Chapter 2

A Rough First Day

After settling into their dorm room, Molly and Libby got up early the next morning to head over to their classes. They ate breakfast and got into Molly's car. Since they didn't know their way around the campus, the two friends ended up getting themselves lost.

"Are you sure this is the right way, Molly?" Libby asked. "This doesn't seem right."

"Relax, Libby. I know where we are." Molly calmly assured, even though she had no idea where she was going. "The building to our first class is right over there, right?"

Libby shook her head. "No, we aren't supposed to go there until our next class."

"What? Are you saying that I've been going the wrong way this whole time?" Molly quickly realized her mistake before taking a u-turn.

At that moment, Libby let out a defeated sigh. "At this rate, we are going to be late for our first class."

"Don't worry! I think I know where we are going this time!" Molly assured with a smile.

"Molly, there's the turn over there! Don't miss the turn!" Libby suddenly yelled as Molly was about to miss a turn.

It took nearly an hour for Molly to find her way around the campus. After several wrong turns, Molly finally found her way to the building of her first class. As they got out of the car, they rushed to the building and hurried to their class.

"Oh no! I think we are really late for class!" Libby panted as she tried to keep up with Molly.

"I don't think we are that late, Libby! I'm sure that nobody would even notice that we were gone!" Molly replied.

Right as they entered the classroom, it ended up catching the attention of the students and the professor. Judging from the professor's annoyed expression, the girls could tell that they were not making a good first impression for college.

"Libby, they might have noticed how late we are." Molly whispered, much to Libby's annoyance.

"Ah, Miss McGee and Miss Stein-Torres. How wonderful of you to join us an hour late!" the professor retorted.

"I'm really sorry, Professor!" Libby tried to apologize. "Molly and I got lost!"

"I don't want to hear it! Please take your seats!" the professor pointed to a couple of empty seats.

With a couple of sighs, Molly and Libby walked over towards their seats as they attended what was left of class. Once class ended, Molly and Libby left the building as they walked back to the car.

"Well, that could have gone better. I don't think today can get any worse!" Libby said as this was not how she wanted to spend her first day of college.

"If it can't get any worse, then that means today can only get better from here!" Molly beamed. "I'm sure that we can still have an amazing first day!"

Molly would soon find herself to be wrong when she and Libby heard a familiar voice from behind them.

"Typical Molly McGee! Always has to be positive whenever she can!"

At that moment, Molly and Libby turned around and her both surprised that they were face to face with their rival, Andrea Davenport. After the day they had, Andrea was the last person they wanted to see right now.

"Andrea? You're here too?" Libby asked, surprised.

"Oh, don't act so surprised! I have to keep my popularity up in Brighton, so don't think that just because we are in college, that means you can mispronounce my name! You learned that the hard way, Libby!" Andrea reminded her as Libby started to feel intimidated.

It was at that point when Molly glared at Andrea. Ever since Libby mispronounced Andrea's name on the first day of school, Andrea made Libby a social outcast. Molly was still angry at Andrea for what she did to Libby.

"Libby didn't deserve to be an outcast because of you! It's not her fault you are so particular about your name pronunciation, Ahn-Dree-Uh!" Molly pronounced Andrea's name in a mocking tone.

After Molly said that, Andrea glared back at her. She was not going to let anyone talk to her like that and get away with it.

"I'd watch that tone if I were you, Molly! I'll forgive you for that outburst if you two help me with my livestream!"

Before Molly and Libby could ask Andrea what she meant by that, Andrea suddenly gave Molly and Libby a couple of wedgies before hanging them from a tree branch by their underwear. As Molly and Libby struggled to get down from the branch, Andrea turned on her phone as she began her livestream.

"What's up, all my fandreas! Today, we have two special guests, who happily volunteered to be on this livestream! Introducing, Molly McGee and Libby Stein-Torres!" Andrea announced as she pointed her camera at Molly and Libby. "As you can see, these two lovebirds are sitting in a tree, or hanging from a tree by their underwear, to be more specific."

While Libby was blushing from embarrassment, Molly struggled to get down before she yelled, "This isn't funny, Andrea! Let us down!"

"Hmm. Actually, I think I'll let you two hang around." Andrea laughed at her bad joke before she ended the livestream on her phone. "Bye!"

With that, Andrea walked away, leaving Molly hanging by her lavender ghost panties and Libby hanging by her green turtle panties. A couple of hours had passed and Molly and Libby ended up missing even more of their classes. They struggled to get down from the tree, but eventually gave up on their efforts. Molly soon let out a defeated sigh before turning to Libby.

