The arrow flew; Jaune screamed and then his world went black. Cinder laughed as she felt the power of the maiden finally fully flood her body. Before her Ozpin stood in shock and Pyrrha slammed her fists against glass of her module. Ozpin rushed forward and released Pyrrha from her confinement.

"Get Jaune and get out of here!" he yelled at her.

"But I can help." Pyrrha tried to offer

"You can't! Not with this!"

Behind them Jaune slowly rose to his feet. His once brilliant blue eyes dull and distant. With shuffling steps he moved forward, closing the distance between himself and the floating form of Cinder Fall. Pyrrha stopped her arguing with Ozpin as she noticed Jaune's movements.

"Jaune?"

"Yes get yourself and Jaune out of here. I'll keep you sa..."

"No! Jaune! Don't!" Pyrrha pushed Ozpin to the side as she attempted to get around him.

Cinder looked down and noticed the feeble looking boy approach, and cackled. Was this it. Was this all the great and mighty Ozpin could offer as resistance. She turned in the air and allowed flames to flare up in her open palms.

"Is this how you fight Ozpin, by sending pathetic worms to face me in your stead?" she yelled.

Ozpin grabbed a hold of Pyrrha's arm stopping her from getting past. Pyrrha slapped and pushed at him as Ozpin watched transfixed as the young man he knew as Jaune Arc continued his slow approach towards Cinder. Ozpin could tell something was off, something was wrong with how he moved.

"Don't" he snapped at Pyrrha as she clawed at him.

"I have to stop him!"

"You have to get out of here!" hissed Ozpin as he yanked her back and physically shoved her towards the elevator doors. "Go now!"

Pyrrha hesitated. Ozpin turned, and Cinder hauled back one of her hands. Pyrrha screamed, Ozpin stumbled back in shock and Cinder snarled as she threw the second ball of flame. It like the first burst, rolling over and around in a dome like shape as Jaune stood still and unharmed. Pyrrha stumbled forward only for Ozpin to intercept her.

"I have to help him!" she cried.

"No one can help him!" Ozpin countered as he once again tried to bodily force Pyrrha towards the elevator.

"What is this trick?" Cinder screeched as she formed another ball of flames in her open palm. It was then Jaune's snapped his head up and looked at her.

Ozpin and Pyrrha stopped when they heard the loud fleshy impact. Turning they saw Jaune standing there looking up at Cinder who was now flat against the far wall, straining like some great weight was pressing in against her. Her fingers clawed at the smooth metal, chipping and breaking her nails. Then suddenly she was released. Ozpin took that moment and firmly grabbed Pyrrha by the hand. He physically dragged her stumbling behind him. Something inside him told him he need to get away, that they all need to get away. Shoving Pyrrha inside, Ozpin used his body to prevent her from escaping from the small car, as he reached and hit the ascend button.

Cinder coughed and hacked as she forced herself to her knees. There was no explanation for what had just happened. She was stunned, and confused. She had the power of a maiden no one could oppose her. A shadow fell over her. She looked up, and saw that the pathetic worm of a boy had closed upon her as she knelt there recovering. She noticed his blank distant eyes, and for some reason suddenly grew afraid.

Pyrrha screamed, as the doors closed. Ozpin rapidly pressed the button as if it would make the trip faster. He was as near panic as Miss Nikos was. Pyrrha would never forget that sound or what she had witnessed. The ding of the doors startled her, causing her to scream, Ozpin ignored her reaction as he grabbed her about the wrist and dragged her from the elevator. He didn't stop, and with her stumbling behind him, made his way through the corridors of Beacon.

/=/

Jaune slowly turned to face the closed elevator doors. Cinder Fall's head floating in the air beside him, a look of utter shock etched forever on her face. With a wet plop it fell to the floor as Jaune tilted his head, and shuffled forward. As he closed the doors buckled and crumpled. With in seconds they had been crushed like a piece of paper. He stopped and tilted his head to look up the empty shaft.

/=/

They heard the rending of metal, but didn't look back. Ozpin continued to drag Pyrrha behind him. All the while his mind was trying to make sense of what he had seen. It had to be a semblance, but what of his behaviour? Were the two connected, did the activation of his semblance make him move in such a disturbing manner?

/=/

The doors buckled, and then suddenly were torn free, flying across the small lobby to crush into the far wall. He shuffled out, his blank eyes looking without seeing. His head tilted to one side and then the other. He took several more slow steps forward, while behind him the elevator car suddenly fell, leaving an empty shaft. He continued forward, without haste. Meandering along, his head tilting or turning as if he was scenting at the air.

