Chapter 7: One Fish, Two Fish…

Hey there everyone, welcome back to Friendship! I'd like to give another massive big thank you to Nanomemes, for all the wonderful reviews they leave! It really helps inspire me to continue to write. Anyway, on with the Chapter!

I do not own Terraria, that belongs to Re-Logic and Microsoft!

Wyatt sat down at the foot of his bed, running a hand through his thick blue hair. A tired sigh escaped from his lips as he struggled to keep his eyes open; dungeon crawling was always an exhausting job, especially when that dungeon was filled to the brim with skeletons and monsters ready to kill you as soon as they saw you. But that didn't mean it wasn't a worthwhile adventure; he found a ton of good loot and armour, plus sacks full of gold coins, more than enough to fund some repairs that were desperately needed. After all, the Demolitionist's place was practically on the verge of collapsing…

The door to his bedroom opened up, causing Wyatt to whip his head up and instinctively reach for his sword. However he relaxed once he saw that it was only Cody the Guide entering the room, allowing Wyatt to ease his shoulders and offer a small smile.

"Hey there Cody, what's up?" Wyatt asked, trying to hide the tiredness in his voice.

Cody didn't have a smile on his face; instead he looked extremely nervous and was biting on his lower lip, as he came into Wyatt's room. That was already not a good sign, although Wyatt wasn't going to start ringing any alarm bells yet; Cody had a bad habit of being constantly nervous about things, so this might not be as big of an issue as he was making it out to be.

"It's Norkas." Cody explained. "I think he's up to something."

Well shit, now it was time to start ringing some alarm bells. Wyatt tried his hardest to hide the tired sigh he wanted to let out, as he motioned for Cody to continue.

"I saw him and Miles the Angler talking yesterday, and how Miles was complaining about how he wasn't catching as many fish as he used to." Cody continued. "And Norkas mentioned how he was working on something that might help Miles with his fish problem…"

"Well, it might just be a better fishing rod?" Wyatt offered weakly.

"We both know how Norkas works." Cody stated simply. "Anything he makes, has a very bad habit of exploding."

"Alright fine, I'll take a look at this first thing tomorrow morning." Wyatt sighed, shaking his head. "I need to get some rest fir-"

Wyatt never got to finish his sentences, as a loud booming sound was heard. The very ground felt like it was shaking, as all the furniture in Wyatt's room wobbled dangerously. Wyatt clutched his bed tightly and Cody fell to the ground as he lost his balance, as this violent shaking continued. After what felt like an eternity, the violent shaking finally stopped, replaced by a very eerie silence. Cody and Wyatt exchanged a look, before Wyatt sighed and got up from his bed.

"Alright, let's go deal with this now." Wyatt grumbled, as he grabbed his sword.

The first thing that Wyatt and Cody noticed, as they ran out of the house, was the fish. The smell of seawater and algae hit the two like a ton of bricks, as they noticed fish flopping and jumping around everywhere, with puddles of water covering practically every inch of ground. It was as if it had suddenly started raining fish, as odd as that sounded. Cody and Wyatt could only stand there silently as they looked at all the fish, trying to figure out what the hell happened just now, before they made their way towards the lake.

As the two got closer, they figured out what exactly happened; standing at the dock of the lake, giggling like crazy, was Miles the Angler. The young fisherman looked pleased as punch, as he was grabbing fish and stuffing them into a nearby container. The smile on Miles's face quickly turned into a scowl, as Wyatt and Cody arrived at the docks.

"Oh, it's you guys." Miles grumbled, shaking his head. "I don't have any jobs for you two, so go away now."

"Miles, what the hell is with all these fish?" Wyatt inquired, hands on his hips. "And that giant exploding sound I heard?"

"No clue what you're talking about, dorks." Miles huffed. "Now leave me alone, would you? I'm trying to catch fish here!"

Silence quickly fell, as a grey ball fell out of Miles's pocket and rolled in front of him. Wyatt and Cody took several steps backwards, as they figured out that the grey ball was actually a grenade. Miles, for his part, just sat there quietly staring at the grenade before letting out an annoyed grumble.

"Okay, so maybe Norkas gave me some explosives to help with my fishing." Miles admitted, stashing the grenade quickly into his pocket. "What's it to you anyway, huh?"

Cody looked to be on the verge of a panic attack, as he ran a hand through his hair. "Because you can't just throw grenades wherever you like! I mean look at all the damage you did!"

"Well next time, I'll use a less powerful grenade then. Norkas the Demolitionist actually knows what they're doing, unlike some OTHER people!" Miles huffed, crossing his arms tightly. "I kinda like that, you jerks!"

Wyatt just stood there silently, looking back and forth between Cody and Miles, before letting out a tired sigh. Wyatt then turned to Miles and simply extended his hand, giving the young fisherman a sharp look. Miles tried staring down Wyatt, before a sour look appeared on his face and he handed over the remaining grenades to Wyatt.

"You're such a jerk, you know that?" Miles whined. "I just wanted to fish."

"Use a rod, not explosives. And I'm gonna be talking to Norkas about he isn't allowed to give anyone any more explosives unless I say it's okay." Wyatt fired back. "Now I'm going to bed to get a nap, to get some sleep. And when I wake up, I wanna see all those fish either back in the sea or being fried up for food, okay? I don't wanna have to deal with rotting fish stinking up the place. Cody, could you please recruit some of the other villagers to help? This is a pretty big job for only one kid, after all."

Without another word, Wyatt let out a yawn and walked towards his house, rubbing at his eyes. Miles and Cody just stood there for a bit, unsure of what to say, before going off to do what Wyatt told them to do.

And Chapter 7 of Friendship is done and dusted! I actually have a question for my readers, regarding this series; have you liked the more recent chapters that feature several different NPCs, or would you all prefer chapters focusing just entirely on one NPC and Wyatt? I'd love to know what my audience prefers, after all! Anyway, I hope to see you all at the next Chapter!

Love,

The Desert Dancer
