AN: So, now that the first season of The Ghost and Molly McGee just ended, I thought that this would be the perfect moment to write a new Mollibby story! This story would take place several years in the future, where Molly and Libby are going to college together. I hope you would enjoy my new story!

Chapter 1

Beginning of the Semester

Today is a big day for Molly McGee! After graduating from high school, Molly has been preparing for her first day of college. Throughout the day, Molly has been packing her things before she had to leave.

Despite how excited she was for college, Molly was sad that she had to leave her family. She had been with them her whole life and she didn't think that she would be leaving them so soon. On the bright side, they promised that they would call her and talk to her every day. Even Molly's ghost friend, Scratch agreed to come with her to college. Best of all was that Molly got to be roommates with her girlfriend, Libby Stein-Torres. She had no doubts that she was going to have a wonderful time at college.

After packing the last of her stuff, Molly was about to walk out of her former room before taking a look at herself in the mirror. She couldn't help but notice how much she had grown since she first moved to Brighton. She appeared taller than she did all those years ago and wore a blue jacket with sleeves so long they covered her arms. Instead of wearing a skirt, Molly wore a pair of purple jeans, along with a pair of dark blue boots. After Molly looked at herself in silence, Scratch floated up to the attic to check on her.

"So, are you ready for your first day of college, Moll?"

Molly turned to her ghost friend with a smile before she nodded. "I am, Scratch! It's just going to be hard to say goodbye to my family."

Scratch could sense the sadness in Molly's voice. He knew that it was going to be a tough moment for her, especially since she has never been so far away from her family before.

"Hey, whatever happens, you would still have me." Scratch assured.

"Thanks, Scratch!" Molly gave Scratch a hug before he hugged back.

After taking one last look at her room, Molly gathered the rest of her belongings before making her way downstairs. She packed the last of her stuff in her car before turning to say goodbye to her family. Her parents smiled at her with tears in their eyes while her brother, Darryl pretended not to be sad.

"Oh, Molly! We wish that you didn't have to leave so soon!" Molly's mom, Sharon was the first to speak. "You have grown up so much and we are proud of everything you have accomplished over the years!"

"Your mom is right, Molly! We are just so sad to see you go!" Pete started to get emotional as he tried fighting back his tears.

"Aw! Don't cry, Mom and Dad! I promise that I'll call you once I reach the campus and then we can talk as much as you want!"

As Molly said that, she embraced her parents in a group hug. After hugging her parents for a couple of moments, Molly let go of them before walking over to Darryl. Upon taking a look at her brother, Molly could tell that Darryl grew up a lot since the last couple of years as well as he was now the same height as her.

"It's okay to cry, Darryl! I know that you are going to miss me just as much as Mom and Dad do." Molly said, not falling for Darryl's act.

"Uh, I have no idea what you are talking about, Molly!" Darryl pretended not to care.

Molly soon gave an amused smile. "I'll miss you too, Darryl!"

It was at that point when Darryl smiled back before he and Molly hugged each other goodbye.

As she hugged her brother, Molly whispered, "So, can you promise me that you will stay out of trouble while I'm away?"

"I make no promises, Molly!" Darryl replied.

After saying goodbye to her family, Molly decided that it was time for her to leave. She took one last look at her family before she said, "I love you all, and I promise to call you guys everyday!"

At that moment, Molly got in her car with Scratch, who had his seatbelt on, despite the fact that he was a ghost anyway. Molly started up the car before waving goodbye to her family and driving away. As Molly began her drive to the college campus, Scratch decided to start off a conversation with her.

"You must be feeling excited to finally be off to college, Molly!"

"To be honest, I am feeling a little nervous, Scratch." Molly admitted as she kept her eyes on the road. "It is going to feel weird not being with Mom, Dad, or Darryl for once."

"Hey, on the bright side, at least you and Libby get to be roommates together!" Scratch pointed out.

A blush formed across Molly's face at the idea of being roommates with her girlfriend. "Since when do you look on the bright side of things?" Molly asked with an amused grin.

