jock78149: Definitely a consideration. I've taken a look at the premise, and it will definitely fit with the story very well.

Shadowsaurus: Thank you!

ALN2: Unfortunately not.

Alph4Scorpion180: I'm glad you are!

Super Comrade: As always - it's a pleasure to see you reviewing! And believe me, the alliances are about to get a whole lot bigger!

Titan Research Society - Salta, Southern Afrique

"And by adding a slight amount of Beast Titan fluid…" A scientist muttered to himself, mixing the spinal fluid of the Jaw and Beast Titans in a glowing purple mix, he raised the small vial.

"It's done…hopefully this will have more success." The scientist said quietly, "All that is left is to test it."

Free Francia Indoxina

"Debois is plotting to take over." Leon told Rose,

"Debois is always plotting something. But this might be the one time he's right to do so." Rose scoffed,

"Don't say that your highness!" Leon placed his hand over his heart, "You survived the Fall for a reason!"

"What reason, Leon?" Rose asked, "Debois is an absolutely uncouth, greedy, and conniving man. But even a broken clock is right twice a day." She sighed, "Something has to change. I just can't figure out what."

Petropigi, Marleyan Grecia

"The Mid-East Army has finally been routed from Bulwan, so the Marleyan 9th Army is driving down hard on Istantiople." Stella told the Warriors

"Then it's almost over." Reiner breathed with relief, but Stella shook her head.

"We may be winning now, but the Olturka won't go down so easily. Once we take Istantiople, we'll need to march across their homeland as well as through the Afghani Kingdom to take down their oil reserves. After that, we may be able to force a surrender."

"But that'll take years to accomplish…" Evangelica said, and Stella nodded.

"The good news is that the first year of Warrior Training is ending, meaning I'm getting a Panzer Unit soon." Pieck said,

"Yeah, I missed the Carts' anti-infantry ability." Evangelica agreed, "With you back on combat duty, things will go a lot smoother."

July 15th, 851

'God damn it…' Caterina laid flat on her bunk, barely keeping herself from hurling another load of food.

While the accommodations on the boat weren't all that bad, as fate would have it, it turns out she was seasick. And had practically remained in her bed for the entire duration aside from when it was necessary.

'How do people live like this…?' She wondered to herself.

Suddenly, a knock came on her door: "Oi! We're approaching the island, prepare to get off will ya?!"

Groaning, she rolled out of her bed, and grabbed her barely unpacked things. Shoving the few things she did get out back in the suitcases.

As she made her way to the deck, she gasped at the sight before her.

'All this…in the span of less than a year?' She'd heard that Paradis was a primitive nation until late in 850, when they finally began accessing technologies from the outside world.

However, the sight before her was a strange mix of the old and new. Stone brick and wood houses reminiscent of those a hundred years prior clashed yet complemented the new roads and the modern skyscrapers. Horse-drawn wagons were traveling side-by-side with foreign-made cars.

Then there was the most surprising sight of all. Titans.

Titans lumbered down the street openly, carrying materials for construction projects elsewhere.

As the ship pulled into port, Caterina could see ongoing construction on a new building, where Titans and humans worked side by side. With the Titans doing the more large scale tasks and humans doing the fine details.

"Bit stunning for a lassie like you?" A sailor asked her,

"I mean…aren't you surprised? They're titans!" Caterina asked incredulously

"Course I am. Scares the shit out of me every time. But they don't hurt anybody. They're people who agreed to be titanized in order to get stuff done. The Founder prevents them from going wacko. Otherwise this would be a disaster." The sailor explained, "Lightstar here was one of the first ships from the outside world last month. I'll tell you, Dasmeer looked nothing like this. It was just a few houses and a dock. Now it's a city. Goes to tell you just how powerful these people are."

"And that's in a month…" Caterina said in amazement,

"Be careful you don't gape too long. Otherwise we might sail back with you on board." The sailor told her, before going back to his duties.

Caterina nodded, before grabbing her things, and entering a new world.

Fort Salta

"This better work Mr. Liodel." Calvi sighed, "For years, we've tried finding a way to improve our titans. And with the Istantiople offensive occurring soon…time is running short."

Liodel simply nodded, and put on his gloves.

"Injecting subject." An assistant stated in a monotone voice, an Eldian soldier held a small glass with a glowing purple liquid with an unsteady hand. Shakily, the soldier injected the liquid into the Eldian tied up in the chair before quickly running towards the door right as the girl began to glow.

"Transformation confirmed." The assistant nodded, lightning filled the chamber as the girl exploded in a flash of light, and a 5-meter titan appeared in her stead.

Its skull-like face was a feature clearly distinct to the Jaw Titan. However, unlike the other Jaw Titans, it had several animal-like features. Its arms were covered in fur, and its ears were pointed.

"Subject is engaging." The assistant said, as the Titan came too. The soldier desperately banged against the door as the titan proceeded to pounce upon him, ripping him to pieces.

The titan, leaving the mans body once he was dead, looked around, unaware of the scientists watching from a window, it seemed to…sniff the air?

"Kill it." Calvi said,

"Hold on sir…haven't you noticed something?" Liodel stated,

"What?"

"The titan, sir." Liodel turned to Calvi,

"It didn't eat the soldier."

Caterina looked around as she disembarked from the ship, lugging her things behind her, she realized she had a major problem.

She had no idea what she was doing.

She had no way of contacting people like Alto Burke. No way of setting up interviews. No way of actually getting information.

She was practically set up to fail.

'Well, I should find somewhere to sleep first…' Caterina sighed, grabbing her things she approached the first hotel she saw.

She approached the receptionist, and flashed them a smile.

"Hello, I would like a place to stay?" Caterina asked,

The woman looked up at her, "Yes…madam." The thickness of the words made it clear that she was not a native Britann speaker, "How long…will you stay?"

"About a year." Caterina told her,

"I see. That will be…approximately 14,000 Kapitalmarks." The woman told her,

"Kapital marks?" Caterina vaguely remembered that the Eldians used two forms of currency, the Kapitalmark bills, and the Münze coin. A Kapitalmark was worth about 70% of the standard Western Dollar, which meant…

"9,600 dollars?" Caterina said aloud, it was a good chunk of her spending money for the year she would be here.

The woman flipped through a book, and nodded: "Yes ma'am."

"Right…do you take checks?"

"We do ma'am."

"Thank god…" She quickly scribbled out a check for 9,600 dollars and handed it to her. "Here you go!"

"Thank you, ma'am, you'll be in Room 0079." The receptionist handed her a key, and Caterina nodded and walked off.

"I see…this is a situation indeed."

"Yes, and it may not be in our best interests to continue cannibalizing the Garrison for members," Pyxis said passively,

Alto nodded, "What about the graduating Cadet class, I believe I enforced some new rules."

"Yes, but they only number a thousand." Kassandra explained, "We'll need far more than that to bring Paradis's military up to a sizeable number."

The problem in question was the chronic manpower shortage the military now found themselves in. With the creation of new branches, there came a need to find people to staff them. However, between Trost, the Eldian Civil War, and Shiganshima, even the original branches were understrength. It didn't help that the graduating cadet class this year was only a thousand strong.

"What about the immigrant population?" Alto questioned, "How are they reacting to the draft order?"

"It's mixed. Some oppose it, others embrace it. But no major issues have occurred as of yet."

Alto nodded, "Then I believe the only thing we can do is wait. Until the classes of 853 and 854 complete their training, we can only make do."

A/N: Alright, so we got one or two more chapters set in 851, before we do a one year timeskip to 852! Stay tuned until then!
