A/N: Hey there, AntiHero here! I'm glad there were quite a few people who liked my first chapter. I wasn't sure if an Animorph x My Hero Academia crossover would be interesting, but it looks like it might just be. Anyway, time to get to the next chapter where the story really begins. Btw, what do you guys think about my OC's name?

Disclaimer – I do not own Animorphs or My Hero Academia; K.A. Applegate and Kohei Horikoshi respectively do!

Chapter 2 –

Deep in a forest at the peak of dawn, a gray wolf was running at high speed. "Woohoo! Now this is the way to train!" Rènhé thought. He dashed past every tree with ease before shifting back into his human form and continued running. "Spider Monkey!" he shouted, and then immediately morphed into that animal while jumping for a tree; once his change was complete, he quickly scaled the tree and began to swing from branch to branch using his agility. He then swung from one final branch and changed back to human. "Next is… flying squirrel!" Morphing again, Rènhé became another animal and glided onto another tree; the rodent began to run across the branches, gliding to cross the wider distance. Now Falcon! He quickly changed into himself and then into the bird of prey. Rènhé soared through the woods and swerved upward, reaching high above the clouds before changing back into a human and diving back down. "Dragonfly!" he shouted. He quickly changed and flapped his wings, allowing him to stop his descent and land safely on the ground. He changed back to himself and then into a lion and continued running through the woods before stopping at a ledge and letting out a mighty roar. "Oh yeah, now that was a rush!"

Having fun goofing off? his mother's voice entered his mind. Rènhé looked over to see an eagle and an osprey perched on a nearby tree, looking down at him.

You should've told me you were going skydiving bro; I could've joined you! Rènhé's sister said.

I wasn't goofing off, Mom. I was getting in some last-minute training before going to school, Rènhé explained. And don't worry, I've got my watch so that I remember to not exceed the time limit. He lifted his right leg to show his watch to his family.

That's good. Listen Rènhé, I wanted to talk to you about something, the Pro Hero said as she and her daughter changed into their human forms.

What is it? Rènhé asked while doing the same.

"Now don't get me wrong, I'm glad that you passed the exam and got into UA; it's just that… once this whole thing starts for you, it could get rough before you know it," the heroine warned.

"Don't worry, Mom, big bro can handle it," Kimiko assured.

"I know he can, sweetie. I just want him to understand that being a hero can get dangerous at times. Before I got my power, I was just an ordinary kid: good at some things, bad at others; but after I received my gift, it felt like I was thrust into a path I couldn't see the end of and suddenly I was risking my life to protect the innocent and stomp the enemy," the mother explained. "I know I had somewhat of a choice, but it always felt like I rushed into this life because I didn't think I had one at the time. I don't want you to feel like that, and there's no shame in backing out if things get too much for you."

Rènhé took a deep breath before speaking, "I understand why you're worried Mom, but I'm not backing out of this. It's what I want to do, not just to help other people but myself as well. During training or morphing, it always felt like I was unlocking the full potential of whatever form I took, but never my own. I want to discover what that potential is, to see what I can really do. You've taught me some things that'll come in handy, I even learned a few tricks from Kimiko, but now it's time to learn new things. This is the kind of experience that'll help me learn more about my Quirk and myself. Then I'll be a great hero just like you."

A tear came in his mother's eye, but she wiped it away and gave him a warm smile. "Should've known you'd be this stubborn," she said while rustling his hair.

"I got that from you," he said as he embraced her and his sister. "Don't worry guys, this first day will be over before you know it. Then it won't be long before I graduate and become a real hero, and then I'll be by your side Mom as we protect the world from evil."

"Unless you fail, or worse yet, get held back; then I'll be by your side as you retake your classes," Kimiko joked.

"Dream on, sister," he said as he stepped away. "I'd better get to school."

"We'll go with you, the three of us don't get to fly together as often as before," the hero suggested.

"Yay!" Kimiko cheered.

"Alright. Just let me get my bag," Rènhé said before changing into a hawk and flying back to the spot where he left his schoolbag. Once he got it, he met up with his mother and sister, who had changed into an eagle and osprey respectively, and the three flew towards the hero academy. Soon the three were hovering over UA. Alright guys, I'll see you later, Rènhé said as he landed by the school and started to change into a human.

Bye, bro, Kimiko said.

Be careful Renny, make sure you listen to your teachers and stay focused, his mother told him. And Rènhé, I'm proud of you.

Rènhé Ikimono signed 'I love you' as he finished morphing and put on his school uniform and headed inside the school to look for his classroom. As he rushed through the hall, he spotted someone ahead of him; as he got closer, he recognized him as the green-haired boy from the entrance exam. "So, he got in after all, must've been those rescue points. Good for him," he thought as he approached the boy who stopped at 1-A's door.

"Man, this thing is huge. Are there giants here? Deku asked.

"Hey, you're in Class 1-A too?" Rènhé asked the boy.

"Oh, uh, yes. You must be one of my classmates. I'm Izuku Midoriya, it's nice to meet you," Izuku nervously said as he held out his hand.

"Nice to meet you too. I'm Rènhé Ikimono," Rènhé returned the greeting. "You seem a little nervous."

"Y-Yeah, this is kind of overwhelming," Izuku said. "The most promising students in the country are waiting behind this door. Can't help but wonder what they're like…" His thoughts went to a certain blond bully and glasses-wearing teen from the exam.

"Hey now, it's gonna be fine. Now let's get in there and meet them already," Rènhé urged as he opened the door. Immediately, they could hear two students arguing.

"Take your feet off that desk now!" the glasses teen yelled. "It's the first day and you're already being disrespectful by scuffing school property, you cretin!"

"You gotta be kidding me. Did your old school put a stick up your ass or were you just born with it?" the blond asked.

Izuku stared nervously at the two. "Just my luck," he thought.