/=/

Feeling as he had gotten them far enough to be safe, he turned and grabbed the shocked Pyrrha by the shoulders. He looked into her terror wide vivid green eyes. With a couple gentle shakes he got her to focus on his face.

"I need you to keep running. Don't stop until you find Glynda. Tell EVERYONE you run into Rogue Semblance. You understand me, stop for nothing, find Glynda, warn everyone."

"But Jaune?"

"I'll worry about Jaune you get moving. Hurry."

He released his grip upon her, and waited. Several seconds dragged by before with tears in her eyes, and nightmarish memories in her mind; Pyrrha took off, sprinting as hard as her athletic body would carry her. Ozpin watch her go, as he adjusted his grip on his cane. He didn't know how much use it would be to him, if he ran into Jaune in his current condition, but its feel comforted him. He still needed to decide on a course of action. There was just so much going on. He could hear the raging conflicts; the fire of weapons, cries of anger and pain. Beacon was in chaos. He hoped Pyrrha would be able to find Glynda, as he attempted to formulate another plan.

/=/

Jaune had deviated from the path the Headmaster and Pyrrha had followed through the halls of Beacon. He now stood outside, his head turning slowly back and forth as conflict raged in the distance around him. With a shuffling step forward he turned and made his way towards the sound of gunfire. He had made it a half a dozen steps, or so before a Beowulf came charging up upon him. Jaune's head snapped around at the sound if its howl. It was stopped in mid leap, a little more than a metre from Jaune's form. Its legs thrashed uselessly, as it's slaving jaws snapped at the air. Jaune tilted his head almost acting as if he was studying it. Tilting his head back the other way he turned to shuffle off as the Beowulf was ripped asunder.

/=/

Ozpin had returned to the tower's lobby, only to find the elevator useless. He knew it had to have been Jaune, and it fit in with what Ozpin thought his semblance was. Frowning he looked up the shaft. It was going to be a long climb, even with the use of his powers. As he prepared to make the rapid climb; his mind wandered back to Jaune, to his behaviour. Ozpin knew how semblances worked, how they often suddenly awoke, so to speak.

"His must have overwhelmed him when it activated. But if that was the case; how was he moving about?" Ozpin spoke aloud to hear the sound of his own voice; hoping to calm the fears running through his mind. What would happen if Jaune wandered into the battle fields? If he ran into other huntsmen, or civilians?

Deciding he would cross that bridge if it happened, he bent his knees slightly and reached with in. In a glow of green light he moved and bounced his way up the shaft towards his office and his private CCT terminal. He had to get the word out to others who might help him get the stricken boy under-control.

/=/

Ozpin would have blanched had he known how almost prophetic his words would be. The grimm around him ceased to be as they exploded into puddles of goo. The Atlean knights crumpled like paper, as they were crushed in upon themselves. Their bullets never reaching him, as they stopped in mid air and then fell spent to the battle marked ground.

"You go Jauney-boy!" came the voice of Cardin, and the rest of team CRDL, as they moved from behind the cover they were using.

Jaune tilted his head to the side as he turned it.

"Jauney-boy?"Cardin asked as he took in Jaune's strange behaviour. There was something wrong with the picture taking shape before him. From all his time bullying him; Jaune never looked like how he did now. So directionless, zombie like almost.

Cardin and the rest of his team closed slowly. They were getting put off by his behaviour. A Beowulf suddenly came charging up upon them. It was aimed directly for Jaune. Cardin prepared to rush forward, as he shouted a warning. Juane's head snapped around and the creature stopped mid charge as if it had run head long into a wall. They watched awe struck as Jaune tilted his head. The Beowulf staggered about, as if stunned, at least that was what it was doing until its head twisted about and was ripped free of its body in a gout of black goo.

"Guys?" Cardin half spoke half asked.

"Let's go Cardin. There's something wrong with him." Russel spoke in a rushed voice. "Let's go!"

Jaune's head suddenly snapped around in their direction. Team CRDL had just started to back away. Cardin's head exploded in a shower of blood and brain matter seconds later. Dove screamed and bolted. Russel was rooted to the spot, and in a rare show of absolute rage Sky charged forward. He made it two steps before his right arm was suddenly sheared from his body in a spray of blood. He stumbled and to Russel's horror, his head twisted around just like the Beowulf's and was separated from his torso.

