Back deep in the underground, Frisk reached the elevator that would take her to Asgore's castle, but as she was about to enter, Alphys came running up behind her.
"Human, wait," she yelled as she finally caught up with the child, "before you step into that elevator, there's something I must tell you."
"What is it?" Frisk asked, a confused expression on her pale face " if you're still trying to talk me out of going up against Asgore, it isn't going to work, I must get out of here, and I'm not going to let my condition stop me." Alphys quickly shook her head and insisted that she wasn't going to try and stop her. Instead, she had some information to give her.
"Listen because this is very important, to pass through the barrier, you will need both a human and monster soul, so...oh jeez, this is hard."
"What's wrong?" Frisk asked. The little girl was beginning to get the feeling that something was wrong "please, tell me, Miss Alphys."
"Well, to claim a Monster soul, you will have to" Alphys took a deep breath, "you will have to kill Asgore." Frisk almost stumbled upon hearing those words. She may have wanted to get out of the underground, but she didn't want to hurt or kill anyone. It was just not in her nature, and she told Alphys precisely that. "Well, you do what you think is the right decision, good luck." The royal scientist placed a hand on Frisk's shoulder before turning and heading opposite.
After Alphys was gone, Frisk turned and stepped into the elevator with a deep breath. "Well, this is it," the child mumbled as the doors to the elevator closed before it took the long journey down to the King's castle.
The Elevator ride seemed to take forever, but eventually, it came to a stop, the doors opening, and as Frisk stepped out, she found herself in what appeared to be an abandoned city of some sort. The child shivered, stepping out of the elevator, entering some world that looked deserted and empty. As she continued onward, many thoughts were going through the child's head and what would happen once she came face to face with Asgore. She feared that she could have a seizure during the encounter.
"Just stay calm, Frisk, you can do this," the little girl mumbled to herself as she pushed herself forward. AS the young girl continued walking through the seemingly abandoned city, she could hear the voices of various monsters, and from what she could gather, they seemed to be telling some story.
"A long time ago, a child around ten years old climbed Mount Ebbot, only to fall into this world." The voices gave Frisk chills, but she proceeded onward as the voices continued to tell the story.
"Injured from their fall, the child called out for help, and it seemed like that nobody would come, but Asriel, the King, and Queen's son found the human and brought them back to the castle, and they took the human child in, treating them as part of the family." Hearing this, Frisk remembered the photo she had seen in Toriel's house, the one of what she presumed to be the Royal family of the underground along with a human girl that looked strikingly similar to herself.
"Asriel and the Human became like siblings, the pair of them were inseparable, and it seemed that the whole underground was full of hope." Beginning to feel weak and exhausted from the seizures she'd been having, Frisk stumbled slightly but carried on walking "until one day, the human became very sick, and that had one final request, to see the Flowers from their village one last time."
"Oh man, that poor kid," Frisk mumbled as the voices continued to tell the story.
"Unfortunately, there was nothing anyone could do for the human, and sadly, the next day, the child died." Frisk could feel their eyes watering, this kid was her age, and they had passed away "wracked with grief, Asriel absorbed the human's soul, transforming into a being with such incredible power" that line gave Frisk the shivers. "With the human's soul, he crossed through the barrier, carrying the child's body into the sunset, back to the town of the humans." Frisk stumbled again, feeling slightly dizzy, but the little girl continued onward.
"Asriel reached the center of the town where he found a bed of golden flowers, so he carried the child onto it. But all of a sudden, screams rang out. The townsfolk had spotted Asriel holding the child's body and thought he had killed the child."
"Wow, poor kid," Frisk whispered.
"The humans attacked him with everything they had, striking him blow after blow. But Asriel didn't fight back. Instead, he just clutched the human's body, smiled, and walked away." Frisk fell to her hands and knees, exhausted as the voices continued to tell the tragic story of the first fallen human. "Wounded, Asriel stumbled home. He entered the castle and collapsed, his dust spreading across the garden." Refusing to let her condition stop her, Frisk pulled herself up, grabbing onto the wall.
"Pretty soon, the Kingdom fell into despair. The King and queen had lost two children in one night. The humans had once again taken everything from us." Frisk let out a small sob, she was exhausted, and the tragic story didn't help much either. "From that moment on, the King decided that it was time to end our suffering. He decided that every human that fell into the underground must die."
"Oh no," Frisk mumbled, pushing herself forward despite feeling exhausted. The number of seizures she had while in the underground was beginning to take its toll on her tiny body, worrying that she could have one once she faced up against Asgore himself.
"With enough human souls, we can shatter the barrier." Hearing that gave Frisk the chills, knowing that her soul was the final soul they needed to break the barrier "now do not fear little one, it will soon be over, King Asgore will let us go, he will set us free, he will save us all. Aren't you happy, aren't you excited? You're finally going to be free." With that, the voices stopped, and Frisk continued to walk forward, but she could feel another Seizure coming on, and it wasn't long before the little girl collapsed to the floor and began to convulse just as a figure slowly approached her.
