Super Comrade: Things are about to get all kinds of epic.

Once he finished his speech, Alto inhaled deeply, finally noticing the darkening in the corners of his vision.

He was vaguely aware of Eren coughing up a red substance, and Mikasa rushing over to him worriedly.

'Oh shit.' Was Alto's last thought as he hacked up a glob of blood, before dropping to the floor.

"Eren!" Mikasa rushed over to him with her usual protectiveness. The boy was out cold, exhausted from using the Founding Titan, blood trickled from his nose and mouth.

"We should've expected this…" Hanji muttered, "Of course, using the Founding Titan must require immense amounts of stamina."

Mina cradled the unconscious Alto, as the Scouts proceeded to open the gate to let the newly freed Eldians in…

Alto slowly regained consciousness, and woke up in a bed next to Eren with Mina by his side.

"You're awake!" Mina hugged him,

"What…how long have I been out?" Alto asked,

"A few hours." Erwin approached him, "It seems that the Founding is like a muscle, the more you utilize it, the easier it is to use."

"Meaning a large scale act like the Rumbling…"

"-Would kill them as is." Hanji interrupted, "We can assume that."

Eren gritted his teeth, 'Damn it…if I can't use the Founding Titan consistently without passing out…how can we possibly expect to beat Marley?''

"Nonetheless, we freed countless Eldian civilians, many of whom may have skills that we need." Erwin noted,

Alto nodded, at least some other good things came out of this.

How long had it been?

Hours? Days? Months? Years?

Erika could barely remember what it was like not to crave human flesh. Not to wander the cold mountains in a vain search for food. To plead with her body to listen to her, only for it to ignore her every time.

After an unbearable amount of time of wandering Paradis's northern mountains, she finally found her way to the walls. Where all she could do was watch them dully and wait for the next day.

She remembered why she was titanized. Following the Purge of Liberio in 832, millions of Eldians were arrested due to having relations - no matter how close or distant it was - to the Restorationist. If you had so much as bought goods from one, you were sent to a work camp or worse - titanized.

Erika was titanized due to her uncle, Dearker, was discovered to be an Restorationist informer that had infiltrated their local Eldischerat. Everyone that was related or befriended to him was arrested, and titanified, and so there they were today.

Erika looked up at the sky, running her hands over her body, and crying tears of pure joy.

"...Erika?" A woman came up to her, it was her mother!

"Mama!" She cried out, hugging the woman, and the woman hugged her back. She'd lived!

"Attention!" Someone called out to them, and they gasped. From the open gate, men with new kinds of rifles they'd never seen before came to them, her mother clutched her daughter fearfully.

"My name is Dot Pyxis! I am the commander of the Garrison Regiment here on Paradis Island! As I'm sure you are aware, you have just been freed from titanification via the power of Eren Jaeger and Alto Burke! I must ask that you remain calm until you can be ID'd properly, we will then proceed to assist you in locating your relatives. However, I must prepare you for the worst, in our ignorance many of your brethren were killed in our own defense." Pyxis explained, motioning towards them, the Garrison proceeded to distribute clothes to the unclothed Eldians, who - albeit distrustfully - took them.

Erika muttered a small thank you as a Garrison soldier proceeded to give both her and her mother cloaks.

Out of the corner of her eye, Erika noticed blonde haired woman simply take her cloak in silence, standing in front of the steaming corpse of the titan she emerged from, it's face still contorted in a psychotic grin as it disintegrated.

Alto nodded as the Pyxis reported to him about the proceedings of the assimilation of the freed Eldians.

"They're - for the most part - cooperative. There are a few altercations between resistant Eldians, but aside from that, they're adjusting quite well, however…" Pyxis trailed off,

"Close to none of them trust us." Alto finished, and Pyxis nodded.

"Justifiably so, if what was said in Dr. Jaeger's journals are true, then they believe we are no more than devils who left them to the Marleyans. Of course, their newfound freedom has likely changed that, but still, they've had that ideology ingrained in them for years."