Dove vanished, driven along the rough and now uneven ground with panic assisted speed. Russel couldn't move. Everything he had witnessed gluing his feet to the ground. His breath came in short gasps. His eyes wide in utter terror. Sky's severed head dropped to the ground and rolled onto its side. Frozen in a look of pain and horror. Russel could only mumble in fear as Jaune walked towards him, straight through the growing puddle of blood. He screamed as his body was torn into half at the waist.

Jaune continued to move forward his shuffling steps becoming more sure and firm. He did not move with any haste, he did not pick up any speed, just continued to move forward slowly, methodically.

"James! Peter! Bart! Glynda! Anyone!" Ozpin yelled over the open CCT and radio channels. "Rogue Semblance! Rogue Semblance!"

"Ozpin?" James' voice sounded out over the radio channel.

"James? James! Get everyone out of here. I don't care who it is, get them out of here!"

"Oz?"

"We have a rogue semblance, its Jaune Arc. Appears to be telekinetic."

"Ozpin did you say Rogue Semblance?" came Peter's voice over the CCT.

"Yes, I repeat Rogue Semblance. Its Jaune Arc, he's out of control. He's already killed!" Ozpin rapidly shouted as he attempted to focus his words. To get the warning out as precise as possible.

"Did you say killed?" it was Glynda's voice this time over the CCT.

"Rogue Semblance. Jaune Arc. Telekinetic. Fatality. Evacuate EVERYONE!"

The voices suddenly mixed into an unintelligible mess. Everyone speaking at once, combined with increasing static.

"EVERYONE, listen! We need to act now!"

"I'm regaining control of the Knights. Maybe they can keep him occupied?" James' voice came over the open channel clearer stronger; as if his signal was suddenly boosted.

"Do whatever you can! We need to everyone to safety. I don't care who they are! Get them out of here!"

"Glynda find Pyrrha, she can give you essential information about what is happening!"

/=/

As Ozpin urged for swift actions, Jaune had wandered upon a small group of White Fang being escorted by several Ursa. He turned in a robotic fashion to face them. His head tilting to the side, almost as if he was waiting for something. The Ursa surged forward with roars, as the group of six White Fang took aim and then faltered. The four ursa where just about on Jaune when their limbs started to be severed; causing them crash in crumpled heaps to the ground. In sprays of black goo some were crushed, and others exploded.

"Fire! Fire!" yelled one of the Fang, and in response every weapon barked to life. One unloading a grenade in Jaune's direction.

They emptied their clips, and started to reload, as the smoke from the denotation cleared. Weapons fell from nerveless hands as the figured they had fired upon was just standing there. All the bullets that would have impacted him floating in the air. He made no movements as the rounds pivoted.

"Run!" one of the group shouted, but it was too late. The hovering rounds were thrown forward, faster than they had left the guns. They impacted upon the group, causing spurts of blood as they slammed home into flesh. The Fang crumpled as a group, into a heap. Turning slowly Jaune's head tilted to the other side, and then straightened. Methodically he slowly walked forward, towards the sounds of fighting.

/=/

James' teams had barely regained control of his armada, and were working feverishly to fully secure their equipment, as James walked through the main hatchway, and onto bridge.

"Status?"

"We've almost purged the entire system. We're are regaining control. It should be five more minutes, sir!"

James had left Winter in charge of the evacuations, as he had rushed back to his flag ship.

"Speed the process up as much as you can! We have a rogue semblance, on the battle field."

"Rogue semblance, sir?"

"No time to explain. I want the knights under control, and open a channel on all frequencies. Broadcast the warning. We need to get people out of harms way!"

"Yes, sir!" came a unified response, as all those under his command jumped to action.

/=/

Pyrrha's lungs burned, her legs ached, yet she continued, yelling the warning to everyone she passed. Her aura had tanked multiple hits from White Fang, but she did as Ozpin had demanded of her. Shouted the warning. Those that heard her; dropped weapons and turned to their fellows. Civilians and the other teams she encountered were easier to convince. On she pushed unaware that Glynda knew of the situation, having heard it from Ozpin himself. In her path she ran into Ruby and Weiss. Almost completely out of breath she shouted the warning.

"Who?" Weiss yelled back as she impaled a Beowulf, while Ruby vanished in a burst of speed and cut down three of the robotic Knights.

"Jaune! It's Jaune!"

Ruby and Weiss were stunned. There was no way? Jaune? He couldn't be out of control, there was no way. It had to be some kind of mistake.

"What has happened?" Weiss asked as she and Ruby free of any distractions closed on the absolutely exhausted looking Pyrrha.