"I've seen that kid from somewhere… oh yeah, he's from the sludge villain attack that All Might stopped," the morpher thought. "Now that I think about it, Izuku was there too, my sister and I were nearly blown away from that hurricane." Seeing Midoriya's face, he tried to comfort him. "Come on, man, they can't be that bad."

"Let's start over. I'm Tenya Iida from Somei Private Academy," the boy named Iida introduced himself.

"Somei, huh? You must think you're better than me. I'm gonna have fun ripping you a new one," the other boy replied with a smirk.

"You would threaten your own classmate? Are you sure you're in the right place?" Iida questioned incredulously, to which the boy just scoffed. They both then notice Rènhé and Izuku standing at the door. "It's him," Iida said, referring to Midoriya, getting the other students to look at him too.

"Hi!" Izuku greeted the class uncomfortably.

"Hey there," Rènhé said.

"Good morning to you both!" Iida marched over to introduce himself. "I'm Tenya Iida from…"

"We heard you the first time," Rènhé cut him off. "I'm Rènhé Ikimono."

"And I'm Izuku Midoriya, it's nice to meet you," Midoriya said to their classmate.

"Midoriya, you realized there was something more to the practical exams, didn't you?" Iida guessed. "You must be very perceptive, and I misjudged you. I admit, as a student, you are superior to me!"

"I find that hard to believe," Midoriya thought.

"Hey, I recognize that messy hair! Falling boy!" a brown-haired girl called as she came up behind them.

"Oh my gosh! It's that nice girl who talked to me!" Deku thought as the girl continued to talk. "She looks really good in that uniform."

"And you were there too, Monkey man," the girl said to the morpher. "Thanks for helping me back then."

"No problem, but don't call me that again, please," Rènhé said as the girl continued talking to Midoriya.

"If you're just here to make friends, then you can pack up your stuff now," a voice said from behind the girl. The four glanced at the hall to see a black-haired man with tired eyes resting inside a large yellow sleeping bag. "Welcome to UA's hero course."

"What is that thing?" the students wondered.

"It took eight seconds before you all shut up, that's not gonna cut it. Time is precious. Rational heroes would understand that," the man, dressed in black clothes and wearing a gray scarf, commented as he stepped out of his bag. He then looked to the class and introduced himself. "Hello, I'm Shota Aizawa, your teacher."

"He's our teacher? I can't remember Mom mentioning Tired Man to me," Rènhé Ikimono thought.

"Right, let's get to it. Put these on and head outside," Aizawa instructed as he pulled out a pair of clothes, colored blue and bearing the school's letters.

Soon the students were dressed in the school clothes and standing in the P.E field. "What?! A Quirk assessment test?" the students asked.

"But we'll miss the Orientation," the brown-haired girl stated.

"If you really wanna make the big leagues, you can't waste time with pointless ceremonies," Aizawa said. "Here at UA, we're tethered by tradition; that means I get to run my class however I see fit." His statement made some of the students nervous. "You've been taking standardized tests most of your lives, but you never got to use your quirks in physical exams. The country's still trying to pretend that we're created equal by not letting those with the most power excel; it's not rational. One day the ministry of education will learn that." The teacher then addressed the angry looking blonde. "Bakugo, you managed to get the most points on the entrance exam. What was the farthest distance you've thrown a softball in junior high?"

"Sixty-seven meters," Bakugo answered.

"Try doing that with your quirk," the hero suggested. He handed a ball to his student. "Anything goes, just stay inside the circle."

"Alright man, you asked for it," Bakugo said as he flexed his arm. "I'll add a little heat to my pitch and drop their jaws." "DIE!" he shouted as he hurled the ball into the sky with a fiery explosion.

"All of you need to know your maximum capabilities," Aizawa said as the ball fell to the ground. He held up a device to show the measured distance from Bakugo's throw: '705.2m' "It's the rational way to figure out your potential as Pro Heroes."

"Whoa. Seven hundred and five meters?" another blond-haired teen said.

"I wanna go! This looks like fun!" a pink-skinned girl said.

"Now that's what I'm talking about! Using our quirks as much as we like!" a black-haired boy said.

"So this looks fun?" Aizawa muttered sternly. "You have three years to become heroes. You think it's gonna be all games and play time?" No one answered and the teacher gave a wicked smirk to his students. "Idiots. Today you'll compete in eight physical tests to gauge your potential. Whoever comes in last will have none and be expelled immediately." The students were all shocked by this condition.

"Is he serious? Mom didn't warn me about this!" Rènhé thought.

"Immediate expulsion? Eight tests? Oh crap! Not good!" Deku thought in fear as he looked at his hand. "I can only use One For All at zero to one hundred percent. I don't have any control yet!"

"Like I said, I decide how this class runs. Understand?" Aizawa asked as he continued to smirk. "If you don't like it then you can go home right now."

"I came here to find out my true potential as a hero, and if I fail here, it means I have none," Rènhé thought as his face showed determination. "Mom probably had to go through things just as tough to become a pro. I trained to get in, now it's time to show that I'm ready for anything!"

"A huge test on the first day of school? What the crap am I gonna do?" Deku worried.

"You can't send one of us home! We just got here! Even if it is the first day, that's not fair!" the brown-haired girl protested.

"And you think natural disasters are? Or power-hungry villains? Or catastrophic accidents that wipe out whole cities? No! The world is full of unfairness! It's a hero's job to combat that unfairness! If you wanna be a pro, you're gonna have to push yourselves! For the next three years, UA will throw one terrible thing after another at you! So go beyond, Plus Ultra style!" Aizawa explained. He then made a gesture with his finger and smirked again. "Show me it's no mistake that you're here."

"While I don't like it, I understand his point. Animals have to do everything to survive," Rènhé thought as he clenched his fist. "I have to endure and do my best!"

"Now then, we're just wasting time by talking. Let the games begin," the teacher declared.

