Chapter 58

Arizona's P.O.V:

It's been a little over a week since my brother left the states and a week since Teddy has been back in Seattle. Callie and I helped her move hers and the baby's stuff into the spare bedroom at Addie's apartment and moved Tim's stuff into storage for the time being. To say it's been a hectic week would be an understatement. Teddy is now a month away from her due date, and I couldn't be happier. Callie suggested that I take Teddy baby shopping, but mostly for clothes and some other necessities, she will need since she already bought the furniture while she was in Atlanta and had it shipped to our house. So, that is what we are doing now. Picking out clothes and bedding for the crib.

"God, girls have the cutest clothes," I say, rummaging through the rack of girl's clothes.

"I know, right?" Teddy chimed, "oh, I love this?" She holds up a sleeper for me to look at.

"That is so cute," I say, snagging the item from her and putting it in the cart with the rest of the items.

"Who says I'm having a girl?" she says with a smirk.

"It's just an instinct I guess," I say with a laugh. After another hour of shopping for baby clothes, diapers, and other stuff she thought may need, we finally head up to check out to pay for everything.

"So, how about we go have lunch together?" I suggest, after getting Noah fastened into his seat and the shopping bags into the trunk, "I'm starving,"

"Sounds good to me-ow!"

"What? What's wrong?" I ask, a hint of concern in my voice. When I walk over to the passenger side of the car, I see her clutching her stomach, "Teddy, are you okay?"

"I think the baby is coming?" she breathes in, then exhales. Shit! Shit! What do I do?

"Okay, just relax, don't panic. I'll get you to the hospital," I say, helping her into my Tucson. After getting her in, I race to the driver's side and climb in. I start the engine and quickly shift the car into drive and head in the direction of Seattle Grace Hospital. As I drove through Seattle traffic, I try to focus on the road as I dial Callie's number to let her know what was going on, but she doesn't answer, "Fuck! She's not answering," I growl into the phone. I hang up and try her once more, but again, she doesn't pick up.

"Call Addie. She works with Callie, right?"

"That's right!" I dial Addison's number, praying to God she answers, which she does on the second ring, "Addison, thank god. It's Arizona,"

"I already knew that you goof," Addison laughs, "What's up? Tired of baby shopping already?"

"No. I'm calling you because we think Teddy is in labor,"

"You think she is?"

"Yeah, she's having some pain,"

"Did her water break?"

"Umm..I don't think so,"

"Don't think so what?" Teddy asks, sounding a little more calm than I am at the moment.

"Did your water break?"

"Not ye...shit!"

"Oh Shit!," I parrot my sister-in-law's response.

"Okay, that didn't sound good,"

"Yeah, her water just broke,"

"Okay, get her to the hospital and I will inform Callie. We will be there as soon as we can," Addison hangs up and I throw my phone down in the console and focused on the traffic in front of me. I did my best to coach my sister-in-law until we got to the hospital.

Ten minutes later, I pulled up to the emergency room doors and quickly jumped out.

"Hey, this is a no parking zone," a man in light blue scrubs yells as he was coming out the doors.

"Get a wheelchair," I bark out. The man flinched, then headed back inside. A second later, he returns with a wheelchair. We work together to help Teddy into the chair. I inform him t she that her water broke ten minutes ago on our way over and contractions were now five minutes apart. After he wheeled her off, I climbed back in behind the wheel to park the car.

"Here we go, No, you're about to have a little cousin," I squeal to my 11-month-old as I step off the elevator and onto the maternity floor. I make my way over to the nurse's station to find out what I can.

"How can I help you?" A nurse asks with a friendly smile.

"Hi, my sister-in-law was just brought up here a few minutes ago,"

"Name?" the nurse asked.

"Arizona Robbins-Torres,"

"No, the patient's name sweetie," the nurse laughs at my response.

"Oh, sorry..um...Theadora Robbins,"

"Oh, yes, she's right in there," the nurse points to the room across the way.

"Thanks," I smile, then make my way to Teddy's room. I knock softly and then open the door. When I walked into the room, they already had her hooked up to a fetal monitor and had an I.V in her hand, "Everything okay?"

"For now," Teddy growls.

"Yay, you're having the baby," I squeal loudly, causing Noah to jump, "oomph, sorry buddy. But that is awesome,"

"No, not awesome. I'm not due for another 3 or 4 weeks. It's still too early," Teddy snarled.

"Just look at the bright side of things, I get an early birthday present," I grin widely. My birthday is in three days, and I couldn't be happier to become an Aunt just days before I turn 20.

"Lucky you," Teddy quips, "Dr. said she will be by to check my dilation in an hour,"

"Wow, not even two weeks back from Atlanta, and you're already causing a ruckus," I joke, shaking my head.

"Shut up," my sister-in-law snaps. An hour later, I hear a slight knock on the door, and in walks Callie with Addison on her tail.

"So, any updates?" Callie asks, looking between Teddy and me.

"Dr. Should be in soon, but her water broke on our way over here," I tell her. as if it was Right on cue, Teddy's Dr. walks into the room.

"I see we have quite a party in here," Dr. announces, entering the room, "I'm Dr. Shaw, I'm the OB on duty. How's everything going?"

"So far so good," Teddy says.

"That's good. I'm going to check your dilation. So, if everyone can clear out, for the time being, that would be great," Callie, Addison, and I all leave the room so Dr. Shaw could do her thing.

My body jolts awake after feeling something cold hit me square in the forehead.

"What the-"

"I think the baby is coming," Teddy breathes out.

"What time is it?" I ask.

"Who the fuck cares," my sister-in-law says through clenched teeth, "hit that fucking call button. Oww, fuck!" I jump up from my chair and reach over to hit the call button.

"Can I help you?" the nurse asks over the speaker.

"Yeah, can you-"

"Send the damn Dr. in now," Teddy yells over me. A few seconds later, Dr. Shaw comes waltzing into the room.

"Everything alright?"

"I feel like I need to push," Teddy breathes out. Dr. Shaw lifts Teddy's blanket to check her dilation.

"Yes Ma'am, you are most certainly ready," she says, snapping off her gloves. She calls for her team to set up for delivery. Once everything was all set up, she takes her place between Teddy's legs, "Alright, Mrs. Robbins, on the next contraction, I'm going to need you to push,"
"Okay," Teddy says nodding her head along with a verbal confirmation. A split second later, Teddy is leaning forward, pushing with all she has to offer.

"Okay, that was a good one," Dr. Shaw says, "relax a minute, then on the next one, I need another big push," Teddy slumps back onto her bed, completely out of breath.

"You got this, Teds," I try to coach beside her, wiping the sweat from her forehead.

"I really wish Tim was here. He's missing it,"

"I know," I whisper to her. After another twenty minutes of pushing, the baby's cry fills the room, "you did it, Teds," I whisper into her ear.

"Yeah," she says with a weak smile.

"Congratulations, Mrs. Robbins, you have a son," Dr. Shaw passes the newborn to the nurses to get cleaned up, weighed, and checked out.

"Well, I'll be damned," Dr. Shaw says, looking up at Teddy, smiling behind her mask.

"WHAT?" Teddy and I both say together…...

*Not the best Chapter, I'm sorry. I'm a little sleep deprived (Ha-ha). Let me know what you think *