"He collasped and then just stood up. He's wandering around like in some sort of trance."

"We have to help him."

"What else?" Weiss asked knowing there had to be more from the look in Pyrrha's eyes.

"He... he..." Pyrrha stuttered, unable to bring herself to say it.

"He what?"

"Killed Cinder." Pyrrha finally blurted out.

Jaune? Jaune, killed someone? No that couldn't be possible. Not Jaune. He was everyone's friend, kind to a fault. Ruby couldn't, wouldn't believe it. It wasn't true. It just wasn't. Her first friend at Beacon wasn't capable of such a thing. With those thoughts tumbling about in her mind she vanished in a burst of red petals.

"Ruby! Stop!" Weiss and Pyrrha yelled in unison.

"You have to go after her. He's dangerous." Pyrrha snapped breathless. "The way he is right now, he might hurt her."

"What are you going to do?" Weiss asked as a glyph formed beneath her feet.

"I have to find Professor Goodwitch." Pyrrha hurriedly replied.

Weiss nodded and took of like a shot, following the trail of rose petals, as Pyrrha stumbled in the opposite direction. She soon found her balance and rushed off.

"We've managed to get control of all still active Knights." came the report from one of the multitude of stations that filled the bridge of the massive flag ship.

"Good!" responded Ironwood as he watched his team work before him in a frenzy of action. "Status of the evacuations?"

"All bullheads are on return routes to the academy grounds. They've been instructed to pick up anyone."

"Good."

"We're getting live gun cam footage from a fire team of of the knights."

"Put it up on the main screen."

Ironwood and those of his staff not actively engaged in in some needed action watched. Multiple feeds appeared on the screen. The footage was grainy, but it was clear enough. The knights had been bearing down on a cluster of civilians, and then stopped. James knew that must have been the point where they had regained control. He watched as tentatively a couple of the cluster of what looked like seven individuals started to rise, only a second later for one of them to burst in a shower of blood and gore. Though there was no sound, they could tell by the open mouths, pushing and shoving that absolute panic was taking them over. The knights having returned to their original programming wheeled about and opened fire on the detected threat.

He killed a civilian, was the thought echoing about Jame's Ironwood's head. Everyone watched in shock and silence as the Knights continued to fire. The footage started to bounce and shake slightly. Indicating that the robotic units where in motion. An image fell front and centre; that of a singular figure. James watched holding his breath. Watched as the figure showed no response, to the consolidated amount of fire being directed at him. All around him rounds furrowed the dirt and punched holes in the masonry behind him. What was more telling, and caused fear to coil in James' stomach was the growing amount of bullets that hovered in the air before him.

He's following the edge of the school, James noticed as he watched the rounds fall to the ground. The feeds cut off in unison at that point. Releasing the breath he had been holding, he moved to action.

"Consolidate all Knight units, Have them move on the school! Get a capture from the footage, and upload the shown figure. Make him the priority target!"

"But sir, they had no effect on him!"

"I don't care. The knights are expendable. If they can keep him busy we can get more people to safety. I want it done yesterday!"

"Sir!"

"Get me an open channel to Ozpin and any available units. They need to know."

/=/

Ozpin fell into his chair. The situation was becoming worse than he had feared. Jaune was completely out of control. If what James had reported was true, and Ozpin had no doubt that it wasn't, than Jaune was slaughtering probably anything and anyone that crossed his path. Ozpin had to do more than what he currently was. He needed to act in a more direct manner. The rampage had gone on for long enough; it was time it was put to a stop.

Rising from his chair, his hand wrapped tightly about his cane. In the pit of his stomach butterflies fluttered. He had doubts about how effective he could be against the young man, but still he had to try. Moving back to the empty elevator shaft, he prepared to descend. Maybe, just maybe his powers would be enough to make a difference.

/=/

Glynda had received James' report through her scroll. She had left the emergency channel open as a precaution, and it had proven well founded. She focused her path, making directly for the battered remains of the school. It was on that path she miraculously came across the exhausted Pyrrha Nekos.

"Professor Goodwitch!" Pyrrha rasped, completely out of breath.

"I know what is happening. The headmaster was able to get hold of me through the CCT." Glynda informed her nearly collapsing student, "But I need to know what you know."

"I.." Pyrrha shook her head.

"How does he use his semblance? Does he make motions?"

"No." replied Pyrrha, "He just looked at her. He looked at her, watched as her head..."

