Guest: Yeah, holy shit. I never really thought I'd go back to writing dark stuff like that again. But here we are, watching a little girl get sexually harassed.
Super Comrade: Indeed. It certainly was something.
The first thing Magath thought was "What kind of sick joke is this?" He was late for the Warrior Program orientation for a…girl on the verge of death?!
The girl was dirty and disheveled, her white hair brown turning black with dirt. She was bruised, and there were multiple scars from cuts.
"She's of Royal Blood." Gröer said, as if that explained everything. "I trust you'll be able to take care of her."
Magath wanted to yell at him, but all he could ask was: "Why me?"
Gröer shrugged apathetically, "I would do it myself, but this is your jurisdiction."
Magath scanned Gröer, and nodded. "Follow me."
Before Johanna left, Gröer grabbed her.
"I'll never be far behind. Don't forget that." He hissed, "I will be watching you."
Johanna shot him a look of such fury and hatred that he nearly staggered back a few steps. But her face returned to impassiveness once again.
Gröer tch'ed, and turned around sharply, back towards the train.
'This was the business he needed to take care of?' Magath wondered, 'Was she retrieved during an Aktion, perhaps?'
"What is your name?" Magath asked, and the girl didn't answer.
"Respond to Commander Magath!" Koslow demanded, but the girl was still silent.
Magath looked forward, the girl was so frightened she wasn't even willing to speak
'Don't give him anything.' Her instincts told her, and she didn't. Gröer, while cruel, was predictable. He believed himself superior, and as such, loved seeing his victims grovel.
Johanna walked with Magath in silence, and rode in his car without saying a word.
"I think she's mute Kommandant." Koslow said,
"No doubt." Magath sighed, "Not to mention, none of this has been reported to Calvi yet. We'll just place her in a cell and see what to do."
'Another prison.' Johanna thought apathetically.
Suddenly, Magath handed her something in wrapping paper, and in an instant, Johanna dove for it like an animal. Ripping the paper and spreading it everywhere, it revealed a sandwich, which she readily devoured.
Koslow laughed at the sight of the girl, but Johanna didn't care. She didn't realize how hungry she was.
The girl looked at them, as if expecting them to hit her.
'Damn that sadist…' Even for the spawn of the devil, this was too far. But what could he do, really? Magath was struggling to maintain influence on the Warrior Unit; he couldn't afford to get into a political battle with Gröer.
He turned into the Headquarters, but before they got out, he handed her a new type of Armband, a green one with a golden star. For Royal Blood.
"Wear it." He demanded, Johanna nodded, complying silently and getting out of the car.
"Soldier!" Magath called, "Take this girl to a cell!"
The soldier saluted. "Yes, Kommandant!"
She was shackled by the hands, and taken away. Along the way, they passed a courtyard, where Magath split off from them and approached a stage, on it, a group of other people were already on stage, all with red armbands, which her mother had taught her stood for Honorary Marleyans.
Johanna briefly made eye contact with a brown-haired girl with a red armband. The girl gasped in what was - horror? That was a first.
The soldier struck her, "Keep walking!" He demanded, and she lowered her eyes and complied silently.
Gabi watched the girl get hit by the soldier, and forced to keep walking, and she winced.
'Who was she?' Everything about her screamed beaten, from the way her white hair was turning brown with dirt, her body looking so fragile like it would snap at any moment, her sunken face,
Then she turned and met her eyes, eyes that were lit with the fire of an emotion she couldn't quite place. Determination? Hatred? A mix of both? Or was it something else? Something she couldn't possibly comprehend at her young age?
She shook it off. She turned back to the Commander.
"Congratulations, Warriors." He began. "And welcome to the 09th Marleyan Warrior Corps! Here, you will compete for the honor of obtaining one of the Titans currently possessed by Marley!"
Gabi looked ahead fiercely, 'I'm going to become a warrior…so I can slaughter those devils on that island!'
Nonetheless, as Magath continued to speak, the girl's eyes continued to bore into her, long beyond the time.