First up was the fifty-meter dash. Rènhé stood at the starting line along with Tenya and a girl with long green hair and her tongue sticking out. The morpher removed the school clothes, showing his morphing outfit, which made his classmates stare in confusion, and went down on all fours; in mere seconds, his body changed into that of a cheetah, and he grabbed his clothes with his mouth. "Runners, on your mark! Ready?" the camera bot said. It let out a gunshot sound and the students ran; Rènhé reached the end first with a time of 2.06 seconds, followed by Iida with 3.04 seconds, and then the frog girl with 5.58 seconds.

Aizawa looked at his device to see the scores. "Rènhé's definitely got potential, let's see what else he's got," he commented.

Rènhé changed back to human and put on his clothes. "I hope that was fast enough," he thought before looking over to see the others run. "Looks like everyone's doing good." He saw Deku run without any additional boost. "Why didn't he use his quirk like at the exam?"

The grip test was second. The morpher changed into his silverback gorilla form and got a score of 1,810 kilograms. For the standing long jump test he morphed into a gray kangaroo. The ball throwing test proved to be quite challenging since most animals couldn't throw a ball, but he worked around it by partially morphing a dung beetle to expand his muscles and increase his strength. "I hate using insect form," he thought as he shifted back to human. "But hopefully that beetle strength got me a good enough score." He looked over to see Midoriya getting ready to take the ball throw test.

"It's now or never. This is my best chance to use One for All," Deku thought as he held the ball.

"If Midoriya doesn't shape up, he's the one going home," Iida commented.

"Of course he's going home! He's a Quirkless loser!" Bakugo stated.

"You're wrong, hothead. No 'Quirkless loser' could destroy the zero-pointer with one punch," Renhe said.

"Huh?" Bakugo questioned.

"Didn't you hear what he did at the entrance exam?" Iida asked.

Aizawa watched intensively as Izuku prepared to throw the ball. "Here it comes," he thought.

Midoriya thought about what his mother and All Might said to him; this motivation was enough to trigger his Quirk. As he got ready to launch the ball, the energy in his arm began to build up. "I won't let them down!" Just as he was about to hurl the ball, Aizawa's eyes widened and started glowing red as he looked at Deku. The messy-haired teen threw the ball and it landed right before him on the ground, only reaching forty-six meters. "What gives? I was trying to use it just now," he wondered.

"I erased your Quirk," Aizawa explained. Deku looked over to see his teacher glaring at him with red eyes and the scarf floating around his neck. "The judges at the exam weren't rational enough. Someone like you should never be allowed to enroll at this school."

"Wait, you did what to my Quirk?" Deku asked before noticing something peculiar around Aizawa's neck. "Those goggles, I know you! You can look at someone and cancel their powers! The Erasure Hero: Eraserhead!"

While the students were discussing whether they've heard of their teacher's hero identity, Rènhé already knew this Pro Hero. "He's Eraserhead. Mom mentioned him quite a few times. She said he's not one for fame, but he's very efficient in his work as a hero… and apparently as a teacher."

"You're not ready, you don't have control over your power," Eraser told his student. "Were you planning on breaking your bones again? Letting someone else save your useless body?"

"No! That's not what I was trying to do-" Deku tried to explain but was stopped when Aizawa's scarf wrapped around his arms and pulled him closer to the teacher.

"No matter what your intentions are, you would only be a liability in battle. You have the same reckless passion as another overzealous hero I know. One who saved a thousand people by himself and became a legend. But even with that drive, you're worthless if you can only throw a single punch before breaking down. Sorry Midoriya, but with your power, there's no way you can become a hero," Eraserhead lectured his student before releasing him. "I've returned your impractical Quirk, take your final throw and get it over with." He stepped aside as Deku picked up the ball again.

While none of the other students heard what their teacher said to their classmate, Rènhé partially morphed a lion to enhance his hearing and heard everything Aizawa said. "Harsh teach, but he may be right. Izuku would have been killed after using his Quirk if Infinity Girl hadn't saved him. If he wants to reach his full potential as a hero, he's gotta get past this setback." He looked at Deku, who was staring down solemnly. "What are you gonna do, Midoriya?"

"I've only got one shot at nailing this, so what am I gonna do?" Deku muttered.

"Is he gonna use his Quirk and forfeit the rest of the events like a fool? Or admit defeat and settle for last place?" Aizawa pondered as he watered his eyes with eye drops. "Either way, he doesn't belong here."

"I still can't control my power, but I can't just give up either. Do I let the egg explode? It might be my only shot at staying at UA," Deku thought as his determination returned. "I have to try something, no matter the consequences!"

"Waste of a Quirk," Aizawa thought.

Deku prepared to throw the ball again, but now with his teacher's words in his head. "Mr. Aizawa was right about what he said. If I can't control my Quirk, there's no way I'll ever become a hero! I have to work way harder than everyone else if I'm going to succeed! Even if I have a lot to learn, I'll focus on what I can do for now!" With his drive reignited, Midoriya channeled the energy of his Quirk, but this time just in his finger. "Smash!" He released an incredible force as he hurled the ball into the sky, surprising his classmates. "It hurts, but not as bad as before," he thought as his broken finger twitched from the backlash.

"Whoa, nice throw," Rènhé thought.

"A throw like that requires a lot of force. Did he focus all of that power into one finger?" Aizawa thought.

The ball landed on the ground and the score was seven hundred and five point three meters. "Mr. Aizawa," Deku called as he gave a forced smile and clenched his fist. "You see, I'm still standing!"

The Pro hero gave his own grin. "This kid!"

"He threw it over seven hundred meters!"

"Nice! He's finally showing us his true power!" the Infinity girl cheered.

"But his finger appears to be broken now, just like in the exam. His quirk is very odd," Iida speculated.