"Its okay." Glynda cut her off, trying in a futile manner to prevent her student from reliving that horrid event. "There anything else, you can tell me?"

"No." her eyes then grew wide as if a sudden detail jumped into her mind. "Ruby and Weiss have gone after him!"

"Okay. You did well. Rest up here for a little bit and then get to an evacuation point. I'll get Ruby and Weiss." Glynda offered as she started to move on.

Glynda's mind flew through everything Pyrrha, Ozpin, and James had told her. It was definitely a telekinetic semblance. Much like hers. It was troubling to know that unlike her, it seemed Jaune didn't need to make any hand or arm movement to use it. The strange way he was moving about, told her he was not in control. He was totally overwhelmed. Maybe that could play to her favour if she met up with him. Maybe if she could wake him up?

/=/

Weiss was hard pressed to keep the trail of her partner in sight, but she did. It was wearing her out though, the constant use of her glyphs. Before her the trail suddenly stopped, and she nearly tumbled face first into the ground. Stumbling she did come to a stop, and in time to hear Ruby call out.

"Jaune!" Ruby yelled as she jumped up and down waving her hands.

Weiss watched as Jaune stiffly turned from his path, to face them. The blank, dull look filling his eyes filled Weiss with fear. This was not the Jaune they knew. Not the Jaune they had shared meals and stories with. This was just not their Jaune.

"Jaune you have to stop!" yelled Ruby. "Listen too me! You have to stop!"

Weiss moved forward a sense of dread filling her as Jaune tilted his head to the right. Ruby too could see his eyes. He looked like he was sleep walking. It was then an idea popped into her head.

"Ruby we have to go! This isn't Jaune!"

"No!" Ruby yelled. "It is him!"

"Ruby!"

She dashed forward, her semblance activating. Maybe if she got closer, maybe if she could touch him, make him wake up. Ruby screamed. Weiss watched as Ruby collided with the ground. Her left leg sailing out from behind her. Weiss reacted, spinning the cylinder to Myrtenaster she stabbed into the ground. A wall of ice suddenly bust from the ground separating Jaune from Ruby. Using a glyph to race forward, Wiess grabbed a hold of Ruby and pulled her from the ground. The ice wall began to crumble, fractures snaking across the surface. Not taking a chance, Weiss again pushed her weapon into the dirt; causing a second wall of ice to appear behind the first. Draping Ruby's arm across her shoulders and throwing up a third wall Wiess activated her glyphs. It was going to exhaust her, but she need to escape. She need to get her partner help.

The first wall crumbled followed by the second and then the third. Falling apart as if they were being crushed by some massive weight. Weiss activated glyph after glyph, hopping back and forth as she raced away from the figure that she once would have considered a friend. Jaune tilted his head to the left and regarded the blood stained spot with a blank look. There was no real response to their escape. He did not shout or rage, he just walked forward.

/=/

Weiss shot past professor Goodwitch. Glynda stopped, and glanced at them as their forms continued to fade into the distance. Turning her attention back along the path it appeared the two had come from she moved forward. Droplets of blood lay upon the ground before her. She stopped and scanned the ground. The drops directly followed the path taken by Weiss and Ruby. If their rapid passing by wasn't a bad enough sign, this added to it. One of them was injured a seriously.

Far in distance behind her the mountain rumbled. Like everyone she heard it, and turned her attention in the direction.

/=/

"Sir! The mountain!"

"Show me!"

The cameras on the outside of the flag ship turned and focused. They could see the sides beginning to crumble to fall away, revealing a enormous and foreboding sight. From the growing crater it rose, letting loose and earth shattered roar as it did so.

"A dragon." everyone on the bridge whispered.

James sighed in frustration, anger, and fear. If things were not bad enough, now they had this behemoth to deal with. The feeds showed the great beast slowly extract itself from the rubble. Spreading great midnight coloured wings it launched itself into the air. James knew his ships would be sorely outmatched by the ancient grimm, but in reality they were the only thing available that could possible, just possibly with a miracle drive it off.

"Sound the alarm! Order all ships to fall into formation and prepare to intercept."

/=/

Ozpin was following the outer wall of the school, as per the information from James. The telltale signs of combat everywhere, inter-spaced with the brutality that must have been the work of Jaune Arc. Ozpin felt nauseous, and weak kneed at the brutal carnage he passed. Soldiers, White Fang, students and civilians. Jaune had shown no mercy or discretion. He was as Ozpin feared, slaughtering everything in his path. Pushing the revulsion down, he forced himself to move forward and try to catch up to the young man.

