Kestra stepped off the raptor with a grin. Lee was waiting for her on the hangar deck with a grin to match her own.

"Commander Adama," she remarked, "how goes the war?" Lee rolled his eyes as he pulled her close to him.

"Unbearable," he says, "the enemy has taken you away from me for too long." Kestra laughed.

"Lee, it's only been a month," she said, "you'll have to develop a little more patience." He leaned down to kiss her, but she put a finger to his lips. "Patience," she whispered teasingly. Lee groaned dramatically as he released her. They began walking down the corridor toward his quarters.

"So how is the planet?" he asked.

"Pretty dull," she said with a shrug, "I thought there'd be more to do once we got off the ships but… no such luck. I think Laura would be going absolutely crazy if I wasn't there. She's trying to get a school started for the kids on the planet. It'll be good for her to have something to do." Lee nodded.

"Sometimes I forget that before all this she was the Secretary of Education," Lee mused, "so what will you be doing once this school is up and running?"

"Well, Laura said she could use my help, not that I'll be much good at colonial history. Who knows, maybe I'll just be a student," she said with a smirk. Lee grinned as he opened the door to his quarters for her.

"You're interested in the history of the colonies?" he asked.

"Shouldn't I be? If I'm going to be living here, I need to know about the people I'm living with," she said casually. Lee smiled as he followed her to his couch.

"What would you like to know about us?" he asked as he sat beside her. His arms immediately snaked around her shoulders, and she leaned into his side.

"Well, I already know about the politics of the colonies. I didn't really have to ask for that one. I've been on the receiving end of enough of Laura's complaints enough to know that it's just as tedious as politics anywhere else," she said with an exasperated sigh, "but what do you do for fun?"

"What? You're telling me Laura Roslin doesn't have any fun?" he asked sarcastically. Kestra rolled her eyes.

"You know what? The details of Richard Adar's presidential campaign are loads of fun. Maybe I should go back down to the planet to learn more," she moved to get up, but Lee pulled her down into his lap, stopping her from continuing.

"Oh no you don't," he said as he wrapped his arms tightly around her, "I just got you back, and I'm not letting you go that easily."

"Fine," she sighed as she relaxed into his embrace, "then what do you do for fun?"

"Well," he said thoughtfully, "we have pyramid. It's a ball game."

"Do you play?"

"No." Kestra laughed.

"Then why are you telling me about pyramid?" she asked. Lee shifted and raised an eyebrow.

"I thought you wanted to know about the colonies," he said. Kestra turned around in his lap so that she was straddling him.

"Tell me what Lee Adama does for fun then?" she asked. Lee smiled.

"Well, I can think of some fun activities right now," he said in a low voice. He shifted so that she slipped off him onto the couch and he was positioned over top of her. Kestra laughed and placed her hands on his chest to keep him from coming closer.

"I'm serious," she said. Lee pulled his head back and eyed her with amusement. "What do you do for fun?"

"I don't know. I don't really have a lot of fun. I like flying," he said.

"Your job doesn't count," she said reproachfully. Lee sighed and thought about it for a minute.

"I like cooking," he said honestly. Kestra beamed.

"Really?" she asked brightly.

"Yeah, do you think I'd lie about that? If I was gonna lie, I'd pick a cooler hobby," he said defensively. Kestra put a hand to his cheek.

"No, I didn't mean it like that. I think it's a wonderful hobby," she said earnestly, "I just never knew, but you'll have to cook for me now." Her eyes brightened at the prospect. Lee smiled at her excitement and noticed she was finally off guard enough for him to lean down and kiss her. She smiled into the kiss as she pulled him closer. Lee pulled back briefly and looked into her eyes.

"I'll cook later. I'm busy now," he said breathlessly. Kestra beamed as she pulled him back down and met his lips again.