It was clear that all of the students were surprised by Deku's performance, but the most surprised was a certain hot-blooded blond who was staring at his former childhood friend with his jaw open. "What the hell was that? If he had a Quirk, he would've gotten in when we were kids! This is impossible!" Bakugo thought. His astonishment then changed to fury as his palms sparked. "He's up to something. I'm getting to the bottom of this right now!" Though some noticed, none could stop the exploder as he ran towards Midoriya with his palm out. "Hey! Deku, you bastard! Tell me how you did that or you're dead!" he yelled as Midoriya screamed in fear.

The blond teen's wrath was cut off when Renhe stepped in between the two, having morphed halfway into a lion and stood defensively in front of Deku. "Ikimono?"

"What do you want?" Bakugo growled.

"I don't know what your deal is, but I'm only gonna say this once. Back off!" Rènhé warned, baring his fangs. "I hate bullies."

"I don't give a damn what you hate, now get out of my way!" Bakugo demanded. "You don't know who you're messing with!"

"I was just about to say the same thing, Hothead," Rènhé said as he held up his clawed hand. Before either of them could make a move, they found themselves being restrained by Eraserhead's scarf as Renhe changed back into a human. "What the heck?!"

"What? Why the hell is this scarf… so strong?" Bakugo questioned as he tried to break free.

"Because it's a capture weapon made of carbon fiber and a special metal alloy," Aizawa replied as glared at his students with his red eyes. "Both of you, stand down! It'd be wise not to make me use my Quirk so much. I get serious dry eyes."

"Too bad, that power's amazing," the class commented.

"His quirk, it actually forced me back into my human form," Rènhé thought in amazement. "Guess he really can neutralize anyone's power."

"You're wasting my time, whoever's next get to it." Erasure said as he released his students.

Deku watched Bakugou carefully before going past to rejoin the others. Rènhé gave one last glare at the exploder before leaving as well. After that, the rest of the tests resumed and the morpher got through all of them; finally it was time to examine the results and find out who would be kicked out. Rènhé noticed Izuku lying on the ground and went over to him. "You look exhausted, you alright?" he asked as he offered a hand.

"I'm fine, just really tried." Izuku said. "And worried."

"Look on the bright side, if you get expelled you'll never have to deal with Hot-head for a while," Rènhé said though this only earned an even more worried look from the messy haired teen. "Okay, that came out wrong,"

Deku takes his hand and is pulled to his feet. The students were then waiting for their teacher to announce who would be kicked out of the hero course. "Alright, time to give you the results." Aizawa announced. "I've ranked you all from best to last, you should probably have a good idea of where you stand already. I'll just pull up the whole list, it's not worth giving you each individual score." The pro hero pressed a button on a remote and a hologram of the test scores came up. Rènhé found himself in sixth place after Momo Yaoyorozu, Shoto Todoroki, Katsuki Bakugou, Tenya Iida and Fumikage Tokoyami.

"Guess I'm still far from reaching the top," he thought before finishing reading the list and seeing Deku's name at the bottom. "Aw man,"

"I'm in last place. I failed." Midoriya thought and looked saddened.

"Oh, and no one's going," Aizawa suddenly said as he closed the list. His students looked at him surprised as he gave a smile. "That was just a rational deception to make sure you gave it your all during the tests."

"Say what?" Renhe thought. A Lot of the students freaked out from this news, Midoriya the most.

"I'm surprised no one else figured that out," the black haired girl who got the top spot commented. "I'm sorry, I guess I should've said something."

"Yeah, you should have," some students thought.

"Great motivation method," Rènhé thought sarcastically.

"That's it, we're done for today. Pick up a syllabus and read it over before tomorrow." Aizawa instructed as he dismissed his class.

After the first day ended, Rènhé went to the school roof, changed into his morphing outfit and put his clothes in his school bag before changing into his hawk form. As he flew over the school, he spotted Izuku Midoriya getting acquainted with the two students he met earlier, Tenya Iida and Ochako Uraraka. You made it this far Izuku, but you'd better get control of that power soon, there may not be second chances the next time you're left in the dust.

"Did you guys hear something?" Deku asked.

"I didn't hear anything," Ochako said.

"Neither did I," Tenya said. "Are you alright Midoriya?"

"Uh, I'm fine. It was probably nothing," Izuku dismissed.

"Whoops, I forgot people can hear me when I do that," Rènhé thought before quickly grabbing his bag and flying home.

The next day, the morpher landed by the school gate and changed back to himself before putting his school clothes on. As he walked towards the entrance he spotted the son of the number two hero ahead of him. "Hey Todoroki," he called, the ice-fire user glanced at his classmate but didn't respond. "Yesterday's tests were pretty crazy huh? Makes you wonder what other lessons our teacher has in store for us," Shoto still didn't answer him and just kept walking. "Okay, nice to meet you. Good talk." Rènhé said as he headed to class.

Rènhé had an English class with Present Mic as the teacher which seemed kind of boring but he managed. After that the students had lunch in the large cafeteria and they also had Modern literature that was taught by Cementoss. Soon Class 1-A found themselves waiting in their homeroom for their next lesson in hero training. "I…AM…HERE! Coming through the door like a hero!" All Might announced as he entered the classroom.

"The number one hero is seriously teaching us! Epic!" Rènhé thought.

"I can't believe it's really All Might!" Kaminari smiled.

"So he is a teacher at UA! This year's gonna be totally awesome!" Kirishima said excitedly.

"Is he wearing his Silver Age costume?" Asui asked.

All Might marched over to the teacher's desk and addressed his students. "Welcome to the most important class at UA High! Think of it as Heroing 101! Here you will learn the basics of being a hero! And what it means to fight in the name of good!" The students listened attentively as their instructor explained their class. All Might flexed before holding a card with the word 'Battle' on it. "Let's get into it! Today's lesson will pull no punches!"

"Fight training!" Bakugo said with a wicked grin on his face.

"Real combat?" Midoriya asked, looking a bit worried.

"But one of the keys to being a hero is…looking good!" All Might said as he pointed to the wall. Immediately, twenty panels came out, each holding a suitcase with a number on them. "These were designed for you based on your quirk registration forms you sent in before school started!" All the students cheered with excitement at getting the chance to wear their hero suits. "Get yourselves suited up and meet at training ground beta!"