/=/

The terror, fear and panic that was running rampant through the streets of Vale, grew to a fever pitch at the appearance of the grimm dragon. The city devolved into utter chaos. People fought to get inside shelters. The streets became jammed with vehicles trying to escape through the gates. The dragon was drawn to is all. It fed off the negativity flowing like a raging river. It closed upon the city, absolute in its power, and dominance.

/=/

Jaune continued to slowly walk forward. Following the outer wall of the school. He moved without purpose, moved like he was doing nothing but taking a leisurely stroll about the grounds. The utterances from the dragon caused him to stop. As it drew his attention upwards. His head tilted from one side to the next, as if he was studying the great grimm, or attempting to decide on an action.

He watched like everyone else, though be it through dull and distant eyes. As great wings rapidly propelled the creature closer to the city, with Beacon directly in its path.

/=/

Glynda and by luck Ozpin both happened upon the figure of Jaune Arc standing motionless on the path that circled the once majestic school. They nodded to one another as they prepared to act, but paused. They watched as Jaune turned his attention from the approaching grimm to the wall before him. The wall began to crack and crumble, falling apart as re-bar and steel beams were pulled free of the masonry and cement. With another roar the great and hulking beast began its pass above the decimated school grounds. It was then the beams and re-bar rocketed into the air as Jaune lifted his head towards the great and ancient grimm.

It roared in pain and surprise as the makeshift projectiles impacted, punching deep into his thick armoured hide. The attack had drawn its attention and ire. Hovering in the air it looked down, and then dove. Glynda and Ozpin were conflicted. How should they act? Should they rescue the obviously doomed boy, could they even save him; or should they save themselves. The questions were ripped from their minds as the diving mass suddenly started to roar in frustration.

Before their eyes the great dragon sat stalled in the air; its snout just even with the edge of Beacon's battle scared roof. Great midnight wings strained to propel it forward; wicked and cruel claws slashed and dug into the roof sending debris raining to the ground. Its massive maw open and letting loose a never ending roar.

Was he holding that thing at bay, Glynda questioned. Was he really that powerful? Ozpin focused his mind and powers. The grimm was keeping the young man's complete attention. The longer it did, the more time he and Glynda would have to focus their efforts in bringing his rampage to an end. The sudden change in the dragon's tone pulled them both from their thoughts. It was the sound of an animal suffering great agony. Their eyes grew wide, as before them the dragon's head was being forced up and backwards. Ever so slowly it was being made to fold back, to bend and meet its back. More debris fell and shattered upon the ground; those pieces that threatened to crush in on the young motionless man, bursting into small pebbled and raining down around him.

It was then Ozpin had a spark of intuition. It was his eyes. Whatever he was able to focus on, he was able to affect, leading him to an idea. Pulling out his scroll he hoped James would be able to assist. It was then he heard the sound of bones snapping and flesh rending.

/=/

"Sir! We have an urgent CCT call for you!"

"Patch it through!"

"James! James!"

"Ozpin! What is going on? The dragon?"

"Do you have the ability to launch gas?"

"What type of gas?"

"Something that would blind someone for a short period of time!"

"Yes, we do. Why?"

"Target the grimm dragon and dump as much of it as you can."

"Your location? What is going on down there? I need more information Ozpin!"

"No time. Can you do it? Will you do it?"

"Yes. I can and will! What about the dragon?"

"Sir!"

"What is it?" James snapped turning his attention from Ozpin to the crew member that had spoken up.

"The dragon, sir!"

"I know! I know! It is over Beacon and will be at the city shortly."

"No, sir! Its dissolving!"

"What? How can that be?" James returned his attention to the open line with Ozpin, "What the hell is happening down there?"

"Jaune. Jaune is happening."

"Explain!"

"No time! Just launch the gas!" the line disconnected at that point.

"What is going on, Oz?" James muttered to himself, before looking up and addressing his crew. "Load all left side ordnance with CN gas!"

"Sir? If we use too much gas we could suffocate anyone in the area."

"Two shells. Air-burst only! Fire when ready!"

"Sir!"

/=/

"Glynda!" Ozpin shouted. Before him Jaune continued to focus on the now dissolving grimm, "We have incoming!"

"What did you do!?" she screamed back.

"James if going to flood the place with gas!"

"Why in the hell would you ask him to do that!?"

"His eyes! Its his eyes! What he focuses on he can affect! If we can blind him we can stop him!"

