Guest: You should probably watch the Choice Without Regrets OVA (or Shingeki no Kyojin: Kuinaki Sentaku by its Japanese Name), it actually explains in detail how Levi joined the Survey Corp!

Saytunabdullahi1: Yeah, I liked Isabel and Furlan and I found it kind of sad that they died. But, there's another reason they're alive. And that's because I may or may not make not one, not two, but three prequels to this.

A/N: As I just said, I may or may not make this a quadroligy. My plan is that if this story gets enough support. I'll make 3 different prequels set in different time periods.

The first one will span from Erwin's time in the Trainee Corp to 845, and follow Astell's (Alto's Father) POV. It will also cover the Choice Without Regrets OVA and Ilse's Notebook OVA. Probably going to be the longest fic I ever write considering it may span 30 years.

The second will take place 100 years ago before and during the Great Titan War and follow the Flare Titan of that time period.

And the third will take place 2,000 years ago, when Ymir Fritz discovered her power and the creation of the Flare Titan, it will be told from the POV of the first Flare Titan. (No Spoilers!)

So please leave a lot of reviews so I can make a prequel series about this! I'm a pig for reviews!

The Retaking of Trost Part II: A Red Flare

Alto's heart dropped from his shoes and down to the titans below, as he watched Eren go berserk, seconds later, a red smoke signal fired off. And immediately afterward he sees Eren fall.

'Shit! Eren lost control!' He remembers grimly the first time he used the Flare Titan. He rappelled up. All the while one question raced through his head.

'What the hell went wrong?!'

"The kid was just another damn Titan after all!" Mitabi scoffed. "Ian! We need to scale the wall! We just have to leave him as is!" Rico voiced her agreement.

At this, Mikasa turned to Ian, glaring daggers, causing him to look away.

"Ian! Come on! We did the best with what we had! Was it worth a shot? Sure, whatever! Right now, our only option is going over the wall!" He turned to walk away, and Mikasa began to draw her blades, planning to stop him by force. Ian stopped her, holding his hand in front of her.

"Easy there." Ian made his decision, "Rico! Take your squad and deal with the 12-meter titan! Squad Mitabi and my squad will deal with the two in front!"

"Are you insane?!" Riko stepped forward.

"I'm the one in charge!" Ian barked, "We can't leave him here! Change of plan, We protect Cadet Jaeger until we can either retrieve him or he recovers!"

"Hold on...do you know how many lives we've sacrificed because of his incompetence?! And you want to bring him back for what? So this can happen again?!"

"Unfortunately. Yes. We will try as many times as required until he succeeds!"

Jean and Alto approached a group of 104th Cadets.

"Hey. Anyone know what went wrong?" Jean asked.

"Armin went to check it out. He's fine. Probably." Marco added like it was an afternote.

"Probably?!" Jean asked

"He's fine. I'm sure of it." Alto laid a quiet hand on Jean's shoulder. "Eren can do this." Silently, he added 'At least. I hope he can...'

"Ian are you serious?!" Rico yelled

"Yes! I am! How else can we beat the titans?! Tell me, Rico! Do you have some genius plan?! How can we counter their advantage?!"

She fell silent. "Like I'd know..." She muttered

"My point exactly. For now, this is all we can or should do. Sacrifice our lives for a weapon we don't even know how to use or understand."

Riko looked down, "I can't accept this." She turned and began to walk away from Ian.

"Riko-" Ian started but was interrupted by Rico.

"I'll follow orders." She said. "But, I won't die for nothing. Leave the 12 meter titan to us."

Mitabi offered no argument, "Let's go." He ran off the roof leaving Mikasa and Ian alone.

"Thank you Captain-" Mikasa began

"Don't thank me. Truth is, I was scared shitless as to what you would do if we ordered a retreat. Do as necessary, as in the original plan dictates. Go save the man you love." He said to her.

"I don't- We're not- That's not how-" Mikasa stammered before retreating into her scarf, blushing furiously, but by the time she looked up. Ian was gone. She turned back towards Eren's titan and noticed something.

'Why isn't he regenerating?!'

Eren began to stir 'Huh? Where am I?' He wondered. 'I'm...sitting down?' His eyes twitched, and finally opened, allowing light to pour in. Blinking, his eyes, and brain adjusted for a few seconds.

'Hm? Wait...' He began to remember 'I'm at home?' He yawned listlessly.

'I think I'll go back to sleep. After all, there's nothing important for me to do...' He closed his eyes again...

Armin landed on a roof overlooking Eren's titan, panting heavily. "What are you doing Eren?!

"Alright listen up. Your only job is too lure and keep the titans on this corner of the city. Trainees, form groups of three and run along the ground to lure titans. When you get to the wall, scale it. If any titans break off, we'll take care of it." The Garrison officer heading their squad said to them.

"If?" Jean muttered. "More of a when than an if."

"Can we deviate from orders if we deem it necessary?" Annie asked the officer

"If you believe it will help, then yes." He replied with a shrug.

Alto stepped forward. "What if we run into the Armored?" He asked.

"Do not engage. Fire a black flare." He says, right before he was cut off by the sounds of Titan combat.

"Kirschtein Squad engage!" The officer roared, and with that they charged into combat.

Mitabi dived down on a Titan and slashed the nape of it's neck, the flesh was sent sailing and the titan fell limp before streaking across to another building. He coughed from all the dust and debris, but when it cleared, a giant hand was reaching for him.

Suddenly, its nape was slashed as if cut by a sword invisible to the naked eye. Milliseconds later, Mikasa appeared beside Mitabi.

"Shit! 13-meter titan behind us! And it's about to pounce on Jaeger!" Ian said, Mikasa began to pursue it when Mitabi shouted

"4 titans coming through the gate. At least 10 meters each!"

"Ackerman take the one behind us! Don't let it touch Jaeger! We'll take the four coming from the gate!" Ian shouted.

'Elite or not two squads can't take on four titans at once!' Mikasa thought quickly, but her thoughts soon redirected to the titan in front of her. Using her gear to boost into the air she latched on to the nape of the titan with her grapple hooks before diving down on it's nape and cutting it out. Causing the titan to fall limp on the building.

'What? There aren't that many of us here so why are all these titans coming here? Unless...they're here for Eren!"

A sudden voice snapped her out of her thoughts, "Mikasa!"

"Armin?!"

"Why'd the plan go belly up! Why the hell is he just lying here?!"

"It's dangerous! Get out of there! Eren lost control and wound up like that! I tried snapping him out of it but he didn't respond! We're doing the best we can to defend Eren but at this rate we'll be wiped out!" Armin whirled back around to Eren.

"Spot on the back of the neck. One meter high ten centimeters across..." Armin muttered. Flicking some switches on his gear, he planted both his grapple hooks on the titan flesh to the sides of his feet.

"Armin what are you doing?!"

"I'm pulling him out of there!" He drew his ODM blade. "Eren emerged from the nape of the neck. It must be related to how these damn things work!" He raised his blade, "As long as I don't strike the center, Eren should be fine. Eren, this won't kill you but well," He inhaled, "This is going to hurt!" And with that, he forced the blade down, straight through the Attack Titan's nape.