"For now, we should focus on rehabilitating them. Once we can ascertain who had what skills, we can put them to work in the appropriate sectors." Alto unfolded his blanket.

"Are you sure you should be up so early?" Pyxis said stoically.

"I can't sit in bed all day, and Eren would probably agree with me." Alto said. "There's too much to be done."

Alto slid on his uniform, and left the room.

Kavalan

"Are you sure of this?" Magath asked, paling.

"I'm sure, it was the Founding Titan." Evangelica nodded.

"This makes the Scout Fleet more vital than ever." Karl said, "The Z90 has just launched and will be there within a few hours, and then we will find out what those devils are doing."

Several hours later..

"We got here just on time." Alto noted, nothing had changed apparently, since their last visit.

"Yes, but it won't be long before the ship arrives." Eren said to him.

"Herr Burke." A Garrison soldier came up to them, "Defenses have been completed in this area,"

He nodded, surveying the cliffside. Dug-outs had been formed to camouflage hidden Pak.50 pieces. Bunkers had been covered in paint that matched to the cliffside, partly obscuring them from the untrained eye.

Suddenly, he heard the zip of ODM gear as a Garrison soldier approached them.

"It's Marley! They're here!"

Alto whirled to Eren, "Quickly. Transform underwater, make sure you're not seen." Eren nodded, before leaving.

"The rest of you! To your posts!" Alto shouted,

"Ja, Generalfeldmarschall!"

"Alright, stay frosty." Niccolo nodded at his superiors words. Even though he was just the ships cook, he was still forced to be part of the advance squad anyway.

The small wooden boat bumped against the shoreline.

"Anyone else feel like they're missing something here?" One of the soldiers said nervously.

"Yeah…we're being watched. But from where?"

"Up here, bozos." A bullet impacted right in front of them, as suddenly a Scout and a Royal Guard came from behind the group of five with ODM gear and tackled two of them to the ground, placing their Model 51 Maisen's to the Marleyans necks.

"They don't have armbands, meaning they aren't Eldians." One of them noted.

Mina descended from the top with a rifle slung across her back, in her hands, she held two Maisens attached to a set of Anti-Personnel Gear, and she had a second set of Anti-Titan gear below that.

She scanned the Marleyans coldly. She approached the squad's commanding officer, "You look like their leader, what's your rank?"

The man spat in her face, and Mina disgustedly wiped it off. Drawing one Maisen, she shot beside the man's foot, causing him to yelp.

"Name and rank."

"L-lieutenant Peter Berstone!" He shouted fearfully.

Mina nodded, "Well, Lieutenant, welcome to Paradis Island,

Niccolo watched the girl so confidently take five grown men prisoner, and knew that these people were most certainly the Devils of Paradis.

"Be wary men, we know the Founding Titan has been activated. For all we know, the Founder could have an army of Colossal Titans waiting for us." The captain told his men, who nodded.

"Peter's squad still hasn't returned sir, and it's been two hours." An ensign came up to him and said.

"I see." Hauptmann Klaus nodded.

As the Z90 approached the shoreline, Klaus couldn't help but feel like he was being watched.

"Keep an eye out, menout, men." The captain told them, "There's no telling where a devil might appear. No matter the cost, Marley must find out what happened."

Suddenly, from behind, the Colossal Titan exploded, the explosion sending water everywhere as it's glowing eyes stared down on the ship.

"I-Iit's a devil!" A Marleyan sailor shouted in fear.

Without warning, the water beneath them rumbled, and burst as the Attack Titan came from below them, holding the ship in a fireman's carry. The sailors on deck were unlucky as they slipped and slid on the deck, desperately trying to maintain a grip on anything that would prevent them from falling off. The Attack took several steps before dumping it on the shoreline.

"Hello esteemed guests from across the sea! I am Oberst Hanji Zoe, and we would like to invite you to join us for tea! Oh, and I wouldn't worry about your advance guests! We have them! Right here!" As soon as she said that, Niccolo was pushed forward.