Before Glynda could respond a team of Atlean knights appeared from behind her. She turned to regard the approaching automatons; riding crop at the ready. She was prepared for them to open fire, which they did as they passed her by. Snapping her head around with a look of horror; she fully expected to Jaune being riddled by bullets, to see his blood splashed across the ground. What she and Ozpin did witness was far from it. While some of the rounds tore into the ground and the walls, the remainder, those that should have found their target floated in the air around him.

The still dissolving remains of the great grimm crashed to the ground crushing a portion of the school beneath its great bulk, as Jaune turned his dull eyes from its carcass to the closing robotic soldiers. Glynda guessed as she watched that the rounds had come only with in a metre or so of him before they stopped.

The knights suddenly began to shake, as they were stopped in their tracks. The rounds now floating in front of Jaune fell spent to the rubble strewn ground, as the sound of creaking metal filled the air. Ozpin and Glynda both watched as the knight folded in upon themselves, crumpling as if being crushed like bugs under a boot. So it was almost true Glynda thought as she prepared to act. It was in his eyes, or at least what he could see. Glynda suddenly felt pressure, extreme amounts of it in her limbs, and torso. He was looking at her. His dull a blank eyes staring straight at her. The pressure was building and she strained, to resist as it moved up and focused on her head and neck. Even through her aura it continued to build so in desperation she lashed out.

Jaune was thrown to his left through the air slamming with bone breaking force into what remained of the wall. Instantly Glynda felt the pressure release. She dropped to her knees and gasped. She knew the feeling she just experienced would forever haunt her. Lifting her eyes she saw Jaune rise. She knew on the majority of her students the blow he just tanked would have shattered their aura; he however had an exceptionally large reserve. Slowly he lifted his head, his blank eyes starting right at her.

A shell suddenly exploded over head dosing the area in a white powder that suddenly turned into a white gas. The noise drew Jaune's attention and he turned his dull eyes upward as second shell detonated. Ozpin knew they would have limited time to act, as the gas would also affect him and Glynda. He could already start to feel the burn in his eyes. So he rushed forward. Before him Jaune started to shake his head. Ozpin's eye filled with tears, his nose and mouth burning, yet he pushed forward. Glynda staggered as she rose to her feet. Like Ozpin her eyes teared up and her breath was coming out in a wheeze, her chest tight. She felt as if she was being choked.

Before them Jaune shook his head violently, and staggered. As Ozpin had surmised the gas was definitely affecting him, but it wouldn't be enough, so he pushed himself harder and closed the last bit of distance between himself and his target. His cane blow was solid and nearly perfectly on target. He struck across the right side of the head just above the ear. Jaune stumbled to the side and collapsed like a rag-doll. Ozpin fell to his knees the tear-gas finally starting to overcome him. He could hear far to his side, just outside the range of his blurry vision; the hacking and coughing of Glynda.

The sound of a bullhead engine whined overhead. The backwash rapidly clearing the area of gas. Seconds latter four heavily armed and armoured Atlas soldiers landed on the ground via large dangling ropes. Two rushed forward towards the comatose form of Jaune. The other two split, one heading for Glynda; the other to him. Ozpin gasped and coughed as the soldier poured cool water from a bottle across his face.

"His eyes." Ozpin wheezed.

"We'll be flushing his eyes after he's been secured sir."

"No cover them. Cover his eyes."

Having been quickly briefed on what they were to do; including the direction to follow any commands given to them by Ozpin or Glynda, the soldier reached up and pressed against the microphone on either side of his neck. He relayed the information to the rest of his team. With his eyes clearing Ozpin was able to see as one of the soldiers pulled off his bandana and quickly rolled it lengthwise. Less than a second later it was securely wrapped around Jaune's head, covering his eyes.

Glynda felt torn as her vision also cleared, and she took in the sight of her student. He was laid out on his stomach, blindfolded, with his feet secured and his hands zip-tied behind his back. He looked so pathetic and small now as opposed to how he was before.

"He's being put on the missing list." James Ironwood informed Ozpin as he entered the observation room. "To keep his family protected."

"I agree, they need to be spared any knowledge of what he's done, and is capable of." Ozpin looked through the window at the young man alone inside the room. "But isn't this a bit much?"

"Precautions." replied James.

Ozpin took in a long slow breath and slowly let it out. Before him was Jaune Arc; strapped down upon a hospital bed, clothed in loose medical scrubs. An IV drip hung beside his head, its tube leading to his right wrist. Secured around his head; centred over his eyes, several layers of heavy black cloth.