"Yessir!" the class replied.

Moments later, the students came out and presented themselves in their costumes to their teacher. Rènhé's suit consisted of a red short-sleeve shirt with two large black stripes at the sides and an emblem on the center, black pants, a red belt, black fingerless gloves that stretched to his elbows and a black mask that covered the lower half of his face. The symbol on his chest was a red 'A' resting in a pair of fangs. "They say the clothes make the pros, young ladies and gentlemen, and behold you are the proof!" All Might declared. "Take this to heart! From now on, you are all…Heroes in training!"

The students stood ready for their combat training "This is getting me all revved up! You all look so cool!" All Might said. "Now, shall we get started, you bunch of newbies?"

With all of the students dressed and ready, the number one hero began to explain their training. "Now that you're ready, it's time for combat training!"

"Sir!" Iida raised his hand. "This is the fake city from our entrance exam. Does this mean we'll be conducting urban battles again?"

"Not quite! I'll be moving you two steps ahead!" All Might explained. "Most of the villain fights you see on the news take place outside, however, statistically speaking run-ins with the most dastardly evil-doers happen indoors! Think about it! Backroom deals! Home invasions! Secret underground lairs! Truly intelligent criminals stay hidden in the shadows! For this training exercise you'll be split into teams of Good guys and Bad guys and fight two on two indoor battles!"

"Isn't this a little advanced?" Asui questioned.

"The best training you get is on the battlefield! But remember, you can't just punch a robot this time, you're dealing with actual people this time!" All Might replied.

"Sir, will you be deciding who wins?" Yaoyorou asked.

"How much can we hurt the other team?" Bakugo asked.

"Do we have to worry about the losers getting expelled like earlier?" Uraraka asked with concern.

"Will you be splitting us up based on chance or comparative skills?" Iiad asked.

"I wasn't finished talking!" All Might groaned before pulling out a script. "Listen up! The situation is this; the villains have hidden a nuclear missile somewhere in their hideout! The heroes must try to foil their plans! To do that, the good guys have to either capture the villains or recover the weapon! Likewise, the bad guys succeed if they protect their payload or capture the heroes!" The hero then pulled out a box with lots written on it. "Time's limited, so we'll choose teams by drawing lots!"

"Isn't there a better way?" Iida wondered.

"Think about it, pros often have to team up with heroes from other agencies on the spot, so maybe that's the reason we're seeing that here." Izuku explained.

"I see, life is a random series of events. I apologize for my rudeness!" Iida said with a bow.

"No sweat! Let's draw!" All Might yelled.

Team A-Midoriya & Uraraka

Team B-Shoji & Todoroki

Team C-Mineta & Yaoyorozu

Team D-Bakugo & Iida

Team E-Ashido & Aoyama

Team F-Koda & Sato

Team G-Kaminari & Jiro

Team H-Asui & Tokoyami

Team I-Harugake, Ojiro & Ikimono

Team J-Kirishima & Sero

"So I'm on Team I huh?" Rènhé said. "So where are my partners?"

"Uh Hi. I'm Tooru Harugake, nice to meet you," a pair of gloves and boots greeted the morpher.

"Oh, Hi there. Sorry, I guess I didn't see you there," Rènhé said.

"Don't worry, I get that alot." Harugake said.

"Anyway, nice to meet you, I'm Rènhé Ikimono. Let's do our best!" the morpher said.

"I declare the first teams to fight will be…these guys!" All Might announced as he pulled a ball from the villain box and the hero box. Team D was from the villain and Team A from the hero box. "Team A will be the heroes and Team D will be the villains! Everyone else, head to the monitoring room to watch!" As the other students left, Bakugo and Deku stayed back a bit; the Hot-head looked at his opponent and glared at him. Though nervous, Deku clenched his fist and gave a determined look to his childhood friend. Bakugo was surprised by this, and growled. "Bad guys, you can go on in and get set up! In five minutes the good guys will be let loose and the battle will begin!"

"Yessir!" the class said.

"Young Iida and young Bakugo, the key to being successful in this challenge is to embody villainy! Think from the perspective of an evil-doer!" the Symbol of Peace told them.

"Got it!" Iida said.

"If things go too far, I'll step in!" All Might said.

"Understood."

After moments of preparation it was time for the battle trial to begin. "Alright! Let's begin the indoor combat training!" All Might said through a loudspeaker. "Team A and Team D, your time starts now!"

Izuku and Uraraka snuck in through the window and made their way towards the villains' hideout. Before long Bakugo appeared before the heroes and tried to strike them. Deku pushed Ochako out of the way and prepared to face his fiery friend. The Hot-head charged again but Deku was ready for him; he grabbed Bakugo's gauntlet right arm and flipped him over, slamming him on the ground. "You can call me Deku, but I'm not the same defenseless kid I was before! You hear me, I've changed! From now on Deku is the name of a hero!" The OFA user declared.

Bakugo glared at Izuku as he stood up, remembering another time he stood up to him. "Deku," he snarled, noticing that the green haired boy was trembling. "You're shaking in your boots, you're so scared! But you wanna fight me anyway! THAT'S WHY I HATE YOU!" he roared as his palms sparked.

Rènhé stared at the two UA students about to square off. "Hmm, Hot-head seems to have it out for Izuku." he thought. "Wonder how this will play out,"

The fight continued, Bakugo squared off with Midoriya while Ochako went to find the nuclear missile. The class learned that the heroes were at a disadvantage with the time limit and having to search for the weapon's location, if they wanted to win, they would have to overcome it. Ochako found the weapon and engaged Iida as he took on the persona of a true villain. Deku's knowledge of heroes kept him in the fight but Bakugo's anger increased as time went on. Bakugo used one of his gauntlets to unleash a massive explosion that shook the building on Deku. Though he dodged, the boy was stunned at his old friend's ferocity against him.

