
Roslava let out a tired sigh and shook her head, as she sat on the bed in her room. That bloody Arms Dealer just had to go and ruin her day, didn't he? She could still feel her blood boiling, as she pictured the smug look on his face as he asked her to murder some of her flowers just to woo the Nurse. The Dryad quickly shook her head, not wanting to let her emotions run wild again, as that only led to bad stuff. Taking a deep breath, Rosalva closed her eyes and began to meditate. She shut out the rest of the world, letting all the noises and stress melt away into the inky blackness, only focusing on one thing and one thing only; the plants. She focused on the grass, the trees, the bushes and the flowers, letting their songs wash over her. Most people couldn't hear the songs of the earth, perfectly content to wander around in silence, but the Dryad wasn't like that. She wanted to hear the trees roar with life, the grass whistle in joy, the flowers giggle and hum, and to let it just consume her. Some may have called it a cacophony of noise, but to Rosalva it was an orchestra of harmony, as a small smile slowly appeared on her face.
Of course her good times were quickly ruined, as the sound of her door creaking open snapped her awake, causing the flora around her to quickly go silent. The small smile snapped into a frown, as she saw who had decided to bother her now.
"Oh um, sorry Rose." Wyatt muttered, an embarrassed look evident on his face. "Did I interrupt something?"
Rosalva just stared at Wyatt for what felt like an eternity, before letting out a small grunt and shaking her head. She got up from her bed and made her way to the nearest planter box, gently stroking the leaves of the moonglow plant growing within.
"You did, yes." The Dryad stated simply. "And for the record, my name is Rosalva. Not Rose or Rosie or any of the other nicknames that come up."
"Oh well-" Wyatt started to say, looking awkward.
"I'm assuming you are here, because of what happened to Maurice?" Rosalva interrupted, turning to look at Wyatt. "If that is the case, let me be clear. I am not going to apologize for what I did; he wanted to harm my children, so I had to take some drastic measures."
"You did hurt him really bad." Wyatt countered. "Like the guy is gonna be out of commission for a good few months, you know?"
"Small price to pay, to defend what I hold most dear to me." The Dryad responded with an eyebrow raised. "And I would do it again, make no mistake about it."
Silence quickly fell between the two, as Wyatt tried to figure out what exactly to say to that kind of response. Rosalva just let out a small sigh, as she turned to fully face Wyatt.
"Listen...I am not good with people, at all." Rosalva admitted. "It has been many years since I have even been around non-plant life. Thousands of years, really."
"Thousands?" Wyatt asked, a shocked tone to his voice.
"Don't interrupt, Wyatt." The Dryad stated, before wincing slightly. "Sorry, that was rude. Maybe I should just go; it was a stupid idea, thinking I could be around people again."
"Hey Rosalva, don't go! We need you here!" Wyatt stated, placing a hand on Rosalva's shoulder. "You're our friend, even if things can be a bit...well tense. And we'd miss you too much if you left."
"You still consider me a friend, even after what happened?" Rosalva inquired, head tilted.
"I mean it was a bit extreme, not gonna lie there." Wyatt admitted. "But we can work this out, as long as you stick around. Please?"
Rosalva fell silent at that, seemingly contemplating what Wyatt had proposed, before she gave a small curt nod. The two shared a smile at that, seemingly having reached the same conclusion.
"You do need to apologize to Maurice though." Wyatt stated, with a bit of a firm tone. "I mean you did put him in a hospital bed."
"I will be sure to do that next time I see him then." The Dryad responded. "As long as he promises not to threaten my plants to my face in the future, however."
And Chapter 5 of Friendship is done and dusted! I really hope that it was worth the long wait, and again I'll try to be more frequent with updates to this story. Anyway, I would seriously love some reviews and I hope to see all you wonderful readers at the next Chapter! I'll give you all a hint; Chapter 6 is gonna be all about the Demolitionist. Anyway, see you all soon!
Love,
The Desert Dancer