"You are confident it is only what he sees that can be affected?"

"Mostly."

"What do you mean mostly?"

"There was an area of effect, not related to his vision. About two meters in diameter, almost like a defensive barrier. If you will."

"I see. That will be noted in the reports."

"So what happens now?"

"We'll take him back to Atlas. Put him a secure, off site underground medical centre."

"You mean research facility."

"There are not many other options, Oz. He either needs to be contained or..." James didn't finish his statement.

"Doesn't give him much of life or future. Though does it?"

"Tell that to the people who had the misfortune of crossing his path."

Weeks, went by. Services were held, and the morning of those lost progressed. The final causality count was horrific, but not nearly as bad as it could have been. But that was of no comfort to those who had lost someone to the event, that was being called the Fall of Beacon. Ozpin contemplated on if he should rebuild, but that felt like a hallow action. So many had been lost, to the chaos. He knew it had been Salem behind the attack. It was the only logical explanation. In his makeshift office he returned to the piles of reports laying before him. So many teams had been broken; some past the point of any chance to repair. CRDL, JNPR and RWBY, were such teams.

RWBY was basically disbanded. Both Ruby and Yang had suffered amputations. Yang her right arm, Ruby her left leg. Ozpin knew neither would be in a condition to return anytime soon, if ever. Weiss was back in Atlas, under the control of her family, and Blake had vanished.

CRDL was a whole different story. From interviews with Dove Bronzewing, it was confirmed that they had indeed crossed paths with Jaune Arc; and suffered for it. Suffered horrendously. Ozpin could not even fathom what Cardin, Sky and Russel had gone through in their last moments.

As for JNPR; it was in shambles. Ren and Nora were still around, but missing two of their team was hard for them. They had no focus or direction and just sat idle and listless. Pyrrha was so scared by what she had witnessed, that she had returned to Mistral; under a doctor's care. Then there of course was Jaune. Ozpin set the papers he was just looking blankly at and set them down.

Then there was Jaune. The consensus was that it had been the stress and shock of seeing the probable death of someone he cared about; that had initiated the incident. Ozpin had heard from James a week back. Sort of a friendly, keep you in the know type of call. He was still secure, and unresponsive. That Ozpin attributed to the massive amounts of sedatives they were probably pumping into him. Other than that there was nothing further to inform him of. So the call had ended, and Ozpin was left to mull over every choice he had made, and every action he had done and not done.

General Ironwood was seated at his desk going through his own files when the call came through. Reaching forward he touched the connect icon on his desk mounted terminal.

"Yes?"

"Sir, there has been a containment breech."

"Containment? Where?"

"Site 51, sir.""

"51?" it took a minute for it dawn on him, "How is he even awake!"

Jaune walked along the lower level of the research facility making his way towards the elevator. His bare feet leaving bloody prints. Bullet holes, blood splatters, and smears marred some of the walls. Behind him in pools of gore lay the corpses of a dozen staff. Less than a quarter were nurses and researchers, the remainder on duty security personnel. Alarms sounded in the distance. It had been three weeks ago that the order had come through, by way of the director. The subject was to be awoken, questioned and studied. To those involved it was apparent that some at the top levels of Atlas command wanted more out of the young man than just the cost of housing him.

For the most part, he was compliant, and docile. Weathering the repeated physicals, blood samplings, and interviews without so much as single complaint. He was to everyone there the perfect patient. They had no idea that during all that time he was reliving the events at Beacon in the back of his mind. He was seeing each and every face he had encountered. Seeing it all in vivid detail. Then came the exposure and stress tests. At first he suffered them silently, being what everyone thought he was. A perfect patient. It was only after someone in a flash of brilliance showed him the gun camera footage of a civilian being torn apart that he was done with the charade.

He wanted to leave, so he chose to leave. He had decided that no one was going to stop him, or stand in his way. Stepping into the elevator he turned around, and with clear blue eyes waited for the doors to close.

Another story I just had to write, to get the idea out of my head.

Used the first episode of "Elfen Lied", and scenes from "The Legend of the Legendary Heroes" (the ones where Ryner's Alpha Stigma is active) as inspirations.

I always wanted to do something in regards to a "Rogue Semblance". A what if the activation of one totally overwhelmed someone, sort of story. Hence this whatever you would like to call it.

I know I have other stories to work on, and I am working on them. I have endings for them in mind, I'm just not positive on how to get from where I'm currently at in those stories to where I want them to be in a realistic manner.

Anyway hope you enjoy this offering.