"What can I say? I suppose your positivity is just rubbing off on me!" Scratch chuckled.

The ride to the campus took several hours, so Molly began to feel exhausted by the time she arrived. Once Molly finally arrived, she looked around and was surprised by how many buildings there were.

"Wow! This campus looks pretty impressive!" Molly said.

"It really does! This would be the perfect spot for me to scare some unsuspecting students." Scratch replied with a mischievous grin.

Molly rolled her eyes at that. Ever since Molly rescued Scratch from the ghost world back when she was in middle school, Scratch no longer had to worry about the Ghost Council sending him to the Flow of Failed Phantoms. Despite that, it didn't stop him from scaring everyone every once in awhile.

After admiring the campus, Molly parked her car outside of the college's residential area. Scratch then got out of the car with Molly as he took a look around. "So, this is where you would be staying for the semester?"

"Yes, Scratch. Now all we have to do is wait for Libby to arrive. I'm sure that she would be here any minute." Molly explained.

As if on cue, a car suddenly pulled up right next to Molly's. The car door opened and Molly was happy to see Libby stepping out. Just like Molly, Libby had grown taller in the last couple of years as well. Libby wore her usual green sweater and had on a pair of light-blue jeans and dark-green boots. After closing the car to her car, Libby barely got a chance to turn around before Molly embraced her in a tight hug.

"Libby!" Molly let out a happy squeal as she hugged her girlfriend.

"Molly!" Libby hugged Molly back. "It's so good to see you! Are you excited for our semester together?" Libby asked as she and Molly held each others hand.

"I am!" Molly replied happily. "I am so happy that we get to be roommates throughout the semester!"

"Me too! Let's go check out our dorm room!" Libby suggested.

Scratch soon felt his stomach rumble before he said, "Yeah, you two do that! I'll just get something to eat in the meantime!"

With that, Scratch floated away, leaving Molly and Libby to check out their dorm room. They made their way over to the door of their room and turned the knock. After opening the door Molly and Libby were greeted with the sight of a small room containing a couple of beds and a desk with a lamp on it.

"Well, this is a little smaller than I expected, but I'm sure we can make it work! This is going to be a wonderful semester!" Molly said with a smile.

Just listening to Molly's upbeat and positive attitude made Libby smile. It brought her joy knowing that she would be here with Molly.

"As long as we're together, I know that this semester would be pretty amazing!" Libby said, to which Molly began to blush. "Let's unpack our things and get settled into our new room!"

As soon as they unpacked their belongings, Molly and Libby decided to use this time to call their families. Considering how they were staying at an unfamiliar place, it was comforting to them to hear their families' voices, even if they were far away.

It wasn't long before nighttime fell and Molly and Libby got changed into their pajamas. While Libby was ready to got to bed, Molly was wide awake.

"So, what would you like to do first, Libby? The night is still young!" Molly exclaimed, happily jumping on her bed.

Libby let out a yawn. "Sorry, Molly. I'm feeling really sleepy right now. Besides, we have early classes tomorrow, remember?"

"I agree with Libby, Moll! Secretly eating the other students snacks without them noticing can really tire a ghost out!" Scratch let out a burp before he floated into his dollhouse that Molly brought from home.

"Don't worry, Molly! After classes are over tomorrow, we can do whatever you want." Libby said sleepily as she slowly closed her eyes.

Seeing that Libby was close to falling asleep, Molly walked over to her and gave her a kiss on the lips.

"Goodnight, Libby! I'll see you tomorrow!" Molly whispered before getting in her own bed.

As she drifted off to sleep, Molly began to dream about her semester with Libby. Molly knew that as long as she was with Libby, it would be a pretty amazing semester.

AN: Well, that is the end of the first chapter. When Molly said that she and her best friend would become roommates in college, she wasn't wrong! This chapter didn't really have as many Mollibby moments as I hoped, but I will include more shipping moments between those two characters as the story continues. Anyway, I hope you enjoyed the first chapter, and feel free to let me know what you think of the story so far!
