A/N: 60th Chapter! Let's fricking go!

Light Seeker 001: Heck yeah we'll see the Stuka! As well as the BF-109. And unfortunately, I wasn't aware of Surtr until I looked him up just now.

"No…" Kikiva breathed, 'They couldn't have found me…right? I was so careful!'

"You must come with me! Gröer himself arrived this morning, they know Kikiva. They will take you, and your daughter and…"

Suddenly, cracks rang out in the night, as they heard the dull motoring of cars.

They were close, too close.

"There's a sewer exit we can take!" The man insisted,

"Let me get Johanna." She nodded, running upstairs, she quickly swept the girl in her arms.

"Mama…?" The girl yawned,

"It'll be okay, my fox." She smiled weakly, and the girl, seemingly content with this, went back to sleep.

The man chuckled, "Little Anna can sleep through anything."

"She has hair like snow, a heart of fire, and the mind of a fox Nikilan." Kikiva replied the man nodded.

They quickly exited the home through a backdoor, avoiding the main streets and detection by Marley.

"Where will we go?"

"The Mid-East. They treat Eldians more brutally, but I have forged papers, so we won't be subjected to blood tests. After that, we'll catch a boat to Hizuru."

Kikivia nodded and they kept running, Johanna was awake now, but silent, as if sensing that her mother couldn't be bothered with questions right now.

"Down here." Nikilan told them, leading them into the sewers.

"Los! Los!" Nikilan hissed at them, and Kikiva nodded.

'Johanna…I'm so sorry!' To be honest, Kikiva wasn't sure what she was apologizing for. For being born? For giving birth to her? Who knew?

Suddenly, they heard a series of drainholes grating against the ground above them, they we're being opened.

"Down!" Nikilan screamed, as grenades fell in through them.

"In here, General!" A PSA soldier shouted, dropping into the drain hole, he leveled a rifle at them. Soon, he was joined by innumerable more.

"It's her." The navy blue-coated PSA officer scanned a picture and pointed at them. "Take her and the child. The man…we don't need him."

As soon as the words came out of his mouth, three PSA officers took aim and fired, and Johanna screamed as Nikilan dropped to the ground, his head turned slightly to meet her eyes.

And she saw an emotion she'd never forget. She…saw hope in his eyes.

He smiled, and closed his eyes.

Kikiva turned to the officers. One roughly grabbed Johanna, screaming, she tried to reach for her mother, and her mother likewise, only for both of them to be shoved apart and taken roughly up into the street.

Outside, hundreds of their neighbors and friends were lined up. Looking at them disdainfully as if they'd somehow caused this.

"Herr Gröer." The PSA officer shoved them in front of General Gröer.

Gröer smiled sadistically, "It's been eighteen years Kikiva."

"Gröer Bering." Kikiva spat, "You lost weight."

"Always so condescending. Even when you're kneeling." Gröer scoffed.

"Maybe because you're simply inferior." Kikiva spat, "You…and all your other Marleyan dogs!" Kikiva shouted at them.

Gröer gritted his teeth, and slapped her. "Bitch!" He hissed at her. Kikiva looked up at him defiantly.

"Wouldn't you like to know?" He grinned, as if his prior outburst hadn't even happened, "How I found you?"

"Go fuck yourself." Kikiva snarled, but he continued unmolested.

"You should've stayed away." He said, "But you couldn't. Could you? Oh no. You loved him too much, and that was your downfall."

"You'll never understand, Gröer." Kikiva told him, "And that will be your downfall."

"Who said I needed to?" Gröer squatted to meet her eyes, "Now…I'll finish what you and your fellow restorationists started. And then, we'll move on to that damn Island. And we'll wipe out the last of you and your relatives. And we will finally achieve a true thousand-year-reich."

"You're insane." Kikiva spat, "You will never survive without the Eldian people. We-!" She turned to them, raising her voice so all could hear "-are what makes Marley great! We determine whether this nation of inferiors prospers or falls under its own weight! Our ancestors' sins do not define who we are today!" She was ignoring Gröer now, speaking to her people.