"I'm sorry, Libby! This was supposed to be an amazing first day for us, but everything had gone wrong since we got here." Molly apologized.

"I won't lie, Molly! Today has been pretty terrible!" Libby admitted. "We got lost, we missed most of our classes, and we are now hanging from a tree by our own panties! Despite everything, just being with you made this day tolerable!"

As Libby said that, Molly's eyes widened in surprise. "Do you really mean that, Libby?'

Libby nodded in response. "Of course! I don't think I would have been able to handle college without you and your positive attitude. I'm so happy to be here with you!"

"Aww!" Molly gave her girlfriend a grateful smile. "I'm happy to be here with you too, Libby! I'd kiss you right now, but we might want to wait until we are back on the ground."

At that moment, Scratch appeared right in front of Molly and Libby. He was eating from a bag of chips, famished from his day of scaring everyone.

"You two should have seen me scaring those students! They were terrified of me!" Scratch laughed before he noticed Molly and Libby hanging by their panties. "Uh, what happened to you two?"

"Andrea happened." Libby answered.

"Andrea is attending classes here too?" Scratch asked, surprised. "Then I know who I'm going to scare for the rest of the semester!"

"Before you do that Scratch, can you please help me and Libby down?" Molly asked as she started to feel uncomfortable from hanging from the tree for so long.

Scratch nodded before he floated up to the tree branch. "By the way Moll, your choice in underwear might be considered offensive in the ghost world."

"Scratch, please just get us down from here already!" Molly blushed as she was ready for this day to be over with already.

After Scratch managed to get Molly and Libby down from the tree, they both thanked Scratch before they hurried over to their next class. Despite everything that went wrong today, Molly and Libby were at least able to make it to their last couple of classes on time.

As night time fell, the two friends drove back to their dormitory, exhausted from their long day. While Molly landed face first in her bed, Libby started to read her favorite fantasy book series, A Song of Snow and Humidity.

"I didn't think our first day of college would be so rough." Molly's voice was muffled from laying on the bed.

"It was. Hopefully, tomorrow would be better." Libby hoped while keeping her eyes on her book.

Molly soon lifted up her head to take a look at Libby. "I promise that tomorrow will be a better day for both of us!" She then sat next to Libby on her bed to take a closer look at the book she is reading. "So, you are reading A Song of Snow and Humidity again?"

Libby nodded. "Yes, I just love fantasy books. I always wondered what it would be like if I was a knight."

"Well, if you were to become a knight then I guess that would make me your princess!" Molly smiled as she leaned her head against Libby's shoulder.

This caused Libby to blush. She would be lying if she didn't say that she enjoyed Molly being this close to her. A smile soon crept across Libby's face when she decided to joke around.

"How shall I serve you, my princess!" Libby spoke in an accent as she did her best impression of the characters from her fantasy books.

Hearing Libby speak caused Molly to blush since she always felt Libby sounded cute when she talked like that. It was at that moment when Molly decided to play along.

"All I ask is for you to always be by my side!" Molly said, jokingly.

"Then, so be it! I shall keep you safe and never leave your side!" Libby replied as she could no longer contain her laughter.

The girls giggled in unison before staring lovingly towards each other. They then passionately kissed each other on the lips for several minutes straight. Seeing this caused Scratch to roll his eyes.

"Would you two get a room already?" Scratch spoke up.

As Scratch said that, Molly and Libby stared at him before Molly said, "Uh, Scratch? Libby and I are literally in our dorm room right now!"

"Then I'm not staying in here. If anyone needs me, I'll be asleep in my house!" Scratch announced before he flew into the dollhouse.

Now that Molly and Libby were alone once more, they kissed each other once more. Even though their day turned out to be terrible, being with each other made it all worth it.

"Hey, Libby?" Molly spoke up. "I know that today didn't turn out that great, but I promise we would still have a wonderful semester!"

"I know!" Libby replied as she didn't have any doubts. "As long as we are together, I know that we can get through anything!"

Touched by what Libby said, Molly gave her one last kiss before the two of them got ready for bed. With their long day over, Molly and Libby slowly closed their eyes as they fell asleep in each others arms.

An: So, I want to thank everyone who took the time to read this story so far! Before I end this chapter, I would like to say that while I am aware that Molly and Andrea would eventually become friends in the Home Is Where The Haunt Is episode, I'm still going to make Andrea a bully in this story so that Molly and Libby would have a rival throughout the story. Anyway, thank you to everyone who read this story and I hope to publish the next chapter soon!
