Chapter 6: Kaboom!
Hey there everyone, welcome to the latest chapter of Friendship! I'd love to give a very big shout out to Nanomemes, for all their awesome and amazing reviews they've left on this story so far. I have just enjoyed reading them and it helped inspire me to finish up this chapter. So thanks a lot Nanomemes, and I hope you enjoy this newest Chapter. Anyway, on with the story!
I do not own Terraria, that belongs to Re-Logic and Microsoft.
Wyatt could feel his stomach slowly tie up into knots, as he stood outside the damaged and worn building of The Demolitionist called Norkas. It wasn't that he hated the explosives expert, far from it. It's just he preferred being friends with the guy from a very safe distance. But Norkas had been pretty adamant about wanting to see him, as quickly as possible, so Wyatt had to bite the bullet and see what Norkas needed to speak about.
Slowly shaking his head, Wyatt gave the door to the building a look. The iron door was covered in grease marks and blast burns, which kind of made sense given what went on inside. Giving the iron door a quick knock, Wyatt stood outside waiting for some kind of response. However silence was his only answer, causing a frown to appear on Wyatt's face. He gave another knock on the iron door, this time a bit rougher and louder.
"Hey Norkas, you in there?" Wyatt loudly announced, continuing to loudly bang on the iron door. "You said you needed me for something?"
The next few seconds quickly became just a blur for Wyatt, as a loud explosion sounded off from within the house. Before Wyatt could do anything, the iron door violently swung open, hitting Wyatt in the face. This sent the young man flying backwards, hitting the hard ground with a rough thud, his head spinning and his ears ringing. As he slowly faded into unconsciousness, the last thing Wyatt saw was smoke pouring from out of the Demolitionist's house…
Wyatt slowly got up, clutching at his throbbing head. Man, that door must have hit him pretty damn hard. A confused look soon appeared on Wyatt's face, as he looked at his surroundings. He wasn't outside the Demolitionist's house anymore, laying on the hard ground. He was laying on a soft bed, in a clean white room. This place looked pretty familiar, but Wyatt just wasn't exactly sure why…
"So you're finally awake, huh?"
Letting out a tired groan, Wyatt slowly turned his head around to face who had just spoken. Standing by the door of the room, her hands on her hip, was Katherine the Nurse. The pieces started to fit together for Wyatt, as he finally realized where he was.
"Katherine?" Wyatt inquired. "What the hell am I doing here? What happened?"
Katherine just shook her head, as she made her way over to Wyatt and gave him a pat on his shoulder. "You got knocked out when that door smashed you in the head. You're fine, just got a bit of a nasty bruise on your head, is all. You'll be fine by tomorrow."
"But, how did I get here?" Wyatt asked, rubbing his head.
Before the Nurse could answer, the door to the room loudly burst open. Marching into the room, tears in his eyes, was Norkas. As soon as his eyes landed on Wyatt, the Demolitionist rushed over and embraced the young adventurer into a very tight hug.
"Oh Wyatt my boy, I'm so glad you're okay!" Norkas wailed, tightening the hug he had on Wyatt even more. "I thought you were hurt bad, like real bad! Even worse than when I accidentally sat on that sticky bomb and couldn't sit down for a month!"
Wyatt could only let out a weak gasp in response, as the tight hug made it pretty hard for him to properly articulate what he was feeling. Luckily Norkas finally let go of the hug and stepped back a bit, allowing the young adventurer to suck in some much needed air into his lungs.
"I'm really sorry ya got hurt though, kid. I guess one of my experiments got a bit too...well, explosive." Norkas explained, rubbing the back of his head. "I'm glad you're okay though!"
"It's….okay, Norkas." Wyatt muttered, rubbing at his chest. "But what did you want me to come over to your place to see, anyway?"
"Oh well, I wanted to show ya my newest creation!" Norkas explained. "You're gonna love this, kid!"
Before anyone could say anything, the Demolitionist pulled out several glass bottles from his pockets, all filled with different kinds of coloured liquids. Even though it wasn't explicitly said, everyone in the room just knew what exactly was in the Demolitionist's hands. Katherine's eyes grew wide as she quickly backpedaled from Norkas and Wyatt, until her back was hugging the wall. Wyatt wanted to do the exact same thing, if he didn't feel like he was just about to faint.
"Norkas, please don't tell me that those are…" Katherine muttered, glaring daggers at Norkas.
"Genuine explosives, yep!" Norkas interrupted, with a grin. "I call 'em liquid bombs, and don't worry they don't explode...at least they ain't supposed to."
"You mean you don't know if they're safe?" Wyatt muttered.
"Well I mean they're still in the testing phase, ya know?" Norkas explained with a shrug. "But they should be as safe as houses!"
Katherine just looked at Norkas, trying to figure out how to tell the Demolitionist to get the hell out of the room and as far away from here as possible, but without hurting his feelings. In the end, the Nurse just shook her head and made a beeline straight for the door; it was time for her smoke break and she didn't have the patience to deal with this situation.
And Chapter 6 of Friendship is done and dusted! If you have been enjoying this story so far, please do not be afraid to leave a review and let me know what you think about it. Anyway, I hope to see all of you wonderful readers at the next Chapter!