Instead of showing any signs of defiance, they turned away from her. And Johanna couldn't help but wonder 'Why? Why aren't they doing anything?'

"See." Gröer said confidently, "Look at them, sheep. It doesn't matter how many of them there are. Those raised in captivity, die in it. And your ideals will die with you."

Raising his P40, he unloaded a bullet right into her chest. With a loud crack! Kikiva fell back, briefly looking to the sky before falling backwards, her head turned, her eyes meeting with Johanna's.

"My ideals won't die…my daughter…my hope…she'll live…" She smiled at Johanna, and reached out for her, grabbing her hand as she died.

"You'll never be alone." Her mothers last words to her,

"Mama!" The girl screamed, as her mothers hand fell out of hers.

"Sir…was that wise?" A PSA officer asked nervously, "She was Royal Blood, wasn't she?"

"We have her daughter. Besides, they're just Hajime bastards, Royal-blooded because a Hizurian couldn't keep it in his pants. Nothing more."

The officer nodded, "What do we do with them?"

Gröer grinned, "The collaborators, bring them forward."

About a dozen or so Eldians were brought to their feet, and presented to them.

"For the deliberate withholding of valuable information on a wanted person, they will be executed on the spot." Gröer ordered, and before they even had a chance to panic, the Marleyans brought up their rifles, and gunned them down.

"Those who were identified as associates of Kikiva Hajime and her daughter, bring them forward!" Gröer yelled, taking a sadistic pleasure in the fear as families pushed their sons and daughters forward. They desperately tried to melt back into the crowd, but no one would let them back in, soon, about a hundred or so more Eldians were brought forward.

"They will be sent to work-camps. Take them!" Gröer yelled,

"The girl?"

"She will be put on the work-camps train, but she'll be transferred to Liberio rather than a camp."

Gröer was about to leave, when he noticed something in her breast pocket, it looked like paper.

He kneeled over her, and quietly picked it up, and it was revealed to be two separate photos.

One was of Kikiva with a set of two children, one blonde haired, and the other was the white-haired Johanna.

The second was Kikiva with another white-haired child.

He turned it over, and read what was on the back.

And laughed triumphantly.

The next hours of her life was a blur, she was whisked out of the internment zone with the other prisoners. She watched in wonder the comparative luxury regular Marleyans lived in, and desperately wished her mother was there with her, and not lying amongst the dead bodies.

Suddenly, someone backhanded her away from the bars.

"Move it, you Fritz scum!" It wasn't a Marleyan, but rather, one of her fellow Eldians. "If it wasn't for you and your whore mother, we wouldn't be in this mess!"

She backed away, whimpering in fear. The man approached him, and kicked her. "You should just die!"

"Help!" She screamed, but the others just turned away, or worse, joined in or cheered him on. Soon, she was being bombarded with the soles of shoes and fists.

Suddenly, the doors opened, and Johanna saw a dim light. The last thing she remembered was Marleyan soldiers shouting and the sickening crack of rifle butts as the blacked out…

When she woke up next, she was in a cell. It was small, with hay on the floor. Clearly, it was little more than a renovated cattle car.

"Where…am…I?" Johanna asked,

"A train." A boy said to her, "A work-camps train."

"Work…camp?" She had heard Gröer mention it, but she didn't know what they were.

"You're young. If you're lucky, they'll take you into the military."

"What's a work camp?" Johanna asked, and the boy looked at her with dull, broken eyes.

"The End of the Line." He said, and he scooted away, as if being in her mere presence was bad luck.

How long had passed? Minutes? Days? Weeks? Who knew. Johanna was tossed some bread and water after an unspecified interval of time, and she pounced upon it. Moving to devour it, she ate like an animal, her hands moving only between her mouth and the crumbs of bread and water. Picking it off the dirty floor.