Johanna was pushed into a damp cell somewhere in the Headquarters. Getting to her feet, she instantly scanned it for anything she could utilize. Whether as a weapon, or an escape or simply to survive another day.
There was nothing.
She sat down and looked out the window. Watching as the birds flew past and wishing she could join them.
"Hey." Someone whispered to Fine.
Fine ignored them, believing the voice to belong to someone else.
"Hey." They said again, this time, Fine responded.
"Yes?" She said, without looking back.
"You don't have an armband." Suddenly, the boy talking to her handed a brownish-grey armband to her.
"I don't need it," Fine said,
"Why not?" The boy asked
"I'm a Tybur," Fine replied,
"Tybur?" The boy asked in confusion, "Then why are you here?"
"Are you implying I shouldn't be here?" Fine shot him an offended look,
"No…it's just that I didn't expect to see one here. I mean…it's so rare. You guys don't need to be Warriors. You could live in luxury unlike the rest of us."
Fine didn't respond, but simply asked, "What is your name?"
"It's Falco. Falco Grice."
"Good to meet you, Falco, I'm Fine Tybur."
Following Magath's speech, all the future Warriors had to undergo a physical exam. The nurse, however, despite being a Marleyan, seemed somewhat nervous at giving Fine a physical.
"P-please stand on this platform." The nurse stuttered, and Fine complied. She brought out a measuring stick and marked Fine's height.
"55 inches." She noted.
This process continued, Fine remained in stoic silence and soon joined the few warriors who finished.
"Huh?" One cadet noticed her without an armband. "Why don't you have an armband, like the rest of us?"
Fine looked at her, "I don't need one."
"Well, you're Eldian, so I think you do." The girl countered,
"Not if you're a Tybur. Which I am." Fine shot back, and the girl backed off.
"You know…you should try to be nicer to the others." Falco approached her,
"Hmph, they keep asking about my armband." Fine huffed,
Gabi fumed, 'Does she think she's any better than us?' She wondered, just because she was a Tybur didn't mean she got to look down on the rest of them.
Gabi looked up, where she saw a set of bars, and a face behind them.
'It's the girl from earlier!' She realized. As if she could sense Gabi's stares, she locked eyes with her, before suddenly getting away from the bars.
"...what the?" She wondered.
By the time physicals and the other parts of orientation were over, it was already time for dismissal.
All the Warriors received yellow armbands as a sign of their status, Gabi wore hers proudly as she walked home.
Still, that girl never left her mind. Who was she? She'd never seen a green armband like hers. She shook her head, no. She was loyal to Marley, what occurred was none of her business.
And despite that…
Sighing, she turned around. And headed back for the Warrior Headquarters.
Alone, Johanna began to sing:
"I wonder what you might see if you look down on the world up from the sky?
I wanted to go someplace else that wasn't here
I always dreamt in my younger days what would be waiting for me at the end of the vast world
Something overwhelmingly absurd, perhaps?"
Suddenly, she stopped as the door opened, as she expected, they were Marleyan soldiers.
She shifted into the corner, making herself appear as non-threatening as possible.
"I told you, she's a nice thing isn't she?" One of the soldiers pinched her cheeks.
"Yeah…nice and untouched." A portly soldier grinned, Johanna reeled back. What were they planning to do to her?
She backed away from them, but suddenly one of them grabbed her, and ripped off her sleeve, and began feeling her arm.
Panicked, she stepped on the soldiers foot and scrambled for the corner.
"Little bitch!" The soldier grabbed her, "Hold her down!"
Johanna squirmed as the soldiers undid her pants and ripped out her dirty panties, the portly soldier began to undo his own…
Johanna couldn't look, closing her eyes, she couldn't help but cry out.
"Shut her up!" Instantly one of the Marleyans placed a hand on her mouth, instantly, she bit into it.
"Crap! She bit me!" The Marleyan reeled, and Johanna used the distraction to get free of his grip. Without the soldier holding him down, she tried to escape, but she was wrestled down once again.
Suddenly, the voice of a girl broke through the soldiers hurried whispers.
"Hey!"