"Is that Hot-head insane?! He could've killed him with that blast!" Rènhé thought.

Forbidden from using his gauntlets to attack again, Bakugo attacks Deku and begins to thrash him violently. Seeing no other choice, Izuku decides to use his quirk against Bakugo; the two charge at each other and prepare to clash but at the last moment, Deku doesn't strike the villain but just uppercuts the area above him. The force of Deku's attack distracts Iida and allows Ochako to touch the nuclear missile just before time runs out, giving this match to the heroes. "Your combat training is over! The hero team wins!" All Might announced.

"What a weird way for this to end. The losers are practically untouched and the winners are both on the ground." Kaminari pointed.

"How does the old saying go? They've lost the battle but they won the war." Tokoyami commented.

"This class is intense." Asui said.

"Looks like Midoriya and Uraraka managed to pull it off, guess this is the kind of situation heroes experience, even in victory." Rènhé thought.

Once Izuku was taken to the infirmary Team D and Uraraka joined their classmates to review their battle. "Despite the results, the MVP of this exercise is young Iida!" All Might said, confusing most of the students.

"Shouldn't it be one of the heroes instead since they're the winners?" Asui questioned.

"Valid question! Why didn't I choose one of those two? Who has a guess?" All Might asked the students.

"Sir, I can tell you why!" Yaoyorozu raised her hand. "Iida embraced this challenge, he was the only one who adapted to his assigned role. Let me explain. Bakugo's judgment was clouded by a personal grudge against Midoriya. As you pointed out earlier, launching a large-scale attack indoors was a foolish move, it could've been disastrous. Similarly, Midoriya's plan was also poorly thought out considering the amount of damage he received, he rendered himself helpless, not smart. As for Uraraka, she let her guard down mid-battle and her final attack was far too reckless given the hypothetical stakes. If she treated the fake weapon as though it were real, she never would've used an imprecise move. Iida was fully prepared for his opponents arrival, had a strategy and never lost sight of his mission to protect the dummy weapon even if he was foiled in the end. Technically the hero team won, yes but they took advantage of the fact that this was training, they didn't respect the spirit of the trial." Everyone just stared at Yaoyorozu after she finished her very detailed explanation.

"This girl really has a good eye on her." All Might thought. "Yes, well you overlooked a few things. Iida could've relaxed a little bit more during the exercise. But otherwise, you nailed it!" he said, giving her a thumbs up.

"One should always start with the basics and devote themselves wholeheartedly to learning. That's the only real way to become a top hero." Yaoyorozu advised.

"Now then, time to blow this joint! Let's move on to the next match! Think about everything you saw and discussed as you tackle this training for yourself!" All Might told the class.

"Actually sir, I have a question!" Rènhé raised his hand.

"Yes, what is it young man?" All Might asked.

"It's not about the trial but more of the outcome or the aftermath." Rènhé said. "As we saw, the villains were in suitable condition while the heroes were exhausted. Though the weapon was deactivated, I think it's accurate to say the job isn't over for the heroes since their adversaries have not been truly defeated despite their failed plan. Has there ever been a scenario like that for pro heroes?"

"Hmm, interesting question young Ikimono!" All Might said. "Well, I can't say that I've ever personally been in that scenario but there are plenty of pros who have. When a villain's plan is foiled they tend to get desperate and violent similar to how Young Bakugo was to his opponent!"

"So there's a chance the villains would not lose the will to fight even with their plans ruined." Rènhé said as he glanced at Bakugo. "What would happen if they choose to keep fighting and the heroes are weakened?"

"Well, it's possible the heroes could pull off a miraculous win or even escape. Reinforcements could arrive and help detain the villains or force them to flee!" All Might answered.

"And if none of that happens?" Rènhé asked again, knowing where he was going with this.

"The heroes could meet their end!" All Might replied with a serious tone. "I won't lie to you Ikimono, many heroes have been in the scenario you described and have lost their lives. You can't always expect things to go your way. Some even question if it's worth saving others if you end up killed in the process! But that's why you're here!" The Symbol of Peace held out his hand and clenched it. "At U.A. we hope to instill the hero spirit into your very being! So that you'll understand why we do this despite the risk! And as your teachers, it's our duty to prepare for that possible scenario, so that if you face it, you'll have better chances of getting out alive!"

"I understand. Thank you sir." Rènhé nodded.

"Match 2! Team B will be the heroes and Team I will be the villains!"All Might announced. The two teams immediately went to their places with the villains hiding on one of the floors in Battle Building B and the heroes standing ready at the entrance.

Rènhé cracked his knuckles in preparation while Ojiro flexed his arms. "Hey Ojiro, Rènhé!" Harugake called to him. "Let's get serious. I'm gonna take off all my clothes and totally disappear." though her clothes were only gloves and boots, she did as she said and removed them.

"Good idea! This'll give us an advantage." Rènhé said.

"Don't you think it's a little weird that there's a naked girl here with us?" Ojiro whispered, getting the two boys to blush a bit.

"Uh, just don't look okay," Harugake asked feeling embarrassed.

"What's the difference?" Ojiro asked.

"Don't worry,we're totally focused on the trial." Rènhé assured before placing his hand under his chin to think. "We're up against Shoji and Todoroki and we have the advantage in numbers. Shoji's quirk are those arms, so he's got to be physically strong but I might have something to handle that, it's Todoroki I'm worried about. That ice is from his quirk so he can most likely freeze things. The question is, how does he freeze things? Is it a blast-like attack or does it rely on contact? Does he need to see what he's freezing or not?"

"Hey Rènhé, what are you thinking about?" Harugake asked.

"Just trying to decide what to morph into," Rènhé replied.

"Morph into?" Ojiro inquired but got no answer.

"I think it's best to use something that can survive cold enviroment incase Todoroki tries to freeze us to get to the bomb." The morpher then moved to stand behind the weapon where he could not be seen.