"Don't worry about me Captain! Kill these devils already!" Niccolo shouted to him,

"Huh?!" Hanji said with fake politeness, "Aw come on now Niccolo! I thought we were best friends!"

As she said that, Levi pressed his blade harder into Niccolo's back.

Klaus gritted his teeth, "You can go to hell! Marley will never surrender to the likes of you!"

"You sure 'bout that?! Or do you want to piss off that big-ass titan behind you?!" Hanji shouted, Klaus looked at Eren, looming behind them, with his glowing green eyes staring down at them emotionlessly.

"Also! Take a look around you dumbasses!" Hanji shouted, seeing several of them steadily reach for their guns. Klaus finally took a look at their surroundings, and gasped. In several places, metallic gun-barrels stuck out, trained directly on their ship. Soldiers had also taken up sniping positions around them.

"This is what we think of you, and the pig-piss you call tea!" Klaus shouted, grabbing a rifle from a nearby sailor he took aim at Hanji, who squealed.

A single gunshot rang out.

Hanji nervously poked her head out from behind the rock, and the Eldian soldiers gasped in shock.

"Hands up Yelena!" A Marleyan soldier raised his pistol

"Drop your weapons." She replied, turning to the Marleyan soldier calmly with her own gun.

Without warning, several of the Marleyans on-deck turned on their comrades, taking them prisoner before they had a chance to react.

"W-what are you…?!"

"Do as she says." A dark-skinned soldier tells the first Marleyan.

"Hange!" Yelena removed her helmet, "I'd be glad to accept your invitation."

"I can't believe that big lady just upped and killed her comrade." Jean noted,

"It's nothing we haven't seen before." Connie said, "Didn't Alto do the same thing with the MPs?"

"Yeah…" Jean nodded,

"I wonder what her goals are," Mina said, "I mean, Alexander is helping us out of genuine sympathy, but something about Yelena just seems cold."

Mikasa looked over, and grabbed Sasha by the hair, "No sleeping Sasha." She shook her awake.

"Nonetheless, we were incredibly lucky to meet them, it's good to know that we have at least some allies in the outside world." Armin said,

"Yeah…lucky." Eren scoffed, "'Lucky' is all we've been nowadays. We were 'lucky' that we managed to get so many Interior Police designs. We were lucky that we got to salvage the Cart Titan's armor for technology. We were lucky that we intercepted that ship here." Eren paused, "How long is it before that luck runs out? If Marley comes here in force, we are done."

Alexander, Erwin, Levi, Hanji and Alto all sat on one side of the table. With Yelena and Onyakapon on the other.

Onyakapon was gingerly handling a Jäger 51 rifle.

"It's so well made…are you sure this was created just a few months ago?"

Hanji nodded, "Yep! Is it anything like what Marley has?"

"From what I can tell, it certainly comes close." Yelena said, she turned to Alex, "It is quite a surprise to find you alive, Hauptmann. The whole country believes you perished valiantly on the back of the Cart Titan."

Alex shifted uncomfortably, and Levi eyed him.

"Huh? Why would a nation like Marley care about a single soldier?" Hanji asked, tactlessly addressing the elephant in the room.

"The Cart Titan was devastating during the Klatsky Skirmishes thanks to his leadership. They called him the Steel Baron. He's also the first non-Marleyan commissioned officer. In short, he's a national hero." Onyakapon explained,

Alto cast a glance towards Alexander, and Alexander averted his gaze.

"Nonetheless-" Alto said, "He's on our side now. What he was in Marley couldn't matter less."

Alexander blushed, but lifted his head.

"Couldn't have said it better." Yelena nodded, before changing the topic, "Marley's active army consists of one million men split in armies of one hundred thousand, which are further divided in five divisions of twenty thousand. However, their reserves number almost ninety million. Nearly a fifth of their population."

