Chapter 41
CALLIE'S P.O.V:
"So, what kind of wedding were you wanting.?" I hear Arizona shout from the other room. Ever since we got engaged on New Year's Eve, two weeks ago, she's been looking through wedding magazines. Which, I never thought she would because she didn't seem the type. But I guess I was wrong.
"I'm not sure. I haven't thought about it," I say, peaking my head around from the kitchen. "Besides I thought you said you wanted to wait?"
"I do. But it doesn't hurt to look through stuff, you know, to get some ideas," she says to me. She does have a point. A week after New Year's, as we were unpacking hers and Noah's stuff, she suggested we waited on setting a date. Which I was happy to agree to. We have only been together for seven months, so we both felt that there was need to rush into marriage right away. As long it happened and I got to call her my wife, it wouldn't matter when I married her. I would marry her tomorrow if that was what she wanted. "Are you and Teddy going to hang out tomorrow?" I had to do what I could to take her nose out of the magazine. Which seemed to work, because when I turned around, she was standing in the kitchen with me, holding Noah.
"Yeah. We're meeting later. Apparently, she has something she wants to tell me. I guess she had her yearly checkup a couple days ago and the Dr. found something when they did blood work,"
"Think she maybe pregnant?"
"I'm not sure. I guess I will find out tomorrow," After mentioning Teddy's Drs. appointment, it got me thinking about Arizona's last one.
"When was your last one?" I asked, shuffling around the kitchen. She didn't answer me right away, which tells me, it's been a while. When she still doesn't reply, I turn myself to where I'm now facing her. "Well?"
"Back in October. I went in for my three-week post-partum checkup day before we went on our first date." She tells me. " I do have my twelve-week checkup coming up soon too."
"Maybe it wouldn't hurt to talk to them about birth control."I suggested, taking my chance of bringing it up. We have had a couple slips on Christmas, but after the comment she made to Addison about not wanting another baby right now, I figured I'd suggest the idea to her.
"Why don't we just use condoms?" came her reply.
"We could, but they kind of cramp my style. Besides...," Moving my mouth close to her, I whisper in her ear, "I want to feel all of you," Her eyes went wide, never expecting me to say something like that. Watching her shiver put a smile on my face. She turned her head to where our lips are barely touching, and whispers back,
"I want to feel all of you too, but we can't right now," I looked at her with a confused looked on my face. When she tilted her head, a crooked grin formed on her face. When it still didn't click, she rolled her eyes at me, "I'm on my period, Calliope,"
"Hey, that's even better," I say, wagging my eyebrows. I lean in for a kiss, but all I guess is a face palm.
"Ugh! Not a chance." She says, pushing my face away from hers.
"Why not? It's hot," but that only makes her scrunch her face up in disgust.
"No, it's not. Not when you're bleeding like a stuck pig," She tells me, "And how the hell did we go from having a conversation about Teddy, to this?"
"You brought it up," I say, teasing her. Technically I'm the one who brought up a whole new conversation, but it was funny watching her squirm a bit.
"I did not!"
"Did too," I say, trying to get the last word in before placing a kiss on her beautiful pink lips. But apparently, she wasn't having it, because she brought her hand up to stop me again.
"You started this!" She says, as she leaned in to kiss me. Ok you win!
Arizona's P.O.V:
"So, Teddy Bear, what did you need to talk to me about?" I ask her, taking a seat in the booth found for us. I pull Noah from his carseat and place him in my lap with me. We had decided to meet for breakfast instead since Callie got called into work this morning and I didn't really feel like being alone at the apartment, even though I had Noah with me.
"You know I really hate that name, Zo." She says, snapping at me.
"Well, aren't you a delight this morning," I tell her. She seemed a little cranky this morning, "Anything you want to share with me?"
"Oh, you're real cute." She pops off.
"Callie seems to think so too." I crack back. "But seriously, what's going on."
"I got my blood work back from the Dr. yesterday." Oh Boy!
"And?" I started to get a little worried just by the look on her face.
"I'm pregnant," She tells me. My mouth nearly drops. I remain silent, not being able to speak. She's staring at me, waiting to see if I say anything. But I don't. I can't. She's kidding right "Umm..Earth to Arizona." she says, waving her hand past my face. When I was finally able to find my words, I finally spoke.
"You're kidding right? You're playing a joke on me like last time," It's not that I didn't believe her, but she told me she was pregnant before, but she only did it to get my attention.
"No, I'm not kidding this time," she says with a smile.
"I'm going to be an aunt," I squeal.
"Yeah, you are. I have an appointment next week to confirm my due date, but I have a feeling its somewhere around Noah's birthday,"
"Ah! Okay. Have you told Tim?"
"Not yet. I want to wait until after my first ultrasound,"
"It all makes since now." I say, more to myself then her.
"What does?"
"Makes since on why you didn't drink on New Year's," I tell her, "You're pregnant."
"No, I didn't drink because I had planned on keeping Noah for you and Callie so you could celebrate your engagement. My not drinking didn't have to do with possibly being pregnant,"
"Wait…so you knew she was going to propose?" I ask. My own best friend knew my girlfriend, was going to actually propose.
"Everyone knew. That's why Tim and I hosted the party at the house. Everything was all this was planned. She said she wanted to surprise you, I suggested New Year's Eve, the day you guys met. So, we planned the party together. Just her and I,"
"But why would she try to convince me to stay home?" Teddy just smiles, then shrugs at me. The remaining time was spent talking about the new baby. She seemed really happy, but also disappointed in the fact that she will be pregnant on her birthday this year. But I told her I'd make it up to her after the baby arrived.
*So, here's another chapter for ya. Sorry if it's kind of boring *
