Chapter 6

(A.N. Welcome back readers. Nothing new really to add this time. As always I do not own Criminal Minds. I may eve up splitting the case up in to two chapters, but I will post it earlier than usual.)

They sit down at the round table and JJ handed them copies of their latest case.

"4 bodies have been found in Baltimore within the past month. All women, in their early-to-mid 20s. They were found in shallow graves in city parks. Each victim was from wealthy families with strong ties in the community." JJ started reviewing the details of the case with the team.

"It says that the girls had their eyelids sewn shut, bodies mostly drained of blood, and their hearts cut out?" Spencer asked.

"Ewe, ewe, ewe! That sounds like my cue to go find information on the families." Garcia says. She gets up and heads towards her office.

"Where was each victim last seen?" Morgan spoke.

"Yes Reid, and one was leaving a nice restaurant, the bank, heading to her car after shopping with friends, and the other was leaving a nail salon." JJ answered.

"It seems that the victims were chosen specifically and were followed until they were alone." Rossi said.

"That's what local police thought, but they couldn't find more leads and some of the parents of the victims were getting impatient, so they invited us in."

"Ok everyone, wheels up in 30." Hotch announced to the team.

Emily sends a quick message to Lindsay

"Aaron and I are going on a case. You and Jack are going to stay with Penelope until we get back. Henry will also be there so I expect you to help out with the boys. I love you and your little brother and sister miss you."

The team gets ready to go, and leave for Baltimore. They review more on the jet and decide Morgan and Rossi would go to the latest crime scene, Reid and Emily would talk to the Medical Examiner, and JJ and Hotch would meet with the local police.

The plane lands within the hour and the SUVs are waiting for the team on the tarmac.

Morgan and Rossi's car

"How was your date last night with Strauss?" Morgan asked to make small talk on the drive.

"How do you know about that?"

"Come on man, we all know about you two, and you were in such a hurry to leave last night that something had to be going on."

They arrive at the scene. It is an open field surrounded by trees, with a playground over to the side.

"Some little kids found the body while they were playing kickball." Rossi said.

"Damn man, little kids do not need to see these things. Aside from the path to the parking lot, this place is very secluded. They say the park is supposed to be closed a dark, but anyone could get in here whenever they wanted to."

"So the unsub dropped the body off during the night, but no one discovered it until mid-noon."

Emily and Reid

"How far along are you again?" the young doctor asked.

"Um, about 18ish weeks." Emily answered.

"That's right, how is everything going?"

"It's good, instead of just one baby, we're having twins." she told him.

"Oh wow, that's amazing. Have you told anyone else yet?"

"You're the first to know, well, besides Strauss."

The ME welcomes them and directs them to the bodies.

"Each one had their blood drained from their bodies and they were alive during the process." the ME told them.

"What do you mean by process?" Emily asked.

"It would have taken several days for the body to be drained by this much blood. They ultimately died from blood loss."

"Can you determine what was used to cut out the hearts?" Reid spoke up this time.

"Not the exact weapon, but my best guess would be some type of hunting knife."

"What about the eyes?"

"They were sewn after death, but before the heart was cut out. Whoever did this has knowledge of the body, but doesn't practice on people much."

"Thank you." they said in unison.

They went back to the car and headed to the police station and tell the rest of the team what they had learned.

"Garcia found that each of the girls had gone to the same private school at the same time for a semester." JJ added to the information the team had gathered.

A little while later the team was ready to deliver the profile in order to help with an arrest.

"We are looking for a white male, most likely in his 30s." Emily started.

"He would appear normal in everyday life, taking out the trash, going to work, or watching television. If you were to have a conversation with them, something would not seem right to you." JJ said.

"He may have a lisp or other speech impediment, he is from a poor background, possibly could have been arrested before." said Rossi.

"This guy is also a narcissist and thrives off the attention from media and civilians. He will kill again when the attention is not on him." Morgan spoke.

"He does not think he deserves to be in the lower class, and is not happy with his life." Emily spoke again.

"He is organized and has the time and means to hold victims for days. He also may have failed out of some form of medical school. He has above average knowledge of human anatomy but does not use his skills often." Spencer finished the profile.

The team goes back into the conference room they were given to see if they could figure anything else out for now.

"We have done great work for our first day here." Hotch said to the team a little while later.

"Everyone go back to the hotel for the night and meet up in the lobby at 8:30 in the morning." he continued.

They went to the hotel and everyone was supposed to have their own rooms, but Emily and Hotch ended up staying together.

"I'm going to call the kids." Hotch said.

"Ok, but don't keep them on the phone for too long, it is close to Jack's bed time and I'm sure Henry is already asleep." Emily told him.

Hotch called Lindsay's phone and she answered it after a few rings.

"Hello?" she said on the other line.

"Hey sweetie, we just wanted to call and check on you two and say goodnight." Emily took the phone from him.

"We're good. Henry went to sleep about an hour ago, and Jack is brushing his teeth."

"Thank you for making sure he does that. Can we talk to Garcia for a minute and then say goodnight?" Hotch said.

"Sure, here she is."

"Hi my furry friends, are you guys done with the case for the night?"

"Yes for the night. We'll start again in the morning. Thank you again for keeping the kids while we're away."

"Not a problem at all boss man. These tiny humans are perfect angels, speaking of which, here's one of them now." Garcia giggled as she handed the phone to Jack.

"Hey daddy." he said.

"Hey, are you having fun with Aunt Penelope?"

"Yea, I didn't have any work to do from school, and she got us pizza for supper and soda."

"Wow, on a school night too."

"She's awesome, she has so many cool things over here, and she said she could even teach me how to do some things on the computer."

"That sounds nice buddy. Go lie down for bed and let us talk to Lindsay for a minute. Goodnight, I love you buddy." Emily told him.

"I love you Jack." Aaron added.

"I love you two too. Goodnight, see you soon." Jack said and handed the phone back to Lindsay.

"Hey mom." she said.

"Hey Linds."

"What was with your text earlier?" the young girl asks.

"Oh, we're having two babies instead of one baby." Emily answered.

"That's great." Lindsay screamed with excitement.

"How was your day?" she asked.

"It was good. I had a lot of homework tonight, but I got it done and then I babysat until Aunt Penelope could leave and we've just chilled out pretty much." Lindsay gave her mom a recap of the day.

"We should be home in the next couple of days." Hotch chimed in.

"Goodnight you guys. Talk to you tomorrow." she said.

"Goodnight sweetie." they both said.

They end the call and get ready for bed themselves.

"We really have good kids." Hotch says pulling off his button down shirt.

"We do, and these little additions are going to be perfect too." Emily said slipping into an oversized t-shirt.

They got into bed and Emily curled into Hotch's body. His hands were on her back, and the bump.

"Goodnight Emily." he said as he kissed her forehead.

"Goodnight Aaron." she returned cuddling into him just a little more.

They fall asleep for the night with anticipation they will solve the case tomorrow.

End of chapter 6

(Thank you for reading. Like I said I will continue the case into the next chapter. I couldn't finish everything by today, but I will have it up earlier than usual. Leave comments on what you think so far and name ideas for the babies.)
