Chapter 7

(A.N. I've had a lot of free time the past couple of days because I've been riding on a bus, and was able to get this quick chapter done since I felt bad for not posting at an earlier time this week.)

The next morning everyone gets up and hits the ground running. Emily and Garcia go through the victim's lives more to see if there is anymore connections. Reid, Rossi, and JJ go to the private school the girls attended, and Hotch and Morgan try to identify potential unsubs.

"Hey Em, I found another connection between the victims." Penelope said on the other end of the conference call.

"What is it Garcia?"

"We know the girls partied regularly and were socialites, we have also found out that they supplied the coke for said parties."

"Let me guess, they all used the same dealer?" Emily cut-off her friend.

"You got it pussy-cat. His name is Gabriel Ricci."

Emily's mind went blank. She never thought that she would hear that name again. The boy that she had once known, gotten her pregnant, and vanished. Here in the States? A drug dealer? Possible serial killer? She wondered how involved he was, and what had happened in his life.

"Emily?" Garcia said still on the line.

"Did you hear me?" she asked.

"Sorry PG, got distracted for a second. Can you repeat that?" Emily said covering for herself.

"He's originally from Italy, but it appears that he moved to the US of A 8 years ago. It also appears that Mr. Ricci is a main supplier of drugs and weapons to the Eastern seaboard." Penelope started listing off the information she had found.

"We have our unsub!" Morgan came into the conference room and slammed a file onto the table, Hotch walking in behind him.

"Who?" Emily asks, taking attention away from Garcia. She shared a look with Hotch, letting him know she needed to talk to him later.

"His name is Marcus Owens. Garcia, what can you tell us about him?" Hotch asks.

"How do you know it's him?" Emily asks.

"He knew each victim, he worked for the fathers taking care of each property. After he got expelled from the same private school the girls attended at the same time." Morgan answered her.

"Although there is no official information from the school, it appears they all had classes together. Another girl accused Marcus of sexual misconduct and the victims said the same thing. None of it was true, but no one would believe poor Marcus since there were multiple accusations. His dad however, also had lots of money and paid off the school to not say anything publicly about the incident if he would withdrawal Marcus. He was unofficially expelled from the school for something he did not do. All of the girls involved also withdrew from the school and moved to different ones. Shortly after the incident, his father lost his business and the family money so he had to find a job. The families agreed to let him work for them but treated him horribly and for a very low wage. He also started getting into trouble with shoplifting and vandalizing businesses. Eventually, Marcus saved up enough money to go to medical school, but ended up failing out a year before graduation. " Garcia told them.

"He's getting revenge on those he believes ruined his life, and he would have the medical practice to be able to cut out the eyes and hearts, as well as draining the blood." Hotch said.

"Babygirl, did you say that none of the victims were the first girl to say the lie about Owens?" Morgan asked.

"That's right Chocolate Thunder, that girl's name was Carrie Jameson."

"Guys, he's not done killing yet. He waiting to kill the one who started everything that ruined his life last." Emily spoke.

Just then, a detective came into the conference room and told them Carrie Jameson had been abducted.

"Garcia, get us current addresses for Owens, also contact Reid, JJ, and Rossi and fill them in. We're heading to the location when you send it." Hotch gave the order.

When she sends the address, they run out of the police station to the SUVs. Morgan gets in the driver seat because he can get them there the fastest. In the car Emily pulls her hair up into a quick ponytail, and she and Hotch strap on their bulletproof vests and are ready for when they get to the location.

Of course the unsub would need somewhere isolated to murder his victims, and his childhood home was on a separate estate, uninhabited, and far enough away for no one to know he was there or what he was doing.

They arrive within 10 minutes and the others pull up at the same time. Usually, the team would wait for SWAT or other local police, but they weren't sure they had the time to be able to save her life.

Hotch, Emily and Rossi approach the front door, waiting for confirmation from Morgan, Reid, and JJ that they are ready, waiting at the back.

"We're ready guys." JJ speaks into her earpiece.

They burst into the home and start searching room-by-room. They come to a door that led to a wine cellar, they found Owens, with Carrie on a makeshift table bound, with multiple IVs starting to drain her blood.

"Marcus Owens. FBI." Hotch says getting his attention.

