Chapter 6

Mistletoe Kiss

After spending winter break with Libby, Molly and her family had to return home to get ready for Christmas. They were all woken up by the sunlight and Molly and Darryl rushed to the living room, both of them excited to open their presents.

Before they could get a chance to open their presents, they heard a knock on the front door. Pete and Sharon opened the door to reveal Libby and her mom standing on the other side.

"Hello, Pete and Sharon!" Leah greeted with a smile. "Thank you for inviting over to your house!"

"It's the least we could do, Leah!" Sharon replied. "After all, you two invited us over to your home to celebrate Hanukkah with you!"

"Now, please come in! We were just about to let Molly and Darryl open their presents." Pete explained.

At that moment, Libby sat down on the floor next to Molly. Even though Libby and her mom don't celebrate Christmas, Libby was just happy to at least be with Molly.

"Merry Christmas, Molly!" Libby said before giving Molly a hug.

Molly blushed before hugging Libby back. "Merry Christmas, Libby!"

"Okay, kids! You can open your presents now." Pete said as Molly and Darryl started to get excited.

Molly and Darryl felt like little kids again as they quickly unwrapped their Christmas presents. This left wrapping paper scattered across the floor, but Molly and Darryl's parents didn't care as they were glad to see their kids happy.

After all of the presents were unwrapped, the parents decided to stay inside while Molly, Libby, Darryl, and Scratch went outside to have a snowball fight with each other. Molly and Libby were working together as a team as they faced off against Scratch and Darryl.

"Get ready, Darryl! Libby and I are going to beat you and Scratch at the snowball fight!" Molly taunted.

"Don't be so sure about that, Molly! Don't forget that I have a ghost on my side!" Darryl pointed out.

Once the snowball fight began, everyone threw as many snowballs as they could at each other. While Darryl took cover behind a tree, Scratch used his ghost powers to levitate some snowballs to throw at Molly and Libby.

This time, it was Molly and Libby's turn to take cover. Right as Scratch and Darryl got closer to them, Libby rolled up a snowball and threw it a Darryl when he least expected it.

"Oh no! You got me!" Darryl yelled before he dramatically fell to the ground. "It's all up to you, Scratch!"

"Woo! Way to go, Libby!" Molly cheered for her girlfriend.

"Now we just need to get Scratch!" Libby said.

With a confident grin, Molly grabbed a snowball and said, "Just leave it to me!"

Molly then threw the snowball, only for it to fly right through Scratch.

"Nice try, Moll!" Scratch taunted. "I'm a ghost, remember? Snowballs can't even hit me!"

"What? How is that fair?" Molly complained.

"It's not!" Scratch smirked before he threw as many snowballs as possible at Molly and Libby.

By the time they returned to the house, Molly and her friends were covered in snow. They spent the rest of the day in the house as they tried to stay warm. While their families sat near the fireplace, Molly and Libby snuggled up to one another with a blanket wrapped around the two of them.

Once the day came to an end, Molly was in her room as she was laying on her bed, happy from the fun day she had.

"So, I hope you're not too mad at me for cheating at that snowball fight, Molly." said Scratch.

Molly shook her head. "Nah! I think we all had fun today, Scratch! That's all that matters!"

"Yeah! It seemed that you especially had fun when you were snuggling up to Libby in front of the fireplace!" Scratch teased, causing Molly to blush.

It was at that moment when Molly heard footsteps walking up to her room. The door opened before Libby entered the attic and greeted Molly with a smile.

"Oh, there you are, Molly! I just want to let you know that my mom and I would be going back home pretty soon." Libby explained.

"Oh, well I hope that you have a safe trip back home!" Molly smiled.

"We will! This has been a pretty fun winter break, hasn't it?"

Molly nodded. "It was! It's just too bad that our winter break is nearly over. Our college classes would begin again pretty soon."

As Molly said that, Libby started to feel a little nervous. Considering how their last day at college didn't end up so well, Libby hoped that the next semester would end up being better.

Upon noticing Libby's nervous expression, Molly knew exactly what she was thinking about. She then held Libby's hands and gave her a reassuring smile.

"Hey, you don't have to worry about Andrea! I promise I won't let her hurt you anymore!" Molly assured.

Libby smiled back before she replied, "Thanks, Molly!"

As Molly and Libby hugged each other, a mischievous grin formed across Scratch's face before he thought of an idea. The girls were so distracted that they didn't notice Scratch hanging something above them

"Oh, what's this above you?" Scratch got Molly and Libby's attention. They both looked up and blushed the moment that they realized that Scratch hanged a mistletoe above them. "Who put this up here? You know the rules, Molly! Now, you have to kiss Libby!"

As annoyed as she was with Scratch, Molly decided not to let it bother her. Molly and Libby kissed each other for a couple of moments before eventually pulling away from the kiss.

After staring at one another in silence, Libby decided to break the silence as she said, "Well, I'd better be going now. I love you, Molly!" Libby kissed Molly goodbye.

"I love you too, Libby!" Molly waved goodbye before Libby turned to leave.

The moment Libby left, Molly decided that it was time for her to go to bed. She changed into her pajamas and got under her covers. As she drifted off the sleep, Molly was looking forward to her next college semester with Libby.

AN: So, I didn't really have too many ideas for this chapter, which is why it is a little short compared to my other chapters. I hope to make my next chapter longer to make up for that. Anyway, I hope everyone is enjoying the story and feel free to let me know what you think of the story so far!