"What are you doing Rènhé?" Ojiro asked.

"Never mind me, just be ready." Rènhé advised.

"You don't have to be scared. Just relax, we've got this!" the invisible tried to encourage.

"I'm not scared. You guys just keep an eye on the entrance." Rènhé told her.

"Look alive kids! Show us you're the embodiment of good! Or evil! Let's go!" All Might shouted before pressing the horn to declare the second match had begun.

Shoji stood in the hallway, shifting one of his tentacles into an ear to listen with. He then changed it into a mouth and used it to speak. "Two of them are in the hall on the north side of the fourth floor and I think the other one's there too, though I can only hear the movement of two people. Whoever it is, one of them's barefoot. I'm sure the invisible one plans to sneak up and surprise us."

"For your own safety, go outside." Todoroki instructed as he walked past Shoji. "I'm sure our opponents plan to fight a defensive battle. But we've already won." he placed his hand on the side of the hallway and ice began to emerge from his right hand and foot. Within seconds, the ice began to spread and the entire building was encased in thin ice.

"Guess distance or sight isn't an issue for him." Rènhé thought. "But that was faster than I thought."

"Ow ow ow! My feet are stuck!" Harugake stated.

"This quirk is insane." Ojiro commented while struggling.

In the waiting room, the rest of the class and All Might were shivering from the entire building being frozen solid. "He incapacitated his opponents without harming his teammate or the weapon! Take close note of his technique students!" the Pro Hero advised.

"Whoa! He's so strong!" Kirishima commented. Even Bakugo was stunned by Todoroki's display of power and skill.

Ojiro, Harugake, the heroes probably headed here right now. I'd say get ready but… Rènhé said.

"Ah! What was that voice in my head?" Harugake yelled.

"I heard it too. What was that?" Ojiro asked.

Calm down. It's just me. Rènhé replied.

"Rènhé? Where are you? And how are you doing this?" Ojiro inquired.

It comes with the quirk. And where I am isn't important, just know I'm still in the room and the heroes are about to show up. Rènhé told her.

"What do we do?" Harugake asked.

Hang tight for now. I got this! Rènhé said. Just then, the ice and fire user entered the room to see nothing but the ice he created and two footprints on the icy floor. "Huh, so Todoroki came alone."

Ojiro prepared himself to fight as the ice user approached him. "Pry yourself up if you want, but it might be hard to fight me with no skin on your feet." Todoroki said as he glanced around the room but couldn't see anyone else. "Harugake's invisible but the footprints in the ice tell me that she was caught. And Ojiro's right in front of me. I can't see Ikimono, did he leave the room to attack us?" he thought. He then presses his earpiece to contact his teammate. "Shoji, do you hear anyone moving through the building?"

"No. I'm sure that our opponents haven't left the room with the weapon ever since they entered." Shoji replied. "Is something wrong?"

"I'm in the room and I can see that Harugake and Ojiro are here but Ikimono's missing," Todoroki reported.

"Do you want me to come up and look for him?" Shoji asked.

"Don't bother. Just stay outside, this'll be over soon." Todoroki instructed as he walked to the weapon. "If Ikimono's not here then he can't defend the weapon. This is still our victory."

"Oh, no." Harugake muttered.

"Dammit," Ojiro said.

I hope you weren't expecting it to be that easy Todoroki. Rènhé said.

"What?" Todoroki looked around but saw nothing. "Who said that?"

"Uh, why is Todoroki looking around?"

"And where is that Ikimono guy?"

You look confused Todoroki, having trouble spotting me? Rènhé asked.

"Ikimono?" Todoroki asked.

I'll make it easy for you. I'm right behind you. Rènhé replied.

Todoroki turned around but saw no one there. "I don't know how you're doing that, but you're clearly trying to mess with me and waste time." the ice-fire user said.

Very perceptive hero, I am indeed trying to mess with you. But I am also right behind you. Rènhé assured. Still confused? Maybe this will help. Just don't hurl. In a few seconds, something on the ground began growing bigger in front of Todoroki. Everyone watching cringed at the sight of Rènhé reverting to a human, his insect part disappearing in an unpleasant way as he continued to grow. When he finished, he flexed his arms. "Feels good to be back, but dang it's cold in here!"

Todoroki quickly got over his uneasiness and tried to grab Rènhé but the Morpher managed to grab his right arm and toss him out of the room with the weapon. Todoroki gets up as his opponent steps out to meet him. "What just happened?" he inquired.

"Remember, be the villain." Rènhé thought before answering smugly. "I had already deduced that you would use an ice attack to immobilize us, the question was how you would do it. I'll admit that your attack hit us faster than I expected, but I was prepared. I have a few morphs that can withstand the coldest of temperatures, including Tardigrades,"

"Tardi-what?" Todoroki asked.

"Just a bug that lives in a cold environment." Rènhé explained. "All I needed was a place to hide so that the ice wouldn't reach and I had the perfect hiding place."

"The weapon," Todoroki said.

"Very good. Your ice barely touched the weapon and thus left me unharmed. Leaving you vulnerable to my attack." Rènhé said. "And btw, freezing the feet, pretty harsh for a hero. Any effort to free yourself could result in peeling off your own skin, so it's best to remain still until you melt the ice huh? Too bad that's not gonna work on me. One more thing," the Morpher pulled out the earpiece he took when he threw the ice-fire user and crushed it. "Now you can't call for backup. Meaning the only way for you to win is through me." Rènhé suddenly found ice around his legs, keeping him in place.

"You talk too much." Todoroki said.

"Then I guess I should stop talking and start fighting!" In mere seconds, the Morpher's body began to change as his face stretched a bit, his muscles expanded and he grew bigger, his teeth changed into fangs as he grew white fur. The ice around his feet cracked and shattered from his size increase. Rènhé fell on his hands as they changed into paws. His transformation was finally complete, as a large Polar Bear stood before the Son of Endeavor. Rènhé roared as he stood up and tried to swipe at his opponent.

