As soon as Frisk started to scream, Sans was at first taken aback by her reaction to him walking in the room but quickly composed himself and walked over to the child to find out what exactly was wrong.
"Woah, hey kid, chill, it's me," he reassured the still screaming child, who immediately backed away as he got closer "kid, you need to calm yourself. Otherwise, you could end up having another seizure." Knowing that he was probably right, Frisk began to calm down, but she remained somewhat scared of the Skeleton, and it wasn't long before the little girl burst into tears.
"I...I didn't do, I never hurt him, please sans, you got to believe me," the terrified and distraught little girl wept, her tiny body trembling as streams of tears rolled down her pale face.
"Huh," Sans replied, his expression puzzled " what are you talking about, kiddo?"
"P..Papyrus, I never hurt him, I never," Frisk replied, "please sans, don't kill me, DON'T PLEASE." The child curled up in a ball and continued to sob as Sans watched in confusion. What on earth was the kid getting at
"Kid, Kid, hey kid, it's ok, I know you didn't hurt Pap, he's fine, I can assure you," sans replied, reassuring the child "he's at home right now, making spaghetti and watching tv." Then, with a slight sniffle, Frisk slowly lifted her head and wiped her tear-stained cheeks with her sleeve.
"B...but, I was in his hallway, like some church, and you were there too and, you said that I killed papyrus and then one of your eye sockets turned blue and I couldn't move, then you started throwing me around the room and then, you...you" the little girl broke down again before she could finish what she wanted to say.
"Oh Kid, none of that happened," Sans reassured the child "you were probably having a nightmare" he put his hand on the little girl's forehead, "and I'm not surprised, you're burning up a little; it must be all those seizures messing with your brain. After a few minutes, Frisk began to calm down, knowing that if she continued to get herself worked up, then she could end up having another seizure. She had far too many since she fell into the underground that it was starting to make her body ache, and her current sickly appearance was possibly due to having so many also.
"So kid, what's your next plan then? You think you'll be ok to leave and continue with your journey?" Sans asked.
"I think so, the sooner I get back home, the better, can't imagine how worried sick my parents must be, and I'm worried that my Epilepsy could get worse if I go on for too much longer without medication," the child stated, sliding off the huge bed and putting on her boots.
"Well, good luck, kiddo, I'll be rooting for ya," sans replied, ruffling the child's hair.
"Thank you and thank you for looking after me," Frisk replied with a small smile.
"Well, I made a promise to someone that I'd keep an eye on you, and I'm not breaking that promise." Frisk gave a small smile at the Skeleton's response before turning to leave the room, and as soon as she left the room, her cell phone began to ring.
"H..hello," the child said as she answered.
"Oh, Frisk, thank goodness you're ok. I haven't heard from you since your last encounter with Mettaton" Alphys voice spoke from the other end of the receiver.
"I had another seizure," Frisk replied. "Sans found me and took me to the MTT resort so I could rest." Despite still being concerned about Frisk's condition taking a turn for the worst and leaving her weak and vulnerable, Alphys stated that she would need to go through the core as it was the only way to reach the capital.
"Once you reach the capital, you will find the barrier, and from there, you'll be able to go home," Alphys explained, "you must be eager to get back home, huh?"
"Yes, the sooner I get home, the sooner I can get medical attention as I feel that my Epilepsy could be getting worse since I've been without medication for days," The young girl replied.
Of course, this wasn't the first time her Epilepsy got terrible. Frisk could still remember when she had a bad seizure which left her unable to move for a few days, that she had to spend some time in hospital.
"Try not to worry. You'll be fine," Alphys reassured the child "you can tell when they're about to happen, right?"
"Yes," Frisk replied, "when you've been living with it for five years, you can tell when you're about to have a seizure." Alphys then proceeded to tell Frisk that if she starts to feel like she will have a seizure to find a safe spot so she can go through with the process. Frisk assured Alphys that she would before hanging up and proceeding to enter the core.
Meanwhile, Alphys was in her lab, watching Frisk making her way through the core on the security cameras and she grew increasingly concerned for the little girl who looked sick and pale, possibly from all the seizures she'd been having.
"How's the kid?" Sans appeared beside Alphys, looking at the security camera footage of Frisk making her way through the core.
"I'm very concerned for them." Sans nodded as the pair of them continued to watch the sickly child continuing onward. "She doesn't look too good, and I just hope she can make it to the capital without having a seizure."
"You think her condition is getting worse, don't you?" Sans asked as Alphys nodded, explaining that she may not possibly have a chance against Asgore if her condition took a turn for the worst.
"Guess the kid's condition can get pretty serious without medication."
"Well, I read up on it so I can get more information," Alphys replied, "and from what I read, I found out that medication is to be used to help keep the seizures under control. Well, since Frisk has been down here without any medication, then it'll be impossible for her to keep her seizures under control."
Meanwhile, Frisk had barely made it through the core after avoiding a few traps and puzzles. She felt tired and dizzy but was determined to continue forward.
"Come on. You can do this. You're almost to the capital," the child told herself "the quicker you get out of here, the sooner you can go home." The little girl stumbled slightly from dizziness, but she managed to steady herself before making her way through a doorway that she had seen at the end of the hallway.
As Frisk entered the doorway, she found herself in a darkened room, and standing right in the middle, waiting for her, was none other than Mettaton.
"Well, it's about time you showed up darling, I was beginning to wonder if you'd ever make it here, but now that you've finally made it, it's time for a big finale." before Frisk could react, the door behind her suddenly slammed shut.
"Hey, what's going on?" the little girl asked with a hint of fear in her voice.
"Oh, how silly of me," Mettaton replied, his voice overly dramatic "I almost forgot to mention that this is all a setup. It's all an act which the great Dr. Alphys set up herself" Frisk shook her head in disbelief " that's right, all our encounters in hot land and right now were all planned by Alphys. She wanted to be the hero in your little adventure. In fact, in just a few minutes, she will knock on that door in just a few seconds in one last attempt to rescue you. After all, what's a show without a good plot twist." Then, just as Mettaton had predicted, there came a knock on the door, followed by Alphy's voice.
"Hey, Frisk, I have an idea. Try and get Mettaton to turn around. There's a switch on the back of him. It should switch him off." Frisk nodded and focused her attention back on Mettaton.
"Hey, you may want to look behind you," the little girl pointed out.
"And why would I do that, beautiful?" the Entertainer Robot inquired "you're not playing some trick on me, are you?"
"Not at all," Frisk replied, "it's just that there's a mirror behind you."
"Well, why didn't you say so" Mettaton replied with a dramatic gasp as he proceeded to turn around, revealing the switch on his back "hmm, that's funny, I don't see a mirror, are you sure you saw one behind me, darling?" Frisk didn't reply. Instead, she pressed the switch on Mettaton's back which caused him to turn around slowly.
"Did you just flip my switch?" Frisk stumbled back as Mettaton began to shake like he was going to explode before the entire room became engulfed in smoke and bright flashing lights, shortly followed by a deep, booming voice.
"Oh Yes!." Frisk stumbled back as a humanoid figure appeared in the smoke. She could also feel another seizure coming, which was not at all a surprise from the flashing lights that filled the room "since you flipped my switch, then you must be desperate for the premiere of my new body, well don't worry darling, I will make your last living moments" the smoke began to clear as a more humanoid Mettaton appeared into view, his design reminding Frisk that of Micheal Jackson "absolutely beautiful." That was the last thing Frisk saw and heard before the flashing lights became too much for her brain to handle that she proceeded to vomit from the intense headache before having another seizure.