Her hunger satiated, she retreated to a corner, when suddenly, a rock came and struck her on the head.

Gasping in pain, she curled in a ball as she heard someone cheer, "Hey! You got the Fritz rat!"

It wasn't the Marleyans this time either, it was a group of Eldians who shared the car with her. Even though she was separated from them through the bars, the harassment continued. They threw whatever they could find and when they had nothing left to throw, they settled for throwing insults at her instead, leaving her to wonder

"Why mama? Why do they hate me?"

Gröer took a sip of his wine. An eighteen year grudge match finally ended. He pulled out the photos he'd taken. What a fool to keep these on her! With this, he would have no choice but to concede to him, lest it got out she'd bedded an Eldian woman, of Hajime blood no less!

"Herr Bering." A lieutenant came to him, and he quickly pocketed the photos.

"Yes?"

"We're approaching Liberio."

"Is the girl still alive?"

"Yes, but the other Eldians…they're acting like savages. They're throwing rocks and harassing her. Should we intervene?"

Gröer scoffed, in his rage, he'd unintentionally freed Kikiva, her daughter would pay in her stead.

"No. Let them." Gröer said dismissively, "What happens with animals stays with the animals."

The lieutenant nodded.

Liberio, Northern Front HQ

Now that the brass had all gone their separate ways, Calvi had returned to Vienza to plan the war. Gröer - as usual - went to deal with unspecified business. Karl was headed to the Axis Archipelago to assemble the Western Fleet. While Norman and Hermann were headed for Echart.

Suddenly, the phone began to ring.

"Commander Magath speaking." He said, and Gröer was on the line.

"I have someone for you, Commander Magath." Gröer said triumphantly,

Magath was confused, "Who?"

"You'll see." Gröer said cryptically, leaving Magath in absolute confusion.

God, how he hated that man.

Johanna finally had a moment of peace. The other Eldians were all asleep.

'Why…?' She wondered, all her and mama wanted was to live out their lives. Then Gröer came. Damn him! She bit her fingernail, it was all his fault. He killed mama, he turned their friends against him, all of this…was his fault!

She inhaled sharply, there was a cut on her lip. Instinctively, she licked the cut.

Suddenly, she felt…stronger somehow. Her small cuts and bruises began to mend and close. The aching from the projectiles had disappeared.

'What did I do?!' She wondered in a panic. She drank her blood and then…

She suddenly remembered, she didn't have a single scar. Whenever she licked a wound, it always seemed to close, along with any other injuries.

She thought back, what was the pattern? What triggered the healing?

Then, it hit her.

The healing never started unless she swallowed her own blood.

Which meant if she drank her blood, she would heal faster.

Johanna chuckled, she would survive. For mama, for Nikilan, for everyone who Gröer made suffer and turned into mother, even for those across the sea on Paradis Island.

For everyone, she would live.

An unspecified amount of time later, Johanna was roughly taken out. She was used to this by now, their rough treatment of her, she'd heal it later.

By experimenting with the ability, she discovered that the amount of healing that took place depended on how much was consumed. Meaning she could control how fast or slow it healed by drinking a certain quantity of blood.

October 8th, Liberio

"I hope you enjoyed the trip, Princess." Gröer said sarcastically, Johanna looked down, and said nothing. She wasn't stupid, right now, she needed to pretend. To lie.

To survive.

"W-where's mama…" Johanna begged, false tears staining her cheeks, "I want mama…"

Gröer smiled, "Kikiva is dead girl. Six feet under, where whores like her belong."

Johanna held her anger in check, and wailed, "Where's mama!"

Gröer waved them off, as if telling them to 'deal with it' and got off the train

She was escorted off the train, not meeting the hateful eyes of the other Eldians.

The PSA officers led them to a vehicle. Where she looked up, and met the eyes of Theo Magath.

A/N: Holy hell...this is a...dark chapter. To say the least.