"Ninety one million troops?" Now it was Alto's turn to be shocked,

"On top of that, Marley has a navy of 21 battleships, 14 heavy cruisers, 21 light cruisers, and 28 destroyers. These are split into three fleets, which are in turn split into seven battle groups. They also have a Scout Fleet consisting of 11 light cruisers and 22 destroyers, for the sole purpose of watching Paradis Island. The Z90 - the ship you captured - is a destroyer that is a part of that fleet."

"Marley is also progressing with new types of weapons. Including aerial military capabilities-"

"...Aerial?" Hanji asked in confusion.

Levi kicked her, "Don't look so surprised, they'll look down on us." He hissed,

"I know that." Hanji replied,

Alto turned to Yelena, "What exactly are 'aerial' weapons?" Alto could vaguely remember something like that being mentioned in his memories, but he still had no idea what it was specifically and it'd never occurred to him to ask Alex about it.

"Vehicles capable of avoiding obstacles such as seas and walls by traveling through the sky. Typically armed with weapons such as machine guns and bombs, concepts you're familiar with." Alex explained to them,

"Huh?! They'll come from the sky and you're telling us this now?!" Hanji whirled on him,

"I never saw it relevant as Marley's aerial capabilities are underdeveloped compared to other countries." Alexander explained.

"Hauptmann Le'Chaun is right. Marley is lagging severely behind the other nations of the world."

"Speaking of other nations, why hasn't Marley invaded us yet? Especially if they have such wonderful power?"

"Two reasons." Yelena took a sip of her tea, "First, the pure titans on the island. Marley has released millions of Pure Titans on Paradis over the years, at first, they served to keep the Walls in check, now, they've become Paradis's first line of defense." She looked around, "However, it's nearly dawn and we're still out here. Which means you must've killed them all."

"And if we did?" Erwin asked, speaking for the first time in a while. "Will you report this?"

"No, if anything, it surpasses all expectations." Yelena's eyes widened.

"What is the second reason?" Alto asked,

"Marley has bigger problems." Yelena put her teacup down. "The Klatsky Skirmishes have boiled over into a full blown conflict. The Mid-East Alliance has just declared war on the Intercontinenta Pact - the name of the alliance between Marley and its allies."

Alexander gasped, "They declared war?"

"This must be a surprise to you Hauptmann, since you left for Paradis before it happened. But yes, as of now, due to the winter conditions in Balan and the Corkus the war is currently a stalemate. However, the Mid-East Alliance controls the Bulwan Coast and parts of the Romanci coast, and has driven the Marleyan Army back to Kavalan. Thanks to their own new technologies, the armored car." Onyakapon told them.

"The information about Marley's defeat here leaked, didn't it?" Alexander asked, and Yelena nodded.

"You defeated Marley's Warrior Unit, a feat that no other country has been able to replicate, on top of that, you captured the Colossal and Jaw Titans, two of their key weapons. The Mid-East sees this as an opportunity to reclaim it's lost Balan territories."

"Balan territories?" Erwin questioned.

"A region directly outside the Marleyan homeland. It has fossil fuels vital for fueling a modern army."

"Are there any nations that would be open to supporting Paradis?" Alto asked, he remembered their negotiations with Hizuru, but barely remembered how they went.

"Only one, the Hizurian Empire." Yelena told them, "Although, Hauptmann Le'Chaun has probably told you that too." and Alexander nodded.

"Wait, you must have powerful backers if you're willing to go up against Marley." Hanji said eagerly,

Yelena looked to the side, "I wish I could say that, but no. In the eyes of the other nations, we are merely one of Marley's many thorns in its side. We're barely worth donating money to, much less seriously supporting. Most of our members are conscripts from nations Marley annexed."

"At least…until we met him." Yelena eyes adopted a dreamy look, "Marley and the world feared Titans as devils, but I saw something else. A god, a god that gave hope to the hopeless." Yelena spoke in a euphoric tone, much to the discomfort of Onyakapon beside her. Nonetheless, she was quick to regain her composure.

"We shot our superior at the orders of Zeke Jaeger. We are known as the Anti-Marleyan Volunteers and our goal is the destruction of the Marleyan Empire!"