He turns and looks them, and realizes he's been caught. He pulls out a knife and puts it to Carrie's throat.

"I'll kill her. Don't come any closer." he wanted to regain control of the situation.

"We know you will. We also know what happened all those years ago." Emily began trying to reason with him.

"No you don't, no one would listen to me, they only cared about their lies." he says holding the knife closer to Carrie's throat.

"But I do know. I know you always dreamed of being a doctor. You were very shy and quiet in school, so when Carrie asked you out, you were so excited and happy."

"H-how do you know that?"

"I know soon after that you started dating, and spending more time together. She liked your stutter and shyness, and she didn't care about the interesting topics you would bring up. She took you to parties and everyone was drinking and doing drugs. Carrie wanted you to do it too, but you said no. She broke up with you after that, didn't she?" Emily continued.

"She did, and the next day she told her s-stupid friends what happened and that she was going to make me regret it." Marcus started to loosen his grip on the knife and get distracted.

"She had seen the real you, and you had given her your heart right? You also realized that you liked the attention you received."

"Y-yes, and I-I decided to take theirs. I don't understand why I like the attention so much, but it's like I need it to survive."

Morgan snuck behind him, pulled the knife away, and put the cuffs on him.

"They may have told a lie that did a lot of damage in your life, but they did not deserve to die." Emily finished.

Owens is taken away and Carrie is given medical aid.

"I didn't know that I made his life that bad." Carrie told Emily as she was wheeled into the ambulance.

"I just wanted him to let loose a little and have some fun. When he didn't, I knew that I would have to find someone who was more like me."

"Hey, you were a teenager, you didn't know any better." Emily said, trying to reassure her.

The paramedics took Carrie to the hospital and the team headed to the airport to head home.

Emily and Hotch sat by themselves, away from the others. They tended to do this on not-so-long flights.

"Hey, what was with you earlier?" Hotch asked.

"Have I ever told you about Lindsay's father?"

"You told me he was a little bit younger that you, and that he disappeared when you told him you were pregnant, but that's all."

"His name is Gabriel Ricci, and yes, after I told him I never heard from him again. Earlier, Garcia and I were trying to find more connections between the victims and she said his name. He had been their drug dealer when the victims were younger." she told him.

"Oh, and then Morgan and I came in having identified Owens."

"Yea, I mean, Garcia couldn't have known who he was, she just caught me off guard and I froze for a second."

"We need to talk about the babies." Hotch said changing the subject.

"Well, I've been thinking about a few names."

"I love the name Thomas for a boy." he said.

"Ok, if you get the name Thomas for a boy, then I get to choose the name Charlotte for the girl." she said.

"I love that. How'd you choose Charlotte?"

"It was the name of my nanny when I was younger, but I always called her Charlie."

"I suppose we have at least one thing ready for when they come." he said

"Ok, so there would be Lindsay, Jack, Thomas, and Charlotte. How are we going to handle four children?" she laughed.

"We'll manage I'm sure." he leaned over to kiss her.

They arrive back at Quantico and Garcia had brought the kids to the BAU and were around the round table. Jack was drawing while Lindsay was playing with Henry.

"Hey guys." Morgan goes into the room first, the rest of the team following behind.

"Uncle Derek." Jack shot up and ran to him. Lindsay also got up with Henry and walked to JJ and Spencer.

"Hey my baby." JJ said as she took Henry from her.

"Mom." she said, finally noticing Emily and Hotch in the corner.

"Hey Linds." Jack then came running out of nowhere.

"Daddy." he jumped into his arms.

They spend a few minutes talking and then head to their own cars to go home for the night. They get to the apartment and the kids go to their rooms.

Hotch and Emily go to theirs as well and get ready for bed. Then Emily gets a phone call from an unknown number.

"Hello?" she answers.

"Hello Emily." Gabriel said from the other line.

"Gabriel?"

She knew that voice from anywhere. Hotch looks confused and listens in.

"Yes, long time no see." he said playing with her.

"Not because of me." she shot back.

"What have you been up to these past what 16 years?"

"Why do you care?"

"Oh a dear mutual friend of ours tells me that I'm a father to beautiful young lady."

"What friend?" she asked.

"Why don't you say hello?" Gabriel says.

"Hello Emily. Say hi to everyone for me." Foyet spoke.