In the watch room, the other students and their teacher were still shivering from the cold as they observed Rènhé change into a predator. "Young Ikimono knows how to apply his abilities to the situation. And if he's anything like his mother, there's no telling how many forms he has in his arsenal." All Might thought.

Todoroki dodges the strike and runs off with Rènhé quickly chasing after him. The ice user led his adversary to a corner and placed his hand on the ground; ice spikes emerged and pushed Rènhé into the ceiling without piercing him. "I'm sorry about this, but you're more dangerous than I expected." Todoroki admitted. "Stay still and you won't be impaled." Todoroki turns to leave but stops when he hears a groaning noise; he looks back to see the morpher squirming and pushing through the ice, cutting his paws, legs and abdomen as he broke the ice and fell to the floor. Everyone watched in horror as Rènhé stood up, dripping blood from his wounds as he roared at his opponent before morphing back into a human.

"Do you have any idea how much that hurt, hero?" Rènhé asked furiously.

"How did you do that?" Todoroki questioned.

"Any damage I receive in morph is healed when I revert to my original form." Rènhé answered. "But I guess the same can't be said when you get hurt!" He then morphed into a white wolf and bared his fangs. Now, let's get back to me ripping you to shreds! Rènhé lunged at Todoroki who ducked and created an ice wall in between him and Rènhé. The morpher crashed into the ice before growling.

"This should keep you back long enough for me to get to the weapon." Todoroki said.

Rènhé changes back into a human before quickly morphing into a musk ox; he lets out a growl before pawing the dirt and charging at the ice wall. He rammed into it, backed up and rammed into it again before it shattered. Todoroki in shock as Rènhé shook his head and before glaring at the ice user. A valiant effort hero, but now we end this! the morpher says as he prepares to charge again.

"The weapon has been neutralized! The hero team wins!" All Might announces.

The two students look surprised at the announcement. But how did…Shoji! Rènhé said as he morphed back. Just as he guessed, Mezo Shoji was in the room with Harugake and Ojiro; even with his classmate wrapping his tail around his waist in an effort to stop him, he manages to place his hand on the nuclear bomb. "Guess he got tired of waiting. I should've expected that huh?" Todoroki didn't say anything as he placed his hand on the wall, releasing a massive heatwave that melted the ice around the entire building.

"Ah ah ah! Hot hot hot!" Harugake said.

"Heat too?" Ojiro said.

"So he can use heat as well," Rènhé thought. "Looks like we lost. Congrats."

"It's not a big deal. We were playing on different levels, so this was expected." Todoroki replied. Rènhé shrugged at that comment before following the son of Endeavor to the monitoring room.

"Holy crap!" Sado said.

"That guy's kind of intimidating." Kaminari comments.

"He got in through recommendation so he must be good." Asui said.

"What about Rènhé, he's pretty tough."

"Crazy is more like it. Did you see what he did to free himself?"

"Is it just me or does his quirk seem familiar?"

"Changing into different animals, not many have that quirk,"

"Isn't there a Pro Hero with that same ability?"

"Moving on! Time to gather around for a review of the second match, after that we'll jet on over to the next battle!" All Might declared.

"Yes sir!" The class replied.

The participants of the battle returned to the class and their teacher. "Alright, now that was quite the match. Despite their efforts, the villains were defeated; who wants to guess why?" All Might inquired. To his surprise, Rènhé was the one who raised his hand."Ah, young Ikimono. Go on then, tell us what you believe was the reason for your downfall."

"Yes sir. I am responsible for our defeat." Rènhé admitted. "I had anticipated what would happen but I didn't share with my comrades before the attack; and after I escaped Todoroki's ice wave, I left them in the trapped to fight myself. I had assumed Shoji wouldn't interfere and that I could fight Todoroki one on one. I was more focused on the fight than defending the weapon with my team."

"Indeed. You neglected to assist your classmates and as a result they were unable to protect the weapon." All Might said. "Never underestimate your opponents, whether hero or villain you have to rely on your team and not get too wrapped up in one thing."

"Yes sir." Rènhé said before facing his teammates and lowering his head. "I'm sorry you guys, I should've been a better team player."

"You don't have to worry about it. It's not that big a deal." Ojiro said.

"Yeah, this is a trial after all. You'll get better, all of us will." Harugake assured him.

"Alright then, onto the next match!" All Might said. The next match was Team J vs Team H, then Team C against Team G and finally Team F against Team E. Once the battle trials had ended, All Might had his students gathered outside training ground beta for a final lecture. "That's a Wrap! Super work! You really stepped up to the plate, and we didn't have any major injuries other than Young Midoriya! You should be proud, excellent first day of training all around!"

"It's nice to hear some encouraging words after our homeroom class. Mr. Aizawa was kind of a buzzkill." Asui said and her classmates agreed.

"I'm happy to bring such staggering positivity to my students!" All Might exclaimed. "That's all for now folks! Change out of your costumes and get back to your classes. I should go and check on Young Midoriya's progress! Now, watch how a real Pro exits, like he's got somewhere to be!" The young heroes watched in amazement as the Symbol of Peace sped away down the hall.

The students did as instructed and resumed their regularly scheduled classes. When Deku finally returned from recovering; Rènhé watched as the green haired teen was immediately greeted by many of his classmates eager to introduce themselves and make his acquaintance just before Deku left to speak to Bakugo who had also left early.

The Morpher's thoughts were brought back to his own battle against the Son of Endeavor. "I've still got a long way to go, but I'm sure that the next time Todoroki and I go at it, we won't be playing on different levels!" he thought while clenching his fist.

A/N: And that's a Wrap! Sorry my chapters seem to be a bit short, we haven't reached the major events just yet. Anyway, I hope y'all stick around for the future chapters, I promise it'll get more eventful and exciting. Until then, TTFN! AntiHero out!
